2nd monitor has yellow cast it never had before

I've been using a Dell 2405FPW monitor as my main screen for years, and the brightness and color was always great. Now that I have a new 24" iMac, I'm using the Dell monitor as a second screen, and it has a terrible yellow cast. I can't get rid of it with the monitor's controls, or with the Calibration tool in the Displays control panel. I'm using a Mini DVI-to-DVI adapter between the iMac and the Dell monitor. What's causing this?

Nope, everything is brand new and looks fine. In fact, I now have the exact same setup (24" iMac and 24" Dell 2405 LCD) at home, and I'm seeing the exact same problem there, too. The Dell monitor is bright on its own, but has a dull yellow cast when connected to the iMac with the Mini-DVI to DVI connector.

I am having serious issues trying to open websites/pages or links which i have never had before. For instance when i open Firefox and my tabs start to load, sites such as Yahoo, Gamespot or Fox News struggle to open (these are just an example of a wider picture) Other times Firefox just freezes either for Minutes on end or completely until it either crashes or i have to task manage out of it. Firefox has total privelages through both my antivirus software and the in built Microsoft firewall. I never used to have this problem and speaking to some friends some of them are experienceing the same thing and due to the lack of help from Firefox have reverted to using Explorer. I do not recieve any error messages or messages stating there are problems with any of the sites that struggle or fail to open. I have tried disabling all add-ons and starting Firefox in save mode but no luck. I have also tried to change the settings in Options / Privacy - History from Remeber History to Use custom settings for history but this just keeps reverting back to original setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i don't want to return to using Windows Explorer.

FF4 has problems with script-heavy sites. There are two solutions:
1) Downgrade to 3.6
OR
2) Use a different broser

The pixels show up outside the contours of the brushes.

Today the problem showed up again, and I know what causes it now!
After importing a large .psd-file in my poster .psd-file, some other layers in the file turned quite black and with countable pixels.
After "undo place image" and closing the file (without saving), it looked like there were parts of layers missing when I opened it again.
Afterwards I opened my Photoshop again and noticed that in the VIEW menu, I could click "monitor RGB", this solved the whole thing.

I had iOS4.3 before i restored it now i have got ios 4.2.1 which i never had before? how do i get it back to my normal one? 4.

I decided to restore my iPod touch 3G as i thought it might refresh it to get the iOS 5 as i really want it. Before i restored it i had iOs 4.3 which i have always had on my iPod. After restoring my iPod it went back to its factory conditions and i got iOS 4.2.1 which i have never had before? how can i get it back to my normal one or how can i get iOS 5 as on the apple website nothing is telling me to how to download it? can i please get some feed back so i know what to do.
Also the touchscreen isnt intime as quick as it used to be after I restored it, This is quite annoying whist im playing a game on my iPod. Thanks:)

Are you sure you really have a 3G iPod? A 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1. When you restore an iPOd wyou will get the latest iOS.
You need iTunes 10.5.X for iOS 5.
If your iPod is a 8 or 16 GB one it is a 2G iPod. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods. A 32 GB one can be either. To tell a 2G fom a 3G ypy need to know the model numbe engraved on the back see:

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

I would recommend a complete uninstall as outlined in the article below. Make sure to process the uninstall in the order specified.

Once uninstalled, download iTunes directly from here iTunes 11.0.4 or iTunes.com. Make sure to save the file to your desktop instead of selecting the run option. Locate the file on your desktop, right click and select run as administrator. This should allow the install.

Satellite Pro L300 - External monitor has yellow tinge to screen

I have connected a new external monitor to my Sat Pro L300 and the ext. monitor has a strong yellow tinge to the display.
I have tried it with other monitors and cables and they do the same ie yellow display.
Can anyone suggest anything I can do, I have tried changing all colour settings but they do not get rid of the yellow tint.

