2nd Graphic card displays white only if used for Video Preview in FCP

I just bought a Vavida 8800 graphics card, so that I could connect 3 monitors total. I have my main two monitors on my table connected to the Navida, and a flatscreen TV behind me in the living room connected to the original Redeaon graphics card. All 3 monitors display fine, but when I try to set the Video Preview in FCP, either on RAW or Full Screen, all I get is a white Image. This worked fine with only 2 monitors.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Christian

Does anyone know if Apple is working on the second graphic card issue in FCP?
I installed an ATI 3870 on top of the 2600 that came with my MacPro, assuming that it will work.
But I'm having all kinds of problems in FCP, random freezes, long waits for rendering and exporting, etc.
I have two Dell 24 inches monitors and a smaller 19 inches Acer, and I would love to have some extra real estate to leave the timeline in one Dell, the preview in another, and the canvas and viewer on the Acer.
I read I can get the Blackmagic Intensity to output HDMI/DVI (via an adapter, I guess, since the Blackmagic has no DVI output and my monitors have no HDMI), so my question is: if I get the Blackmagic can I use it's output for other programs (Photoshop, ProTools, and so on)? or it will only appear as a valid output in FCP? In other words, does the Blackmagic works as a graphic card when FCP is not active?
Sorry for the silly question, but I already bought a card that is actually useless for me, and I don't want to spend $250 in another.
Thanks

You aren't addressing Apple here. This is a user-to-user tech support site.  Apple doesn't participate here. We are all iPhone users like yourself
There is nothing whatsoever misleading about how FactTime is described by Apple.  It works EXACTY as stated. If you are mislead, it's due to your inadequate reading comprehension or lack of effort reading what Apple actually said.
There is no "international" standard for cell phone video calling.  Most other phones use proprietary systems or 3rd party apps such as Skype (which also works on iPhones).  FaceTime is on WiFi internet connections only because all carriers have refused to allow it on their cell networks due to the huge number of iPhones.  The FaceTime standard is open source and other manufacturers are free to implement it, but have refused so far.

  • Can't find recent driver for graphic card (display) cyberaladdin trident

I can't find recent driver for graphic card (display) cyberaladdin trident.
The game play with game Warcraft III.
    I downloaded directX 9
I managed to install the game but I can't play it.
My display card is Trident Cyberaladdin-T. The game producer told me it is compatible. I tried to find drivers but I haven't find anything efficient. On toshiba site there a driver but quite old (previous to the date I bought the computer...)
I don(t knox what to do and my son is very disappointed because he can't play with this new game.
    Thanks for your quick answer.

    Hi,
At first it would be interesting to know for which Operating System your need this driver ? ;)
Well this Chipset Trident CyberALADDiN-T ( called Napa2T ) was build in three Notebook Types of Toshiba.
The Satellite 6000, TE2000 and the Satellite 6050. ( Driverversion all with Version 5.01.2527.0128 )
Normally the drivers you find on the manufacturer Pages are not the actual drivers. They only update the drivers if there are known problems.
So the only chance for you is to look threw the internet and look if someone else has used this graphic chip, and delivers are newer driver than Toshiba.
Sorry for the answer, but I had same problem with my Machine, but found a newer driver revision on another manufacturer page.
    bye

  • !!! Problem with 2nd graphic card !!!

Hi I have a big problem with my laptop.
I have an HP TouchSmart tm2-2000el Notebook, with Windows 7 64-bit.
2nd Graphic card is ATI RADEON HD Series 5450.
When I activate this hardware from Control Panel desktop goes black but every function are ok (sounds, illumination and all cmds).
So I must restart my computer in Safe Mode disactivate ATI Radeon HD 5450 and restart it.
Laptop run but only with Intel graphic card.
I tried to search update drivers on Amd/ATI site: amd online software reveals Ati radeon HD 5000 Series but after download Ati software tell me that is impossible to install drivers because there isn't an ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series.
So I have low graphics and CPU with 69°C because intel graphic card runs over...
I haven't found any driver for my model of laptop on HP Assistance.
    Touchsmart spec
    How can I do now?
    Thanks
    Alberto

This is the right driver for switchable graphics...do not also install the Intel only driver, you do not need both.

