2PFW/1/999: built-in

Part of the RAM in my G5 went bad, so I purchased some new memory and replaced all of it. In my attempt to use Apple Hardware Test to verify that the new RAM was good, it would get about 5-6 minutes into the test (both basic and extended) and stop with the error "2PFW/1/999: built-in". I could never get to the point of actually testing the memory.
The error itself is pretty vague. I did various searches and could only come up with http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4782879 , which didn't help me understand the problem at hand. I don't have any ongoing issues with my G5 as the writer of that message had; at most, I have a reasonably rare full-stop "you must reboot your computer" on kernel load, and even more rare occurrence during operation.
I called AppleCare to get some feedback as to whether I should call in an out-of-warranty repair, and towards that end, specifically find out what the error message actually meant. After some number of minutes on hold, the AppleCare rep came back with a reference to that Apple Discussions message, as if they themselves don't understand the errors that Apple's tools give.
Calling my local Apple Store, I found out that to replace the motherboard will be $750 + tax +$135 for labor. Clearly this is a lot of money to spend to fix an error that doesn't appear to directly be causing me any problems. But it does impact my ability to use Apple's diagnostic tool for other preventative purposes.
I'd like to know if anyone else has more details on what the error is trying to tell me.

I tried that -- going down to just DVI/keyboard/mouse -- except for the 30 minute wait, and still got that error. I can try it with the wait and see how that goes.
That's a FireWire error? Not Power Fail Warning?

How to use the new MacBook 13'' with Built-in 7-hour battery

Hi,
I just bought the new MacBook, it is my first Mac, and having the Built-in 7-hour battery I don't know if I can plug it in most of the times without doing any damage to the battery.
On other portable computers, I just take the battery out and than plug it in and use it, but in this one that can not be done.
So, what to do? Try to always drain and recharge fully, or it is no problem to plug it in when the battery is fully charged?
I read that you should let it sleep(when it goes to sleep because it doesn't have battery)for 5 hours before charging it so it really drains. Is that really necessary?
Also after it goes to sleep and I plug it in to charge, should I let it charge in Sleep Mode, or should I Shut it down and let it charge?
What has been your experience with battery life? The first time I used it, it lasted for 4hours, is this normal and it will get better with 3 or 4 fully charges/draines?

Hey guys, I understand your concern that you're not getting 7 hours out of your battery but let me put a couple things into perspective and also offer you some info from Apple's website that may or may not explain why you aren't getting the full 7 hrs.
First mgb545, 5.5 hours is killer for laptop battery, but nonetheless you paid for it for the 7 hour battery so I don't fault you in any way for wanting what they said you would get.
Second, the MacBook is Apple's "sub $1000" notebook. At first mention of that you think, "alright, it's under a thousand bucks!". It is, it's just $999...
My point is that it's an advertising game. The MacBook can get +up to+ 7 hours on a single charge but not everybody is doing the same things or has the same configuration as when Apple was testing their machines. You might have a Time Machine HDD backing up (which I don't recommend nor do I think you guys do since you didn't mention it) or some other USB peripheral that takes power which would lower the battery's life. That all being said, I think or at least hope you'll find your answer there. For starters, it says "various websites". Who knows if those were basic HTML or Flash heavy sites or a combination of both? The other stipulation of this is brightness. Do you guys have your brightness at 50% or is it higher?
Try this, I know the weekend just passed, but if you find that you have 7 hours where you don't need your laptop, leave it on, make sure it doesn't go to sleep or screen saver, play with it every so often, leave wi-fi on, make sure your brightness is at 50% and then see how long it lasts.
One last thing, when you say you're getting 5.5 hrs out of your battery, how low are you letting it go to? I'm assuming when Apple says "a single charge" they mean it. So if you're getting 5.5hrs when it goes down to 8 or 10% you also need to factor in the extra time you might gain from that.
Hope this help, let me know how your computers are set up, I'm curious to know if this will resolve or at least account for your lack of 7 hrs because me just recently got the 13" MBP and it doesn't get 7hrs either.

Mac Mini compatible display with webcam/mic built in?

