2700 Classic - In-car Charger Problems

Hi,
I am new to this forum so not quite sure what to expect but hope there is somone who may be able to assist.
I have just bought an In-Car Micro USB Charger and when I plug it in it does not start charging the phone but instead says 'Please wait' and then after about 20 seconds take me to a 'Select PC Mode:' screen with 3 options, there is no sign of any charging ntaking place!
This is soooooo frustrating, can anybody out there help to throw some light on this problem?

Neil,
sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this phone does not support USB charging. You need to use a charger that fits the very small power socket on the top of the phone. The USB socket is there for PC connectivity as either a memory stick or PC Suite mode so that it can talk to OVI Suite to synch your phone with Outlook etc.

Seems to be a hardware issue and you'll have to get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider, an Apple Store , to see if other 3rd party charger will work at their place.

Ipod Nano/iTrip/Car charger problems.

I recently bought an itrip nano (the one that fits around your ipod) and i originally had a charger for my car, but thanks to the good people at apple I had to buy a new one because no cables would fit the old charger with the itrip plugin.

Alright, I ended up buying a macally car charger that had a USB port that would have a wire that could fit the two together (cost about 40 bucks). Ready to here nice clear music right? (clear enough since i did remove my antenna) Wrong...now I hear this annoying high pitched sound if i turn up my car speakers...I already know the problem with reception when you turn up the ipod volume...so what am I to do??
This isn't a question about reception, ive known for awhile the reception problems that come with these devices. This is a question of that freakin sound, and I'm sure someone is going to tell me that i need to buy something else. Thanks Ipod!

Either that or an expensive retrofit. My last car had a lousy radio so I bought a Sony that had an aux port. There are also some really expensive models that have iPod ports. Another option for some cars is an expensive device that adds an auxilliary input to your factory radio but there can be downsides. For me I have a choice of losing my XM radio or losing audible warnings. And then there's the FM transmitters. I bought a Kensington digital and am mostly happy with it. I say mostly because in some areas there is no free frequency so the iPod is unusable.

2-GB iPod nano: car charger problem

My second generation nano will not charge from the car charger, while it charges well from USB. I know the charger is fine (identical nano works with this charger). Any ideas? Is it broken?

Another (but same model) iPod works (with THIS charger) just fine - that is HOW.

Car charging problem

My Ipod Charges fine with the computer docking cable but when i plug it into a car charger it doesnt charge and the touch pad gets hot. Ive tried two brands of car chargers and they both do the same thing. Should I be concerned about the heat?

Try the Apple store, either live or online for a selection of car chargers that will work with the 3GS. There are several.

IPhone 3GS car charger problems

Hello. Up until a couple days ago, I could easily charge my iPhone 3gs in my car using an apple cord and a charger with a USB port. But suddenly, it no longer works. When I plug the charger into the phone, I get a tone and the battery indicator on the phone screen shows it's charging. Within a minute, I get a warning screen that says something to the effect of "This device does not support charging." I've tried two different cords and the same thing happens. But when I plug my iPod into either cord, it charges just fine. Here's the kicker: If I plug my iPhone via the cord into my desktop or an electrical outlet using the adapter, it charges fine. What the heck is going on? Is this an indication of a dying battery?

Clean the dock connector and the iPhone end of the cable with a clean, dry toothbrush, or wooden toothpick. Use a magnifying glass to make sure you got all of the pocket lint.
For the charger, try a different one. They are cheap enough.

Does Classic charge with a car charger?

Having found that my Classic won't charge while off, I am wondering whether there is another software glitch. My Classic won't charge from the micro USB auto charger I used for my Bold 9900. I just got a new car charger from Crackberry and when I plugged it in low and behold although the LED was lit, the Classic would not charge. Is this another software problem with charging on the Classic?

To confirm, no lighting bolt appears when the device is turned on and connected to the car charger?
If possible can you share some details about the car chargers you are using? Any make, or model #'s would be helpful.
@bobtor, the log you sent me has been attached to your case. If possible can you let me know the make or model # of the car chargers you were using as well so I can do some testing? Thanks!

Iphone car charger once again not charging. Second one and they are not cheap from the apple store.Any else have these problems?

My Iphone car charger is not charging again. This is the second one I have bought from the Apple store and they are not cheap anyone else have problems?

