2960S Too large frames

Hi,
I have 2 2960S configured as a flexstack with a etherchannel containing 4 ports connected to a Windows storage server, where I have configured 4 broadcom nics as a etherchannel. On the Broadcom nic team, I have enabled a mtu of 9000 bytes.
It is working fine, no user complaints, but looking at the 2960 interfaces statistics to the etherchannel, I see <too large frames> and <valid frames, too large> on all 4 interfaces.

Why am I seeing too large frames on those ports when I have enabled jumbo frames on the switch and server?
Regards

Thanks.
As far as I see only gig1/0/14 has a pretty big output drops - 186030.
But if the number is since last reboot, then I guess the number is okay?

This is nothing.  You get this counters if the port(s) is/are configured as Dot1Q Trunking.
There is nothing to be worried about.

  • Cisco cat2960: large frames

    Hi All.
I was checking my ports on errors on a subject switch and all was OK. but one ios command -
"show controllers ethernet-controller <my interface>" has shown me that some ports have
"Too large frames" in transmit section and "Valid Frames, too Large" in receive section.
does it mean that my switch drops this frames?

I have no stack. My cisco-cat switches are connected through twisted pair (utp5).
    с2960[gi0/1]======[gi0/1]с2950[gi0/2]======[gi1/0/15]с3750
    ====== - it s gigabit trunk connection.
i have checked ports on other switches and it has surprised me: c2950 have no large frames , but c3750 have large frames.
I have set mtu in 9000 only on c2960. i thought that some one who is connected to this switch(PC or other network device) sends large frames. I did not think that large frames can be on other switches.
it seems to me that problem has occured because of ipx traffic in my network and fallback bridging on my c3750.

  • TS1717 Everytime i open Itunes in windows 7 despite me specifying maximised it opens in window that is always too large for the screen. EVen windowing the frame and then remaximiseing puts the buttons outside the edge of the screen

Every time i open Itunes it starts in a window that is too large for the screen (despite me setting "start maximised" in the launch options). Then hitting the "maximise" button expands the window slightly pushing all the buttons and edge of the frame out of the screen and behind the taskbar at the bottom. I have to move the window to a place where i can resize it smaller than the screen then and only then does maximising the window fit it properly to the screen.

Okay, I just opened up Itunes this evening and it's not working again! Sheeshy Peetz!
HOWEVER, this time I followed some different steps and got it working.
    (1) Uninstall Quicktime
    (2) Uninstall Itunes
    (3) Re-download Both
    (4) Install Quicktime First!  (Read #6 below first though)
    (5) Install Itunes Next!  (Read #6 below first though)
    (6) Here is the CAVEAT for me:  I have an SSD as my C:\Drive, which is where I originally installed both of them.   So this time, I installed both Quicktime and Itunes to a Non-SSD drive, which was one of my SATA Drives.
    (7) Start Itunes and Test your Movies now.  For me I was able to play them finally.  Who knows how long this will last lol.
    Maybe this work for someone.

  • Why can't I import anything? "File video dimensions (width/height) too large"

