  • Ipod Shuffle 2nd generation OneClick Problems

    Hi
I have an ipod shuffle (2nd generation) and have downloaded the OneClickDigital media manager from the App store.
This has allowed me to check out audiobooks from my library... and they download to this program and I can play them there....that much is working.
The problem is that when I "download/transfer" the audiobook I get an error message that I can't seem to resolve. It says "iPod music is not manually managed....Please check the "Manually manage music and videos" option for your device in iTunes....IMPORTANT: All existing content on the device could be deleted by iTunes by checking this option".
Now here's the problem. There seems to be no "summary" tab for the ipod shuffle (2nd generation). The response I got from OneClickdigital says "Unfortunately, we are not aware of another way to manually sync music for specific devices other than the Summary tab Options settings.  We do recommend that you contact Apple support directly in regards to questions specific to your device."
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Tracy

I have the same problem with my ipod.
It doesn't flash any lights and ive tried all of these ways too.
Ive had it for less than a year and I won my ipod so I dont really know if i can go to the apple store and they'll fix it for me.
**Also would they do it or would I have to pay, and have the box, and papers?**
Because I don't have the cover box, but i have the clear plastic box w/ the white plastic holding that but not the cover box(i dont even remeber if there was a box over the white palstic thing). And i dont have a receipt because i won it, but i have all the other papers that were in the clear box itself even the stickers and everything.

  • Airport express identification and 1st and 2nd generation  connectivity

    Hi
I have three questions regarding airport express
    1. How do i know what model airport express i have? i'm not sure if i bought before or after 2008 if it operates with 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g/Draft N
    2. Second question is if I have the 802.11a/b/g/Draft N 1st generation can i connect it to a 2nd generation airport express to extent the range of my wifi?
    3. If yes, should i connect 2nd generation to router and then use 1st generation to extend the range? or vice versa
Thank you in advance for your help

How do i know what model airport express i have? i'm not sure if i bought before or after 2008 if it operates with 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g/Draft N
Get out those reading glasses or a magnifying glass and locate the model number on the side of the AirPort Express. It starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.
A1084 or A1088 are older "b/g" versions of the AirPort Express.....not really compatible with much of anything anymore, since they do not have a setting or capability to "extend a wireless network".
A1264 is the 1st Gen 802.11n version.....which will work with the new Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks operating systems.
Second question is if I have the 802.11a/b/g/Draft N 1st generation can i connect it to a 2nd generation airport express to extent the range of my wifi?
Yes, but since the 1st Gen Express is not dual band, it will only be able to extend one band from the newer 2nd Gen Express.....probably the 2.4 GHz band since that is the stronger signal. If you want or need to extend dual bands, then you will need two 2nd Gen Express devices.
If yes, should i connect 2nd generation to router and then use 1st generation to extend the range? or vice versa
2nd Gen would be connected to the router and the 1st Gen would extend.
That way, you will at least get dual bands from the 2nd Gen.  If you reverse the process.....remember that the 1st Gen is single band....the 2nd Gen will only extend one band....and you will lose some of the performance capability of the device.

  • IPod touch 2nd generation memory problem?

I bought a used iPod touch 2nd generation from Gamestop. The back of the ipod says it's 8GB. But when I connect it to iTunes, it says 6.5GB. I tried restoring it and everything. Is that normal?

100% normal!! The iOS takes up part of that memory so it is normal to be 6.5GB.

  • IPod Shuffle 2nd generation syncing problem with iTunes 7.3

When I updated my iTunes to iTunes 7.3, I had problem syncing my songs with my iPod shuffle 2nd generation. The error read something like "Ipod shuffle attempt to copy to disk "iPod's name" failed. An error occurred (-54)". I reverted back to iTunes 7.2 and the problem does not seem to arise anymore.

Well seems to me the only way to solve my problem was
to revert back to iTunes 7.2. I tried iPod reset
utility. restoring to default, resetting, everything
I could think of when I used iTunes 7.3 but none of
them succeeded. When I reverted to iTunes 7.2, it
worked like a charm again. Of course we would all
like the latest version of iTunes on our computers
but this problem has made me stay with iTunes 7.2 for
the moment. And does anyone feel that iTunes 7.3 is
    so laggy?
Regardless of earlier comments on 7.2 vs 7.3, I think you've got something else going on with your system, iTunes 7.3 isn't laggy on my meager 2001 Dual-USB iBook G3 500MHz with 640MB running 10.3.9.

  • Ipod Nano & 2nd Generation Nano Problems

I bought an Ipod Nano last December and my brother recently purchased the 2nd generation nano.
With my nano, an ITunes CD came with it. I installed it and things worked great. However, my brother did not receive an Itunes CD, the instructions directed him to apple.com to download the latest version of Itunes.
We downloaded the latest version and every song that I had on my ipod (about 427 songs) showed up. About 5 of those songs showed up on his. (We connected his ipod through the USB cable that I got with mine).
Out of the 427 songs I have on my ipod, he wants about 25 and then the ability to add more songs that he wants onto his.
The question is how can we do this? When his ipod is connected all the songs are showing up on the itunes screen (and the 4 or 5 are showing up on his ipod screen). NOrmally in the version of Itunes that I used, once I made any adjustments to my itunes I could go to file and then "Update Ipod" and the changes would occur in a matter or seconds. In this case he has options like "Sync..." or "Transfer purchased..."
I don't want to lose all of the songs that I have due to this, so could anyone help us out?
    Thanks in advance!

