2540 terminal connection

Hi,
I'm in the process of configuring a 2540 storage array and have followed the instructions here
http://docs.sun.com/source/820-0015-11/hwig15xx_ipaddress.html#50458655_pgfId-1023204
to connect a serial terminal using the supplied 6-pin mini-DIN to RJ45 but despite using a selection of different adaptors I don't get any output on the terminal.
I've tried Break and CTRL Break but still nothing.
I'm fairly sure that the ethernet interface hasn't picked up a DHCP address.
Have even tried connecting to a serial port on a laptop without any success.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Now you have to download CAM 6.0.1 from https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_SMI-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=SSTKCAM-6.0.1.11-OTH-G-F@CDS-CDS_SMI, install it, upgrade the array f/w to the latest version (06.70.54.10) and here you go, you can create your pool, profiles and volumes.
Enjoy ;-)

  • Terminal connection to update firmware for HP 9200C

I recently successfully updated the firmware using the Mac OS Terminal connection for the newer HP 9250C Digital Sender.   But when I attempted the same procedure for the older HP 9200C Digial Sender, the terminal command responded with: PT-iMac:~ peterthanney$ ftp 10.0.1.16
ftp: Can't connect to `10.0.1.16': Connection refused
ftp: Can't connect to `10.0.1.16' Is there some setting on the HP 9200C that needs to be changed in order to not get a "Connection refused" message?  Since the two Digital Senders (9200C & 9250C) are nearly identical, why am I getting this message and how can I get access so that firmware can be updated on the 9200C? Please advise.  Thank you.

  • Windows Mail - Server Terminating Connection when ...

This is a message related to a very well established forum full of many, many irate BT customers. I'm posting this long standing complaint here because in the forum I speak of, we are all being totally ignored by BT.
BT, after months of dissatisfaction, can you (a) acknowledge / confirm the problem and (b) fix the problem.
Here is the link to the forum in question - 8 pages worth of extremely dissatisfied and angry posters:
    http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/Windows-Mail-Server-Terminating-Connection-when-download...
If you don't take action, I (and many others, I'm sure) will go public on this issue.
At the end of the day, we don't want to continue paying for service that doesn't deliver!

To both people who replied to my post - I know only to well what forums are for but I'm so angry that all our posts in the forum (the one with 8 pages worth) just evapourate into thin air. You have to question the intrinsic value of at least some of these forums. I don't speak by any means for all forums but in ours we are all at our wits end - and furious because we are paying good money to BT for a "service" that doesn't deliver.
It's not good enough despite you correcting me as to where I should and shouldn't post. Have a look at the forum and you'll see what I mean. Yes - we have supported one another but we now all know exactly what the pronblem is after many months. The Sage has made around 4 posts all of which advocate we should all change to IMAP but this is missing the whole point. Our BT e-mail service is supposed to work through POP3 and indeed BT has standard POP3 settings for mail clients.
Myself and numerous people have been through all the official help and support channels to no avail. Customer Service is really poor. They tell you to follow a standard set of instructions by way of a "fix" but they refuse to recognise the issues we have.
But to finish, where do we all go from here when (a) many people have known for months what the issue is - it's a BT Yahoo server-side problem and (b) many people have reported this long standing issue (since Feb-12 or earlier) through the official BT support channels and still nothing has been done.
OK. No more posts from me. I'm at my wits end and both your replies have discouraged me from participating any longer. Very disappointing.

  • Create Terminal connection shortcut on desktop?

How do I create a desktop shortcut to my added remote connection(telnet) in Terminal application?

    Thank you nbar.
I was able to make the shortcut.
Is there a way that I can have a shortcut open my server connection directly?
The shortcut opens Terminal...but I still have to make 5 additional clicks to open up the remote telent connection.
      [Shell>New Connection>Remote Login (Telnet)>+select IP+Click Connect]

  • Optional Terminal connected ? How to detect ?

I am wondering wether I can make a detection
wether a optinal input terminal is coonected or not ?
Depending on this I want to carry out different cases.
One way I see is defining a stupid default value and then
crosschecking over a case structure. Wether this stupid value is
    applid or another.
But actually I don t like this idea because it is no proper solution I
    think.
But I was wondering wether somebody has a better Idea ?
Can I check directly Teminal ... connected or not ?
    Thanks in advance
    Sascha

    Sascha,
There is not a a way to directly check wether or not the terminal is connected. If you take a look at the file open VI you will notice that the default is and presumably there is a case statement which checks for this value and pops up a file dialog if it finds it.
Perhapse you may want to approach the problem from an other angel. Maybe making the VI take a boolean which will change its behaviour from the wired to the unwired mode.
    Hope this helps!

