2504 Management over a separate Port

Hello,
is it possible to Manage the 2504 Controller over a separate Interface.
Exmaple:
Port 1 is used as controller management interface (untagged) - AP's are connected to the same VLAN
Port 1 is used for Guest Traffic (VLAN 3 tagged)
Port 2 should be used to manage the WLAN Controller from the internal LAN. (tested with untagged, tagged, same issue)
with this Setup it is possible to ping the Port 2 IP-Address from the internal LAN but if you try to connect to the controller,
the Browser shows "Site not reachable".
I also enabled "Management via Wireless" but without success.
I also tried to add the "management" VLAN as tagged on the management Interface with the same effect,
the controller is not manageable from the internal LAN.
On 5508 WLAN Controller i have an similar setup, but with LAG Port enabled. There this works.
The only interface were i can manage the WLAN controller is from the management Interface.
i hope someone can help me
kind regards
Mathias

Yes, you need to drop in the CLI and issue this command
config network mgmt-via-dynamic-interface

  • Cisco 2504 Management Via Wireless

    I have a 2504 connected via a 2960S switch to an ASA5505.
Wireless is working well - wireless clients get their IP addresses from the 2504 and wired clients from the ASA (different ranges from the same subnet).
One issue though is I cannot access the web interface of the 2504 when connected to wireless, only wired.  Everything else is accessible on wireless and I can ping the management address of the 2504 but the page fails to load in a browser.
I've had a look for an obvious setting but can't see one - am I missing something.
    Thanks

    HI,
First you must enable the management over wireless:
    Via GUI:
Management > Mgmt Via Wireless page and check the Enable Controller Management to be accessible from Wireless Clients check box.
    Via CLI:
    config network mgmt-via-wireless enable

  • Out-Of-Band Management over IPSec and OSPF Area Design

    Hello,
i'm planning to implement Out of band management over OSPF over IPSec Tunnel and i have a question about the OSPF area design (please see attached figure).
As network administrator our NOC is sitting in OFFICE (OSPF Area 1). Internet access is guarenteed over our DCs (Multihomed BGP peering).
Additionally we have a second internet access at OFFICE where i want to use for IPSec Tunnel and building a OSPF neighboring to our Out-of-Band Firewall, which they too have theire own internet access.
I'm planning to declare this IPSec Tunnel as OSPF AREA 3 and AREA 4 respectively for DC1 and DC2. There are no subnet overlapping.
My Question is if I should connect both areas 3 and 4 at OFFICE to the backbone area over a virtual-link or not? Would be an disadvantage if i wont use the virtual-link?
    Thx for any reply

1.The AUX port on Cisco routers is either RJ-45 or DB-25. If the AUX port is RJ-45, use a flat-satin rolled RJ-45--RJ-45 cable (part number CAB-500RJ= ), which is usually provided with every Cisco router for console connections. You also need an RJ-45 to DB-25 adapter marked "MODEM" (part number CAB-25AS-MMOD) to connect the rolled cable to the DB-25 port on the modem.
    2. if your router has a DB-25 AUX port, use a straight-through DB-25Female - DB25Male RS-232 cable to connect the modem to the router.
    Use this document.

  • AS2 over HTTP Send port question.

I have an application that builds and  sends flat and EDI files to FTP, FILE, SqlAdapter send ports and now they want AS2 over an HTTP port, I understand the AS2 settings (using party resolution, etc.) what I don't get is how/what exactly is receiving
the message on the other side... They don't have a web service nor a page, I created a site to test but what do I do? Send an edi file to a url????
    Bico Bielich

From your question I understand, you have been asked to send message through AS2. Do they also going to receive message through AS2 from their party? Is your question is about how to receive the message through AS2 which you also want to send over AS2?
    You can configure
BTSHTTPReceive.dll to receive messages over HTTP and configure the Receive location with AS2 EDI pipeline component to receive messages over AS2 into BizTalk which can be subscribed by your send port filter or Orchestration ( if you have any process
to be applied before sending the message over AS2 send).
Check the Tutorial-3 part of AS2 which illustrate an example which receives an AS2 message through BTSHTTPReceive.dll.
    Tutorial 3: AS2 Tutorial
And following references shall help you configure the BTSHTTPReceive.dll:

  • Redundancy management IP and Redundancy port IP unreachable issue

    Hi, all
I got one interesting issue with wireless 5508 controller. we have ordered two WLCs, one is air5508-12-k9, Anther one is air5508-HA-k9.
Now, we are going to form HA mode and HA box will become standby mode. One issue we are seeing now. after configuring redundancy management IP and Redundancy port IP to both WLCs. primary WLC are working well that we can ping it's all of IPs successfully, however standby WLC are not working well. even it can't ping itself. management IP has no problem.
Problem is only for redundancy management IP and redundancy Port IP. One interesting thing is our switch can't learn redundancy port's MAC address even it's connecting and interface shows UP. Primary has no this issue.
Has anyone have the same issue before or appreciate any suggestions and inputs.