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

Problems with car charger

I dont think i have read anything like this on the forums yet. Im on my second torch and although i like it a lot being (personal opinion) best blackberry yet (functionwide) , I feel it has some issues that are making me think a lot. I had a problem with the first one, i was charging it in my car (original BB charger) and some times i would see the lighting icon with the phone charging and sometimes not. I wanted to know if it was charging or not, so i tested for minutes looking at the battery % and nothing. Then the phone started to overheat and was not charging anymore, i took it to best buy mobile where i purchased it and they gave me different car chargers to test it. I did test it but i told them that my charger was orgiunal blackberry accesory and that i charge a 9700 and a 8520 from my wife. Nothing happened, they gave me a new phone. With the new one i noticed the b atter life was superb, was way better. but after 4-5 days (yesterday) the battery went dead at 5pm with slight use on the day, i tried charging the cellphone while eating, so i left it charging in the car and when i returned the phone was hot and not charging. Im really confused
Things i know>
1. its not the car charger, its charging other BB fine and its original accesory
2. Its not the lighter in my car cause i also charge other phones
please advice

I too am on my second torch in 8 days. I am also having a problem with the car charger. The lightning bolt goes off while charging, especially when I am using AT&T Navigator. The second phone is not as bad as the first one was, but I don't know how well it will do in the weeks to come.
I had this same problem with my original AT&T Blackberry, the 8900. In that case, a battery swap solved the problem. With the Torch, I really don't know what is going on, but this is a serious problem because I use the AT&T Navigator all the time in my business and I have to keep my battery charged.
I hope Blackberry recognizes that there IS a problem and fixes it.

Phonebook problems 2700 Classic

I have some troubles with my Nokia 2700 classic phonebook. I have the lastest software installed. I updated my phonebook with the nokia PC suite, that was eassier.
Problem 1: I choose to sort my phonebooklist by firstname instead of the last name. It doesn't work even it's set right in the menu and is displaying the list should be sort by firstname.
After I got a updated SIM card I got 2 other problems:
Problem 2: When I turn my phone off and back on the whole phonebook saved on my phone is gone. It keeps doing that after I put a back-up back on my phone. The numbers on the SIM card is no problem.
Problem 3: I turn my phone on, I choose to view the phonebook saved on my phone instead of my SIM card. WHen I turn it off and back on it just changed back to showing only SIM card phonebook.
Can problem 2 and 3 be caused by the new SIM card???
Does someone has a solution for any of all my phone problems?

Have you tried using a different Sim Card & checked ? Try sending MMS using a different Sim Card. For My Nokia, what is the error message you get when you try to register ? Did you try registering in the website & check ?

Car Dock Charging problem?

My car dock does a great job of holding my Droid X in place in my car. However, whenever I connect an auto charger to the car dock (with the Droid X in the dock, of course), it never charges the Droid X at all. When I connect the auto charger directly to the Droid X, it always charges just fine.
Has anyone else had a problem with the auto charger working through the car mount?
Also, in case anyone cares, even though Google Maps Navigation is quite good, I find that I like VZ Navigator much more. My only complaint is that it only gives you one verbal notification for each and any upcoming exits or turns. I would prefer several verbal notifications - such as one from two miles away, another from one mile away, another from .5 miles away, or something like that. Can anyone tell me whether Google Maps Navigation provides more or multiple verbal notifications for an upcoming exit turn on a highway, for instance? Either way, if I could only hear any such notification with a louder volume for the speaker on the Droid X, it would be great.
So, anyone else with a a charging problem through the car mount?
Also, anyone know which navigation program provides more verbal notifications for upcoming turns in case you did not hear the first one?

I have the same problem with not charging while in the car dock. I've used the dock 3 times now, and had problems on 2 of them. On both occasions, it was originally charging and working on the car's power. After a couple of hours, the phone quit charging, and drained down to 10% power before I reallize there was a problem. I found the phone to be extremely hot, and the phone woljuld not charge either in the car dock, or connected directly to the charging cord. Once the phone cooled down, it began charging again. It appears the battery is overheating; perhaps from the heat of the sunlight coming through the windshield?

2700 Classic - Problems with MMS and My Nokia Regi...

This has probably been covered elsewhere but I haven't come across any answers yet! I bought a SIM free 2700 classic at the end of last year. I'm unable to send multimedia messages and have been unable to register it on My Nokia as the IMEI is unrecognised. I've checked the SIM card being used in another phone and there are no problems. Any advice on what to do next would be appreciated!!

I am sorry to learn that your phone has some water damage smreyn! Liquid damage can cause many different issues, including inability to recognize chargers and accessories.