  • Help with SCB-68 Terminal Connections...

Hello, I am beginning the installation of a new labview (software and hardware) purchase and would like to know...
Using the SCB-68 in a CA-1000, what terminal numbers do I connect:
    1.Type K connector panelette
    2.BNC connector panelette
    3.Dual 9-pin D-sub connector block
I would greatly appreciate any assistance with this question and any other advice that may help...we are new at this thing and would like to advance the installation as quickly as possible. Thanks! Scott.

    Hello Scott,
Which connections are you concerned with - where to place the panelletes on the CA-1000 case, or how to connect the back of the panellete connections to the SCB-68.
The order of the panelletes on the CA-1000 is not an issue. The order you place them in is merely a cosmetic choice.
For making direct connections on the SCB-68, this will depend on the pinout of the DAQ card you plan to use. The pinout is available in the product manual which you may find by searching at the NI Product Manuals webpage.
If you are unable to determine the information you need from analyzing the manuals, then respond back with information on what type of signals you will be trying to measure (i.e. analog voltage, tem
perature, digital, etc.) and I'll see how I can help.
    Best of luck.

  • My printers works fine on my home network but disappears on a remote desktop terminal connection

As I don't really know how to post a general addition to the knowledge base, I'm doing in Jeopardy style.  Here is the question to the above answer.  Well close enough.
Many people have reported all over the net issues with printers working just fine on their home network  but disappearing when they connect to a server via RDT.  There are some legit updates needed where windows did not see anything but LPT and COM ports for printer re-direction assignment.  There are Mr. Fix it's for those and registry patches.  When all of that fails, the information highway seems to dead end.
Here is what I learned today via 2 specific printers:  HP1022 and HP2840 lasjerjets.
After many months of frustration and 7 1/2 hours with Microsoft advanced prof support I've finally pinned down this printer and a slew of others.  This problem as far as I have come across deals exclusively with HP printers.  In simple terms:  the drivers are flawed.  This 1022 is a prime example.  It prints locally and via TCP/IP just fine. I have about 7 other printers and dummy printers in my printer folder.  Enter a remote desktop session and ALL of them populate except the 1022.  This shows that the hooks and RDT finders are locating your printers and installing them properly as remote printers.  All except the 1022.
Log out of your RDT session: goto the local 1022 setup and change the printer driver to a PCL driver.  I used a 1200 PCL driver.  Now log back into your RDT server and hockus pocus! there is your printer.  Totally un-usable because the driver will not run this printer.  Caveat:  each time I did this XP crashed (I couldn't get to the properties TAB anymore -- I had to un-install the 1022 and then re-install it with at least 1 reboot in the process)
Moving on we go to the HP OfficeJet/LajerJet2840.  Same thing.  It won't pass through as remote printer in RDT.  Go local.  Set the printer driver to AppleLaserWriter8500 and boom. (same logout, change, back in steps) and your LJ2840 shows up and works.
While I will have to wait until tomorrow I am betting that this will fix the exact same problem with the HP Officejet 8500A all in one with the exact same problem.
Hey HP?  Whats with the drivers??
Another work around if you have a static enough environment is to install your local printer that will not show up under RDT on the server, and then point the port to your fixed IP on your router, and passthru port 9100 to your locally installed printer that is failing.  You can now be on RDT and chooses the network printer that is printing to the TCP address of your home (or office) router.

  • Just bought an Epson 2540 Printer, connects with iPhone but not Macbook Pro

I am able to print from my iPhone but not my Macbook Pro. Wireless test page worked fine. Turned on Sharing option, turned off firewall, and still does not connect. This is very frustrating, please help

You may have to visit the Epson website and make sure your printer has drivers updated for Mavericks:
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportMavericks.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=y es
Updating the drivers through this link should fix your issue. Post if there's any problem.

Just joined the forum.  I have had this problem for months now and thought it was my laptop which was getting very slow. Setting up Outlook on a desktop PC I find I have the same problem so started looking on the web for answers and found this thread.  I live only metres from the exchange, so speed is not a problem.  Also all emails fail several times during download whether with attachments or not.  Very frustrating.  Still, I have decided to move to another ISP in November once my contract finishes.  Any recommendations would be welcome.

    Silverdog,
Based on the limited details you have provided it may be that you have particular problems.
I would suggest that you re-post in the
    BTCare Community Forums
    Broadband
    Other BB Queries  section.
starting a new thread on "Frequent Failures downloading emails".
Give details of your operating system, email client, and ADSL details from your router, and the community may be able to help you.
I would think twice about moving ISP as while BT Customer Care needs to improve most other ISPs are equally bad or worse.

