2nd post - same problems!

Hi, I have an eMac with Tiger which I have upgraded to 10.4.8 recently. Since then my mac has been going balistic! I have a jumpy shrinking screen, she turns herself off randomly and is now switching the sound to mute. I have run disk repair permissions, disk repair and apple hardware tests, all are clear. I have been advised that all I can do now is a complete OS X re-install. Before I do this, is there anything else I can do or check and if I do re-install Tiger from scratch, will I lose anything and is there anything I should aware of before doing it? I'd appreciate any help! : (

2nd phone same problem

My wifes BB Curve 8330 Verizon at least twice a week has this problem. When she gets a call the person calling her can hear her but she cannot hear them. This happens randomly a couple of times a week. It does not make a difference if the call comes from a land line or cell phone. She can still get and send email and text meesages but she cannot hear them. After she does a reboot the phone works. This is the 2nd phone it is doing it on. Any one have any idea what could be causing this. I don't think it could be 2 different phones with the same problem.

two pnoes arre not a coincidece, and it would have nothing to do with the BB. I would almost bet that ht sin card is bad, and when they changed phones, the resused the sim in the second phone/ I would request a phone directly fron RIM nort in Verion stockl Also make sure they give you a new siml,

I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.

Mot Droid X2 dial pad snafu - same problem on 2nd replacement phone

I have have received two replacement phones in the last 5 days with the same problem as the original.When on a call and asked to input some numbers from the dial pad....like voicemail password, the dialer will take maybe one or two numbers and then take no more and black out. Can get it lighted again but cannot input the numbers,...like it is dead. Verizon might as well remove voicemail from its services. Serious issue. Phone is running Android 2.3.4.and System version1.3.380 MB870 Anyone else have this problem???

I thought this may be the case. There are a lot of apps where if you look at the permissions of the applications, it has full access to phone calls. It's really hard to tell if it's like a bad concoction of apps or if it's one app in particular. What I would recommend is downloading a dialer application. Just search for "Dialer" in the Market, and you should see plenty of them that have great reviews. Give 1 or 2 a shot and see if that helps the issue any. Just an idea. Maybe the only thing affected is the stock dialer.
The other option is to of course master reset and add apps slowly one by one to try and figure out which is the culprit. That is tedious, and may not give you a definitive answer in my opinion.
Post your results if you have some time.

you can connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode:
Hold down the Home button and the Power button simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off.
Now let go of the Power button, but continue to hold the Home button. Your iPod Touch/iPhone should have turned off and the screen should not be on.
After around ~10-20 seconds, you will hear a noise (beep/ding) from your CPU as if it had just recognized a new hardware device
and restore it to default settings, in order to remove your password (or just remove your password directly from the iPod touch, in order to sync with iTunes)

RE: Installed "Access Denied" posting. I have same problem and none of the answers have worked. Ownership is blank but application will not accept me.

RE: "Access Denied" question following install of Firefox. I have same problem. Details follow: I tried opening in Safe Mode which did not work. I have Administrative access. When I click the general tab in properties I get a message that "firefox.exe" does not exist. Neither that file nor any other "install" type of file appears in the Mozilla Firefox directory except for "uninstall". I have downloaded and tried to install seven times from six different sources, including Mozilla, all with the same results. I've also tried a number of solutions from the web for this error message with no greater success. I tried, first, doing an upgrade then deleted the older version of Firefox and have done "install" since. Avast, Malwarebytes and Threatfire have found no malware.

my ipod has been acting weird (i. e. freezes momentarily [up to 30 sec, i'm estimating]) also, when i've hooked up my ipod, it makes windows all wacky... it freezes itunes, and when i ctrlaltdel the unresponsive program, the whole taskbar and icons go away (meaning windows explorer is freezing and goes away when i quit itunes)... but when i disconnect my ipod, the taskbar and everything come back (really frightened me the first time, i restarted my computer.... manually... with the power button...) and logged back on and the taskbar and icons were still gone... to which i figured out having my ipod plugged in was doing it. i really want to know what's going on with my ipod as well... i know it did start upon my installation of itunes 6 also.
and, something that started today, my ipod will play not even the first second of a song, pause (freeze, actually), then i have to wait a while for it to come up again. this is pretty annoying.
will some apple rep take notice of our problems?
I should've known something bad was going to hapen, when i first tried installing itunes 6 it said that it was missing some files or something, and that i had to try re-installing it. erg.

