2nd hand iphone being stolen in the transition
Hi there,
I recently purchased an iphone from ebay and ship it from US to Hong Kong through the ebay international shipping programme.
However, when i received the package, there is no phone inside the iphone box.
Me and the seller suspect that the iphone was stolen during the postage transition.
All i got now is the iphone box with all the codes and serial no. of the phone.
Could anyone suggest what can i do to locate the iphone now? or how could i contact apple staff for help?

Apple can't do anything in that case. Here's what you can do besides contacting ebay about that:
If you have lost or found an Apple product, please contact your local law enforcement agency to report it.
You can take steps to find your lost or stolen iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac if you've enabled Find My Mac and Find My iPhone apps. Using your Find My apps allows you to put your missing device in Lost Mode, see its location, or erase its data. Other than the Find My iPhone and Find My Mac apps, there is no other Apple service that finds, tracks, or otherwise flags your device for you.

2nd Hand Iphone reverted to being activated by original owner
I purchased a 2nd hand iPhone 4 three years ago, it was unlocked and wiped etc. I activated it with my apple ID and used it without problem for for 3 years. I kept it updated with current OS. I resold the phone a week ago, so wiped it and sent it off to the new owner.
I then was contacted by them to say that they could not activate it because I had the device connected to my iCloud account. I checked my iCloud account and there are no devices listed there. Turns out it is not my account that the phone is trying to connect to but what I assume is the original owner fromm3 years ago!
What can I do? I don't have contact details for the original owner from 3 years ago. I son't understand why the phone has revented to thia old activation account when I have been using it fine.
Please help.

Fact: Activation Lock requires that Find My Phone be turned on, & the phone cannot be erased or restored without first turning off Find My Phone. Turning off Find My Phone requires the Apple ID/Password that was first used to turn it on.
You state you purchased this phone 3 years ago & activated it with YOUR Apple ID. You also state that you erased this phone BEFORE selling it. Well, Activation Lock cannot be your issue if these two things are true & correct. -

I bought my 2nd hand iPhone 4s at last years , yersterday 3/12/2013 i upgrade my phone 7.0.1 ver to 7.0.4 ver . When i finish the upgrade , my iPhone change to before 1st user Apple ID . I have find & seen apple support and i cant find back 1st user ! How i can do now ? And my iPhone got my project need use my work !
Please any iPhone user or teachnician help me !you can try restoring.. but if that doesn't work then it would be useless. The original owner would have to remove the device from their icloud account by going to icloud.com

Registering a 2nd hand iPhone.
Hi I bought a 2nd hand iPhone for my daughter but I'm struggling to register it in any of our names. I have tried to add the serial number of the phone onto my list of apple products but it keeps saying the serial number is registered to another Apple ID. Can anyone give me any advice on how to register this phone in mine or my daughters name please?
I am trying to do this ASAP as I am aware now that a lot of people are selling there phones, claiming insurance & the phones are getting blocked.

I bought a 2nd hand iPhone 3gs from eBay, which was supposedly in fully working condition. 2 probs -
Firstly - When calling someone, they can only be heard when you turn the speaker on.
Secondly - the phone was working ok, but when I reset it, to restore factory settings and update the latest iOS, the phone is no unable to reactivate. Return the iPhone for a refund or start the process with eBay. Buy
one locally so you will have a warranty and avoid problems with service. -

Have just bought a 2nd hand iphone 3g, which was unlocked. Have put in my old PAYG sim card (tesco) and managed to get contacts into iphone. Can make calls and texts as before. I already have an apple id and itunes 10 as I have a touch as well.
Can you tell me how I can register my iphone so that I can sync it with my pc to get music etc across?

KatherineThis iPhone was hacked to be unlocked, or it was officially unlocked by the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked with when new?
If hacked to be unlocked, that could be the cause of the problem along with opening the iPhone up to major security problems.
Try restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone. If the iPhone was officially unlocked, this shouldn't be a problem which may resolve this problem and if not determine if there is a potential hardware problem with the iPhone. -

You can enable Lost Mode for the lost/stolen iPhone to access a array of features. If the iPhone is locatable when it is connected to the internet, then a location will appear on icloud.com/#find. For more information, visit here or contact Apple. -

If it was stolen the thief will wipe it with the result that you will not be able to track it.
Contact your carrier. They may be able to block further use of the phone. No good to you but then no good to the thief either. -
If my iPhone is stolen and the thief shut the phone down, I wouldn't be able to locate it anymore.
Is it possible to disable the possibility to shut down the phone when a passcode lock is set up?

Apple should think about this, if not already in the new IOS 7No.
The battery will run out sooner or later anyway, even if you could prevent shutdown.
iOS 7 includes a feature that prevents anyone wiping and then re-setting up the phone without your AppleID and password.
