2nd. gen Apple TV not connecting to wi-fi network
Our 2nd. gen Apple TV has been working fine for years but suddenly (I suspect since the upgrade to software v. 6) it has trouble connecting to our wi-fi network, Whenever I turn it on, it says that "Apple TV can't connect to the network," even though when I look at the network settings, it shows the network and full signal strength. All of our other wireless devices work just fine with the network. Restarting it doesn't solve the problem, nor does uplugging it, or resetting it. The only thing that works is to reset the router (we use Time Capsule). Once we do that, everything works fine again. But then the next time we use it, it displays the same message when I turn it on and I have to go through the same steps all over. I don't really want to have to reset the router every time I want to use Apple TV.
I am running 6.0.1 on Apple TV and have the latest update on Time Capsule. Any ideas on what the problem might be and how I might fix it?
My problem solved itself. I think the problem was a conflict between my Apple TV and a printer on my network. For a completely unrelated reason, I had to remove the printer off the network. Once it was gone, Apple TV has been working fine. So, you may want to try removing other things from your network and see if that solves the problem. It was just a fluke that I figured it out.

2nd gen apple tv not streaming after last software update
I have 2 2nd gen apple tvs. I updated the software to 5.0 on one but not the other. The updated apple tv is having streaming issues with my purchased content. Netflix will stream but not my purchased tv shows or movies. Anyone else having this issue? I tried a reset but that didn't work. And my other apple tv which i didnt update is working fine. Thank you for taking the time to respond and no chance I thought that was rude. Unfortunately I had already reset and rebooted prior to posting. Also I have another 2nd gen apple tv and I stream netflix all the time as well as amazon prime and am not having issues so it's not my connection. The only difference between my two apple tvs is that I upgraded the software on one (which now isn't working right) and not the other which is still functioning well! So I am curious if anyone else has experienced this and has a solution.

2nd gen apple tv not seeing entire iphoto library
Here's something weird - anyone know why I can't see my entire iPhoto library on my 2nd gen. Apple TV?
I have my entire library shared in iPhoto
I have home sharing turned on in iTunes and am signed in using my Apple ID on the apple TV
I see my whole iTunes library and am able to stream movies etc to Apple TV
What's weird is only certain (two) events show up in the Photos section under "Computers" but when I select computers/photos it says "my iTunes." ALSO, when I go to iTunes/devices on my computer, I don't see my 2nd gen Apple TV listed - only my 1st gen Apple TV...
Any ideas out there, Apple Gurus???

Apple TV (2nd gen) suddenly will not let me get onto network.
I have tried resetting my Apple TV and router; I can usually see the network name when I go to connect, but it will not connect when I put in password. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I have Windstream internet service and recently made some changes with the internet service, so I am guessing a configuration is off somehow. Apple TV will let me to go Troubleshooting but only tells me things to check; will not let me into the IP Address settings etc. I am stumped.

2nd gen apple tv not synching with iTunes match
I've got the cloud on, and match on in the iTunes store, but I'm not getting most of my library in Apple TV.
I have tried turning them off, restarting, and turning them back on (and restarting) several times. still nothing.
What can I do to "kick" the match into synchronizing?
The equipment is an Apple TV and a MacBook Pro that were purchased one week ago.If you are a new subscriber, make sure Match is turned on within iTunes on MBP and that it has finished the initial scan.
Try logging out of your iTunes account and back in on Apple TV -
Itouch 8g 2nd gen. OS4 not connecting to WIFI-NO WIFI
My Itouch suddenly stopped connecting to the internet. My apps wouldn't work at all. Where the Wifi bars used to display there is now only IPOD displayed. After upgrading my Itouch to OS4 it still only says "ipod" and won't recognize or allow me to connect to any networks I used to be connected to.
Try powering off and then backon the router.
Does the router work for other wifi device?

No, if you have that picture it means the update went wrong and you need to restore via iTunes.

Is anyone else having trouble viewing the SEC network via Watch ESPN on a 2nd gen Apple TV? Software is up to date, but SEC network not showing up as a channel. Using Xfinity - and it appears on iPhone5 but not on iPad2 - both of which are current on IOS. Help!
the wifi router could also be blocking
and to really test if the windows firewall is the problem then try turning it off!
if that scare you too much then disable the internet modem / cable modem or the likes while you test
always remove more and more factors when troubleshooting sooner or later it will work and you can narrow down which factor did the job and work on that -
Use 2nd gen apple tv and remote control app on iphones and ipad. We can control some functions on the apple tv but unable to purchase, access such controls as reset, restart, turn off home sharing, etc. Home sharing stuck on old apple ID. Please help.
That is why I said to restore via iTunes, did you check the link?
This will put it back to factory settings and you can set it up with the new ID once you reconnect with your HDTV. This is not done via ethernet, as per the link you need to connect to the computer via micro usb. You cannot bypass home sharing.
FYI: An Apple ID cannot be deleted so the old one would still exist (even if you no longer use the email account it is associated with). -

Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again
You can also try a different charger,cable and outlet and see if they are hte issue.
Are you trying to charge via USB or plugged into the wall? If via USB, try charging with the included power block plugged into the wall -

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro and what I think is the 2nd Gen Apple TV( its the black one that does 720 not 1080p). I have recently installed Mavericks on my MBP, but I do not see the morrior option or any airplay option at all.
Is this a limitation on my MBP due to age, is it the Apple TV, or am I just missing something do stupidly obvious I will be embarassed?
