2K Proxy "Mess"

So I have generated the 1K Proxy of a 2K file... Now if I want to play the proxy the image goes NUTS!! The top of the screen shows me parts of the proxy duplicated twice at about 10 the size of the screen. Then below is a large block of crazy image jumping and rolling all over the place. AS soon as you disable proxy support it dissapears...
Anyone else seen this?!
Also has anyone figued out a hack to allow DPX or 10bit LOG 4:4:4 Kona codec output if you are grading from QT files in color?

Try making a smaller proxy or as an MOV ProRes rather than a DPX. DPX can be quite touchy in Color depending on your hardware.

I also the same problem since a few days, on both iPad and iPhone before upgrading to iOS 8 and continued after update, in all browsers: Safari, Chrome and even when visiting website from Twitter app. The problem also happens on Safari for Mac when setting user agent to be iOS 7.  I also tested with 2 routers and 3G connection and problem remained, but all of them are STC in KSA.
Do you have any suspicious profiles installed in Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management (if that item exists near the bottom of the General list) or a VPN profile installed under Settings > General > VPN?
Do you have any proxies defined in your Wi-fi connections (Settings > Wi-Fi > tap "I" in a circle icon)?
These would not explain you seeing this over 3G or on a Mac by changing the user agent to match iOS 7, though.
Does this happen with all page loads, or just web searches?  (Any suspicious search engines listed in Settings > Safari > Search Engine?)
This almost appears to be a transparent http proxy messing with your web browser requests, and/or some kind of poisoned DNS server.  Does this happen on both http (non-secure) and https (secure) connections?  For example, does loading <http://google.com/> differ from loading <https://google.com/>?

  • I reset firefox because of slowness, now it says firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections, what a mess! r

I use windows 7 home premium. Firefox button was connecting so slow to get on internet so I used the reset button. Now firefox is configured to use proxy server that is refusing connections, unreal...Hope you can help soon...Thanks, Donna

hello, please check in ''firefox > options > advanced > network > connection - settings...'' if firefox is set up to directly connect to the internet ('no proxy').

  • My MAC is running very slow and i am a complete novice and don't know what to do. i have had my Mac since 2008 and its probably in a mess. if you can help i would be grateful. EtreCheck version: 1.9.15 (52) Report generated 8 September 2014 09:09:26

My MAC runs very slow. Rainbow wheel every time i try to go somewhere. Im a complete MAC novice. Only really use it for iTunes and email. the odd document here and there. The odd spreadsheet. Was brought up on a PC. I would imagine my system is in  mess. I think i downloaded that Mackeeper which i have just discovered was not a good idea. I found a thread about EtreCheck and it suggested i posted the report of my machine which i have done.I only have 2GB of space. Not sure how much i have left. My wife keeps putting photos on here like they are going out of fashion. Bought the machine in 2008 because everybody said you have a MAC. I've never really got to grips with it but at least it worked. Now it does not run very well at all. That spinning wheel is driving me mad. HELP please, never ever used a forum light this either so please go gentle on me. Cheers Paul

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can read it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • HT1296 Comcast does not allow me to use iCloud to sync my iPhone.  An apple genius gave me a special DNS server to allow syncing.  That did not work at home.  So I used a secure proxy server outside the US, and then was able to sync.

Comcast claims that are not blocking ports.  Technically from what I understand they are not.  They just don't recongnize the iCloud server address on their DNS.  An Apple Genius gave me a "free access DNS" which they use in the Oakrigde store to sync to iCloud.  It works great in the store with my computer and iPhone but not at home.  After a comversation with an IT person in Germany he explained that due to the limited number of ports available and the almost infitinite appetite for ports companies often choose to manage the number of ports avialable for use by their customers.   What did work for me was to use a secure proxy server with secure encoding.  It works great!  However as the cloud does seem to go down from time to time I would prefer to also have the USB cable option for syncing.

This does not make sense. If comcast blocked iCloud.com there would be millions of posts here about it, as comcast is one of the largest ISPs in the US. Most likely you have DNS settings messed up in your router or your computer. Ports and DNS have nothing to do with each other. A "port" is just part of a complete URL. Using a port does not have any affect on the ISP, who doesn't even see the port in the packet.