Been on a good search around the internet and haven't found any new displays that are reviewed and confirmed to be compatible with mac mini or any other mac for that matter and feature a built in webcam/mic that will work for Facetime. I'm not looking to spend $999 for a 27" Thunderbolt Apple display. Size doesn't really matter. I found some on Dell that meet my needs but I'm unsure if they work. I was recommended by some on another forum for an older Dell Monitor that did work with Mac Mini and was reviewed multiple times to do so. It's used however you can't find that monitor new anymore. Any help or suggestions by anyone that has found a monitor to be compatible with a built in webcam/cam would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!

PRC search in built-in properties

Hi there,
I would like to write a portlet which could search in User objects and in specified properties/property of users. I mean a portal user has first name, last name, email, company etc. built-in properties and it is allowed to add more user specified properties as well. I would like to search only in email property or in company name, etc.
There is a IFilterClause object and it has a addStatement(Field, operator, value) method. It could be cool for me but I need Field objects... I can create new Field objects with PortalFields.forID(id) method, but I CANNOT create fields with id number<100... Email, company etc. properties have id number<100. Of course non built-in properties (created by an administrator for example) have id number >200, so I can search in non bulit-in properties only.
Is there any solution to create FilterClause statements for built-in properties?

I am developing a portlet to search the properties of a user's profile using C#. If you could post the code to assist me with this issue I would be greatful. I currently am using the code below and have hard coded the ID for the user Address in as when I had it pulling from the web.config I was receiving the error : Property ID out of Range. How to send 999 from BizTalk Server 2009?

I am trying to send 999 from BizTalk server 2009. I downloaded 999 (Errata schema) from CU4 of BizTalk 2009.
I know we need to map 997 to 999 as there are no built in configuration avaialable. If you have any BizTalk mapper to do 997 - 999 transformation. Please share with me.
Also is there any other way to accomplish this, please let me know your thoughts.

you can send 999 acknowledgement even without mapping.

To generate 999 acknowledgements, you must create a custom receive pipeline and set the Use 999 Acknowledgment Instead
of 997 option to True.
you also need to configure EDI acknowledgement property
When the 997 acknowledgement is enabled, BizTalk EDI assumes that 997 Acknowledgement must be generated for the incoming message from
the party. With the Override997With999 property set to True, a 999 is returned instead of
a 997. If you don’t want a 997 or 999, uncheck the 997 Expected property in the agreement. A 997 and 999
acknowledgement cannot be generated simultaneously. If this is the goal, a custom pipeline component is needed.

Resolution of built-in display with dvi adapter

I've connected my Imac to my Samsung DLP using a mini-dvi to s-video adapter. The display on the tv is fine, but the problem is that when ever the adapter is plugged in, I lose all widescreen resolutions for the built-in display. Does anyone know a way around this? If I used a mini-dvi to vga or hdmi adapter instead, would it do the same thing?

Then leave the adapter connected to the Mac for two reasons;
1. to prevent having to Detect and Adjust everytime it is connected.
2. to prevent ware and tare / damage to the Mac's Mini DVI port.
Mirroring will always cause the Mac's resolution to change, the system is using the best resolution to support both Mac and TV display's.

How can I display and change built-in symbols of a tree control programmatically?

I want to set the built-in symbols of a tree control during runtime.
I only found an example to assign custom pictures but not how to select one of the 40 built-in symbol.

The ActiveItem.SymbolIndex will allow you to select the symbol for the active item. You can use the ListBox Symbol Ring Constant (Dialog and User Interface palette) to select a symbol (or you can just enter the number directly if you know what it is).

How do i remove image links to adobe site with my dreamweaver built flash gallery ?

This is probably a very simple solution, but i can't figure out how to remove the link to the adobe site when you click on the images in my gallery--I built a site in dreamweaver used the insert media option and added my photos---when uploaded, my images in the gallery are clickable and take you to the adobe site...how do i make the images have no link??

