2525-6nu crashes after install of windows xp SP2

the systems boots up ok and right after the welcome screen it says registering explorer 6, a screen pops up that says the system is shutting down because.......... it closes so quick i cant read it
help please

Lots of crashes, MSN messenger, Internet explorer, Outlook, Logitech quickcam, just isn't stable for any length of time.
I suppose I am quite surprised that the latest BIOS is from November last year and many of the driver updates are also quite old. The only one that refers to XP service pack 2 is one indicating which driver upgrades are required, it doesn't mention Equium and is dated from 2004.

  • IPodService.exe crashes after installing MS Windows XP SP3

Installed Windows XP SP3 the other day, now iPodService.exe crashes every time when starting. Does anyone have a workaround or fix? I have not found any other info about this problem...I tried the repair reinstallation, but that didn't help. Error signature is:
    szAppName : iPodService.exe szAppVer : 7.6.2.9
    szModName : iPodService.exe szModVer : 7.6.2.9 offset : 00027259
    Muchas Gracias for any assistance...

I also uninstalled SP3, but the damage was already in the registry, so the uninstall did not help.
I am using NIS2008, so I uninstalled that (making sure I had distribution info to allow re-install later.
    I reinstalled SP3.
then, using regedit (start->run->regedit) edit->find and type in "$%&" which is string all corrupt keys start with (thanks to other posters). you will find them in groups. I selected the key at the top of the group of corrupt values (usually some "update" key) and deleted the entire corrupt group (right click->delete and confirm). Be careful to only delete the corrupt groups of keys!!
in my case, I found at least half a dozen, or so, such groups. I deleted each one until the find could locate no more.
    I closed regedit and rebooted.
    I reinstalled NIS2008.
I had also deleted itunes and apple update, so I reinstalled those.
I have seen no further problems.
    hope this helps.

Hi Forum Experts, hope all is well.  Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this problem.
My HP Pavilian m7050y & Monitor HP vs 19c keeps crashing after installing windows 7.
I knew there was a problem when I first installed windows, because the windows logo was not centered on the monitor after intial startups.  I did adjust it a little by pressing auto/select on my monitor, and that helped with the centering a bit but it is not perfectly centered.
The screen goes blue and this is the message I get when it crashes and restarts.

Did you run the Win 7 Upgrade Advisor to assure that your computer is compatible?  There may be a problem with compatibility.  Also, which version of Win 7 are you running; 32-bit or 64-bit?

  • My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything!

My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything! It used to crash when importing but now I'm at the point where I open the software and after 2 seconds it crashes (nothing connected either). What to do? Can't access any photos

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create a new library and import some test photos then the problem lies with your original library.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If iPhoto crashes while trying to create a new library then try this:
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that fails to help a reinstall of iPhoto is indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all relavant updaters.
P.S.  If you're still running Tiger, 10.4.6, then the above may not apply.  If you're running a newer system you should update your profile so we have a better idea of where you're at.

    ValentinT, welcome to the forum.
There are no drivers available for Windows 8.  I suggest checking in the Control Panel/Sound/Recording to assure that your microphone is selected.  It seems that the Sound is one area that gets changed when updating to Win 8.1.  At least, this is what happened to me.

  • After installing lion, windows 7 boot option disappeared.

I had a macbook with snow leopard and windows 7 together. Yesterday I installed macosx lion. After installing it, windows 7 selection disappeared  in boot  menu. I tried to select boot options by  pressing "alt key".  I saw a new partition which is Recovery HD. There was no bac up files. So what happened to my windows 7 part? How can I restore system?
I tried to use disk utility in lion.  I realized that the name of the windows 7 part was changed, now it is disk1s4 but before it was disk0s3 etc..
I removed my macbook HDD and attach with as external HDD to a desktop computer. But I could not find any solution.
In a forum, Someone suggest to create RAW diskimage  by using a program named "active and undelete"
Firstly delete windows 7 partition on HDD and create new partition. And then  set up it with windows 7 DVD  and use RAW diskimage and restore your old settings.
    is this logical?
Or is there any simple way to rescue my system?   For example If I reinstall Snow Leopard, come my windows 7 partition back?

I could not remember this selection but if I choose one, I choose complete install..

  • My macbook pro crashed after installing maverick. I lost all my photos however the iPhone iPhoto app still has these photos so how can i access the package contents to recover these photos?

My macbook pro crashed after installing maverick. I lost all my photos however the iPhone iPhoto app still has these photos so how can i access the package contents to recover these photos?

We'll need to know more to beable to help. Do you want to try to restore your photos from your iPhone to your Mac, or try to recover the photos from the old iPhoto Library on your Mac?
What is the situation of your Mac now? In hat way did it crash? A hardware problem with the drive? Does the system not start properly? Does iPhoto not launch? Do you still have the iPhoto Library on your mac or a backup, so we could try to rescue the photos there?
What versions of iPhoto are on your iPhone and your Mac?
however the iPhone iPhoto app still has these photos so how can i access the package contents to recover these photos?
On the iPhone you cannot access the "package contents" - IOS hides the file system from the users. To restore photos from your phone share all iPhoto photos to your Camera Roll, that are not already in the Camera Roll,  and then connect the iPhone via USB and import the Camera Roll to iPhoto or Image Capture. Or use any of the other sharing methods described on thos manual page: see:  Ways to share photos http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/?handbuch#blnk7d8f763e
To retrieve photos from a corruptrd iPhoto Library on your Mac we need to know the version number and more about the "crash" you experienced, the state of your mac, the system, the data. Please post back with more details.