  • Call transaction in abap server proxy

    Hallo
We have a problem with one of our server proxys.
    Scenario: SAP - backend system
The functionality implemented is the creation of a service notification
(IW51). The creation is made using batch input/call transaction and is
capsuled in an function module. In case of error by creation, the
message table will be read and a application error will be raise.
In the implementation of the proxy class the function module will be called
and the exceptions will be read and put in the response.
In case of success by the creation of the notification, everything is working ok.
In case of error in the call transaction, we will receive a "server
error" in XI, even if the error is catched and treated. In the trace we can see the error message from the call transaction, even if we do not send these messages in our response anymore.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Call Adapter
      -->
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1>500</SAP:P1>
      <SAP:P2>Internal Server Error</SAP:P2>
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText><html> <body> <H1> 500 SAP Internal Server Error </H1> <B> Error message: </B> Counter reading smaller than in previous document 10000009340 ( <B> type of termination: </B> ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE ) <BR /> </body> </html></SAP:AdditionalText>
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
<SAP:Stack>HTTP response contains status code 500 with the description Internal Server Error XML element Envelope missing in SOAP message header (SAP XI Extension)</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>N</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
Ex: if by call transaction we have at the end 2 messages ( first W and second E) , we will see in the tracing in XI the second message ( so the error one ).
In the backend system (SAP), under sxmb_moni the message in question has the status : "green flag".
We used the same way of implemenation for all our interfaces. The only difference is that we are now using a batch and not a bapi or SAP function module for objects creation.
Has someone any idea? . Any suggestion will be really helpful.
    Thanks.

    Hi Udo
My response has the following structure:
    notification nr
    + 3 fields: message type (E,W,I,S,A)

In case of error I should receive this filled structure and not a internal service error.

  • PROXY to SOAP ; HTTP403 error in PI 7.1

    Hi team,
it was proxy to HTTP scenario. Receiver : webportal . We have chnged it to Proxy to SOAP ,due to HTTP does not support multi message generation . I have checked Do NOT USE SOAP Envelope in SOAP rcv channel. Pls find the config details.
    Adapter Type: SOAP
    Trans.protocal: HTTP
    Mess.Protocal: SOAP1.1
Do not use SOAP envelope : Checked
Now Im getting error in RWB .
"Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 403 Access denied"
I checked with the basis people- they confirmed - some request hitting the site. but unable to read the content . they specified HTTP header should contain the content type : text/xml . If I checked "Do not use SOAP envelope " , I guess the content type is application/xml etc.
so how can I change the HTTP content type to text/xml. OR any other reason tfor this error.

The content type when Do Not Use SOAP Envelope is checked defaults to application/xml. To change it to the correct content type, use the MessageTransformBean for your requirement.

  • Unable to poll for files in FTP server using Proxy Service (in OSB Project)

Here are the stepd followed for creating proxy service that should poll ftp server to retrieve files but polling is not happening and unable to see any errors in logs.
    1. Created service account by selecting resource type as static and providing the ftp user and password details.
    2. Created a New Proxy Service in eclipse
Tab General - service type as Messaging Service
Tab Messaging - Request Message Type as Text, Response message type as None
Tab Transport - Protocol selected as "ftp"
              - Endpoint uri entered in the format - ftp://hostname:port/directory
FTP Transport -Selected "external user" as User Authentication
              - Selected the Service Account thats created in step1/
                   - File mMask - *.*
                   - Polling Interval 60
                   - Read Limit 10
                   - Post Read Action - Delete
                   - Transfer mode - binary
                   - Download Directory - "some local directoy"
                   - Error Directory - "some local error directory"
Could any one please help here to trouble shoot the polling issue and correct me if this is wrong approach.
    Thanks

Did you configure the FTP adapter which is present in Weblogic server?I think he's using FTP transport in OSB and not the JCA adapter, if that's the case FtpAdapter configuration wouldn't help...
unable to see any errors in logsThat's odd, try to mess up the hostname and see if you get a connection refused on the logs...
It may be a permissions issue, the user you're connecting may not even "see" the files you place there... Try using the same user to create and to poll files...
    Cheers,
    Vlad

