    While the Apple site is not saying (I think they love the hype) other sites are reporting that you can pre-order your ipad air and pick it up on Nov.1st without waiting in line. I suggest you call the store you're going to and make sure, though you might get the 'we don't know' response as often happens.

If you're on the Central Coast in CA, do you really have to drive that far to an Apple store?! Given Apple's a CA company, I thought there would be more available to you.

  • Destiny PS4 bundle Unavailable for in store pickup...

    I've decided to purchase that awesome glacier white PS4 coming out in September, but it seems that it's unavailable at my local store for in-store pickup. Is this a supply issue? I'd love to get it release day (like everyone else) so is it possible that more PS4's could be allocated to my store in the next week or two? I'm trying to preorder online for in store pickup, if that helps.

    There isn't much else we can add beyond what jac522 has already mentioned -- quantities of the Glacier White PS4 bundle are limited, just like the Ghost and Limited editions. The best advice we can give would be to keep an eye on BestBuy.com for updates.

  • When will my laptop be available for in store pickup

    I ordered a dell inspiron 14 7000 yesterday night, Order Number: {Removed per Forum Guidelines}. It originally said the item would be ready for in store pickup on Sunday March 9th. I didn't think items were delivered to stores on weekends. Is this not true? I just looked as if I was to order it today for in store pickup, and it said that it wouldn't be available until Thursday March 13. Did I meet a cutoff last night to have it Sunday? I really hope to receive m laptop this weekend.

  • Order online for in-store pick up today? I don't think so.

    I placed an order online with BestBuy.com today and, after checking the inventory of my closest Best Buy store, selected "in store pick up today" to fulfill my order and receive my items. Shortly thereafter, I received my order confirmation indicating that I should wait until I received an order fulfillment email - "We will send another e-mail notifying you when your order is ready for pickup. This notification will arrive in less than 45 minutes, as it takes us just a little time to get items ready for pickup in our stores."
    Now, maybe I am a complete fool for thinking that when I am told I would receive my order fulfillment notification in 45 minutes or less that I should actually receive that email...but after NOT receiving said email, I opted to go to the store 2 hours after receiving my confirmation email. Naturally, there is a COMPLETE disconnect between the in-store system and online and the poor in store folks had to hear my frustration with the order not being completed as indicated. When I returned home, I called Best Buy customer service to better understand why "Pick up in store today" does not actually mean today and that receiving an email saying it would be fulfilled in 45 minutes or less does not actually mean that would happen. After being spoken to like a complete child on the phone, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that I was in fact speaking to the supervisor. Imagine my surprise! This person had no explanation for any timeline as to when my order would be fulfilled and was belittling in her tone and verbage.
    This is the second time I have made the mistake of purchasing from Best Buy. And I will never make this mistake again. They should think about a re-branding as "really good deals but utter incompetency in customer service." When you indicate to a customer that their order will be fulfilled "today" and in 45 minutes no less, then you should actually see to completing that order.

I'd be disappointed too if an order I placed wasn't ready for pickup immediately, especially if in-store associates weren't able to shed any light on the situation.
    In most cases, orders placed on BestBuy.com can be fulfilled in a few short hours. From time to time, however, individual orders may be held for review by our support team if additional payment authorization proves necessary. When this occurs, it may result in a 1-2 business day delay before an affected order can be fulfilled. Additional processing time may also be required for select product categories, such as items requiring service activation (ex: mobile phones), special order items, major appliances and large-screen TVs.
    That being said, I was able to locate your account using the e-mail address you used to register for the forum and it appears you were able to pick up your order last night. If you require assistance with any other issues though, don't hesitate to let us know.

  • Custom Configuration options for new U430

    I would like to buy U430 laptop, but I don't see how I can configure options like CPU, Memory Size etc...
    I just have an option to select a model and no way to customize it.  Here is the page I go to:

         Yes, you can build a Custom Lenovo Laptop. However, you need to call, or chat on line, with the sales team. The website has some customization options for their ThinkPads, which you can do on line. For example, see the T440s page:

          If you want a U430 Touch, it would be better to know what possible options are available in that system, before you call, or chat. The best way to know this, is to read the part list, in the Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM). Here is the HMM for the U430 Touch:

         Page down to Table 5, Parts List - Overall, on page 69. Part No. 4 is the RAM, 6 is the processor, 7 is the hard drive, 10 is the SSD, 12 is the WLAN.
         Be aware, that not all options, are congruent with some of the other options, that you may want. i.e. I don't think you can have both a hard drive, and a 256 GB SSD, but I don't know. You probably can get the drive, and a 24GB NGFF SSD, as that goes in a different slot. That's why you need to chat/talk with a sales rep.
          Keep in mind that if you custom order a Laptop, it may be more expensive than "standard on line model", but the reps have a certain amount of latitude, and you can still get a good "deal" .
         You may need to wait a little longer for it to be built, and shipped. The upside of this process is, you get the laptop you really want, with the configuration you need!

