2950 Catalyst - what do green to amber ports mean?

Occatioanl our grren ports flicker to amber, what does this mean?

You could have a problem but not necessarily. The first thing to do is check the port to see if it is running in half duplex. I have seen router attached ports at half duplex ocassionally flash amber due to the number of collisions during heavy traffic. That is not really a problem, but collisions can get excessive if the traffic is too high. If the link is actually dropping you have a cable fault. I have seen people try to use old cat3 patch cables and that will cause the light to turn amber, but the link is actually bouncing. You can check the logs for that.
Like someone else said, you could have a duplex mismatch, but you should be able to verify the duplex settings on both sides easy enough.

  • What does virtual host and port mean in a system in ESB console

    Hi !
When you click on a system in ESB console you can see and change 'cluster name' , 'Virtual host' and 'Port' .
    What does this mean ?
As default the port is 8888 even though the installation uses port 80.
If I change the port, I see no difference.
    Could someone please explain ?

It is used to generate the endpoint urls in the wsdl's for the services you have deployed. It needs to be set to the esb server and port number where the services are installed. So if your esb installation uses port 80 you need to change 8888 to 80. Try the wsdl and look at the url of the endpoint.
    Kind Regards,
    Andre

  • My Mac randomly just turned off and now it wont turn back on, the charger light is faintly flashing green and amber?!?!

My mac randomly turned off last night had some trouble with an uncertified usb cable that I was trying to charge my iphone 5S with but it came up with that message of not being able to charge with this accessory or something so i plugged it into my mac thinking it was my plug to charge my phone then like 5 mins later my mac just randomly turns off and it did have like 90% batt but i still plugged it back in thinking it was just being wierd but then i pressed the power button after it being plugged into my mac and it wouldnt even turn on no fan starts or anything and now the colour of the charger light is very faint and is almost flickering between green and amber, please help me out I dont want to pay loads of money for something that I might be able to fix?!?!?!

    I actually just fixed it.  Here is what to do;
    1. Unplug everything from your computer.
    2. Take off the bottom of your MacBook / Pro / Air.  (There are usually 3 screws that are longer than the rest near the vent, remember where they go.)
    3. Carefully unplug the battery from the logic board.
    4. Wait 10 seconds.
    5. Plug the battery back into the logic board.
    6. Put the bottom cover back on.
    7. Reboot the computer holding the "Option" key.
It's not exactly what I did but it should work.  If it doesn't work, what I really did was unplug the battery and then plugged my charger into the computer, the fans started spinning and then it shut off again.  Then I plugged the battery back in, put the bottom on (with no screws), and tried booting up again.  The Apple chime played and then the computer shut off.  So I tried booting again holding the "Option" key and it booted up like normal.  I then restarted my computer to make sure it is back to normal and it is.
Wow what a relief.  I was really scared there for a minute.
*And for everyones information I was using a Belkin USB cable but it had never done that before.

  • Mag Safe LED Blinks From Green to Amber

I have a MBP bought in March 2007. I recently have been having a problem with the Mag Safe adapter. When the battery is about fully charged the LED on the Mag Safe connector starts to blink from green to amber. The blinking is rather constant, about 2 seconds a part. When I have the battery icon from the menu bar highlighted it shows "Calculating time..." and the LED is amber, and then quickly changes to "Battery is charged" and the LED turns green.
It seems that the computer doesn't know when to switch from battery to AC power when the battery is fully charged and connected to a power adapter.
I don't have an extra power adapter to try this on, as well as I don't have an extra battery. The Mag Safe connector at the MBP is perfectly fine, there is no fraying or anything like that. The wire does mostly stay wrapped around the power adapter hooks, so I am also thinking that it might be something wrong with the adapter itself, that the wires might be worn.
Thanks for any help that you can give me.