Do these songs play ok in iTunes?
Have you restored the iPod and reloaded the songs?
You should also try deleting them from iTunes altogether and re-importing them, then transfer to the iPod again.

  • Apple TV 2nd generation streaming problem

I stream a video from my iphone 5 or Apple Mac to my 2nd generation Apple TV and very often it simply stops in the middle of the broadcas. I then have to restart the Apple TV then it starrs again. A few minutes later same thing happen. My software is up to date on all my devices. Tried everything to fix it but nothing works.
Any solution you can suggest as this is most frustrating?
    thanks.

That would indicate an issue with the local network
    If on wifi try ethernet
Go to istumbler, netstumbler or similar to get a report of the network. Look for signal strength and noise

  • My ipod touch (2nd generation) connects to my wifi but does not give me internet

I have an Ipod touch (2nd gen).  I did a factory restore yesterday and not I can't connect to the internet.  I am connected to my wifi.  I see the wifi symbol on my ipod touch. However, when I try to go on safari or other apps that use internet such as weather, it says: Safari cannot open the page because it is not connectged to the internet.  I know my wifi is working because I am using it to send this message.  I have tried restarting my ipod and as well as forgeting the network and reconnecting to the network, but I still get the same problem.
    Thank you for your help

    - Do other devices successfully connect tot he network?
Does the iPod successfully connect to other networks?
    Try:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router

  • IPod touch 4th generation connection problems

My iPod touch indicates that it is connected to wifi (a connection that I frequently used in the past, and use for all my other deivces), and I even full wifi strength (three 'bars'), but I cannot use various apps that connect to the Internet or connect to iTunes (not sure if related).
Some apps do open and I can access the online parts (ex. Instagram, Mail), but the apps I mainly use (i.e. Twitter, iMessage, Safari, App Store) have no such luck and I cannot load anything on only these specific apps.
I have tried resetting the network settings, turning it on and off many times, and attempting to wait out the loading icons, but all of these are to no avail.
Like I stated earlier, everything was working fine yesterday but after I turned my iPod on today all these problems had occurred.
To sum up my 'question', everything seems fine and dandy except when you open some specific apps or try to connect to most online-only apps, can someone tell me what may have caused this or help find a solution?

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • IPod fifth Generation connection problem

    Hi
My teacher has a fifth gen ipod and she got the brand new itunes update on her PC and now when she plugs it into her ipods dock, windows does not see the ipod at all, but the ipod says "Do Not Disconnect" Please Help!

I have the same problem. Have tried _all_ of the suggestions including 4 of the "R"s - the Restore option is not possible, two different USB cables, 3 different computers (2 with latest iTunes update, 1 with previous). Still the same result - nothing! The ipod works fine apart from the connection issue. When attached to the computer "Do no disconnect" is displayed, but the ipod does not appear anywhere on the computer and iTunes does not start - even when I double click the icon.

  • Ipod 4th Generation connection problem

Ok i um i just got the ipod chromatic (4th gen) for christmas, i was really excited, well after maybe a month of having the ipod and addind and removing songs from it..the ipod just doesnt connect to the computer. When i plug in my ipod to my pc i hear the start up beep but itunes doesnt show that its connected and on the ipod screen it doesnt say connected. Now the usb chord works fine because i have a wallcharger and that chord works fine on the charger. So can anyone tell me wat is the problem????

I don't use mine with Windows, but try using another USB port (directly off the computer instead of a hub, if possible).
If that doesn't work, start the "5R" process:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/nano4gen/
And, if you have another computer available, try connecting it to that, just to verify it's an iPod issue and not a Windows or computer problem. You don't have to sync to it, but just see if Windows / iTunes recognizes that it is connected.
    Hope this helps...

  • IPod Touch 2nd Generation iOS4 Problems

Okay, I have an iPod touch 2G 16GB, since upgrading to iOS4 my ipod's suffered numerous crashes, it started off whilst playing games but has now decided to do it when listening to music also.
Basically what happens is the screen will flash white and then the display disappears turning the device off. Then when I try to turn it back on it won't work, not even hard resets work. I have to wait hours before tryin another 4 or 5 times before it gets going again.
The device hasn't been jail broken, I've restored it and reinstated everything but I'm at a loss here.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Dann

I am having similar problems, except it doesn't take hours it just returns me to my home screen. Also many apps won't even begin to play. I have updated some of my games and things with versions they claim are iOS4 compatible but they still have issues from time to time. It's very obviously a iOS4 problem or just a problem with every app available at the moment. Either way I think we can say this is a huge FAIL on apple's part to bring this out either to early or at all. I was planning on getting a new Iphone 4 but after these problems I can see why a lot of people are starting to buy Droid and I will be looking into buying one of those too.

  • IOS 4: 2nd Generation Photo Problems

Aside from the ridiculous lack of wallpaper, I have noticed another problem with iOS 4 on the 2g iPod Touch. All of my photos have had the quality drastically reduced. Even without zooming in, every picture appears grainy and pixelated. So now, in addition to not having custom wallpaper, I can't even have a custom lock screen background, because all of my pictures look like garbage. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? How can I fix it?

    Hello Gcow55,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Several users who upgraded to 4.0 were able to resolve the issue by removing and resyncing all of their photos from their iPod touch. About the only suggestion I have though.

my ipod 2nd gen. kept resetting itself. Like everything is erase and I put everything back. Then later on in the day, the ipod 2nd gen. just restart by itself again. This happen more than twice, like all the time! Can someone tell me what is going?

Is this literally a 2G iPod and not a 2G Nano or anything like that?  Have you restored it to factory settings yet in iTunes?
