27 GB of music only shows as 15 GB on iPod?

On iTunes I have 27 GB of music, and I drag and dropped all my songs (Ctrl+A) onto my 32g iPod touch, but when I click Musicm it says I only have 15 GB of music on my iPod. Even weirder, I have more songs on my iPod than on my computer? (iPod=3859, iTunes=3856) The iPod is new btw.

It would appear that the iPod hard drive or iPod software has become corrupt. This doesn't mean that the songs are not on your iPod, hence the fact that the iPod reports used space and iTunes may show them. I've never seen a plausible explanation for why it does this although an incorrect disconnection from the computer may do so.
You should restore the iPod and then reload the songs from iTunes.

Some of my albums only show up under the 'album' category. When I search under artist manually they will show up but when I search under the artist list tab they are not listed. What am I doing wrong?

Found out the solution.
Go to settings/Music/ then turn off group by album artist. I am not sure why this works, but it does. Thanks to previous posters who answered the question.

Why is some of my music only showing up in the my video playlists?

There are a number of songs that are only appearing in the playlists under 'Video.' And they aren't appearing in my main music library at all. I mean they still play and everything, but I'm a complete organization freak. And this is driving me up the wall.
Not to mention, the TV shows that I've purchased, keep deleting everytime I plug my iPod in. And I have to manually resync those on to it everytime. Is that normal?

In your sync boxes for TV shows have you checked the box for remove after viewing and/or don't sync after viewing?

I have synced my Ipod with my itunes account and it shows that is syncing and also uses up the space in the Nano however the music does not show up on the ipod. I have gone back to the apple store and gotten a new ipod and the same thing is happening.

Check out the troubleshooting assistant in the first article below. It will walk you through a few simple steps like restarting your iPod nano and changing ports on your Mac. Another troubleshooting option is to put your iPod nano into disk mode and then plug it in and see if iTunes recognizes it to be restored.

HT1296 how do I get the music and shows off of my old ipod to my computer then off the computer to my new ipod touch?

Mini to stereo receiver for music only vs. CD player or ipod

Thinking of ditching my CD player and just ripping 'em all to itunes on my Mini and connecting it directly to my stereo receiver. I figure that with an external HD I can pip them at CD quality rather than mp3 with an ipod. Any problems with this thinking? Is the quality coming out of the Mini's headphone jack good enough to match my CD player? Thanks for any advice on this!

Absolutely. A lot of people are doing it. You can put all those CDs away somewhere and not have them taking up living space (if that's a priority).
Using Apple Lossless compression you'll have results that are indistinguishable from the CDs. If you're not a critical listener you can probably get by with 256kb/s or 320kb/s MP3 (or AAC - Apple compressed), as that sounds exactly the same as the original source for 80-90% of people.

No. The headphone jack has only average fidelity. For CD-like sound quality, you'll want to get a quality, external A-to-D converter (analog-to-digital). Examples:

Music Vids show as Movies on the Ipod

My music vids are loading on my ipod as movies , so everytime a song is done i have to select the next manually , is there a way i can set these up as music videos in Itunes , or have a flow setting on my ipod ?

Is there *Media Type* set to *Music Video* in iTunes? You can check by right->clicking on a music video and choosing "Get Info". Then under the Options tab, there is a section with a drop down list to change the tracks *Media Type*.

I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

Is there a way to hide songs/albumbs in itunes match only on certain devices?
for example, I have a huge collection of songs, and my wife only wants to see 'her stuff' on her iphone.

You can only use one Apple id for your iTunes match.
At present there is no way to hide selected songs.
Whilst all the music will show on you wife's iphone, she could create playlist(s) on your computer to include only her songs.

If they are iTunes purchased music then go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and turn off Show All.
Next
