  • HT4623 I am unable to use my iPhone 3GS as an ipod, its stuck on activating your iPhone, sometimes i get an error server is busy or there's no sim card installed, and I am using an activated AT&T sim card, does anyone have any suggestions?

I am unable to use my Iphone 3GS as an Ipod, my Iphone is stuck on activating your iphone, I am using an activated AT&T sim card.  Does anyone have any ideas on how I cn bypass the activation screen to use my iphone as an Ipod.

you can't bypass activation.  Your phone needs to be activated for any of the functions to work.
This problem happens often to phones previously jailbroken.  Is this the case?

  • HT1688 I have a damaged I-Phone and I need the contents of my calendar off of it. I did not have Mobile me at the time.  Can I swap out the sim card from the broken phone to a new phone and recover this calendar?

I have an older I-Phone (3G) that for some reason the body of the phone has split in two.  This phone was a business phone and it had a lot of important information on it. I have a second phone that is also a 3G.  On the broken phone there is a lot of important information that I need in my calendar. Im not worried about anything else but the calendar.  I didn't have the Mobile Me account at that time or I would be having this problem. Does anybody know if I can ust switch out the sim cards. I just need to recover the old calendar, so im hoping that the calendar will transfer when I switch the sim card into the good 3G. If that doesn't work does anybody know of anyway that I can retrieve this information off of this phone?

Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone.  If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events.  Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.

  • Can I swap out a iPhone 4 sim card into a iPhone 5 with the same carrier?

Here is the situation.  I used to have Sprint as my personal cellphone carrier and just had bought an iPhone 5 when my employer put me on a business cellphone plan that they pay for.  They bought one of the bargain basement original iPhone 4 handsets (not to be confused with the 4S) for employees to use, also on the Sprint network.  The phone is owned by them; the plan is paid for by them.  We just get to use it.  As a result, I decided to just close out my personal cellphone account, even though it was a better phone.  I used my 64GB iPhone 5 as my iPod, it worked great for music, apps, books, etc that I needed, and I just used the 8GB iPhone 4 just for phone calls and text messages.
Well recently, with the 5C and 5S being released, I wanted to know if the iPhone 4 could be upgraded by my employer to a new handset, preferably a 32 GB 5C or a 16 GB 5S.  My employer has been slow to respond, because there are so many employee accounts to weed through and most are perfectly fine with an older phone.  I am not, because the new operating system is slower on an iPhone 4 than an iPhone 5.
I want to ask my employer if its possible to get the SIM card from the iPhone 4 just swapped out into the iPhone 5.  Is that possible?  I understand that there is a size difference in the SIM cards.  Is this something I could do myself, just pop it out and pop it in in the new handset?  Or is this something that will require going to my employer to do, or to a Sprint store and have them do it?  Do I have to be concerned with warranties being voided if I want to do this? (Keep in mind the iPhone 4 is my EMPLOYER's property, and they pay the bill as well.  My inactive iPhone 5 is MY PROPERTY and has no current cellular service.)

I want to ask my employer if its possible to get the SIM card from the iPhone 4 just swapped out into the iPhone 5.  Is that possible?
No, iPhone 4/4S uses micro-sim and iPhone 5/5C/5S uses nano-sim.

  • How to use SIM card slot on W500

I found there is a slot for SIM card when I pull the battery out. I insert my SIM card and start the computer, however it won't recognize. I download and install Mobile Connect software, I got "no device found" message. How to use this function?

    Hello LeadOrg:
    Thanks for that reply.
What confuses me is this:  There seems to be two or maybe three different cards available, as follows:
Vodafone and AT&T - HSDPA wireless WAN, which seems to address the following two items:
      - Ericsson HSDPA Wireless WAN Adapter
      - Qualcomm UNDP Wireless WAN Adapter
Verizon Wireless WAN (UNDP), which seems to address the following one item:
       - Qualcomm HS-USB
I can't find any specifications in the Lenovo literature that clarifies which of the above items are suitable for GSM-900 and GSM-1800 (the frequencies used in Europe) and which of these items are suitable for GSM-850 and GSM-1900 (the frequencies used i Oz, USA, and Canada).
Further, Lenovo seems to be linking these two products to specific carriers (Vodafone and AT&T in one case, Verizon in the other case), and I use neither one of these companies - they don't operate in Canada.  I use Rogers GSM when I am in Canada and Swisscom GSM when I am in Europe.
I am quite confused.  I'd like to get a card that works with the two above carriers - but I don't know how to go about the process of selecting the appropriate card.  The whole HSDPA, HS-USB and UNDP business totally confuses me.  I always thought that UNDP was the United Nations Development Program...

  • Switching from a 4g to 3g phone and then back ..weekly.. sim card?

If this has been asked already I apologize...I've seen different answers and I just want to get it straight.
If I have a 4g phone ( sim card) and want to go back to a 3g phone (I'd like to do this several times a week). How can I do this without requiring a new sim card? Before, between 3g phones, all I had to do was call *228 and that was that...can anyone explain the easy way to do this?

So I got a Samsung s4 when it was free upgrade and then I switched back to my basic cell phone so I could give the S4 away., I've done this switching from smartphone to basic phone multiple times in the past and each time they removed the data plan after I switched back to a basic phone.
This is exactly why they changed the policy. They were losing money on the smartphone you would by, but then only pay access charge for voice and no data. The data profit was built into their business model to pay for the higher price of the smartphone.