  • Error when connecting to terminal

    Hello,
    I have a BB 8100, Desktop manager 4.6.
Synchronization was working correctly 3-4 weeks ago.
Today, when I tried to synchronize, I had this error message:
    0 x 80040fb3
I tried to debug this with the procedure of modifying Last name, first name, etc.... with no success
I tried several time to synchronize again but without success.
Now, the situation is even worse!
New message when I connect my BB to my computer. When I launch Desktop manager, I have the following error:
"Error when connecting to terminal. Make sure that your terminal is correctly connected, then try again"
I can not anymore try to synchronize!
This is very strange, it never happened before.
Nevertheless, Desktop Manager recognize my BB, as I can read on the buttom left part of the screen: Terminal connected (code Pin) recognized xxxxxx.
    HELLLLP!
    Thanks

    Hello RianaZaire,
Unfortunately, I still have the same error Message.
I have not been able to solve the situation.
    I reinstall twice the software.
I tried to connect my Blackberry to my computer with a new cable.
I still have the same error message.
I don't know what to do.
Maybe somebody will read our messages, and help us!
Maybe this information has a link with my blackberry problem:
I also have a problem with an another device. (a TOMTOM GPS system), which happened almost at the same time.
Usually, when I connect this device, it will directly open the GPS sofware ( where I can download the new updating stuff). But since this Blackberry problem, I can not do it anymore. Impossible to connect the TOMTOM onto it. It is not recognize onto my computer.
For information, I also do synchronization of my adress book between my phone and TOMTOM.

  • Problems wiht b/b connection

taken from my router log file and pasted below this sort of thing happens several times a day and every time i loose connection it reports that its waiting for the line to become free, i take it that just like the last time this happened it measn the line card in the exchange i'm connected to has too many customers for the avilable ports, this in turn is locking my line profile down from 7.5 meg (which it maintained for most of the last 2 years) to below 4meg and due to the constant stream of problems which are either cabinet or exchange based (i tried the quiet line test and theres nothing there) i've had my internal wireing tested and still am having all thease problems which i dont understand, the only thing connected to the test socket is the adsl filter which is in turn connected ot the phone and the router, i tried useing 2 different routers with the same results last time this happened, and now i'm stuck wiht a broken connection which the call center in india are worse than useless at sorting out (i tried them 3 times in the last week, there "best solution" was " unplug your routerfor 20 minutes and then swithc it back on" it achieved the square root of sweet FA and its the answer they came up with all 3 times like its a new script option there trying out.

i'd be interested ot here what a mod has to say on the matter, as i already am pretty sure of whats causing the problem (the exchange having too many lines plugged into the card, which is exactly what happened a year ago for 2 weeks) because the exchange is fitted wiht cards that have *10 extra line slots* than there capable of connecting at the same time (because they were cheaper for bt to bulk buy and install than the ones that line matched the DSLAM's the exchange is fitted with) but hey that shouldnt be causeing me problems

and yet again and no doubt several more times during the night i will get this problem as well as a lot more again tomorrow untill bt stop putting too many lines onto the cards, or upgrade the DSLAM's so there able to cope with the line's (probably not going to happen)

  • Making the most of terminal

Now that Terminal supports keychain, I've create connections in the 'Connect to Server' window for each of the 10 servers I connect to on a daily basis.
Is there a way to put these 10 connections in to a window group (so I can open them all at once), or, is there a way to put them in to a folder of shortcuts so I can put them on a stack.
Are there any other things I can do with my terminal connection library that I might not have thought of?
10 named tabs would be great but I'm lead to believe it can't be done.
    Thanks
    Andrew

System Preferences > General > Number of recent items:  set to none.
You might have to go back to Finder > Go Recent Folder and select clear list.

  • Multiple users connected to the same server

    Hi there,
I was wondering if this scenario would be possible to be implemented on a Snow Leopard Server installed on Mac Mini 2.66:
    - one iphone developer that needs to be remotely connected to the server to develop apps
    - one project manager that will handle the project files and documentation. He will login to the server and upload/download files
    - one app GUI designer that will login from time to time, to make the design in photoshop.
Can these 3 users be logged in the same time on the same server without any lag? Or this version of server will only support one user at a time?
    Thank you!

Yes, you can do ssh and terminal connections, but I'm guessing that's not what you want here; I'm guessing you're headed over from X Windows or (more likely) Windows Terminal Services.
Google for Aqua Connect and related for the path that you're headed toward.
In general, Apple Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server runs one seat and one keyboard and one display per station, whether it's an Xserve server or a MacBook or whatever.
