2730 Classic: Chinese dictionary..?

Hi,
I just bought a 2730, one reason being the included Chinese-English dictionary. This may be a very stupid question but, where do I find it? I assumed it would be in Apps. -> Collection, but no sign there or anywhere else... do I need to download it or something?

Is it possible to install a dictionary to a 2730? It seems that it should be possible to install a new Chinese dictionary. I'm trying to install an Arabic one. If you have any luck in this direction, please let me know.

Problem with Nokia 2730 classic

I have problem with my Nokia 2730 Classic such as:
- Can't open Browser (can only use Web service like Facebook) & the download & messenger application in phone are corrupted.
- I can't use Music Player... every time i open song or video,it's shown that " Not Enough Memory"
- Messaging can't open just got a blank & still Error unless turn off & restart phone.
When i got this issue, i also tried to Restore factory & Restore All in setting function several times,but it just solved the Messaging to work normally & the others still got the problem.
I also try to update firmware from v8.xx (not remember) to V10.40 RM-578 but nothing better..
I really need help as soon as possible.

you need to empty the phones memory delete unwanted items such as images and text also clear up your message folders

Texting on nokia 2730 classic help

my nokia 2730 classic when texting only allows me to type in the name of the contact when sending a text, i would like to change this PERMANENTLY to only typing in the number of the person because it is so much easier. Can you please help? Thank You

Internet problems with Nokia 2730 classic

I recently bought a Nokia 2730 classic (on Orange PAYG). I'm able to browse most websites using the phone's browser. However, when I attempt to access Gmail, I get the following error: Secure connection not available. I get a similar error when trying to set up my email in the 'messages' section. I also get this error when I try to log in to Twitter - the common factor seems to be that they are https pages.
I'm also unable to use the Nokia Ovi store. Whenever I try to download anything, it will reach 35% before saying Download/Install Failed. I'm guessing that the two problems are related.
Does anyone know how I might be able to resolve either of these problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ovi store uses prefered access point wether you set it to be used or not.
Some operator have different access point for different purpose. Eg, prepaid customer have different access point and post paid customer have thier own too. And if you have unlimited data plan your sim may use different access point too.
One of my freind is using same model. When settings are configured mannually, network doesn't allow connection. Preferred access point which operator has sent, was meant for postpaid customer with data plan but my freind is using prepaid sim. So the problem is setting or ovi which is not smart enough to use defualt configuration, it tries to use preferred access point even it is set to 'no'
Better contact SP wether they can sent preferred access point for your need

Nokia 2730 classic camera & flash video play

Hello,
            Please solve my three queries regarding 2730 classic as follows:
            1. Its camera is 2.0 mega pixel, but its clarity is not good as 2700 classic or 5233 both of
                them are 2.0 megapixel phones. and its pixel got distorted when zooming but it doesn't
                happen in 2700 classic & 5233. Same problem like this when creating videos.
            2. Youtube videos doesn't stream or play online.
            3. How can i install real player.

1.When you zoom then your screen picture is like bad but after click then you will see the clarity me camera.
2.If you try to play stream of any site,you must required the access point setting for you mobile.In my knowleg, airtel is best for all service of nokia.
3.You cann't download real player for your mobile.

Help needed to configure 2730 classic on AT&T

I've been speaking to Nokia and AT&T for two days trying to see if they could help me configure the new 2730 classic (bought in Asia) to work. It's on S40 and uses GSM data and packet data.
No configuration I could find via public forums has worked so far.
One AT&T agent said that since GPRS is not available on the 2730, they can't help me manually put it in. But Nokia agent said AT&T should be able to send GPRS settings to me by sms (while another AT&T agent kept saying that since it's not a AT&T phone, they can't help me).
In Malaysia, I'd buy a sim card for less than US$5, and wap and mms settings are sent to me within the hour of putting in the sim card, why is it so difficult to do the same in this country??
Is "global connectivity" a myth? Is this a conspiracy to make people a buy new phone wherever they move? Or is there some truth to the fact that the 2730 is just not compatible with the system in the US?

Back in Nov 2009 when I posted the original message, I called AT&T multiple times with the hope that someone there would bend the official policy and help me figure it out (since the phone was not bought from AT&T).
I ended up finding this:

Their customer service was stellar and it cost very little. They sent me the necessary configurations so I could get on the internet. I don't have 3G still, but at least I could check my email 95% of the time that I tried.
The bad news is, looks like "Configure my Phone" is no longer available. But maybe the parent company has other ways to helping consumers?
Honestly... for the technie entrepreneurs out there, someone could start making money out of breaking down these walls that American phone companies impose on us. These companies pay lip service to global connectivity -- which only translates to consumer brand loyalty.

The 2730 doesn't seem as 'advanced' as the X6, which I believe you were asking about the other day. If you want to store music or lots of phots on your phone, the X6 wins hands down, having 32GB of storage, where the 2730 can only takre a 2GB card. You can compare the specifications for the phone on your local Nokia website, if you haven't already done that.
Afraid I don't really know first hand about any problems with the 2730 Classic, though there are a few posts on this board which refer to such problems. But, as others here so often caution, people come to this board because they have problems, and many of those problems are as a result of user mistakes, so any comments here need to be put in to perspective. If the specs of the phone look like the sort of thing you want, it would be worth further research on other sites.

I had downloaded operamini 5.1 but when i install this shows an error "Unable to connect to the internet.Please cheak your settings."But i am surffing internet perfectly from operamini 4.1 which preinstalled on my phone. SO please help me

the problem may b d/t the internet settings provided by the service provider. In India BSNL settings work fine for preinstalled opera mini on s40 phones but not for the one that we download.

Please tell me what to do to get the software update for my Nokia 2730 Classic.

Even if your phone is listed, unless you see the update available in the OVI_Suite you won't be able to do that. Connect phone to PC..Open OVI Suite --> Tools -->Software Updates and check.. If it shows any availability first back-up your data and then proceed for the update..

Download/install fails on 2730 Classic

Have recently bought a 2730 Classic on T-Mobile. Everytime I try to download an app via OVI, it gets to 35% and then fails "Download/Install failed". I've tried checking all the access point settings etc but I'm not quite sure what they should be or how to set them all.
My login details are OK - it says I'm logged in.

YES I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM .
WHEN I OPENED OVI STORE IT SHOWS "CONFLICTING APPLICATIONS. SHOW ITEMS ?"

2730 classic - buetooth upgrade for connection to ...

i have major back ground noise when connecting new 2730 classic to blue tooth in car - blue tooth is genuine nokia ck100 (i think it is) - have been advised need the bluetooth upgrade of the internet but can't locate it - can someone please help

you need to loadn latest firmware version 9.41 - to do this you can either download Nokia OVI suite and do the upgrade over the internet or on you rphone if you have internet access you can go Settings --- Phone ---Phone Updates ---Download Phone Software.

2730 Classic message send tones

Hello all
My mother in law has a nokia 2730 classic. Everytime she sends a message it plays a sound. I have trawled through the settings but I can't seem to find how to disable it. Does anyone have any ideas how to turn\disable this.