  • Could not upgrade online and select in-store pickup

    Could not upgrade online and select in-store pickup. I tried several times on my phone and on my computer. Just no option was on site to select for in-store pickup.
    I finally used the chat now to get help. The person said they could help me with this. All this person did did was give me a toll free number to call. I could have just called the toll free number myself, without using the chat now.  When I called the toll free number, the person then passed me along to someone else.  The 3rd CS rep called a store to make sure they had the phones in stock that I was upgrading to. Did this CS rep set me up for in-store pickup? No,, again I was given another phone number and name of person to call and talk to. This was the sales clerk at the Verizon store that I use. The sales clerk could not and would not set up an appt. for today (Fri), due to IPhone6 release so have to wait til Sat.
    Not one single CS even attempted to help get my online order placed and to use in-store pickup. I have used online help chat many times with other companies and they always got things set up for you. I hope the store clerk is more helpful than Verizon's customer service was (or lack of service).

  • Reserved for Store Pickup, No pre-order and Ship to Store!

    I'm reading all these discussions and my head is exploding. I was up @ 4am yesterday banging away like you all.
    My criteria was this; I was eligible for upgrade @ $199 with the activation fee waived (sweet). I wanted to pick the phone up at my Apple store because I trust it more then brown.
    When I clicked the pre-order link, there was NO option to have it sent to the store, it could only be sent to my house. Let me repeat that, NO option to send anywhere but house. It even says it "Pre-order your iPhone 4 from the Apple Online Store and we’ll ship it free — directly to your door and ready to use."
    So I went to the reserve in store process. There was NO WAY TO PAY for it up front. Let me repeat that; NO WAY TO PAY for the reserved phone. So I received my confirmation email and said there is a phone waiting for me on the 24th!
    I called 2 Apple stores and chatted online with 3 Apple support people and they ALL, every single 1 of them, said the same exact thing. The only way to pickup in the store is to go through the reservation process. The store will have 2 lines, reserved and general. The reserved will be there all day for you to pick up.
    So, does anyone have some proof that you pre-ordered it, paid for it and have it sent to your Apple store, not your home to pick up?

  • Can I change pre-orders from In-Store Pickup to Ship-to-Home?

    Right out of the gates, I know I'm far from the first person to have concerns about amiibos and pre-orders associated with them.
    I have all of wave 3 as well as the Best Buy exclusive Meta-Knight preordered for In-Store Pickup, but my Wave 2 preorders have been extremely hit or miss thus far. My Little Mac never showed up in store, and when the CS representative there offered to have one shipped to me, it was cancelled. My Pit never showed up, and I was never even given a chance for a contingency. I had just missed out on it entirely.
    My friends who pre-ordered with Ship-to-Home have had little to no issue, so if possible, I would like to change my preorders to be handled that way.
    Overall, and like many others, I'm very disappointed with Best Buy's In-Store Pickup option. As a result, I find myself backing up pre-orders with other retailers. I'm not wild about the concept of preordering with Best Buy being such a gamble. If there's any way to shift me over to Best Buy's more reliable Ship-to-Home option, I would very much like to do it.

    Sadly, as the amiibos are currently sold out online, we would be unable to modify your order for shipping to your home.   • IPhone 6 In-store pickup N/A with AT&T Next-Why not?

    I think a new product launch is a very important thing for any company, even more so for the world famous iPhone & Apple. I reached out to Apple Support Chat today to get more information regarding Apple's iPhone pre-order process.. During my pre-order process, the option for in-store pickup was not available with AT&T Next plans. I am trying to find out WHY this option is not available, yet no Apple Customer Support staff seems to know. I have visited the Apple Store in Corte Madera, CA and now reaching out directly to Apple Chat Support, and I still can't get an answer to my question. This is a huge product launch and company staff should be able to answer questions related to the process, if not, have resources they can reach out to to get the answer.