New to PP CS4 here (that will be obvious momentarily...).  I can't seem to import any footage into any project (well, at least none of the bits I've tried, and I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with them).  Every time I attempt to do so, I get the error:
    Dialog title: File Import Failure
Error Message: File video dimensions (width/height) too large.
This occurs with every files I've thrown at it - admittedly, they all have a lot in common, but they're not particularly exotic.
The files are (mostly) AVI files (I know, I know...before I get jumped, I understand it's just a wrapper, etc.). The files come from two cameras:
    1. A Sony DCR-TRV20. Opening up the AVI in QuickTime Player, I see it's listed as "DV/DVCPRO - NTSC 640X480"
    2. Canon PowerShot A620. Opening up the AVI in QuickTime Player, I see it's listed as "MotionJPEG OpenDML 320x240"
    3. I somehow managed to get the AME to spit out a FLV file. That failed to import with the same error message, too.
I tried running these files through AME, and got the same results (although never having used AME previously, I have a question on that, below).
New project, settings are all (I think) the defaults: Preset DV-NTSC/Standard 32kHz
New installation of PP CS4, with the 4.1 update, on a PC running Vista 32 with all the endless MS updates applied.
Related question: I've skimmed other threads here, and noted the advice to "always convert any non-standard footage to DV-AVI Type II" before importing....however, I see no such option for that output format in AME....only generic things like "Microsoft AVI" and "Uncompressed Microsoft AVI".
Codec issues?  I'm a little skeptical, since these AVI files play just fine in Windows if I double-click them. Does that not suggest that there's a codec there for them?  The files are from (what I believe to be) garden-variety consumer cameras (these devices are a bit old and certainly not high-end, but they're hardly exotic formats, I think). The files are small, short clips I'm attempting to use just to learn Premiere, but it gags on every one of them, every time.
PP is so insistent that every file I throw at it has improper dimensions, but these files appear to be perfectly reasonably sized, and I assume it's operator error (I'm withholding judgement on the quality and accuracy of the error string it's presenting me).  But I'm not sure where to look for the right knob to twist.  Pretty frustrating to be stuck on Square 1 (actually, Square Zero).
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Please be gentle, it's my first time....

    Thanks, but....mmmm....maybe not.
I've tried multiple settings for New Projects. Just created a new one using the preset for DV-NTSC/Widecsreen 48kHz (frame size 720 x 480, 48 kHz audio).  Exactly the same results.
You say "To point you in a certain direction, DV from a TRV is 720x480, not 640x480."  However, according to QuickTime's Movie Inspector panel, the file is 640x480.  This clip was captured through Premiere - that wouldn't change its aspect ratio, would it?
The files from the Canon still camera are AVI files, not still images (so I don't see how the reference to Photoshop applies, or perhaps I misunderstood your point). They are 320x240, according to QuickTime's Movie Inspector panel. If they're 320x240, wouldn't that be the same aspect ratio as 640x480?  Attempting to import them, I get the same error....
While not exactly Hollywood quality, I just need files to play with as I attempt to learn the program, and it's not clear to me why these files should not work - other than the fact that NO files seem to work. Also, I'm not sure what your reference to "exporting" pertains to - I can't get anything imported, I'm not trying to export anything that (I'm aware of) - I'll worry about exporting once I've managed to get something, ANYTHING to import.
I've got some PP training videos (from "you-probably-know-who.com"). Following along using their project files and their video assets (MOV files in this case), I still get the exact same error.
So to summarize, so far, I've seen no evidence that this copy of PP can import ANY video file.
While I'm sure I would benefit from spending more time with the fine manual, I think there's something wrong here that's not going to be addressed in the introductory documentation.  If I can't import any footage into any project, progress is going to be slow.
How about this: is there some known-to-be-good test file I can grab and try importing that?  I've got very strong suspicions that I'll get the same error message.
    Thanks again.

  • It says video is too large on iPhone to be send to iCloud

When I tried to send a video clip taken on iPhone (duration - 13 min) to iCloud a notification appeared  that the video was too large and I need to crop it. I clicked OK and then an upper line got out showing all the length frame by frame with a yellow marker supposed to be used as a cropping tool. When I started manipulating the tool all  things got freezed  and I had no chose but to press Main Menu button to recover it. Checking it concerning whether the video was too large I then got to Storage Manager and it estimated at 4.1 GB of unused space of 5 GB allowed free iCloud storage. So what's the trouble, why it all freezed and why it said "too large" for video?

Shared streams don't use your iCloud storage so it doesn't matter how much space you have.  Because the storage for shared streams is free, there are limits on what can be included (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4858).  For videos, the maximum length is 5 min.