  • O2 - The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported

I just sold my iPhone recently to a guy who has now gone out to Libya for a while, the phone worked fine on iOS 4 with Three, and was offically unlocked by O2 and worked on O2 and Vodafone before selling it, however now he has gone out to Libya the phone is not activating and iTunes is just saying...
"The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported."
What does this mean, he has tried the SIM card in another iPhone and it works fine but it won't work in my old one.
What can be done, I am unsure why iTunes won't activate what is clearly an unlocked iPhone.

The likely answer is that no one knows. Or everyone is too busy talking about the latest press release from Apple.
As long as it was unlocked by a carrier and not by jailbreaking it should work on any GSM network. So the problem is most likely with the SIM your buyer is trying to use. It's either defective or it doesn't have a plan that is compatible with the iPhone.

  • I bought iphone4 in china,  and it broken when I was in USA. After I sending to your company. You send me a new phone, but this phone is locked phone. I can't use it. Because my sim card is from china

I bought iphone4 in china, the ss number is 82044JAVA4S, and it broken when I was in USA. After I sending to your company. You send me a new phone, but this phone is locked phone. I can't use it. Because my sim card is from china, so I think you shoulu give me a unlocked one.

    I understand your frustration.
Fortunately for you, you can make your new phone to work; but to do so, you have to call your Chineese carrier and give them the IMEI number found on the SIM card of your iPhone.
They will then activate it and you will be able to use it.
It's NOT a matter of locked/unloked phone; it's a matter of activating (pairing) a SIM card with a phone !
Just call you Chineese carrier and have them register your SIM card with your new iPhone and you will be back in Business !

  • HT1937 Can anybody send me a SIM card for my iPhone 3GS ?

I just bought a used iPhone 3GS 32gb black and they didn't send me a AT&T sims card paid $205 +shipping + tax $25 shipp$15  5-10 business day from great vine tx, didn't get until 2 days later

I think you will need to have the carrier supply you with a SIM.  No one here will send you one.  We are just Apple users like you.

  • Updating of contacts in SIM card

When we purchased a new iPhone, it does not contain any new entries in the contact so we can copy all the entries over from the SIM card. If there is an update to the existing contact (e.g. new mobile number) and we have made the changes, is there a way to sync the changes to the SIM card as well?

And doing so is very limited, which can include a name, a couple of phone numbers, and maybe an email address for each contact. The iPhone supports entering a home and business physical address, company name and title, multiple phone numbers and email addresses, instant messaging addresses, birthday, anniversary, and a notes section. Can't store all this for a contact on a SIM card.
And if your phone is lost or stolen, what difference would this make? NONE.
Your contacts should be available with an address book on your computer regardless if you have an iPhone or any cell phone.
The iPhone is designed to be synced with a supported address book application on your computer and since you are already using iTunes anyway, you might as well include syncing contacts with the sync process and be confident your contacts are also available on your computer in the event your iPhone is lost or stolen.

  • HT4061 "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported." problem

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 4S that I bought and used in the US from ATT carrier. After I moved to India, I had requested ATT for the unlock which is approved. But the following message is displayed while trying to restore the same iPhone in India using another SIM card:
The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
The SIM card that you currently installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.
Can anyone suggest what should be done to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Sri.

  • Nokia e65 on Optus $49 bus. cap. "Allow SIM card t...

    Hi,
I recently bought a Nokia e65 and connected to an Optus $49 business cap.
I kept receiving the message "Allow SIM card to send message?" (With OK or cancel), every few minutes.
I went into the settings and set 'Ask on Sim Services' (or something like that) to NO, which stopped the prompts.
Every few minutes the phone keeps telling me "sending text message". What do these "text messages" do and where are they going?
    Thanks in Advance,

  • IPAD2 Toronto Sim Card Sharing Bell

I have an ipad and I am going to stay up till 1am and buy the hubby an ipad 2. Now to get to the question. I have a Bell sim card in my ipad. Does anyone know if I can take mine out and place it in the ipad 2 and he's good to go after setting it up? I already have an existing data plan but I only use wifi. I called Bell and get this, they had NO clue. The gal I talked to says if you pay the bill, it doesn't matter who uses it. huh? I am not talking about sharing.
Also, those of you in the states that ordered online, did you have issues at 1am? Was it too busy or? I have no desire to stand at Best Buy on my birthday to get an ipad for the hubby. I love him but...

I believe Bell Canada ties the sim card to the IMEI number of the iPad. You can transfer ur sim to the new iPad 2 but you will need to call Bell Mobility so they can update your new IMEI.
    Regards

  • Sim Card prob

I know that other people are having this problem; I've looked through the forum, but haven't found any actual solutions or reasons.. So I will repost this and hopefully someone will answer.
I have the original iphone with at&t service. My phone has been working perfectly fine for the last solid year, but ever since about 1-2 weeks ago my service keeps cutting out or it tells me that I don't have a sim card. I restart it, I restore it.. sometimes it works, sometimes it does't. However, even if it does work it doesn't stay fixed..
My business depends on my phone; I've already missed two very important calls because of it...so to say the least I am extremely frustrated.
There is nothing on apple's technical support section about it, and I am not even going to bother with going to at&t for a simcard or whatever, because as stated before it was working perfectly fine just a bit ago..so it's something external not hardware. Just noone is fessing up to messing up.

    Hello,
It's sounds like your sim card may have came loose and is connecting then disconnecting. Have you ever dropped your phone, or gave it a good bang by " accident " ?
I HIGHLY doubt it has anything to do with AT&T since i've been with them for years, but I did have the same problem with another phone and it was due to the sim card simply coming loose from a fumble.
You might want to take it to Apple and have them take a look, I think it would be worth it, wouldn't you?