  • Best Practice on installing Workflow Manager on a separate box

    Hi,
We are installing Workflow Manager 1.0 to work with our SP2013 farm, which is fairly simple.
However we anticipate a significant  amount of workflow work in the future.
Could you please share your thoughts/experience/lessons learnt on Having WF Manager on a separate box compared to having it on the same box as SP2013 Front end server in terms of
    1. Scalability
    2. Stability
    3. Ease of Installation/Management
    etc
    Thanks a lot.

  • Connecting to labview over TCP/IP port

I have got an undocumented project to maintain, it has a Java UI code, which connects with some component of LABVIEW over
    TCP/IP Port = 1234
and over this port it sends commands for clear, get, set
I need links for understanding the component from LABVIEW which is been accessed over port 1234
I have installed LABVIEW Run time 2013, and do not know which PROCESS the Java code is trying to connect over TCP/IP, and I do not see any of the RT processes binding to port 1234.
Any pointers/links would certainly help me!
    Thanks,
    -Vikrant

Can you define what you mean by "component of LabVIEW"?
The LabVIEW runtime engine is just a required component to run any custom build LabVIEW executable or dll. So, what is it?
You also mention RT processes. Does this run on an RT system? What is running where? If you are connecting to a remove LabVIEW RT system that runs a service on port 1234, you don't need LabVIEW or a run time engine at all on the local side.
At this time we don't have any useful information from you. Please be significantly more detailed! Thanks.

  • No check box for "Share disks over Ethernet WAN port"

I've recently bought an AirPort Extreme and have no problem on connecting to Internet and sharing disks. But my "AirPort Utility" looks different from other people's, and I feel uncomfortable about it.
I saw many users' AirPort Utility screen shots, but all of them have "Share disks over Ethernet WAN port" check box under Disks > File Sharing tab. But mine doesn't; at the place where that check box should exist I have "Advertise disks globally using Bonjour" check box, which is usually under "Share disks over Ethernet WAN port" check box.
I think this is very unusual. Does anybody have the same problem?
    Here is the my screenshot:link

  • Share disks over Ethernet WAN port is missing

    Hi All!
I'm quite new to this Airport Extreme thing. I just set tne box up, and i wanted to share my disks over WAN, but the option "Share disks over Ethernet WAN port" is missing. I'm only able to turn on Bonjour
    My firmware version is 7.2.1
Can anyone help me with this matter?

    Hi Lars,
The reason why you are not able to see the option "Share disks over Ethernet WAN port" is because you have set your Airport Extreme up as a "Bridge" (broforbindelse). You must be using the Airport Extreme as your router in order to have this option.

  • Using DynDNS and Sharing disks over Ethernet WAN port

I am having issues accessing the AirDisk from outside my LAN. So here are the steps that I have taken:
In the AirPort Utility, I enable "Share disks over Ethernet WAN port".
Created a DynDNS account at http://www.dyndns.com so my hostname points to my IP address.
After reading a bunch of threads, mainly this one below, there are a few conflicting issues.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4105319
Someone mentioned you have to Setup Port Mapping to open up Personal File Sharing. But another said you don't have to set up Port Mapping. Well if you do, you're gonna run into a problem. This Apple article states you have to use a different port: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305183
Someone said Remote Access only works via AFP not via SMB. Is this true?
Also do I have to enter my DynDNS hostname into the wide area bonour tab in the advanced tab?
    What am I doing wrong?
Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Airport Extreme N

Are you aware of any DynDNS-like service that support Wide Area Bonjour?
None at the moment. One might hope that Apple's .Mac service would make use of it, but I don't think Apple has announced anything about that possibility.
Or as a practical matter is this a technology that only appears at the moment in private installations of OS X Server?
I've found the version of dnsextd that ships in Mac OS X 10.4 (not just the server version) to be a bit flaky. One hopes it will work a lot better in Mac OS X 10.5.
But since the AEBS doesn't support DynDNS update, as other routers do, it ends up requiring a server after all.
Wouldn't it be nice if DynDNS and similar services allowed you to configure DNS resource records manually? That way, it wouldn't matter what your home gateway/fileserver was capable of doing— you could just edit your DNS zone accordingly.

  • How do you accept files over and IR port?

I am trying to accept files over and IR port and trigger another vi every time a file is received. Has anyone had any luck doing this? I read that you can use the ws2_32.dll to do this but I'm new to calling libraries.

It depends on the protocol that the sender is using. I've used IR, but it simply acted like a serial port. Even if you know that much, you'll want to know how it sends the files. So, a header explaining the number of bytes, filename, and following the data. That would be pretty simple.
I looked at the ws2_32.dll and it appears to be winsock (tcp/ip) and nothing to do with IR.
The LabVIEW Advanced course has a very good section about using Call Library Function nodes. If you find out more about your application, hardware (IR) and communication protocol, we might end up figuring out if we need to use an existing DLL.