  • PSE 6 slide show photos too large for TV screen

I have been collecting, scanning and saving family photos for over a year to create a slide show for my 81 yr. old Dad. I create a slide show with PSE 6, save to a CD and play on the TV. No matter what pixel size I resize the photos to they are still too large for the TV screen - not just one TV screen but different ones I try. I loose heads at the top, feet at the bottom, people on the sides. I have been researching but have not found the answer to solve my problem. Anyone have the answer or some suggestions I would be very appreciative.  Thanks.
    Scrap Grannie

Well, first of all, choose the right resolution and frame-rate...
Are you working in NTSC (30 fps), or PAL (25 fps)...?
Use one of the common DV formats /
if you choose HD, 1080i, then your TV must be able to recognize that format,
    otherwise images get cut off...
    Format                                           Rectangular Size              Square Size
    DV NTSC................................................720x480.............................. ...720x540
    DV PAL...................................................720x576............................ .....768x576
    HDV 720p..................................................NA................................. ....1280x720
    HDV 1080i.................................................NA................................. ....1920x1080
Stay with your chosen format through-out your whole project...
(PNG, TIFF or PSD), import those files into your video editor.
Depending on the Operational System (Mac or Windows), one has many choices...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_editing_software
After editing, import those files into your chosen Authoring software for burning,
they will take care of the appropriate compression.
(I would recommend burning to DVD, not CD, one will achieve much better quality...

  • Export to AVI file too large! The secret setting to smaller AVI files is?

The recent death of a internationally respect friend has put me in a position of creating a memorial video for an upcoming event—and it should have been finished 2 days ago! So I'm pressed for time.
The problem is the display format: a large digital picture frame that also shows stereo video, but only in AVI format. We've tried .mov, .mpeg, .divx, .wmv, .vcl, .mpg1 to 4... Nope. It's got to be .avi or the picture frame balks. (Really, any .avi movie plays fine and no other format works.)
So I've taken the 5-minute memorial video, exported it as AVI and it comes out okay—except the smallest file size I can get is over 1.12GB! Whew! By comaprison, exporting to DIVX would get it down to around 100MB with decent quality. But 1.12GB is simply too huge for such a short video.
What's the correct export in FCE for lowest possible AVI yet still have good video?

Note: All video was transferred from a Panasonic NV-GS250 digital tape camera. It's 5 years old.
I've played with three codecs and the lowest file size I can achieve is roughly 400Mb in Cinepak Low Quality at 25fps, but regardless of the Cinepak setting (very low or very high) the picture quality is awful and washy, colors pixelate and come and go—and it doesn't matter if the video is showing still images or motion. Not useful at all. The colors are "millions" and changing that to 256 immediately shoots the file(s) up to over 12GB! (Yet I'd think it should be the other way around.)
Cinepak, DV-PAL, and DVCPRO-PAL are the three compressions I've tried, and the PALs convert with good picture quality and good sound to a minimum 1.2GB all the way up to over 20GB for a 5-minute video; Interlaced or Progressive doesn't reduce anything; of these None is the lowest. I +haven't tired+ DVCPRO50-PAL and neither any NTSC compressions (because I live in Germany). But this is for a digital picture frame—that I cannot change and for some weird reason will only support AVI—and it's not a T.V., rather it's no different that any modern flatscreen computer display. So how should PAL or NTSC make a difference?
Sound compression has been tried at ALaw 2:1 and µLaw 2:1, but they also seem to keep the overall file size too large. So I've been working more with None. Using 8 bit actually increases file size over 16 bit, and I've noticed little difference between mono or stereo.
I've worked with FCE for nearly 2 years and have never had such a headache over file sizes. But now I've met my match with AVI.

  • ImporterProcessServer.exe has stopped working - width/height too large

I'm getting this error everytime I try importing a video that I got converted from a BetaCam tape.  I have the movie in Microsoft DV Codec and Quicktime DV Codec.

I have no troubles importing files I've used previous to this project.
    I'm using CS4 4.0.1

Many thanks for any help and advice.