  • Installed 2nd graphics card in HP Pavillion Windows 8.1, but displays remain blank (no signal).

    Model #: 500-314
    Product #: F3E92AA#ABA
I just upgraded to a new HP, and need to run 4 displays.  I purchased a 2nd video card (Radeon R7 240), installed it, overcame the secure boot issue, but the additional 2 displays are blank.
When I check for the graphic cards, it only shows the AMD Radeon R7 Graphics card.
Also, the R7 240 CD with the drivers, does not open. when I click on it.   It just shows the little blue circle like its working on opening the program, but it does not open the program.   So I went to the Radeon website and downloaded the drivers for the R7 240.  It installed Catalyst, but still nothing.
What can I do to make this work?
    Thank you

    Hi:
When you install an add on graphics card, the onboard video is automatically disabled and cannot be enabled.
That info has been left off of the product specs page.
You can check to see if there is a BIOS setting to enable the onboard video but I doubt there is one.
I can't help you with why you are having issues with the add on card.
All I can say is that if you did not first uninstall the graphics drivers from the onboard graphics before you installed the new card, that is probably the problem.

  • Qosmio G - Graphic card displays wrong screen

My laptop froze to a blank screen. When rebooted it first displayed a black background with a light concentration of blue and white shaded blocks in strips vetically down the screen - like a tetris game.
As it went through the loading of Windows in the background, the display turned to a green-yellow lines on black bakground verticlly down the screen - like the Matrix screen from the movie of the same name. The next display was black and white barcode blocks also vertically. It started a repair-recovery action which eventually failed and would not go any further. I went on in safe mode with the same displays happening. I disabled the NVidia GeForce GO 7600 graphics card to set it to the standard VGA.
I can now log all the way onto and use it in the normall manner but visually it is the same as described above through the boot porcess, but adding blue rain like verticle lines down the screen - like Vista is behind the window of wet coloured glass. White pages such as a Notepad windoe has pink verticl lines down it but the text is readable but everso light in shading.
Everything seems to work fine, browser, web surfing, email, but the display is shot. I connected external monitor but got same. I tried to check BIOS but is all displayed in coloured tetris squares making it hard to see what to do. I upgraded the BIOS from v3.40 to v3.90 successfully but no change to display. I ran diagnostics and Graphics card failed.
I guess the graphics card is a goner and I need a new motherboard aye !

    I know this problem.
If you power on by the button TV-Tuner, you have a problem?

When you lisen a sound, press FN+F5, then press ESC>F1 to enter setup (in my notebook)
Press PageUp PageDown to select pages with settings, in 1 from 3 page you see LCD settigs (or "display settings" or somthing else, im forget), change settings from AUTO-SELECT to LCD+VGA, save+exit

  • Deactivation of 2nd graphic card

I´m using 2 different graphic cards in my MacPro. The 2nd card is used in Windows only, but the fans are running at full speed under OS X.
Is there a way to deactivate the card in Tiger?
    Thanks

You could take the windows card out, but otherwise hatter is right you cant get the fan to shut off, that is part of why I went up to 4870.

  • Imac 17 inch c2d (64bit graphics card) display vs. mpb 15 c2d display?

hello, was wondering how my 17 inch imac c2d's display compares to the quality of the 15 inch mpb c2d? (ive heard all of the uneven illumination, ect ect) but can it really be worse than what the imac 17 inch displays offer? i just want to use a mpb for very very minimal editing and watching dvds

I would not waste money on that 16GB. it is just a cache and complicates the boot process. Especially if you will want multiple OS's in partitions.
eSATA is and external SATAIII port that the existing HD's are attached to. Its an external extension of the controller. This give external drives access and transfer rate as fast as being in the system. No other drivers are involved when connecting an external enclosure via eSATA therefore it is rock solid implementation for storage. That cannot be said for USB 3.0 however. The support is built into the chipset and just needs to be connect to an external plug (too much for Lenovo to utilize) and done. HDMI connection will likely require an external dongle via the display port. I don't like that implementation and did not pickup on it missing looking online. NOTE that they are likely still using a 4 pin 3.5mm jack for audio out/in, so you cannot have both at the same time. The Mic in is Mono (only 1 pin for it hence stereo is impossible). If your working with audio in any advanced way these systems are not for you. Speaker sound quality is poor at best.