  • Pacproxy (or something that vaguely resembles an apt-proxy clone)

this may not be the right forum for this, but here is a little python app to proxy packages from a mirror, and (eventually) to automatically create repos from available packages in the local ABS tree.  i didnt like the suggested solution of network mounting /var/cache/pacman/pkg/, and i wanted my ABS built packages to autoupdate without running a repo-add manually all the time... and i detest cron jobs.
as started, this started as a project to automatically create repos from any available binary packages existing within the ABS tree; i havent quite finished that yet.  i am using the proxy part for 4 arch machines in my home and it seems to be doing pretty good.  when the ABS stuff is done it will behave like this:
    /var/abs/<repo_name>/..../..../{pkg/,src/}
where any packages in directory <repo_name> will be advertised as being a part of a repo with the same name (the <repo_name>.db.tar.gz file will be dynamically created and cached, this is the part im not done with).  it wont matter how deep the pkg file is, and the architecture will be automatically accounted for by reading the .PKGINFO file.
right now though, proxying from ONE mirror (will probably add support for a mirror list like in pacman.d, but im not sure how this is handled exactly, any info on that would be great) seems to work pretty good, and it will proxy both architectures.  as is, it will store pakages and a small "cache" file in .pacproxy/<repo_name>/<arch>/.  the cache file has the same name as the package, and simply holds the Etag or Last-Modified header from when the package was pulled from the mirror.  everytime a file is requested, a HEAD request is sent to the mirror using that information, and if a 304 (not-modified) is returned, the cached copy is used, else the new copy is pulled and the cache file updated.  looks something like this:
    [cr@extOFme-d0 ~]$ tree .pacproxy
    .pacproxy

i am still relatively new to the python scene, and i know there are several optimizations and probably alot of refactoring that will happen before im satisfied with it, but i think it is useful enough at this point to release to everyone here.  any ideas are very welcome, and once i finally get my server back to the datacenter, ill host this (in git) on extof.me along with some other goodies TBA at a later date :).  see POSSIBLE CAVEATS and DEVELOPMENT for ideas as to where im going and some issues that are definately present right now.
    DEPENDENCIES
    $ pacman -S cherrypy
    HOW TO USE
...point pacman.conf to it (port 8080 by default)...
    Server = http://localhost:8080/archlinux/$repo/os/x86_64
...edit pacproxy.py and change "mirrors" to an appropriate one for you (use $arch variable!)...
    mirrors = {'mirrors.gigenet.com': '/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch'}
    $ python pacproxy.py
    POSSIBLE CAVEATS
    1) multiple requests from multiple machines at the same time will probably cause some problems right now, as the cache's state will be inconsistent.  i *think* concurrent tools like powerpill will still work correctly from the same machine, since its not pulling the same packages twice, and cherrypy will handle the threading.
    2) im pretty sure the caching stuff is working correctly, but im not sure if pacman is realizing that its real copy (specifically the db.tar.gz files) is up to date.  i may need to send some additional headers
    3) if its not obvious, this only proxies http requests, not ftp
    4) there is no cache cleaning in .pacproxy, as files become out of date, they will just stay there and take up space.  not a huge deal, im just not sure how to address this, maybe remove them after X days of not being accessed
    5) there is some security issues with eval'ing the .cache file (its just a dict), should maybe do that differently
    6) im sure there are many other problems and security flaws, ill list/remove them as the show up/are fixed
    DEVELOPMENT
    1) anyone looking to mess with this (please do!), you can use cherrypy.log(msg) to send stuff to the log file (stdout unless you've changed it)
    2) fix some concurrency issues by stalling one thread's download of a pkg until another thread has finished writing the pkg to the cache (hopefully lockfiles+timeouts will take care of this)
    3) finish the ABS autobuilder, and maybe look into pulling in packages from another machines ABS tree using ssh/paramiko or similar (that would be cool)
    4) make the code cleaner and avoid some of the duplication, move to multiple files (cherrypy supports auotmatically monitoring modules for changes then reloading them) otherwise changes to the main file causes a reload of the entire server which could interrupt downloads.  plus right now its pretty much one huge function
    5) python/cherrypy isnt the most efficient way to deliver a large file, maybe there is a way to use python for the logic and a better server to actually read out the file to the client?
    6) probably dont need to ping the server for updates to pkg files... the name of the file *should* change when the file's updated.  this was mainly for ABS derived packages
    7) shower me with ideas!
    and now some code!

