2nd Excite 10 won't start

I am on my second Excite 10 and it wobn't charge or start now either. Bought the first one in mid June. Replaced it due to same problem through the direct replacement warranty I purchased at the store where I bought it in mid October. Now the "new" one won't start or charge either. If I push the start button and hold it I get a brief vibration. Same if I push the volume down ad start button at teh same time. I haven't been back to the store yet but I don't think I want another Toshiba product. The Kindle Fire I purchased at the same time as the first one works great.
Disgusted.

I am getting to the same point with the same frustrations. I bought mine on an Air Force base with warranty but when my Toshiba first did what your describing, they sent me to Toshiba and said I had to deal with them for the first year of their warranty. So, what they figured out was that the "motherboard was bad" which they fixed and sent it back. A month later, and now my tablet won't power on again. This time, it makes it to the startup screen (the second where there is balls of light sort of pop across the horizon) but it NEVER moves past that point and it will not allow me to power it off at this point (been stuck on the startup screen for about 30 minutes now).
I am DEFINITELY with you and feel your pains!!!!

Web services won't start - error 100002

I have done a freash install of Leopard Server 10.5.4 and updated to 10.5.8 on an Xserve G5. Added a 2nd web site (in addition to default) and now web services won't start returning the error:
A service has encounted an error.
Try to refresh the view (mysever.com/Web)
(Could not start web service - details in error log.)

Indesign 9.1 won't start after 9.2 patch failed

I am running a Windows 7 system with CC and CS6 aps.
I tried installing the latest June 2014 update. It apparently applied correctly to ID CC6 but failed on ID CC. I reapplied it (2nd failure) and tried to start ID CC(64bit) but something broke and now startup gets to "Calling Late initializers" and Windows shuts it down with an "Adobe InDesign has stopped working" message.
Indesign (32bit) starts OK. Other CC aps start OK.
I have tried everything I could think of to clear this:
Delete preferences and restart
Sign in/out of CC
Reboot
Uninstall/reinstall (multiple times over a slow DSL connection. <sigh>)
Verify ID CC(64bit) fails in W7 safe mode (It does)
Restore to an earlier point via W7 restore.
As this is an install on a second machine I compared the files in C:\Users{user}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe InDesign\9.1 in the good install with the bad install and moved/renamed everything that was different.
I tried running the CC cleaner tool. If I uninstall InDesign CC it is not in the list of programs in the CC cleaner tool. If I don't uninstall it then CC cleaner wants to clear the uninstall files. I don't think that's what I want to do.
Nothing has helped.
I do have a current system partition image backup I can restore from but I would prefer to not do anything that drastic if it can be avoided.
(I am aware this is probably two separate problems: 1) 9.2 won't apply to ID CC and 9.1 (64bit) won't start. Right now I just want to get 9.1 to start..)
(This was also posted in the InDesign forum assuming folks there would be more familiar with InDesign installs but it was suggested I post here. I apologize for the duplication.)

Yes, I found out Indd 32 bit will indeed start.
While I have a recent system partition image file I could restore from, it would seem if others are seeing this then there isn't much point, the problem would probably return when I did the patch.
Strangely, another W7 machine accepted both patches without a problem.

Firefox 3.6.3 won't start with a particular file:///

I can do {"c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" file:///n:\911c\OwenShow\helphtm\ohelpfrm.htm} but I can't do the same thing in a windows exec; firefox runs and hangs-up in the background. I assume this is FF's problem because when I run firefox again after killing it, the file appears correctly; or if I run firefox, and then try the exact same exec process, it works (i.e., in a 2nd tab). Updated OSX (10.6.5) - and then thought what the heck, I'll trying enabling Firefox Sync. And it worked - for a couple of days. Until I accepted the update for Firefox Sync (1.5.1) - and I am back where I started, nothing works.

IPod touch won't start at all!

My iPod touch is a 2nd gen. version3.1.2 . I did a restore from iTunes and now my iTouch won't start at all. I think it's dead, someone please help me!

First ? would be is it charged sorry got to ask. Did you try and hold the button on top and the one on the front at the same time and keep holding it even when the turn power slide shows don't let go until you see the apple than let go. than try to turn it on. Sometimes they freeze it happen to me when I first got it.