Well, possibly this issue is related to the hardware malfunction since the display should show common colors without changing any settings in Color Settings in the Graphics Card Control Panel
So in my opinion its hardware issue
However, before asking a technician for a opinion I recommend updating the BIOS and reinstalling the graphic card driver.

Windows 10 shows the 2nd monitor has 1920x1080 but actually it is 50% less around 1080x840

The resolution of the 2nd monitor, a Vizio VF551XVT 55-inch 1920x1080 HDTV connected through HDMI cable, shows 1920x1080 (Recommended) on the Windows 10’s Display Screen Resolution setting utility but the true resolution of the 2nd monitor is less than 50%; around 1080x840. All applications on the 2nd monitor displayed their header & boarder frames twice wider on screen, which waste/occupy lots of the 2nd monitor’s display area. Please advise how to correct this critical lower than the set/expected resolution problem of th 2nd monitor. Thanks. The 1st/primary monitor in this case is a mobile PC Display (1920x1080), Lenovo Z710 Intel i7 4710MQ notebook with NVIDIA 840M GPU. Previously running under the Windows 8.1 OS with the same configuration, the 2nd monitor resolution was also displayed incorrectly but just initially right after the Windows 8.1 reboot, i.e. 2nd monitor shows 1920x1080 resolution but actually the 2nd monitor is about the same as Windows 10, the actual resolution is much/50% fewer than 1920x1080. However, the resolution of the 2nd monitor (HDTV) under Windows 8.1 can be corrected (worked around) by switching the main display from 1st to 2nd monitor, then switching main display back from 2nd to 1st, but such Win 8.1 work around doesn't work for Windows 10 OS . Also, please advise whether Lenovo, MS Windows or NVIDIA is responsible for the displays re-position issue. The re-position issue is, when a TV, PC, shared 2nd monitor is disconnected to watching TV, etc., Windows OS currently moves all the display positions, both active and minimized displays, from 2nd monitor to 1st/main monitor, but ideally would be just moving/re-position the active displays to the main/1st monitor and maintain/leave those minimized display positions intact, so when 2nd monitor reconnects back (done watching TV), user doesn’t need to re-align all the displays back to 2nd monitor again. If you won't lose anything and if it is not a big hassle, I would re-install.
Mainly because Win 10 TP is, after all, a beta OS. Too many possibilities of bugs and glitches. It is better off to reinstall.
The latest build 9879 has a ISO download link. Use the ISO and burn it to a bootable DVd. Then use the DVD to do a clean reinstall.

2nd monitor has suddenly duplicated 1st one. What happened?

I don't know what happened. But my second monitor, which I have connected to my laptop, used to be seperate. I could drag things into it, and use it as a 2nd screen.
But all of the sudden they are both the same.
How do I change that?

2nd monitor has no reds

I have just installed 2 new monitors.
One is a Samsung hd tv. The other a Samsung Syncmaster 913n.
The tv works fine there are connectors for my mac, xbox, freeveiw box etc.
I have just got another dvi to vga cable for the 913n and all the colour has gone out of it.
I have used this before and it was fine.
It would appear that all the reds have gone.
Anyone have any Xmas ideas.

Hi, I recently came back from 3 months of not using my imac and found it to be exceedingly slow (a problem i have never had before (eg i cant get through playing a song on itunes without it pausing over 10 times for intervals of ~5 seconds.

Then I tried to connect my IPAD and IPHONE and neither would update because it couldnt find the file or something and then i couldnt even restore.
The next day itunes was gone completely: "The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (13014)"
dAnd then the next day ie today there is NO DOCK, NO BACKGROUND and NO DESKTOP ICONS! I had to open safari from the top bar that was only there because I have one random application called Garmin ANT that remained open (i never use this application, its a running computer watch thing)

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

H E L P! Updated my iPhone and now LOTS of new problems never had before!

