2600 classic - error in connection?

When I attempt to make a phone call, I recieve a "error in connection" and stop sign icon.
I can recieve phone calls, and send messages.
There is there is strange yellow number two icon on top of my screen as well, was never there before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
As you said that you are not able to make calls from your Nokia Device. Did you check if Line 2 is activated or not? To check press "#" key for 5 seconds. If not activated, restore the factory settings under Menu > Settings > Original Factory Settings or try using a different Sim Card & check.

  • IPod Classic Error when connecting - I cant put new music!!

When i plug in my newish (6 month old) IPOD classic to the Mac it immediately tells me -
"Mac OS X cant repair the Disc "... ipod".
You can still open or copy files on the disc but you cant change or save files on the disc.
Back up the disc and reformat it as soon as you can.
Also this balloon comes up -
".... Ipod cannot be synced". You do not have the privelege to make changes."
    This all happened suddenly.
everything was working fine until yesterday.
Sometimes I also need to force eject it to get it out.
And when i attempt to copy a song to my ipod it gives me
    "Unknown Error - -61!!"
If i restore to factory settings do i lose all my music?
    Or if i sync?
Thank you so much for hopefully answering me!!:))

Although your iPod is newish, can you do a Disk Diagnostic, as posted by tt2, you never know, if it has gone for a swim.

  • 2600 Classic, connecting to PC

hi, I have a 2600 Classic, is there a data cable available to be able to connect it to a PC?
otherwise how do you get images you have taken on the phone onto the PC?
i have read somewhere data transfer isn't possible... in which case, what is the port on the side of the phone for, between the headphone socket and charging socket?
    thank you!

WIDCOMM and Microsoft Bluetooth are listed. The WIDCOMM one is checked as this was installed with my Sitecom bluetooth dongle. The MS one is unchecked.
I've tried unchecking both and checking on again but to no avail.
When I go through the "get connected" wizard, PC Suite finds my N95 etc but at the end of the wizard "no phone connected" remains displayed and the red cross in the PC Suite system icon remains. I can, however, send/receive things by bluetooth but as PC Suite isn't recognising it being connected, I can't sync stuff which is the only thing I desperately need to do!

  • 2600 classic battery live

Hi, I just bought a 2600 classic. The battery live should be max. 560 hours, but after 4 days I have to recharge. What can be the reason? **mail address deleted by moderator - please use PM system only**
Message Edited by romanov on 06-Jan-2009 06:55 PM

When phone manufacturers quote a standby time it's under ideal conditions.
Ideal conditions are when the phone has a very strong constant signal and is not being used or moved at all. All data and connectivity features are disabled. No calls, messages or even having it's keys pressed are allowed under testing.
In the real world you'll never get battery life like that.
4 days is very good for that model. My friend has the same phone and only gets 2 days.

  • 2600 Classic, pre-installed games

My 2600 Classic (on AT&T Wireless) came with 3 pre-installed game demos, one of which was Tetris.  Following the links in the phone, I purchased the registered version of Tetris.  I was charged $6.99 USD, the game downloaded, and a screen came up that said the application was now unlocked.  When I tried to start the game there was an error that said that my license was unable to be validated.  After fighting with it for a while and checking all of my network settings, I called AT&T Tech Support.  Get this one...  They said that Tetris is not compatible with the Nokia 2600 Classic model phone.  What a load of **bleep**, Nokia pre-installed the game to begin with.  Nokia has been the only mobile phone brand that I have ever purchased.  In about 15 years, I am on my 6th Nokia phone.  It is really dissapointing to see just how poor their selection of bar phones has become.  This model doesn't even have a calculator any more.

    Hi,
Ive looked on a few download sites for the tetris game and it does not seem to be compatable with the Nokia 2600 like you say.
Maybe you could contact Nokia or at&t  and plead your case for a refund on the download fee. Its down to who put the game software on ! Obviously not java supported.
Silly to impose a demo game on a fone and then does not allow an upgrade.

    Be happy !!