Charger stays green, battery won't charge and MacBook won't start up

My son just gave me his old MacBook. While visiting him it worked fine, stayed charged up a long time. When I got home & plugged in the charger and it stayed green, didn't turn amber. Read the user manual and checked the battery level which is 1 blinking light only. It won't power up (I tried all the troubleshooting tips on pg 54) and the battery is not charging. Does anyone think I just need a new battery or do you think I need a new power cord?

TV shows and Movies won´t start, only loading and then nothing

Suddenly TV Shows and Movies won´t start on my Apple TV. After purchasing, it starts to load and then nothing. It loads for a few minutes and it says it was "unsuccesfull". I have tried to restart the Apple TV and the WiFi. Please help!

E5 won't start after multitasking freeze

my E5 is shut itself afer using Opera Web + music + Palringo
i can't turn it on after, i need to wait for about 4 hours or more before starting it = it as soft reseted alone but how can i accelerate the process if i can't even turn it back on !
ps : nokia review advice for nokia E5 don't buy it ... go to Blackberry if you can !

The thread looks familiar to me. I just came from Nokia Care Center a while ago and left my Nokia E5-00 phone there with the same problem as everyone else on the thread.
I am from the Philippines and my Nokia E5-00 was made in Korea, sent to Hong Kong, and then sold here in the Philippines. That is a lot of cost saving activities to do.
I previously had my first Nokia E5-00 a week ago, Monday. It felt like I am the happiest man in the Philippines. You know, the "I have a Smartphone!" proud feeling of a young man.
But all excitements turned into saddening experience. My contacts are not accessible from theMenu and the Shortcut (default: right selection key) making it inconvenient to create a message or call a contact.
That was a different issue. So I made my phone replaced and last Sunday, 2 days ago, I had my new Nokia E5-00 unit.

The contacts were good as all other applications were.
Then, I started having problems as everyone else in the thread experienced. The phone had a bad restart habit and it was, in fact, irritating. It was tolerable at first. Not bad for a replacement phone. I was not much bothered with the restarts.
Then, I was able to start utilizing GPS, like I would get lost. It was an amazing experience for someone here in the Philippines. I was proud to have a good working GPS in my phone!
But, unluckily, 30 minutes after the fun. I set my phone to go back to work and WALAH! My phone shuts down after transferring some files. Good thing my Nokia E5-00 finished all transfers before dying out.
It was not quite the Nokia Smartphone I expected. And, that was really disappointing. Thank you im_mobile for the term.
I did not expect to see these much people complaining problem with Nokia E5-00. Same as everyone else experienced.
How should Nokia fix this? I am not in the position to say this, but Nokia should (1) recall these defective Nokia E5-00 products (Thanks magnum_jon) and (2) replace all defective units from unsatisfied customers.
I think Nokia will not get hurt from returned phones. In fact, they will have the benefit of immediately finding out what the problem is and they will be able to fix this immediately if they get all of our defective Nokia E5-00 units. They can (1) isolate the problem, (2) test as many phones as they want, (3) find out the problem and (4) make a happy customer.
These much claims is not tolerable. This is degrading Nokia. I believe Nokia has seen much already, and I am hoping that by the time they read my post, it would be the last.
And the next reply to this thread would be a happy customer with a newly replaced, non-defective, Nokia device.

USB HDD won't start becouse it's drawing to much power???

I've recently moved to Mountain Lion and since then this is the 2nd time i'm getting a message that says:
"Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled."
and my external HDD won't start.
I'm really ****** off 'cuz i can't get some importnant data.
I've changed 2 cables, and i've started the same HDD on another computer i hv in the house without any problems..
does anybody hv any idea what can i do to fix this??

man....i know it'll work with power hub, but if i need to hv power hub to start one externall hdd on my mac, well...why do i need that kind of computer the??? c'mon...this is some software issue cuz i can use it at the moment...and i didnt do anything different....just connected my iphone 1st, and then re-connected my hdd and it works...why?? well...i guess that only apple know why...
anyway....with big sadness, if these issues continue happening (like this usb power, then trim support not wanting go enable etc...) i'll move to pc...