  • Entourage crash after installing update 10.6.4

Entourage 2008 keeps crashing after installing 10.6.4. The problem seems to be the database. I have tried rebuilding the database, I have copied it, I have moved it: nothing works. Please advise!

It might help to reset the connection settings on your Mac using these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved, recognizing that, depending on your problem, not all of these steps will make sense:
    1) Use the AirPort menu bar item to turn AirPort off, then on again.
    2) Try to select your Wi-Fi network from the AirPort menu.
    3) In the Network panel of System Preferences delete the AirPort item from the left column, then add it back.
    4) In the same panel as (3), define a new location and see if you can make that work.
    5) In the same panel, select the AirPort connection item, click the "Advanced" button, select the "TCP/IP" tab, then click "Renew DHCP Lease".
    6) In the folder /Library/Preferences ( _not_ <yourhomefolder>/Library/Preferences), move the folder SystemConfiguration onto the Desktop, then restart your computer. See if you can now make your AirPort connection work.
These steps may not help, but they'll only take a couple of minutes to try.  Before you try these, if you have any special network settings on your Mac for things like DSL credentials, note all your network settings, because the latter steps will destroy them.  If you got all the way to the last step, if things don't work any worse than before, you can trash the saved SystemConfiguration folder.

  • Illustrator Crashing after installing OS X 10.10

Anyone have any idea why Illustrator keeps crashing after installing OS X 10.10 Yosemite?
Was working yesterday, but so far has crashed every time I have opened it up this morning,
    TIA

Illustrator CS6 ran fine before I installed OS X 10.10 Yosemite on my MacBook Pro.  But it never ran once afterwards.  When I launch AI CS6, it says it needs a legacy version of Java.  Did anyone else encounter this?  I don't want to install the older version of java without knowing if it'll fix the problem, or what the impact will be to other programs which all seem to run fine after my upgrade to Yosemite.  Any guidance out there?
    Thanks,

My laptop just crashed after installing the new 9.0.2 upgrade. Upon reboot I received a dos screen that said my computer shut down due to a recent download and asked if I wanted to reboot in safe mode or normal mode. • Windows 8 crashes after installing Apple drivers

Due to an electrical storm, I had a 2 partition drive fail. The Mac partition was corrupted, the Windows 8 (via BootCamp) install was fine. However, I couldn't reformat (or even mount) OS X so decided to reinstall both OSes on their own physical drives within a Mac Pro. Mountain Lion restored from a Time Machine backup and I got Windows 8 up and running, via BootCamp, on the other drive. All seemed well until I went to install the Apple drivers/software where upon my restart from the install I got the BSoD. No matter what I do or how many times I restart, it continuously crashes. Curiously, two randomly spouted errors are offered...
    KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
    and
    IQRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The problem seems to be with the Apple drivers. I used the updated BootCamp 5 software. However, I also used BootCamp 4 software after restoring Windows 8 to a clean install, that set of drivers doing exactly what BC5 did. I've stripped my settings back down to initial install, even reformatted the physical drive, re-partitioned via BootCamp and reinstalled Win8. While working correctly, I set up my account, redownloaded apps I installed from Windows Store, restarted to finish those installations; still, the only issue seems to be when I install the Apple offered drivers. I would just not use them but with many of my peripherals being Apple products it's more of a hassle than I care to deal with. And, I had it all working before with no problem. What's wrong this time? Below I list some concerns...
Is there any difference between installing a BootCamp/Win8 partition on a startup drive or another internal harddrive? Once, BootCamp had to be installed on the startup disk.
Is there any way to install just certain drivers from Apple's software pack since best I can find from MS's site is that the errors seem to be one or two driver incompatibilities?
I've installed Win8 updates prior to and after running Apple's software... would this affect the installation of that software either way or system integrity in Win8?
The above are the only two error messages I've seen. Why do they alternate? Is there more than one issue needing to be addressed?
It all worked before, could it be the software offered now? I've tried BootCamp 4, 5; should I try a lower numbered driver set?

My apologies for not following up on this topic.
Yes, I found a fix for my issue. It involved the Time Machine backup drive I had installed.
I reinstalled OS X and Win 8 onto the same drive and experimented pulling drives out of the Mac Pro. However, I never removed the Time Machine drive alone, only took the three extra drives out at the same time so I did not which one was causing the crash. It didn't seem to matter which bay it was in, it was the backup itself that Win 8 didn't work with. My Time Machine backup goes back for over a year so I wasn't interested in starting all over so I removed it from the Mac and installed it in an external enclosure. HOWEVER, if this drive is connected and on while booting up in Win 8 the OS will still crash. Within the Mac, it was impossible to keep the backup from mounting. In the external, I have to remember to disconnect when I switch OSes. Not a fix really, but a solid workaround.
If someone wanted to set up a new backup perhaps that would fix the issue completely. Perhaps it's because OS X/startup disk was restored from the backup and the backup have the same data, maybe it's an issue with data on the backup disk and Windows 8. I don't know. But several times, while switching the OSes I have forgotten to disconnect the now external backup and Win 8 crashes; if I remember to disconnect no issues at all.
