24 x 36 plots on 12 x 18 paper on the EPSON WF 7520!

this only took me about a year and a half of on and off again testing. if it is not in fact possible (/please/ let me know if it is) it would be nice if the folks at Epson - at a minimum - let me know how to save this set of alice in wonderland down the wormhole set of print settings so i don't have to refer to self published documentation every time i need to plot.
ESPON 24X36 plots on 12 x 18 paper plot summary
1. PUT 12 X 18 PAPER IN SLOT 1 (upper slot)
2. pulldown File > Print
3. pulldown to ESPON printer
4. leave "Auto Rotate and Center" checked (note that you are likely to uncheck this because the interface for this plotting is so buggy your plots will normally come out oriented incorrectly. also note that if you have a multi-page document you will want to print only the current view or you will waste a ton of paper and ink printing incorrectly sized or incorrectly oriented multi-page documents…).
5. click "Page Setup"
6. pulldown to "Format For" Epson WF-7520
7. select "Paper Size" to 18 x12 (see notes below)
8. if your plot is oriented correctly (i.e. horizontally) leave first selection in "Orientation:" set as it is.
7. change "Scale" to 50 percent
9. note that when setting up your 12 x 18 inch custom paper size you HAVE to have the 18 inch set as the width and the 12 inch set as the height. there is NO combination of settings that will let you get a correct plot on 12 x 18 inch paper if you accidentally put these entries as 12 and then 18. it HAS to be 18 then 12.
10. click OK
11. cross your fingers and again make sure you have just plotted one sheet until you get it all set up.
12. post back here if you figure out a way to SAVE THESE SETTINGS in a way that doesn't mean making it the default setting (i.e. you print on different types of paper on your ESPON 7520 WIDE FORMAT 2 TRAY PRINTER!!

"New Epson software" update [sic] was recently applied by Apple through 'Software Update' throughout many versions of OS X, in my case 10.07.5.  It made a mess of printing in regard to paper and image sizes. (Same printer I've been using daily for years.)
I'm trying to find solutions through Epson and Apple discussion boards.
If anybody figures this out, please post links here.

Try calling SetCoordinates on the annotation's Caption property. This method lets you explicitly set the x and y coordinates of the caption.

  • How to plot cross-correlation in terms of the real time?

Usually the cross-correlation or the auto-correlation results are plotted vs. the lag(tao). But how can I plot it vs. the real time of the input signal? I have two same length input signals having same input time.

I am using LabView 7Express. What I use is the "convolution and correlation" VI, without the 'Express' however ... I mean, if both my input signals are L-length, the result of the correlation will be 2L-length, i.e. the length is doubled. But I want to keep the original signal size, making the result L-length as well, and have the same time origin as the input signals. I mean, if my input signals are from 0-1 second, I also expect to see the cross-correlaton is within 0-1 second, having the same data points. Thanks a lot!

The attached VI shows how this might work with a sinewave. First run it with the boolean switch off to demonstrate the problem, now then turn the switch on and run the VI again.

  • How can I save the plot on Graph control to disk like the plot on Picture.vi ?

    Dear all
I have a question about saving the plot on graph control.
In Labview, there is two way to make a plot, using graph control (eg. waveform control ,wavechart control) and Picture.vi (eg. plot XY vi and plot waveform VI ) ,
but for Picture.VI  there is some control  for saving them to disk (eg. write jpeg file.vi or write bmp file.vi )
My question is that may I save the plot display in graph control to disk using some vi like saving Picture to disk.
I only know we only can right clicking and export implified image to save the plot on graphic plot?
What want is save the plot on graphic control without interface and save to disk directly?
    many thanks!

RIght-click on your graph and select:
Create...Invoke Node and select method "export image". Wire the desired inputs and place it inside a case structure to be activated by e.g. a button.

  • How can I represent more than one plot in an only one chart?

    Hello everyone,
i got a code where I don't understand how to represent more than two plots, with different scales each, in the same waveform chart.
    As brief review:
    * 2 adquisition data wired to Bundle
    * wire from Bundle to waveform chart.
    * options of th chart: stack plots.
I've tried to expand the Bundle but the problem is that I'm wiring a 3 element cluster to a 2element cluster chart. I don't understand how to upgrade the chart...
(there's the two plots in each chart)
(there's the code, where I've already tried expanding any bundle and wiring other signals, then wiring the bundle's output to the chart)
I think if I could add more scales, it will be possible to plot three plots on the same chart.
    Thank you for your time
    Marcelo A J

Since you are dealing with waveforms already, I think you actually want to have an array of waveforms to go into your chart.  You also need to map the plots to the scale that you want to use.  You can do that in the plot tab of the properties window.

  • How to let the user define the colors for each plots in the graph (I use LabVIEW 7)?

How to let the user define the colors for each plots in the graph (I
    use LabVIEW 7)?

    Hi,
Take a look at this example, it uses property nodes to select tha
active plot and then changes the color of that plot.
If you want to make the number of plots dynamic you could use a for
loop and an array of color boxes.
    I hope this helps.

