24hrs with a N86 and that's enough - unless you ca...

So - read the reviews and purchased an n86 - was very optimistic.  24 hours later and unless you guys can help me its going back to the shop:
1.  Camera - poor at taking pics of people.  The wide angle and (I presume) compression algorithms mean that the person looks small in the picture and the picture looks grainy.
2.  Video - captured a couple of videos.  Try and play them back and the screen just goes black.
3.  OS system crashes - randomly just freezes and lags behind commands.
4.  Nokia software updater - can't connect the phone easily (even using the supplied cable) and can't download  the latest version of the software / firmware (which ironically is meant to improve the camera).
So all in all very unhappy - real shame cos the phone looks and feels great with a fantastic screen.  Just wish the bloody thing worked.

If I were in your position having had the experience I have had with my 5800 I would certainly return it and look elsewhere.
What you've described sounds just like the start of what I've experienced. Expect a few updates which may or may not fix one complaint but not others, those same complaints to reoccur, and a string of Fanbois to appear on here saying that your difficulties don't exist/Nokia have fixed it/You're too stupid and that's why the Nokia handset you own is **bleep**.
Take it back, and go on some other manufacturer's forums and see which is full of happy customers, then go with them.

    That shows you that iPhoto is working correctly and whatever issue you are having is based in your original library.
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

    The iPhone HAS to be active making calls on the UK carrier network for the carrier to identify as "theirs" and therefore eligible for the Carrier to unlock
    The way to achieve this is to use a PAYG sim making and receiving calls to establish a customer relationship  with the Carrier and then follow the Carrier's process to unlock
    With a PAYG it usually means adding a specified (by the carrier ) amount  usually £15 /£20 depending on the carrier
    This is how O2 function and according to Gemma  this is how Vodafone work

  • I cannot see my photos in iphoto library - I tried to restore with Time Machine and that doubled the number of photos (copies) but I still cannot see the images - the events are there but no thumbnails although the number of pics per event is correct...

    Can someone help me see my pictures again in iphoto? 3 weeks ago while uploading a video from iphoto to Facebook, my events thumbnails all disappeared and were replaced by black squares - the event names and number of pics in each remain but when I click on the event, I only get squares where the pics should be - when I click those squares, I get  a square with a triangle  and an exclamation mark in middle.
    Apple had emailed me about defective disks in iMacs so I took mine to the Apple Store and they replaced my HD then reinstalled from my backup via Time Machine - I still cannot see my pics! I tried to reinstall from an earlier Time Machine date - that copied everything and now my HD has double the amount of data but I still cannot see my pictures!
    I would be thankful for any guidance on how to retrieve my pictures...

  • I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora icon on the screen. I was told that to connect my iphone 5 with USB port and that worked. But as soon as I disconnected, Pandora went out on screen. Only works plugged in now. Should work without USB connected.

    I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora and Stitcher on the nav screen. With my Samsung S3, Pandora automatically lit up and worked. with new iphone5, I was told I need to connect USB port to car and phone and start Pandora. That worked and the icon on screen lit up. but as soon as I removed the USB cord, Pandora and Stitcher greyed out and stopped working. I know it's supposed to work on the car's nav screen once I hardwire it (at least that's what I was told), but as soon as I disconnect, they stop working through the car.  How can I install Pandora and Stitcher on my car WITHOUT having the usb cord attached? the idea is to be able to use the car's touch screen to control Pandora, but with the phone plugged into the USB port, I can only use the phone to control Pandora, which of course is dangerous when driving!  And it worked correctly with the samsung, so I have to believe it can work with the iphone 5! Right?  Thanks.

    You cannot install the apps on the car.
    The cars head unit is merely acting as an interface to the apps on the device.
    If you want to use those apps in the car, plug the device in and leave it plugged in.

    I have a couple of articles that should be able to help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes first. This has to be done in a specific manner, and this article can help you do that:

    If you updated iPhone to iOS7, it now checks for real Apple Lightning Cable. Your cable may not be Apple, or someone swapped another cable with yours. Make sure the cable end is clean, take a clean dry toothbrush and carefully clean charging port on the iPhone.

    If your provided provided PHP scripting you can use NateMail from MindPalette (NateMail 3.0.15), and it's free. It's a forms fill-in email contact that can be built in GoLive. I've used it with great success on my site.

    Just because it said Mozilla Security in the title bar does not mean it is from Mozilla as Mozilla nor the Firefox browser has ever done such a thing.
    This sounds like one of those fake animated scanners which claims it is scanning your computer and then says you are infected with such and such. It then suggests to download something that will be what really infects your computer if using Windows. As long as you did not download and install this whatever.exe then you should be safe. Though you may want to scan your computer with whatever antivirus software you have with updated definitions just to be safer.
    This sort of thing is even more obvious on being fake when Linux and Mac users can encounter these pages.

    As above McAfee apparently feels the fault is with FF. I will admit that under the latest 3 version it worked fine. I skipped version 4 because of some things a read about it. I did go with FF5.

    The McAfee Site Advisor add-on is blocklisted by Mozilla due to that Site Advisor extension being the #2 cause of crashing the Firefox 5.0 betas.