I have an issue somewhat similar to this - the battery indicator switches between claiming that it's charging and full, with the Magsafe adapter's light changing along with it. In my case it wasn't as regular as yours, but occurred while charging.
I tried calibrating the battery (instructions are here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh2339.html ) but it doesn't seem to have had an affect. Worse, the system had shut off when the battery got low (~12% power remaining) twice now, although there was one time between those two when it went down to 5% and I shut it down myself. I have 89 cycles on the year-old battery and iStat pro claims that its health is at 39%. To add to the mix, last night I watched a 26-minute movie which ate up 20% of the battery (this is about normal), and then I watched a second one that dropped the battery by a bit under 60%. I'm guessing that the battery has some dead cells. I have extended Applecare coverage, but have heard that it doesn't apply to batteries. Regardless, people have linked to pages showing that Apple will replace batteries if they're in a poor state and under 300 cycles. I'll head to an Apple store some time in the near future and see what the consensus is.
Long story short, my battery is probably failing, and the light changing behavior started around the time that I began to suspect that. It may be indicative of a dying battery on your end, as well.

  • After updating latest security update for my OSX 10.7.5 one of my usb port is not working now.how do i know what is cause that usb port is not working after security update

one of usb port in my macbook pro havent work after i ve updated latest security update for osx 10.7.5, how do i know what is cause that usb port is good or bad

On a Mac running v10.7.2, the only way to reinstall Safari is to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery.
Safari 5.1.1 is for Snow Leopard. It will not run on a Mac with v10.7 installed.

  • HT2498 how do I find out what kind of fire wire port I have on my desktop? I want to transfer video from my camcorder.

how do I find out what kind of fire wire port I have on my desktop? I want to transfer video from my camcorder.

If you have Firewire 800 it's a boxy looking port, the Firewire 400 is thinner and has a arrow looking shape, you can get a adpater.
FW800 is simply FW 400 x 2, so the adapter gives you FW 400.

  • What is the Difference btwn PORT and SOCKET

Hai, what is the diff. between Port and Socket and is Port related to Hardware?

Or another way, A socket is the connection you make, the port is the channel that the socket connected on.
A lot of ports are assigned to a certain use eg 80 = http. So when you try to access a web page, your browser tries to make a connection to the server on port 80, the server software will listen on port 80 on the server computer for htp request.

I was just wondering what do the different color circles mean when I've located my iphone. So far I've seen a green dot with a green bigger outlined circle around it , a gray circle , a gray circle with a gray bigger outline around it , a real big green circle like the whole circle is dark green. I'm mainly just wondering can you tell if they are texting or using the phone at the time or if its on off or on vibrate is that what those different colors mean?

  • What does data-port mean in IDSM2

    Hello,
When configuring IDSM2 in Cat6K, there is a command with parameters of data port:
    # monitor session 1 destination intrusion-detection-module 9 data-port 1
What does the data-port mean? does it mean the monitoring interface 7 or 8?
    Thanks,
    -Alejin

    Data-port is the sensing interface.
For CAT OS, port 7 and 8 are the sensing interfaces, and
For IOS, data port 1 and 2 are the sensing interfaces.
Here is the URL for your reference:

    Hope that answers your question.

  • What standards are  the USB ports on a Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5?

What standards are the USB ports on a Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5? USB1 or USB2? If USB1, is there a card to equip the computer for USB2 or USB3?

USB 2.0. USB 3.0 is not yet supported in OS X. You can purchase USB 3.0 cards for Macs, but I don't know if they work in your slots. See www.caldigit.com, for example.

what is the outgoing server port for smtp

Google is your friend for searching for SMTP configuration for your Email provider
25 is blocked by most providers (because of spam)
465 and 587 are the ports used by authenticated SMTP setups.

  • MBP not charging, green or amber light not on, but registers plugged in?

MBP not charging, green or amber light not on, but registers plugged in?

In the menu bar, does it indicate that the battery is being charged or is charged?  If so you have a finicky led on your power adapter, like I do.  I either ignore it or give it a little jiggle or a few 'snaps' and it usually comes back on.
If it is not charging then you may have a faulty power adapter and try another one to see if that is the case.  Borrow one or go to the Apple store and use one of theirs.
    Ciao.

  • What is SC Split between PO means.?

    hi friends
what is SC Split between PO means.
    Regards
    Vinny

    Hi Vinny,
Basically SC split between po means that SC will create Purchase orders/purchae requistions at header level or line item level...
Per example eventhough you define creation of either PO/PR at header lvel but in your shopping cart contains two items with different vendor then system will genearate two PR's/Two PO's at line item level because of vendor difference.
If you are not ok with answer then please elborate me in which context you are talking to about SC split between PO.
    Thanks
    Ravi