  • Which graphics card will my MBP be using in bootcamp?

Hey guys I'm considering installing bootcamp on my MBP. It has Intel HD4000 and Nvidia gt 650m. I was wondering which graphics card it would be using in bootcamp. THanks

Windows will only use your dedicated graphic card, in this case, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, because the integrated graphic card can't be used (there are problems with the GPU switch in Windows).
After installing Windows, install the most recent driver for your GPU from the NVIDIA site > http://www.nvidia.com

  • Firefox refuses to use the graphics card I tell it to use

I have integrated graphics and an nvidia graphics card. No matter what I do, no matter what I set in the nvidia control panel, it continues to insist on using the integrated graphics. I have set firefox to use the nvidia card in the control panel, I have right clicked firefox and chosen the nvidia card SPECIFICALLY, but when I go to about:support it STILL says it's using the integrated graphics, this is extremely frustrating. I even went into the BIOS to try and disable the integrated graphics, but low and behold, the graphics cards aren't even there to disable/enable. I need a fix soon please.

Well, I am very satisfied with my linksys usb adaptors on my PC, and all other PCs I have tried them on. Besides, I'm not asking if they work well or not, I'm merely asking do they work at all. Your idea of well and mine may be different. I'm just interested in the facts.
Once again, even if I understand what you meant by a "standard" airport card (you mean there's more than one?), I think I was pretty adament that I did not want an airport card. I just don't. The price coupled with Apple's strong sell made that one product I'll only buy if I absolutely have to, and I'll explore every other option first. Furthermore, I asked about third party adaptors.
I have a crossover cable, so that'll probably do it. I wasn't sure if the mac would be able to work the same way. Is it just as easy to set up? Am I better off connect them to another router?
Anyhow, I do appreciate the response, so thanks.

  • Graphic card prob on PM8M3-V using Win XP SP2

Hi guys, i having a problem wif my GC using win XP SP2 on MSI PM8M3-V. I'm using Geforce 2 MX 400 AGP 4X, 512 DDR 400 and 40 GB WD ide hardisk. Last time when i'm using win XP SP1, it work jus fine but only when the correct driver version install. When i check the graphic card information on the nvidia driver, it shows the bus as PCI instead of AGP 4X. This one cause no prob to my PC but when i using the newer driver version, it shows AGP 4X but this one makes my PC hang a while and blue screen of death come out and then my PC restart when i trying to access to video file. Same prob happen to Win SP2 even when i use the correct driver version. The built-in VGA works juz fine but it sucks in games. Can someone help me wifth this prob? Thanks

    Hello!
I don't completely understand, but you can relax a bit. DeviceManager calls the graphics card PCI even if it is AGP. Used to worry me too, I can tell you.
Hope the on-board card is disabled in BIOS.
Can you tell us please what processor and what Power Supply Unit you have got?

  • How to disable 2nd graphic card?

I have a laptop Sony VGN-Z21XN/B with two graphic cards:
    1) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)
    2) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G98 [GeForce 9300M GS] (rev a1)
Unfortunately both are running at the same time so my laptop is hot, noisy and the battery is discharged very soon. Is there any possibility how to permanently disable nVidia graphic card somewhere in system? I already tried disable nVidia modules in rc.conf, but without result and google doesn't help
    Thank for advice.

I've just checked my bios settings and there is no option to set or disable graphic card. Bios is actually very poor.
The problem is that sony provides only windows (vista and 7, not XP) software switch so there is no HW support for switching... I am looking for something like disable hardware in windows device manager. Simply tell arch: don't use that stupid piece of crap...
However I'll have a look to site that you posted