Everything was working perfectly. Then I updated my iPhone and iTunes software (via the automatic update which notified me this week that a new version of one or the other was available so I said "yes" and figured everything would be ok as usual).
NUTHIN' but problems ever since and yes, I have rebooted my iPhone several times, quit and restarted my Mac, quit and restarted iTunes, turned off the iPhone and on again, et al. CONTINUE to have problems - I get message:
Cannot sync. Mac sayd - Device timed out (re my iPhone). iPhone says it's syncing but when I slide the slider, it just goes to the phone like it wasn't even syncing or anything.

Cannot get a call out via 611 for the usual AT&T support but CAN call regular phone numbers.

Had you paid attention to my posts, you would have read back there that I DID bring my computer to them and they went through it and determined it was NOT the computer/Mac. You must have stock in Apple to be so quick to come to their defense. Having myself worked for Apple, I know that Apple does its best to LOOK AT WHAT WAS DONE RIGHT AND NOT RIGHT and make improvements. And I worked on a committee that dealt with support issues. They want to know when a user feels they have not gotten what they paid for vs. your kind of defensive blather. Give it a rest, ok? I CLOSED MY CASE and Apple has already asked me to give them feedback about my experience - MY experience... not yours or colored by your opinion.

PS The amount of time required by me to go to Apple (3 visits now) out of a work day has now cost me more than the amount of money spent by Apple to replace this stuff which they say they don't know what is wrong with. And the cable you mention... they didn't swap it out. They did not replace the cable in the end - they gave me a used cheaper cable to use upon the first visit and the 2nd visit, instead of replacing the original cable, they swapped out the phone. And I have lost about 3 days on a schedule for work which I'm already behind on.
Last words - CASE CLOSED. NO FURTHER COMMENTARIES, et al needed, period.

Help! an icon i've never had before

Tried updating and restoring my 15 gig iPod with dock connector tonight. Now my computer won't even recognize it. Gone through the entire support manual, and everything I've tried doesn't work.
I do get this strange logo when I try the reset though: it's an image of the connector cable that goes into dock... Never seen it before, and the Apple site doesn't even show it...

No, but it turns out it was power-related. I think I've got everything sorted out.

Butons issue never had before

I have made literally thousands of DVD's on my G5 Dual 2.5 w/2GB DDR400 SDRAM. Yesterday, in my DVD Studio Pro 3.0.2 I started having an issue with my buttons not want to change from DVD to DVD.
For example, I am making a video of a baseball game. Each player on the team is getting a DVD of the Final game of the Season with thier "at bats" selected out and moved to the front of the DVD and a button attached to each for quick and direct access to each at bat. The complete edited game plays afterwards, along with the roster and stats for each player rolling as credits at the end of the program, so the only thing changing on each DVD is the peoples edited "at bats" at the beginning of each personalized video. I made DVD's for about 15 of the players, and on about the 16th one when I changed the two buttons from "Player #23 - 1st at bat" and "Player #23 - 2nd at bat" to "Player #45 - 1st at bat" and "Player #45 - 2nd at bat", the DVD Formatted and Burned with Player #23 still on the buttons instead of Player #45. This is very confusing to me because when I went back to check, I had made the changes, and when I check it through Simulation it is correct. Also, the actual video is correct, just not the buttons.
I also tried getting out of the program, and then getting back into it and it does the same thing. Then I tried shutting down the G5 last night and starting fresh this morning, and it does the same thing. I tried making the next persons DVD and everything turns out great except it still is Formatting and Burning Player #23 in the buttons. Then I went back and made a persons video that only had 1 "at bat" during the game and it came out just like it was supposed to. I went back to the 2 "at bat" people and it made the first DVD just like it was supposed to, but when I went to make the second persons DVD it is still formatting and burning the button information from the previous person.
Like I said, I am very cunfused over this because when I check everything through Simulation it is correct. Can anybody suggest anything for me?

What I ended up doing was rebuilding a second DVDSP3 file exactly like the first one but called it something new. It seems to be working fine now. Somewhere along the line the first one just dropped the button changes along the way. If this happens again, I will try your way. It will be much easier than what I did.