    Hi Hunt,
    Thanks for the reply.
Initially I was using a simple PAL DV setting, but once I got the error I tried using larger project settings with no luck.
The source video was provided in two formats, for any compatitbility issues so it's the same video.... One is the QT and one is the MS AVI.  The frame size of the video is 720 x 576 and 25 fps. Each file is around 27 GB and just over 2 hours long.
It's wierd, Premiere won't import either files, After Effects crashes but Encore brings it right in.... if only I didn't need to do a bit of editing.  I'm not sure of the program that did the conversion, but we had it sent off to a studio because the source footage was on Digital BetaCam tape and I'm guessing it was originally captured in Avid, but who knows.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Clint

  • Private void initComponents(){} Error - Code too large

I am doing java project using netbean 6.5. It has frame contaning a jtabbedPane.
This tabbed contain 10 tabs. Each tab has contain of labels, textboxes, option button...etc.
my private void initComponents() method has all most 5000 code line.problem is when i try to
add more components in to tabbed it won't compile & gives private void initComponents(){} - Code too large error.
How can i escape from this?
    Can anyone HELP me?

Delete that garbage and hand code it. Create individual classes for the panels you add to JTabbedPane.
BTW: you shouldn't use an IDE/Gui builder if you don't know how to do it youself.

  • Playing a large Clip and "Requested buffer too large" exception

    Hi All.
Through JavaSound, I am trying to reproduce a WAV audio file that I create within my application. Also the recording/acquisition of the audio file is performed through JavaSound.
The WAV audio file that I am trying to play has the following features:
    - 44 Khz, 8-bit, mono
    - Length = 1min 36sec
    - File size = 4.04 MB
Here is a fragment of my code:
// Get the input stream from the input audio file
    audioInStream = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(inputFile);
    AudioFormat audioFormat = audioInStream.getFormat();
// Compute the buffer size (for a 0.25 seconds buffer)
    float bufferTime = 0.25F; // 0.25 seconds of buffer
    int frameSize = audioFormat.getFrameSize();
float frameRate = audioFormat.getFrameRate(); // frames per second
    int numOfBufferedFrames = (int)(frameRate * bufferTime);
    int bufferSize = frameSize * numOfBufferedFrames;
// Create the output data line
    DataLine.Info sourceDataLineInfo = new DataLine.Info(Clip.class, audioFormat, bufferSize);
    sourceClip = (Clip)AudioSystem.getLine(sourceDataLineInfo);
    sourceClip.addLineListener(this);
// Prepare the output line for playing
    sourceClip.open(audioInStream);
    // Start playing
sourceClip.start();This code works perfectly fine on Windows (I am testing on a Windows XP Pro 32-bit machine).
On the other side, this code throws the following exception on Mac OS X:
javax.sound.sampled.LineUnavailableException: Failed to allocate clip data: Requested buffer too large.
         at com.sun.media.sound.MixerClip.implOpen(MixerClip.java:561)
         at com.sun.media.sound.MixerClip.open(MixerClip.java:165)
         at com.sun.media.sound.MixerClip.open(MixerClip.java:256)
         at mypackage.AudioPlaybackThread.run(AudioPlaybackThread.java:70)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:637)The exception is thrown upon the sourceClip.open(audioInStream); call.
Googling around, I discovered that the MixerClip implementation seems to have some inherent buffer size limitation of 1 MB... Isn't it ridiculous?
But why this is working perfectly fine on Windows - even with clips of 4 megabytes -, while not working with larger clips on Mac OS X?
Also, will the following code line influence the size of the buffer used by MixerClip?
DataLine.Info sourceDataLineInfo = new DataLine.Info(Clip.class, audioFormat, bufferSize);I know that I could use a SourceDataLine class, and write() data into it in order to reproduce my long audio clip, but I need support for pausing, seeking audio to a specific position, seeking forward, etc., and using a Clip would be absolutely perfect for this purpose!
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Marco

But why this is working perfectly fine on Windows - even with clips of 4 megabytes -, while not working with larger clips on Mac OS X?Because Apple changes stuff in the JRE and Microsoft doesn't... and I personally believe Mac specifically strips down the JavaSound stuff because of iTunes (anti-competition and such).
Also, will the following code line influence the size of the buffer used by MixerClip?Probably not, no.

