2630 Text messaging- how do I access my contacts?

I've just been given a 2630 by my employer and I'm having difficulty with text messaging, how do I access my contacts? When I try to create a message it says To: and then seems to expect me to input a phone number, surely it is possible just to pick the number from my contacts list? Is there a way of creating a "favourites" list?

This is what you do. When you create a message and get the To:, Click Option>Add Recipient. This should bring you to your contacts.

I had the same problem a year ago when I did an iOS upgrade. Now if I receive an important photo I save it to the Camera Roll
No way I know of to retrieve them unless you have a very recent backup to restore from maybe?

It sounds like you have the same Apple ID signed into both devices.
You can go into Settings > Messages > Send and Receive at > Uncheck your daughters number and you will no longer receive those messages. Also make sure you uncheck her email address and on her device make sure your number is not selected.
What happens in iOS 6 is any number that is signed into Messages with Apple ID allows that number to be available for all devices with that Apple ID signed into iMessage.

Your contacts are in contacts not in mail, but if you start to type the first few letters of the contact in the "To" field in the email, mail will complete the contacts for you.

You can plug a new phone in and restore the backup from your computer. As has already been stated, however, contacts are NOT part of the backup. If they were restored when you restored your phone previously, they either had to come from an address book on your computer or a cloud service you were syncing to (Exchange, Yahoo, gmail, etc.).
Most likely, you set up the contact sync when you first got your phone and never thought about it again. Just because you don't actually open and use the address book on your computer doesn't mean it isn't there.
On Windows, look in Windows Address book or Outlook. If you had an Exchange account, Yahoo account, or G-Mail account (set up as Exchange), look at the contacts on the server.
Even if you could save contacts to the SIM, you would only get a small fraction of the information that can be entered for each contact.

I was sent a text message with pictures which became a slideshow. I cant save the slideshow to my pictures. No menu pops up, only a slide show count down. How do i save the slideshow into my pictures?

It is possible to save it into the memory card of the phone.
You would open the message where you received the slideshow.
While you see the slideshow touch and hold over it, a sub-menu will then open with the option to save it.

YOu hold down on the text message until you see copy/more - select more - you'll see the options.

AFTER receiving a text message, how to turn off sound on Palm Pre

Someone has to help me with this, because I'm at my wits' end! I used to have a Palm Centro, and really, any other phone before my new Palm Pre, goes something like this:
1. You get a notification ring(s) when you receive a new voicemail or text message
2. You press the volume button, hit the screen, etc
3. THE NOTIFICATION RINGS STOP!!!!
Does Palm Pre not have that capability? If I'm texting back and forth with someone, I have to listen to the WHOLE THING EVERY TIME? Tell me that Palm has thought of a way to fix this, because it's driving me batty. It's the only thing I completely hate about this phone, and I can't find anyone here that has had the same issue...

I don't know about anyone else, I get the notification for everything that happens: for IM's, texts, when I charge the battery, when I'm low in battery, etc. The issue that I have, and that I hope someone has the solution, is that from my old Palm Centro, and really, every phone I've ever owned, there was something I could press that would stop the notification! Nothing stops the notification though! and it's a good 30 seconds... Which is not a big deal when it's one text message, but when it's 4 texts messages going, it never stops!

I have an iphone 5, i have stupidly never done a back up! And deleted a contact. When i search the phone text messages still come up from this contact but arent in my message inbox. Is there any way i can retrieve this contact?