My laptop no longer detects my built in webcam

I have an HP G60-635DX notebook. I have a built in webcam which I have used several times before, but now all of a sudden my laptop is not even detecting I have a built in webcam. What to do? I have a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Webcam. It bums me out. It is the only way I can talk to my boyfriend face to face while he is out of town and now it is not even working!

OK, to start with, may I know if you can you check using webcam with Cyberlink Youcam Software & if webcam is listed in device manager under imaging device....

Can not replace the built in XSL Transformations

I have a web app which uses Xalan (2.3.1++) runnin on 7.0.0.1. It runs fine in
WL 6.1 using the weblogic transformer. However, when porting it to 7.0 I keep

The web controller lists cameras that are bound to Podcast Producer. It cannot list ad-hoc sources, which usually includes the built-in iSight camera. If you were to bind your camera to Podcast Producer using the Podcast Capture application, it will show up in the web controller.

Contact Apple. I believe you have a hardware issue there if it's not showing up in your System profiler.

Voice over tool & built-in audio

When I open FCE, I routinely get a message "unable to locate built-in audio." I ignore it and continue, so far as I know without any bad consequences for my projects. Sound input and output seems fine, except when I try to use the voiceover tool.
My mic is hooked up through a Tascam US-122 usb connection. Indicator lights on the usb interface show that the mic is working, and the sound preferences panel also shows the sound from the mic coming into the computer at normal levels (the input levels indicator lights up when I speak into the mic)
My voiceover tool settings are Tascam US-122 for source and for input. My output is set for headphones. Adding to the mystery is that on rare occasions, after trying many changes in settings and closing/reopening the project, the voiceover tool will suddenly work properly (I haven't been able to isolate a cause). Today, however, nothing I do seems to help. I recently upgraded to osx 10.4.10, but the problem existed long before that. Any suggestions?

There is an issue with some USB based sound devices and FCE HD.
You can use Soundflower pref panel to allows virtual "rewiring" of your audio from input source to output destination. That may resolve your problem.
Search this forum with "soundstick, USB, soundflower" keywords.

Is there a way to use dynamic built string in the "from" clause

Hi all, im having one problem and now, im not sure how to solve it easily at all... :) Is there someone that would be so kind and put a eye on it? ..thx
I have plsql proc, in which i have a list of table_names. For each of that table i need to run a query that will retrieve me a list of values and for each of that value i need to do something.
If i can be more specific about the problem -> each of that table is built as key_column, value_columns, day,starttime. For a key per table there are 4 records per hour - every quarter. Im truncating those quarters to full-quarter (minutes => 0->14 = 0min; 15->29 = 15min, 30->44 = 30, 45->59=45)

i get for one key and specific hour four records at 15:01;15:16;15:31;15:46 => i truncate em to 15:00;15:15;15:30;15:45..Sometimes there is a problem with the tool that is generating those data for me, and one quarter could be moved a little - so i get data like 15:01;15:16;15:29;15:46 => after i truncate the times i get duplicates in second quarter. It also can happen like this : 23:00; 23:14; 23:29; 23:44; 23:59 => totaly bad => cos the last one supposed to be as 0:00 next day, ..and 23:14 as 23:15...So...that was a problem - and solution -> i wanted to create plsql that will find those hours in each table i ve defined, and for each problem hour i make some fixes - update the bad time ...
..and i have problem - can i put an dynamic built table_name in the "from" clause?
example how i wanted to do that:

Can we use the built-in Row fetch for Multiple reports in a page?

I need to create a page with multiple report regions. Each of it is based on a table. Those tables are different. I somewhat remembered that we can NOT use the built in automatic row fetch process if there are multiple report regions, neither the built in DML process. You have to make your own fetch and insert/update/delete process if you intend to.
Also if I write my own row fetch and update processes, do I have to consider lock mechnism? or just simply write select and insert/update?
Any input is appreciated.

I think I found the answer. Would Scott or other gurus take a look at the thread and confirm it, in case the limitation is not in 2.0?

What I am concered about is that the locking mechanism. If I have to write my own process to fetch and insert/update, other than the regular select and insert/update statements, do I have to put commit by myself, or htmldb can handle it automatically? Is there an example for this?