  • Flash site - swf file too large

    Hello,
I have created a website using Flash CS5 using AS2. The site was completely custom designed using Photoshop and in then imported into Flash. The site has all of the pages in the main timeline on different keyframes, so say frame 2 is home, and frame 3 is services, etc. This is a site for my design portfolio so I have probably 5 galleries that I have made, but they are very simple, one frame will have the first picture, the next frame will have the second picture and so on. I have gotten my site exactly how I want it and works how I want it... but in the end the .swf file when published, is over 9MB which I know is wayyyyyy too large for a flash site that works fast for everyone.
So how can I make this file size smaller. I am fairly new to this, although I had no problem getting my buttons to navigate with actionscript no problem, but my actionscript knowledge is very limited beyond that. I'm not sure where to go with this site to make the size smaller, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can send someone the fla file to look at if needed.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
Maybe you can help me a little more.
I looked up some tutorials having to do with the AS2 xml galleries, and I found that almost all of them were for galleries with fancy scrolling options and slider bars, etc.
My galleries are very very basic, thumbs are layed out on the left, click one and the image appears on the right. I'm not the best at using the actionscript and knowing what to do with all of it. So some of the tutorials made sense about getting files to load dynamically, but I'm not sure what code to keep in for my gallery, and what code to take out that I dont need for all the fancy effects.
    my site is http://www.mrolfedesigns.com
as you can see, the galleries are pretty simple, I would like to keep them that way, and not have any complex scrolling or slider bars. Ive searched a lot into looking for some more simple tutorials, but am not finding any great ones that I can use.

  • How large is too large to eliminate sycn issues

I am new to Captivate and have downloaded the trial version
before I buy it. I have seen many online videos between 10 to 15
minutes lenth i.e., Lynda.com where the producer who created the
files looked to be doing it in full motion recording with narration
at the same time. I have created several projects all from 10 to 15
slides. After they were published the collection of .swf were
between 10 to 20 megs. When I upload them to a server, after half
way through captivate video, the audio and video become out of
sync. I did not recorder all 10 to 15 slides at once. I recorded
about 15 to 30 seconds at a time.
I called Adobe Customer service and the representative said
that my files size was too large, and that was the reason for the
sync issues. Is this common with only with Captivate and are there
better products to be using? The rep suggested that I export the
audio and put it in a program to decrease the file size and import
it back into the slide. I exported the audio and imported the mp3
back into the slide however the published version was still the
    same size.
I saw another post where the person suggested recording the
video first and then returning to the slide to record the
voiceover. That seems like it would be more challenging to read a
script and match it to the activity i.e., opening windows, typing
data into fields etc. vs. doing it simultaneously. Is recording the
audio and motion simultaneously a waste of time. Do I have to
record audio at FM radio bit rate which sounds awful?
I have spent several hours and am very frustrated. If any one
could help, that would be appreciated.

    Hi there,
Thank you for your kind words, please find answers to the
    questions you posed below.
    quote:
Thank you for your suggestions. When you say daisy chain, do
you mean daisy chain multiple projects or slides? The 30 day trial
version does not allow my to export to Flash 8. Doesexporting to
Flash 8 give an additional opportunity to decrease file size? You
have buttons to the right side of your Training presentation, were
    those created in Captivate too?
By daisy-chaining I mean to load one SWF once the previous
one has finished, essentially this is what I am doing in the
example I included. In Adboe Captivate 3 you carry out the
    following steps:
    1. Choose Edit > Preferences
    2. Choose Start and End
    3. In Project End options and from the Action menu you choose
    Open another project
    4. In the text field enter the name of your SWF such as
    file2.swf
    5. Click OK.
The navigation you see in my example is custom built by one
of our engineers. Essentially we are just using a web page with
some javascript code. You can see the JS code used by simply
viewing the source code in your web browser.
    quote:
Full motion and simultaneous narration just seems to be a
quicker solution and the Lynda.com videos can always be paused and
rewound if necessary. What software are the camtasia videos dropped
into to reduce file size and can the Captivate video use the same
software to get the same results?
In some cases full motion recording and voice over can be a
quicker solution. This is the approach I used to take when I worked
for VTC, I would record the voice over and screen action at the
same time. However and bearing in mind that most of the time I was
working with beta software, if the application I was creating
training for crashed then it would be easier to start over and
capture the whole thing again from scratch. Using Adobe Captivate
and capturing in either Audio Recording or Manual recording mode,
because Adobe Captivate only creates the backgrounds as static /
background images I can move the mouse points and adjust things
much more easier than I could with products such as Camtasia.
Personally I much prefer Adobe Captivate because it just
gives me a greater level of flexibility. You can read more about
    this via the
    Adobe
    Case Study
    quote:
Back to Flash 8, if a Captivate project were exported into
Flash 8, I assume all the buttons would work and that the
components are exported as well? If so, and I put a preloader on
Flash 8 project, would this eliminate the sync problem? Probably
not because the Captivate has a preloader and that doesn't help.
Exporting to Flash may not solve your problem. Adobe
Captivate does include a number of preloaders which you can find by
    carrying out these steps...
    1. Choose Edit > Preferences
    2. Select the category Start and End
    3. Check the option Loading screens
    4. Click the "..." button and browse to select one of the
    preloaders.
    5. Click OK.
    quote:
Well it looks like I have to take static images and do a
voice over with Captivate or use CAmtasia and figure out what other
software they use to do the full motion/narration type training
    videos.
For effective full motion recording most people will use
Camtasia. Though there are other products such as Hypercam which
you might want to take a look at. If you need something on the Mac
platform then Snapz Pro is a great tool. Just remember that when
working with full motion you are capturing frame by frame and
making dramatic changes to screens (if required) can be a time
consuming process. Adobe Captivate makes this a heck of a lot
easier. To learn more about this take a look at the Captivate 1.01
    article I wrote.

  • H.264 compression gives gradients hard edges, lossless filesizes are too large for uploading, whats

When I've rendered a HD movie from After Effects CS3 with lossless animation settings the quality is beautiful and crisp but I want to upload my videos to sites like Vimeo so that I can use them in my website http://www.splurj.com and the file size is way too large (in the region of 6GB).
When I've rendered the lossless video using H.264 compression the filesize is great but it losses quality. The colours become slightly saturated and any gradients have a hard edge.
Can anyone tell me the best compression software (or way of rendering direct from After Effects) to maintain quality and reduce filesize significantly?

    >Can anyone tell me the best compression software (or way of >rendering direct from After Effects) to maintain quality and reduce >filesize significantly?
As per the others' suggestions: Export a Photo-JPEG encoded file from AE, then use external tools. Additional programs not yet mentioned include ProCoder, SUPER©, TMPEG Enc., but QT Pro would be a good investment to start with and probably the cheapest solution to the immediate problem. It also provides additional ways of embedding extra info in the clip and adjust a few problems post-encode, if necessary.
    >With AE, since the "next" frame doesn't really exist yet, it can't
    >possibly provide the best compression.
That's a bit oversimplifying the case. If exported via the specific MPEG-2/MPEG-4/H.264/FLV writers, the frames will be buffered in the writers themselves until valid (sub-)GOPs can be written. The only thing it doesn't do, is to analyze beyond the bounds of such a packet, hence the efficiency of the underlying algorithms is impaired. And of course it depends on what you plan on doing with the stuff. Even with its limitations, the process works quite well for DVD/BluRay work for instance...