  • SAVE_STYLESHEET RC_6 error in ABAP proxy- CRM

    Hi,
I developed a POC with just 2 fields in DT,for sender SOAP adapter and reciver ABAP proxy. It is running successfully.
But when i developed a actual scenarios with big structure it is giving the following error.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Call Inbound Proxy

    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">

The only difference in both cases is, i developed everything in client 120 for POC. For actual scenario i created proxy class in client 110 and Technical system and everyting is pointing to client 120. Is it causing any problem?
Everyting is fine in XI but in CRM SXMB_MONI i can see the above error...
    How to solve this issue.

i tired again.. i regenerated the proxy ... but still same problem..
i dont think internal framework problem.. because it worked for other scenario ( test scenario). I think i only messed it up some where.. but i dont know how to find out  or how to debug the problem..
I have  a doubt on package structure in which i am saving the proxy class.
i created a structuer package( level1) for which i assigned SAPPINT and for all other packages( level2- main package,level3-non main package, level4-non main package)i assigend SAI_SXMS, SAI_TOOLS, SAPPINT. I am saving the proxy class in level4 package. I am not able to assing SAI_SXMS,SAI_TOOLS to structure package. Is it causing any problem???????
    any help please...

  • [RPC Fault faultString="HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type" faultCode="Server.Proxy.Request.Failed"

    Hi,
Posting in the 'General' forums as well. Did not yet get any response for the topic posted in the 'Configuration and Getting Started Discussion' forum.
I am having nightmares to call the POST method of a REST service thru Flex. Initially tried with the HTTPService without any proxy server. Wasn't able to call POST, though the GET method was successfully called. Please see the post here (http://www.flexdeveloper.eu/forums/actionscript-3-0/how-to-acces-post-method-of-rest-web -service-thru-flex/)
b THEN I tried with BlazeDS
, but with the same results!
I have set up BlazeDS with the integrated Tomcat option. I have also set up the Flex project as mentioned in the instructions. It is working fine when I run the sample projects.
    But the problem is that
    i when I try to access a
b POST for a REST service,
i I get the "HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type" fault.
b The complete fault I'm getting is: [RPC Fault faultString="HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type" faultCode="Server.Proxy.Request.Failed" faultDetail="HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type"]

I have added correct entry to the policy-config.xml (I know this because the GET for the same REST service is working).
b Only the POST thing is giving me the fault!
Appreciate any inputs. (am in need of 'em badly)
    thanks
    BJG

My guess is that the Server/Rest service doesn't like the content type of the request. HTTPService uses a content type of application/x-www-form-urlencoded by default. Maybe the Rest service is expecting the request to be XML? If that's the case, you need to set the contentType property of the HTTPService to application/xml.
Sometimes an HTTP sniffer/proxy such as Charles can be useful for debugging these kinds of issues. If my suggestion doesn't help, capture the HTTP request and response using a HTTP sniffer like Charles and post back to this thread with it and someone will take a look at it for you. Thanks.

  • Certificate problem in Proxy Server (ODSEE 11g)

I am having a problem adding a CA Certificate to the Proxy Server. I followed the steps in the documentation, however I get the error: "keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Public keys in reply and keystore don't match".
From what I have read, this error means that the alias name I am using when I add the new certificate is already being used. As per the documentation...
When you request a CA-signed certificate, a temporary self-signed certificate is created. When you receive and install the CA-signed certificate from the CA, the new certificate replaces the temporary self-signed certificate.
... and this does happen. However when I bring in the new cert to replace... I get the mentioned error.
If I use a different alias, it doesn't give me an error. However, I can't see it when I use the "dpadm list-certs" command (although it is there when I use the keytool command). More importantly, the "defaultservercert" is still the certificate being used when accessing the server.
So the big question is... How do I get the Proxy Server to use the new CA Certificate?
I've tried using the keytool command in many different ways, and it fails each time. Lesson learned: don't mess with the keystore via keytool. Any changes made are not recognized by the Proxy Server.
I don't have access to this Proxy Server via DSCC because I do not have the password for the account running the services (a restriction made by the client), so it all to be done via CLI.
The operating system is Oracle Solaris 10 8/11 s10s_u10wos_17b SPARC.

  • ProRes project - Convert to Proxy mid project.??????