  • Error - Cannot connect to the phone

    Hi all,
have had a dig around and couldn't find anything so I hoping that someone can sort me out here.
Ok I have my phone connected to the pc via bluetooth. PC Suite picks up the phone but when I click on the Contacts or Messages (or anything in that window) it comes up with an error message saying "Cannot connect to the phone"
I have checked the list of supported bluetooth stacks and it should be fine. I have also check the phones compatability and this should also be supported. I can also communicate with the phone through the bluetooth software itself.
    Phone: Nokia 6233
    Bluetooth: ITV Bluesoleil 5.0.5
    OS: Windows Vista
Error: Cannot connect to the phone
If you need anymore info or can help me with this problem in anyway, please drop us a line.
    Cheers for all your help

    Exactly same problem.
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
    Phone: Nokia 6300
    PC Suite version: 6.85.14.1
BlueSoleil Version: 1.6.1.4 (which should be the version supported by latest PC Suite software version as per Nokia web site).
    Bluetooth USB Adapter: Billionton USBBTC1A-B
I can pair the phone with my PC and transfer files using the BlueSoleil software directly, but every time I try to use anything in the Nokia PC Suite (after pairing and authorizing the phone in PC Suite), I get the "Could not connect to the phone" error.
When using "Help --> About Nokia PC Suite... --> Show System Info" function:
    Operating system:
Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 2

    - Microsoft (Version: 5.1.2600, Build: 2180)
    PC Connectivity Solution:
    Version 7.37.22.0
Why the only Bluetooth stack detected is the Microsoft one? Why is BlueSoleil stack not detected?
How do I use Microsoft Bluetooth stack (at least to see if my Bluetooth USB Adapter works with it)??
Is this problem going to be solved soon? Is there something I can do without the PC Suite apart from transfering files? I can't edit contacts (save changes) with PC Suite even when the .vcf files are in my PC. Is this intended?
    Thanks.

  • N6500 Classic: PC Suite Connectivity

    Hi,
After reading the forums, it seems like a lot of ppl have faced a problem similar to the described below, so any help will be much appreciated
    1) I've downloaded and installed the latest version of PC Suite for N6500 Classic, as provided by the Nokia website (v 6.85.14.1)
    2) My laptop runs Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 2
When I try to connect using the USB cable provided, I get the following error when connecting using the PC Suite mode)
PC Suite does not recognise the connected phone. The connection between the PC and the phone failed, error code 0x80200006. Switch off your phone, switch it on, and try again
Turning on/off does not help (obviously!)
Interestingly, if I connect in the Data Storage mode (and not the PC Suite mode), I can connect to the phone and browse the folders etc from my laptop
I'm not looking at doing too much - just want to be able to move my contacts from outlook to the phone!
If anyone has any recommendations, I'd be very greatful.
    Thanks!

i've got the same problem with my E61.....
    if someone can help...

  • Creating new Data Source Error - Database connection Failed

Successfully installed and configured 11.1.1.3.0. Planning and Essbase dev.
Went to Workspace > Administer > Classing Planning Administration > Manage Data Sources > Create Data Source.
Entered all info about the application database , etc. Getting error "The database connection failed" (I was able to connect with no problem during the install)
SQL server 2005 is on the same physical server.
The diagnostic tool shows database connection passed for planning. A new database was created for the new application.
The server event viewer shows these errors.
"Login failed for user 'xxx-hyperion'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection."
Group Policy Error "The client-side extension could not apply computer policy settings for 'Default Domain Policy {xxx}' because it failed with error code '0x80070003 The system cannot find the path specified.' See trace file for more details. "
The Group Policy client-side extension Group Policy Services failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Datasource for the application.
I have created a sql db for this planning application (my datasource). See my first message for more details.
When you create a new planning application, you need to associate it with a data source. Since this is a new install, I don't have any data sources available yet.
So, "To create, edit or delete data sources, click Manage Data Source."
This page lets you validate your connection to the database and essbase server. My essbase server connection validates! The database connection does not validate after I enter all the relevant information.

So it does not let me create a data source for my new planning application, so I cannot create a new planning application.

  • I have lost the ability to upload files to a website. I have to transfer files from my computer to a web site and I get an error message "connection was reset" and the file will not upload. I try to transfer pictures and I get the same message.

I have to upload a scanned receipt to a website and I get the error message "connection was reset". I have uploaded these receipt for two years and last week I have had to use another browser to complete this operation. I connect to the website and do the report I must do, but I can no longer upload to this site.