I have the same problem also. All of a sudden my iPod starts take a very long time it switch songs and will sometimes freeze in the middle of the songs. Once I restarted the iPod and(using Menu and Select button) and all of my songs were deleted(which isnt supposed to happen) but then like an hour later after turning it on and off a few times they all reappeared. During this time is when i realized that every time i plug my iPod in any application using it will temporarily freeze until it is unplugged. So i guess the only way to fix it is to send it in. Im going to try plugging it into another computer to see if that will help, but i doubt it. Good luck with yours angel. God Speed.

Iphone 4Gs battery life: 2nd phone has same problem

I bought a 4gs last June (to replace a 4Gs that I lost) and the new phone's battery died after roughly 3 hours. Through my mobile provider I had it replaced, but also the new phone (so the second) has the same problem. The battery drains out within a few hours.
I have bluetooth turned off, most locations services turned off, hotspot turned off, for most apps I have turned off push notifications, i have the automatich time zone turned off, etc. But even in the night, when not using it at all, it uses 20 to 40%!
Any suggestions?

Does anyone experience the same problem?
I have my mac on 'Highest Performance' and it is set never to sleep.. If I leave it and dont touch it for about 5 to 10 minuets, when I come back to it and move the mouse to do something, it shows me the beach ball for a while and I can hear the macs hard drive firing up.. Is this normal.. I had the same problem with the last G5 Quad I had also..

I think you are on it. You could try disconnecting the external devices and see if that mitigates the problem. I am not familiar with the specific hardware associated with your device, but it might be that it must do some checks when it wakes from some dormant state, and that might cause the beachball.
Does that device have hard drives? Maybe it waits for those to spin up. My MOTU device has no hard drives but does cause weird things to occur if I leave it plugged in and on while doing other than audio work.
If you haven't already check the manufacturer's website to see if there are any updated drivers and/or notes regarding this specific problem.
If you have the problem with all firewire and USB devices except the keyboard and mouse plugged in that would point towards a specific device and/or bus.

IPod Touch 2nd Gen. Problems

Lately I've started having multiple problems on my iPod touch, to list them:
1) the shuffle feature doesn't work as it should; in a playlist of around 30 songs it will shuffle through the same 5 or 6 for ages! I have to repeatedly press next for several minutes till it finally reaches a new song and even then it usually just adds that one or possibly two extra songs into its loop.
2) I'm not sure about this one but when I play a video once the video finishes it starts again from the beginning depending on whether or not I've got repeat turned on in the music app. As I said I'm not sure about this. This could be how it's meant to work but its never done it before and has only occured recently and sporadically.
3) When downloading apps if I move from the home screen the app is installing on, it just disappears and I have to start the download again; also it can just cancel any downloads for no apparent reason and it won't download anything till I turn Wi-Fi on and off.
4) The create playlist feature no longer works, I add songs to a playlist and the next time I sync my iPod with the computer it removes them from the playlist instead of updating the computers version to match my changes.
5) When I try continue a playlist or album I was listening to several hours ago it will randomly play either another album or the entire iPod library despite the fact that when I open the music app it opens at the point at which I left it.
6) My Google calenders occasionally disappear meaning I have to remove and re-add my account to regain my calender info.
I have restored the iPod twice, if its of any assistance my iPod is the second gen. iPod touch 32GB iOS 4.2.1 and it is NOT jailbroken (I don't do that sort of thing). My computer is a late 2008 aluminium macbook running Mac OS X Lion.

I'm not convinced that adding to a two-and-a-half year old post is going to get you anywhere.
You should be running iTunes 12 by now, while the original post refers to iTunes 10. So one would imaging that any problem caused by bugs in iTunes 10 had been sorted out by now.
I suggest that you create a new discussion, specific to your issues and that your description of the problems you have is a bit more detailed than you have provided so far.

What problem precisely? I regularly use a 2nd generation Touch and do not have any problems with it.

Hi. I'm having a weird experience on opening document using
the Microsoft word 2008 application in MAC OS X.
To be specific on what is the scope of my application.
What I'm trying to do is run or simulate my application on appletviewer on a certain pop-up HTML
document. The first part of my statement block on my code doing well on
executing the downloading process of a file and save it on local machine.
This portion of works fine.
But the thing that I'm having some difficulties is

Now the weird things happen here.
The file was able to opened- as I wanted to, but when a made changes or not doing anything.
The Microsoft Word 2008 application on the MAC Activity Monitor. The instance was still alive or
keep running and I execute MAC commands being implement on the Process on the Terminal and it still
stuck in that thing. which means I have to manually kill the process of the said application on
the GUI part of Task Manager of MAC and my 2nd statement on the if replies.
Any thoughts will glady appreciated.