SAP won't start after recabeling sap system

I have recently recabled my sap system (from wireless to wired) and now my sap instance won't start anymore. The weird thing is that nothing major was changed. When i read the logs from the work directory it seems it cannot load dbsdbslib.dll. I have updated to the latest version of the kernel and maxdb (kernel=7.00 patch 221, maxdb=7.6.06.07) and i made very sure i got the right kernel (NT AMD64). I also checked the environment settings for the <sid>adm user. The weird part is that it seems SAP cannot connect to the database, but the databse starts just fine and r3trans -d also returns no errors. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

1. Did you create the SAP ticket, where this problem is
reported?
I didn't report it to SAP because it is just an IDES test
system. I can easily do a reinstall, but i would like to know the cause and
solution to this problem.

My iPhone 5 won't start!

My Iphone 5 won't start and tells me to connect the phone to ITunes but nothing happens when I do. The phone doesn´t show up in ITunes. What to do?

Apologies, 11.0.4 is the most recent of course...
You'll need to enter DFU mode.
Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes
Turn the iPhone off (hold down the power button at the top of the iPhone)
Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button
Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected
Hopefully this should work, with you being able to restore the device in iTunes.
However, be warned that this will erase all content on the iPhone, content you can restore if you have saved backups on your Mac/PC or on iCloud.

Did you download the new iTunes update that was also released this afternoon? That might be the problem. The new iTunes update came out today as well as the new iOS 7 update and if you haven't downloaded the new iTunes update it may be a compatibility problem so if you didn't, first update to the new iTunes and try again.

All of a sudden Photoshop won't start [on a Macbook Air]

Dear all,
I'm on a MacBook Air with OS X 10.10.2, and I use Photoshop about once a month, but now I really need it, and it won't start:
- Immediately after I click on the Photoshop icon I get "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 cannot be opened because of a problem." And when I click on the "Report..." button I get a very technical message (see below).
- I've used Photoshop on this machine for about a year with no problem, but recently I had a problem and needed to restore from my TimeMachine backup.
- I don't know if the problem occurred immediately after the restore or not.
- I've read innumerable threads on various forums, but nothing describes my problem exactly. I suspect a problem with my paths and permissions (since I read a report that restoring from a TimeMachine causes such problems occasionally), but I don't know which path is corrupted/missing/unreadable.
- I've tried creating a new admin account and starting Photoshop from there. It didn't work.
- I don't mind reinstalling, but I don't have an installer image. I started with Photoshop 6, then updated to CS2, CS4 and eventually CS5. I do have all the serial numbers but not all update-images.
I would appreciate any hints on how to further diagnose and some the problem.

Did tou try resetting the preferences usins the Photoshop keys as your tryind to start Photoshop. Toy cab also use Windows explored or Mac finder deleteor rename you userid Photoshop preferende if you change you OS preferences to be able to see hiddeb files and folders. To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard short cut:
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.
Note: Using the keyboard shortcut, preference files for custom shortcuts, workspaces, and color setings will also be reset to default.

X11 won't start anymore!

this is a desperate call: I am at a conference with my MBP, (10.6.7, all updates done). I need Matlab for my presentation, which needs X11.
X11 (and XQuartz) decided that they won't start anymore: the icon bounces in the dock for a while, then sits there without the little light underneath, and X11 is "non responding".
The logs show something like this.
I have googled and searched: similar problems once in a while appear but no posted solution.
I tried:
1) reinstalling XQuartz (I would reinstall X11, but how? I do not have the disks with me, I am away!)
2) from an admin account
3) create a new account.
4) repair permissions.
5) reinstall the font update from Apple that was recently issued.
HELP PLEASE!!!

Here is the solution: there was nothing wrong with x11 per se!
The problem was that about 30 files in /usr/bin (like gzip, egrep, hexdump etc) had been hosed (they had 0 file size). The puzzling messages was due to the fact that startx uses hexdump, which was simply silently doing nothing (since it had 0 size!).
I do not know what or when these files were zeroed: I suspect a recent OSX update which did not complete and I had to forcefully reboot.
I have fixed it enough to work (copying those files from another mac), but who knows what else lurks beneath the surface of apparent serenity!
I am actually surprised that the whole system did not stop functioning completely.
MORALE: if something looks strange in the logs with x11 or other apps, check the file sizes in your /usr/bin, you may be surprised too!