  • Line width on plot and on plot legend not matching

    Hello,
I wrote a program that "highlights" (changes the linewidth to 4) one of two plots using a boolean switch.  However, the corresponding linewidth in the legend does not always show the same width as the plots value.  For example, if plot 0 is thick, and its legend is thick, and plot 1 and its legend are thin, then I select plot 1 to become the highlighted one, plot 1 in the graph will become thick, but either its legend will not become thick, or plot 0s will remain thick, while plot 0 on the actual graph will be switched to thin.
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

    Hi  M.Bobby,
I can see the same behavior on my machine as well. This was reported to R&D (238303 CAR ID) for further investigation. R&D is currently investigating this issue. A possible workaround is to hover over the legend to make it update.  We are sorry for the inconvenience, and appreciate your feedback!
Thanks and have a great day.

  • How can I update single plot in multi plot xy graph?

    Hi all,
I'm working on an HMI "front" for a larger acquisition/analysis system, that includes continuous performance monitoring of a turbine. The results of the measurements are stored arrays of contour lines, that represents turbine efficiency and guide vane openings. This analysis is all performed in the background. In the HMI, the performance data is loaded from file when the specific "report" is requested, and is plotted in an XY graph. I would like to indicate the current operation point of the machine by using a plot that is a single point. Thus, that point's position among the contour lines indicates the current performance of the turbine. This point is updated once every second, while the performance data remains the same for considerable amounts of time between recalculations (days to weeks).
Is there any way of updating the value of a single plot in a multiple plot XY Graph without having to redraw all the plots?
I've tried using the "Active Plot" property, which doesn't work.
My current solution is to keep all the data as input to the executing while loop and replace a subset of the plot array, but that of course requires the entire rewrite every time the operation point plot is updated.

You cannot redraw a single plot. If you want to update a single plot, you need to retain all plots in a shift regsiter and replace the data of the desired plot. However, your problem seems much simpler than that. To show a single point on a nearly static plot you have several options.
You can use a cursor that is controlled programmatically (the style can be a point, don't allow drag).
    You can use annotations.
You can use the "plot images" feature that allows you to use image commands to draw anything on top of a graph.
None of these ideas require a redraw of any data.
I think the cursor idea is probably the easiest and most appropriate. Just use a property node with the following properties:
    active cursor
    cursor position x
    cursor position y

  • How do you get multiple plots to show up on the same graph?

I am trying to get multiple (20) plots to show up on the same XY
graph.  My data set is a 2D array, which exits a for loop.
The ultimate goal is to have one plot show up after each iteration of
the for loop.  I can only get all 20 to show up at once, not one
    at a time.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • How can I limit the vertical size of the plot legend?

    Hi all,
in my program I use a waveform graph and its plot legend.
My problem is that the vertical size of the plot legend increases out of my frame and screen if I add too many plots to the graph!!!!
Is there a possibilty to limit the vertical size of the plot legend and/or to use a vertical scrollbar in the plot legend?
    I use LV 8.2.1 .
    Thanks
    daHans

You can write to the "Active Plot" property node. The example given in the thread I linked to before shows using this. Did you take a look at that example?
I'm only suggesting the alternative of an "Active Plot" control if you're trying to give the user the ability to manipulate one of the plots (like color, point style, etc). If you have a lot of plots, and the plot legend is too big, you can provide a numeric control where the user selects the plot, and then additional controls to set the properties for that plot. Not as intuitive as the plot legend, but if that's what you've gotta do, that's what you've gotta do. Attached is a simple example (LabVIEW 8.20).

  • How do I plot multiple points (scatter) on the same graph?

    Hello,
I have a graph with a fixed X-axis and an array of Y values which varies. How do I plot these new y values without replacing the previous ones? E.g to have a scatter of new data? Example of shown in Figure 1 below:
Figure 1: (Note: image was photoshopped to demonstrate goal)
Figure 2: Current block diagram, LabVIEW VI:
    Thank you!

Think about what you are really building. You are building an array of clusters, right? For each element in the array you have a cluster whos content has a value for the X axis and a value for the Y axis. As long as you are not connecting the datapoints in the graph (which you aren't), you can plot the datapoints in any order. If you are building your X portion of the cluster seperately than your Y portion of the cluster, you just have to make sure the indexes do not get transposed somehow.
Build the lower half of the attached picture, and you will see what I mean. (hopefully)

  • How to plot multiple channels in a single chart

    HI
My problem is basically offline analysis only. From the given data i have to plot the difference between any two channels. But i have to plot up to 8 differential signals as per users selection in a single graph.Somebody please give some idea how to do this. Thanks a lot.

    There are lots of options
    Perhaps for graph basics:-
Try the 'XY Graph.vi' sample in the 'Find Examples' menu item under help.
The example shows multiple plots on one chart.

  • How can I change the color of plot in a waveform chart and graph?

There are 4 plots in a waveform chart, from plot0 to plot3, and I want to chang the color of plots dynamicly up to my needs when the VI is running.
For example, as show in the picture, i want to set the plot0 as RED, and plot1 is BLUE, plot2 is YELLOW, plot3 is GRAY.
If there is only one plot, i can change it's color, however when there are more than one plot, it fail.
    How can I do it?
    Thanks

    Hello MilkyStone,
first you have to set the active plot, then change its color (or other properties). All that is done using property nodes.