Im working on a pop video...shot on a Canon 550d.
Ive imported the footage using the CANON conversion... I choose Pro Res .....(Not Proxy)
    50fps  1280 x720...
Started editing and realized that I cant run Multicam on my set up.....grinds to a halt ( 6 angles)....
How can I convert to Pro Rez Proxy mid project and carry on working , then go back to the full Pro res for master.
Ive messed around with Media manager.... but not quite sure as the right wrokflow...?
Ideally I would like to edit in DV PAL ( like I used to on my old FZ1)..... BUT the system media manager wouldnt allow me to work in DV 25fps....
As the orginal foootage is all 50fps....
BUT PROXY may be the way to go....
Also I converted about 10 clips using Cinema Tools to 25fps for slow motion, this has given me exactly the same file names for the slow mo clips as the master clips...
Thus creating confustion when trying to re connect to higher rez formats.
ALL HELP greatly welcome....... ..   Im sure im making it more difficult than it needs be...
    THANKS

  • ZFH5.1 Proxy SILENT Install

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to get a silent install setup for the proxy clients and I
    just
can't seem to get it to work. I've read through the admin guide,
    following
it to the letter, but it doesn't seem to work silently.
It created the setup.iss file, as well as modified the proxy.ini. I
    copied
these to the central install directory for the proxy client. I'm
    using
ZFD3.2 to deliver the software....I add the "-s" switch in the
    application
parameters. When I click the icon, it appears to do something but it
    never
installs. The application log files show distribution success, but no
    files
are ever dropped down. If I remove the s switch, it will execute theinstall program just fine, but it's obviously not silent and I need to
    go
    through every step again.
I also copied the central install directory to the local machine and
executed setup.exe -s locally, and that doesn't work either.
    Any ideas I can try??
    TIA,
    Ryan Van Thiel

Thanks a lot Dave, that was a big help. It took me a little bit
before I figured out that it was writing a log file to the network actually.
But adding the f2 switch easily resolved this. The parameters just
    read as
    "-s -f2c:\zfhproxy.log"
    Thanks again,
    Ryan
"David W Kegel" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:[email protected]...
    Hi Ryan,
When using the -S switch, InstallShield writes a setup.log file in
the directory you are installing from. The process that has spawned InstallShield needs rights to create a file. As an alternative, you
can use the "-f2[path\log file name]" option to have the log file written
in a different location, one you know the process will have write rights
in. This is a common problem. It comes up when users try doing a silent install off of a CD as well.
    I hope this helps.

Ok, I think I have it figured out, but I have NO idea why this is
    the case.
I'm hoping someone can explain it to me, I don't see anything in the
    admin
    guide.
I must have messed up the local install the first time, because I =tried
again, and it actually worked. So if I execute setup.exe -s from a
    local
install directory, it works. However, it still wasn't working via
    NAL or
the centralized network directory. It ended up being file rights to
    the
centralized install directory. With read-only rights, it doesn't =work. If
I gave the user full rights to the install directory, the silent install
works just fine. What could it possibly be writing to the install
directory? Is this really the way it's supposed to work? Any light
    someone
can shed on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • ASA 5512-X - VPN & local clients DHCP relaying (DHCP Proxy vs. DHCP Relay conflict)

    Hey all,
I have ASA-5512-X serving as general firewall/router. It also serves as AnyConnect SSL VPN gateway (webvpn).
It has ~10 VLANs connected over 1 trunk port. One of the VLANs has DHCP server that shall serve all the VLANs (192.168.16.2).
I'm trying to have the ASA relay DHCP requests from all VLANs to the DHCP server and to also serve VPN clients.
However, according to bug https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCsd22469 both DHCP Proxy (webvpn) and DHCP Relay (local interfaces) can't be enabled at the same time.
As VPN clients connect to the same VLANs as local users (eg. VLAN 2 - 192.168.2.0/24) I want to have the very same DHCP server serving both, otherwise it's gonna become a mess.
Note: if I configure DHCP Relay functionality and disable DHCP Proxy - local clients are served fine. If I configure DHCP Proxy (webvpn) and disable DHCP Relay VPN clients are served fine. I therefore consider setup to be correct, just the ASA limitation won't allow me to make it serve both.
Can DHCP Relay also serve VPN clients (no DHCP Proxy enabled)? did I miss something?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The only workaround for this issue is to configure the ASA itself to act as DHCP server for vpn clients. You also have the flexibility of using local pool and AAA server. Why exactly do you want to use the same DHCP server for both?
