2nd monitor keeps going black and back on. How to stop that?

Since installing MAVERICKS the 2nd monitor does not stay up all the time.
It will go black for a few seconds and then comes back. WHY?
How to stop this?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Okay so I'm browsing my apps or listening to music and all of a sudden *click* nothing screens black...odd. So I press the power button and it lights up and says "slide to unlock." Why does my Ipad keep going black and then back to the apple logo. It eventually goes to the start page but then blacks out again. I have already rebooted several times with no luck!!

Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

Screen keeps going black and I can't get it to light back up

I just purchased a "pinkberry" and am getting very frustrated with it. It keeps going black and no matter what buttons I push I cannot get it to light back up. I got it yesterday and charged it for about 12 hours so I know it's not that the battery is low.

seems like a hardware problem. Return the device to where you bought it and claim a new one.

Program monitor keeps going black in Premiere Pro CC

PC - Premiere Pro CC - AMD Fire Pro (13.101-130604a-158071E-ATI)
I'm working on a project and the program monitor keeps going black in Premiere Pro CC while I am working on the timeline. I've got like 28 GB of memory alocated to the program and just updated the latest driver for my video card. No clue why this keeps happening, but the only way I can get around it is to restart. When I go to close down the program freezes and I have to shut it down in the system preferences.

here's my story. I'm also having this problem with video appearing in the Program monitor. The only thing I did differently is that yesterday when I was editing, I pulled the Program monitor out of the main Premiere interface and dragged it over to my second desktop monitor. that worked just dandy.
when I opened Premiere today, and opened an entierly different project, there was no video in the output window (and it was locked back into the main interface). I also can't select clips on the TL. The software locks up, and I have to restart.
I am able to create a new project and render the countdown leader. I was also able to import the project that wasn't displaying correctly, and have it work just like normal. So I think I'm back in business for now.
I'm deeply concerned though. I'm doing a webinar about Premiere very soon (with rehearsals tomorrow!). A failure like this looks bad for everybody. Also, I don't relish having to re-import all of my old projects in this way to get the basics working again. Any idea what went wrong? Right now I feel like I'd better never drag the program window to a second monitor to enjoy a larger program monitor while editing.

my iphone 3gs keeps going black and to a "thinking" icon and will do this for a long time and won't stop till I do a forced shut down. It's all sporatic as to when it does this. Plus it's adding pictures to contacts that don't normally have pictures and taking them away from ones who do have them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have iOS 5.1.1 on it still b/c my iTunes won't download the newest verision of the iOS (yes I have the most recent iTunes on my laptop, yes I've tried multiple different times to download too) but I've heard others say not to put the newest iOS on the 3gs b/c it locks them up.

Try a reset:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.

Just reset your phone:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
This should let you use the phone normally, no restore needed.

65nh84 Picture Goes Black and Back to Normal

I am having two problems with my set. When I turn it on the picture has vertical lines through it and faded color until it warms up for a minute. Then after a few minutes the picture will go black flip to a black center with white bands on the side and back to all black. It does this a few times and then back to a normal picture. A couple minutes later, if that long, and repeats. The set is doing this on all channels and when using my DVD player, with cable and antenna. I have read that the scan converter is the cause of the vertical lines however it is no longer available. Is this the most likely cause of my problem. If I can not get the parts where can I get the schematic to replace the discreet components myself. I doubt its worth the cost of sending it out for repair. I have repaired many CRT TVs in the past as I am a degreed electronics eng. Please point me in the right direction.

1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two and tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo

Z1 - Keep going black and unresponsive

Just bought new Xperia Z1 and phone has gone black and becomes unresponsive on several occassions. I have used the power and volume up button; however, this appears to be working less every time it happens.
Looks like this is a normal problem from this forum - anyone know what the problem/issue is and how it should be fixed? Is this a software issue or known problem with Z1 phone? I'm concerned as I just bought it less than a week ago and it's caused nothing but problems since.

MacBook screen keeps going black and won't reboot

I have a 15" MacBook Pro, Early 2011 running 10.9.2. This rather alarming problem started recently, about two weeks ago:
At random, my screen will "glitch out" and go black. This usually happens when performing some innocuous action like moving a window or opening a random app.
When in this state, the MacBook will not wake up so I have to do a hard reboot. Then the system will not make it back to the Finder. It will get to a solid gray screen, I can hear the fan ramp up and then it will shut itself down again.
The only way to reboot is to go into single user mode (command-S) and then run "/sbin/fsck -y" twice because the first run modifies my startup disk for some unreported reason. Then my MacBook will run fine for a couple hours before I have to repeat the process all over again.
I've run Apple's Hardware Test and everything came up fine. I did some research and found this old article, which describes a similar bug in the MacBook model prior to mine (late 2010), which suggests some kind of known graphics card hardware bug:

I've found a solution — or rather a patch. I downloaded gfxCardStatus and set it as a Startup Item. It adds an icon and menu to Mac OS X's menu bar, and from there you can tell the system to use the "Integrated Only" graphics hardware instead of "Dynamic Switching."
This apparently prevents the system from using the "Discrete Only" graphics hardware, which in my case was causing the crashes.
This patch allows all graphics-intensive apps to run on my Mac, including iPhoto, Photoshop and SketchUp.
Apple, when are you going to address this problem? Your hardware test apps failed to find any hardware problems.

IPhone screen keeps going black and buttons are unresponsive

Hey everyone, I left my iPhone 5 on charging and woke up to find the screen black, as if it's been turned off. None of the buttons work and neither does hooking it up to the computer. I held the power and home button together to reset it and turn it back on. Luckily it worked, but after an hour or two the screen went black again. This has happened four or so times since yesterday and is getting quite annoying. Does anyone know what is the cause of this problem or how it can be fixed?

Looks like an issue with the GPU or with VRAM. You do have a third-party extension loaded, so you might try working in Safe Mode to see if the panics cease. If they do then uninstall the software for VaraAudio to determine if its driver is the cause. Also disconnect any third-party peripherals.

The update does take time and 30 minutes is not unusual. Is there anything else happening on your screen such as a long bar that fills in very slowly?