Are you using any additional software for the uploading?
Try using Firefox in [[safe mode]] when you upload. There is no need to make changes when you see the option. Disable all plugins whilst in safe mode. Then try the uploads.
You mention [/questions/921993 elsethread] that it is a work site. Have you contacted your IT department. One possibility is that the site is not recognising Firefox 10.
(One temporary workaround and troubleshhooting test would be to install Firefox3.6.27 [http://portableapps.com/news/2012-02-01_-_firefox_portable_3.6.26_released portable] as an additional browser and try that.)

  • Android MS RDP - RPC Error: Your connection was denied because of a Resource Access Policy (TS_RAP). Please contact your server administrator. (2147965402).

I love iTap Mobile.  Paid for the app.  Sorry to see them discontinue it, but now I know why.  Microsoft bought them out!  But even though free, I am getting an error: RPC Error: Your connection was denied because of a Resource Access
Policy (TS_RAP). Please contact your server administrator. (2147965402).  I worked with iTap to fix this so I guess they sold Microsoft their older buggy code...  Microsoft, please fix!
PS: This is the Android version.  Mac and iOS are both okay.
EDIT:  After an update a few months ago, iOS is no longer working.  Not sure if the problem is related to the Android MSRDP issue.
UPDATE - Relevant posts (need Android RDP software engineer to fix):
Event Viewer Log when using Android client:
    The user
"DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", met connection authorization policy requirements and was therefore authorized to access the RD Gateway server. The following authentication method was used: "NTLM". (This
is most likely for logging into RD Web - icons shows up).
    The
user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", did not meet resource authorization policy requirements and was therefore not authorized to resource"localhost".
The following error occurred: "23002".  (This is after clicking on any
    of the icons).
    I
think the Android MS RDP client is providing the incorrect resource.  It shouldn't be "localhost".
It should be the RD Connection Broker's hostname, I believe.
Here's what it should look like (connected using a Windows PC going
through the RD Web portal via Internet Explorer):
The user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", met connection
authorization policy requirements and was therefore authorized to access the RD Gateway server. The following authentication method was used: "NTLM".
The user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", met resource
authorization policy requirements and was therefore authorized to connect to resource "rdsfarm.domain.com".
The user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", connected
    to resource "rdsfarm.domain.com".
    Stephan,
Do you have any way to contact the software engineer who worked on the Android version of the RDP client?  Please
have them read this thread.  They need to fix the hard coded "localhost" resource to be a variable (namely whatever the user put in for the server).
This is why the MS RDP app is failing in situations where the FQDN for the RD Gateway and Connection Broker uses
    the same host name.
Again, this is not a configuration problem on our end as it works as intended with the native Windows RDP client
as well as the Mac and iOS version of the mobile RDP client (all based on iTap Mobile's RDP app).
This is a problem specific to the Android RDP app.
PS: No matter how hard I try, the WYSIWYG editor is not very WYSIWYG at all, and so everything here looks messed up even though it looked right when I posted it (it is deleting new blank lines I'm inserting to make it spaced out and easier to read). See
below to read the post in context.

Thanks for the bumps, everyone.  I haven't check this thread in a while because I basically gave up on Microsoft's ability to respond.  Unlike paid apps, there's no number to call or ticket to open when an app like this malfunctions.
Just to give you an update, iOS users started having issues connecting a few months ago.  I don't remember what version started this.  I'm not sure if it's the same problem.
Also, the newest version now gives a slightly different error message:  RpcOverHttpEndpointException: 2, Your connection was denied because of a Resource Access Policy (TS_RAP).  Please contact your server administrator.
For Android users, I am starting to recommend Xtralogic Remote Desktop Client.  It's a paid app, but it works great.  I don't know of any alternative for iOS.
MSRDP for Mac OSX (was also an iTap application) continues to work throughout the many updates.
We need a software engineer from MS to read my first post.  All the information that will point to a fix is there.  I strongly believe someone hardcoded the string "localhost" instead of using a variable to point to the FQDN of the rdsfarm
    name.
Here's that info again (copied/pasted).  It doesn't take an engineer to understand the issue.  If you know how to decipher Event Logs, you can see where the problem is.
    Event
Viewer Log when using Android client:
