2g Iphone mms avaliable?

I recently upgraded to 3.0 and was wondering if the mms would work on the 2g iphone. I have heard rumors that it will not work on the 2g iphone's and only the 3g phones. anyone can help me?

Whether or not YOU think it should be there or not, it is impossible -- you can NOT send an MMS from the original iPhone. It does not have the radio chip set required. Jailbroken original iPhones that have MMS are NOT using the phone function - it routes it through a 3rd party website, not through the phone.
ATT and Apple have an agreement which involves money and revenue sharing. They are not going to provide ANY type of free MMS service for original iPHone users.
MMS requires a 3G or 3GS.

  • Failure sending Iphone MMS internationally

I have the Iphone 3G 3.1. I have yet to been able to send MMS messages overseas from the US. (More specifically to the Philippines) I have been on the phone with AT&T and Apple technical support. So far; no luck. I can send and receive MMS fine here in the US. Oddly enough, I can receive MMS from my friends in the Philippines. Again, for some reason, my MMS do not make it through to them even though it shows as being sent from my phone.
Prior to my Iphone, I had the LG Shine through AT&T and I had no problems sending or receiving MMS stateside or overseas.
Is anyone else out there having this problem or even tried to send an MMS internationally? I am attaching a blog from another Iphone user that is apparently having problems trying to send his MMS to the UK.

Is Apple or AT&T blocking outgoing MMS to overseas phones? Is Iphone MMS messaging restricted to only stateside? Can anyone help?

    According to this: http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/messaging-internet/messaging/international.jsp
it should work. I don't know why they aren't going through. Sorry I can't offer more help. I would continue working with AT&T customer service until you get a resolution.

  • AT&T Not Reading for iPhone MMS w/3.0.....***???

Alright, i'm new to these forums. Ever since they announced the 3.0 updates, i've been anticipating the MMS feature. Finally I would be able to send people pics without having to awkwardly ask and take down their email address.
Then, OFCOURSE, days before the release of 3.0... AT&T states they are not ready for MMS with the iPhone and supply no reason at all for it. That is complete "insert bad words* (all of them.)
I"m sorry but there is no excuse for this what so ever. To be the ONLY U.S. supplier and operator of the most popular phone in US and NOT be ready for the biggest update the phone has had is just ridiculous in every sense of the word.

I think most here already know about it. I've heard various reasons/excuses for the delay. Everything from AT&T wants to squeeze MMS into the SMS band and thats not working out so good, to AT&T placed opt-out codes (allow_mms=false) on everyones account and that it will take a while to "undo" that, to its a setting in the phone itself which is why we all will have to get a software update to enable it.
Not sure which it is if any of those. You can MMS on AT&T via a throwaway phone but not the iPhone. Doesnt make sense...

  • IPhone MMS on other GSM carriers

Since the iPhone 4 can now be bought unlocked and carrier free in the US, will Apple provide a way to set up MMS on the iPhone?  Currently, the only way to get MMS working is through jailbreaking and I do not wish to do that.  The phone recognized my SIM right away and was connected to data automatically.  Its just when I try and receive an MMS, the error "media content not included due to picture res or msg size restriction".  An Apple rep has told me that since T-Mobile is a GSM carrier, it will be supported.

    RangerLG wrote:
Thank you, but I disagree since this feature can be made to work on Jailbroken iPhones.
Then jailbreak it and deal with the consequences.  T-Mobile in the U.S. is not a supported carrier. Just because you can do something on a jailbroken phone, doesn't mean it's going to be supported on a carrier that is KNOWN not to work well with the iPhone.

  • Iphone MMS software

Does anybody else think its a shame I have had to disable MMS features on my new iphone as due to recent changes in software group texts over 10 recipients or long texts over 160 characters are now automatically sent as MMS and therefore incur charges not covered under free messages. I have had 2 recent bills of nearly £100 instead of £17.00. The only way to be sure of this not happening was to disable the MMS features on the phone, so I now have a lovely new Iphone that is unable to use all of its functions as the software has not been thought through!
I would have sent a private complaint to apple but could not find the relevant place to send it to so I guess it will have to be out in the open.

  • IPhone MMS messages

I just bought a new iphone 3GS and found out that I cannot send or receive pictures in my text messages as I could do with my previous provider. The website video says that I should be able to send and receive pictures via MMS, but I do not seem to be able to have this option when I open a pic from my phone. It will let me email them, but that is not what I wish to do. Can anyone help me.

According to a MacWorld article: "Later this summer, as part of the 3.0 software, AT&T will make multimedia messaging (MMS) available at no extra cost to customers with a text messaging bundle." http://www.macworld.com/article/141155/2009/06/attmms_will_be_available_at_no_extra_cost_if_you_havetext.html
It's included with OS 3.0, but not activated until available from AT&T.
"Turn MMS messaging on or off:
In Settings, tap Messages, then tap MMS Messaging to turn it on or off. You may want to turn MMS Messaging off, for example, to prevent sending or receiving attachments when fees apply.
NOTE: The MMS Messaging setting doesn’t appear if MMS isn’t supported by your carrier."

  • IPhone MMS

I have found out that you can send a picture message to another ATT customer or IPhone. Pick a Picture from photo library then choose email photo in email address send it to "[email protected]
    works fine
    IPhone   Other OS

Does that work if someone sends an MMS to you? And even for sending, it's not exactly "Apple Easy" -- how many of your contacts do you know the carrier for?
I absolutely love using my iPhone for the most part, but MMS and real Exchange ActiveSync support are features that most other smartphones that sell for half the price offer standard, and I miss them already.

  • BT Iphone & MMS

When I first got an iPhone 4s on BT I used this this link to change the settings for MMS / internet. It was all fine for a while but for some reason now I can still access the web but MMS messages fail. I suspect it stopped working around the time I upgraded to IOS6 but I can't be sure. I've tried the settings a load of times and also restored the phone to factory and entered the settings without restoring from backup but no with luck.
    Any ideas?

    Welcome to the forum.
Take the SIM card out of the phone for at least an hour as the SIM can accumulate some cache from previous useage which might promote a conflict, in your case between two handsets. Before you take the SIM out, wipe all the settings in question from the device. Once re-installed into the device, input the settings again.
If you're sure your settings are correct, contact BT mobile and ask them if your account is [still] provisioned for MMS.
While you are onto BT mobile, ask them to confirm the [current] MMS settings for your SIM card and any extra's for the i phone you might need to know about.
Last stop then IMHO is to ask for a replacement SIM card because you think on the basis of the tried and failed above, that the SIM has become faulty.

  • What is new AT&T iPhone MMS date? I see integrated messaging feature

Okay, I heard that this was to happen at then end of Summer, then end of July.
So what is the new date? I see Integrated Messaging counters in my AT&T profile as of this week.
Should we expect another update to sync with iTunes to get it working?

Funny. I'm going to mark this question as answered -and this last post as funny.
I hope it isn't sarcasm, cause my sarcasm detector runs on Windows 7 and I currently have my VMware Fusion session powered off.
The heart of my question was really the "integrated message" counter in my AT&T profile. I was hoping to hear others just got it, or don't have it, or when they got it, and they I could magically extrapolate a new MMS rumor date.
Anyway, I don't have to go to UK (although a good choice), cause Rogers in Canada has MMS already.

  • IPhone mms issue

    Please try this:
    Turn on iMessage
    Turn on mms
Turn off send as SMS if imessage fails
Go to camera roll, select picture, then the share button and pick message
Send to a non ios person
Does your message automatically fail as the phone automatically tries to send as iMessage?

Last night was the first time I had attempted to send a picture via MMS on my new Iphone4. I took a picture with the phone and attempted to send it but kept getting a red exclamation point indicating failure. It would load to about 98% and then fail. I tried rebooting etc but nothing helped. This morning I did two things and finally got it to successfully send a picture.
    1. I turned on location services for the camera
    2. I cleared all history/cookies/cache (setting>safari>clear history/cookies/cache
I took a new picture with the iphone4 and sent it successfully. I turned off the location services for the camera and tried to send a previously failed picture and again it failed. I turned the location services back on for the camera and the previously failed picture went through successfully.
Either there is an intermittent problem causing the issue or the location services has to be "ON" for camera in order to send a picture via MMS. Give it a try and see what happens.

  • Iphone 4s unable to send mms over gprs, is there a fix for this?

OK so after much hunting around the net and many calls to both my network provider and apple i found this link myself http://www.nowsms.com/iphone-mms-message-send-failure-on-gprs-and-edge that answered my problem. The answer being there is no solution :-S  ............ so im now asking here if anyone knows of a fix or work around for this problem.

    Howdy there Tuna241,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPhone is restarting unexpectedly after the update to iOS 7.0.2.
I recommend the steps outlined in the article named:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • I cannot receive pictures in mms with unlocked iphone on tmobile.

How can I fix this? (I already contacted Apple support and Tmobile support and what they told me to do didn't help.
These are the settings they told me to use:
    MMS
    APN wap.voicestream.com
    Username [blank]
    Password [blank]
    MMSC http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    MMS Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080
    MMS Max Message Size 1048576
    MMS UA Prof URL http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
I was also told by Tmobile to try using Cydia but I can't find that app in the App Store...
    Thanks for any help.

They are suggesting that you jailbreak your iPhone; use Google to find details it can't be discussed here and will void your warranty once you do so. It is the only way you will be able to use MMS on T-Mobile.
You also will not be able to use FaceTime or Visual Voice Mail and you will only be able to get EDGE data speeds (about 100kps max if you have a great signal and no one else is using the tower).
Google "iPhone MMS T-Mobile" for resolution of that problem.

  • NEW AT&T MMS DATE

The new date for iPhone MMS for AT&T is September 25th.
Thank goodness for that. I thought there was something going wrong when I updated my iPhone and it still wasn't there.
But now the question is are they going to put off the launch again?
    Hopefully not.

How come I don't have MMS?
