3.0.1 Never exits after tagging Faces

The last few times I've run Aperture 3.0.1 and have been tagging faces it refuses to exit. I've not performed any other actions besides tagging faces. I have 32k plus photos in my library.
When I choose "Quit" it runs for hours and hours and never quits. It is stuck with the popup "Updating Library...". Normally it lists a number of items and then counts up but in this case it never shows a count.
The last time it never actually showed the "Updating Library..." popup.
Each time I eventually force quit. Each time, I repair library on startup...

I assume you mean Visual Voicemails rather than Voice Memos.
I recommend you call AT&T and let them know you are having this problem. The fix may be as simple as having them reset your voicemail.

Some tagged faces in iPhoto 11 missing under person's name

A few days ago I sent my mom a couple of photos of my dad. I went to his name in Faces and found some and e-mailed them to her.
She asked me if I could make some prints of them so this evening I went back into iPhoto and clicked on his name again under Faces. I couldn't find one of the photos I had sent her. I was able to find it under the tagged face of another person in the photo. I checked and my dad is tagged in the photo but it no longer shows up under his Faces photos. It was there just a few days ago.
I tried repairing and rebuilding the iPhoto database and the missing photo is still not under his name.
I'm wondering what happened and also how many other photos are missing from their tagged names.

actually - I just found out on another thread that perhaps "file path" was never on the information panel anyway. I wonder if I am confusing it with the info panel I see in iphoto library Manager.
And I just hovered my mouse over the "at the beach" file name in the information panel, and discovered the origianal file name showed up. And if you hover your mouse of the date, you see "taken, modified and and imported".
Still wish I could see the file path, but now wondering if I ever did in iPhoto. But hope this reply of my own helps others that may be wondering where some of the stuff went.

After install of 8.1.5 SQLLDR.EXE wont exit after sucessful load.

After installing 8.1.5, SQLLDR.EXE wont exit after sucessfully loading a table. My DOS window just hangs. Has anyone had this problem? Version 8.1.5 is the highest license we have. I was on 8.0.5 and it worked ok.

Sorry to reply to my own post but this may help someone else.
The problem is that the Solaris 10 Express install doesn't install the /kernel/misc/sparcv9/kbtrans module. I just copied it before I rebooted after the first CD install.
(1) At the <Press Return to reboot the system> {"!" exits} prompt, enter "!"
(2) The new root partition will be mounted as /a.
(3) Copy the kbtrans file
cp -p /kernel/misc/sparcv9/kbtrans /a/kernel/misc/sparcv9/kbtrans
(4) Reboot
This is just a workaround - Sun needs to fix the install.

Is there a way to tag faces in Lightroom that is exportable as metadata?

I'm scanning a bunch of old family photos and I want to be able to tag faces of relatives and export those names and the corresponding faces as metadata. Ideally this metadata would be in some universal format that is then readable by everything- Windows, Mac OSX, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Is that possible via XMP?
Searchable keywords are great, but they don't go far enough. In a photo of a family reunion from 40 years ago, I need to attach each name to a specific face and know that some future family member will be able to decipher those tags 40 more years into the future.
I think everyone could benefit from this. Architectural photographers could tag each piece of furniture with the name of the designer, sports photogs could tag several athletes within each pic, wedding photographers could tag the wedding party and family members.
Is there a way to do that now? If not, is this ability coming soon?

So. I've done a lot of reading since last night, including some papers from the Metadata Working Group.
Here's what I think I've learned:
the feature I want, that I've been calling "face tagging", is called "Image Region Metadata" by software companies
Adobe created support for image region metadata within XMP
Adobe, Apple, Canon, Microsoft, Nokia and Sony founded something called the Metadata Working Group to standardize the use of increasingly complex metadata
The Metadata Working Group published a set of guidelines in Nov 2010 that included guidelines for image region metadata
As of now, only Google Picasa and Windows Photo Gallery actually support any kind of XMP image region metadata (or what I called "face tagging")
Did I get all that correct?

Word Wrap after tagging

Hello all,
we have a problem mit the hypernation, when tagging a text.
There is a pharagraph with different fonts (Univers and UniversCE).
We use that document with a plug-in tagging different words.
In that paragraph the hyphernation after tagging is wrong.
There ist a reflow in the paragraph.

Can someone help me with that?
I don't think that tagging should reflow the pharagraph

Googling for "minimal java browser" turns up one open-source alternative and one commercial alternative that appears to be in open beta.
The installation process for third-party applications is detailed, in several different variants, in tutorial A70 - How to Deploy and Distribute Applications.
I have not personally attempted this process, but would be interested in trying it out for experience's sake.

Try to reset your iPod and then deauthorize and reauthorize your computer, then sync the iPod again.
To reset the iPod touch just hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see an Apple logo appear.
You can deauthorize the computer from the iTunes Store menu.

Issues tagging faces in iphoto and Facebook

I have iPhoto 11 (v9.4.3 720.91) and have been using faces on it for the last 4 months or so.
I linked my facebook account with my iPhoto and have been sharing albums on facebook happily, assuming the faces I tagged were tagging on facebook too.
However, when I shared an album yesterday I realised the tags on facebook are just names, not links to the facebook pages.
I have spent ages reading posts and other questions like this but have had no luck... When I type a name, I see loads of names with the facebook symbol and those presumably tag correctly in facebook, however both mine and my partner's don't have that icon and aren't tagging correctly.
The full name of both of our 'faces' is correct, as were our email addresses. I tried changing the email addresses to the @facebook.com ones but that made no difference.
I have tried sharing a photo that iPhoto recognises as having two faces but kept them as 'unamed' and then tagged them in facebook instead. When I update my facebook album containing that photo in iPhoto, the photo has both of our names tagged, but in the info bar on the right, neither name appears in the 'faces' section; and both my partner and my 'faces' show one unconfirmed face on that particular photo. I am unable to confirm the faces though, it just keeps saying they are unconfirmed once I have confirmed them.
It is really annoying me, as I don't want to have to upload photos to facebook before tagging faces and tagging them on facebook and then on iPhoto AS WELL!
Anyone have any idea or any help here?

I think the issues I have are only with people whose faces I tagged in iPhoto before I linked to facebook...
Ill try contacting facebook and see if they can help. Will post any solution I get here for others.

RMI server exits after 10 minutes

I have a strange problem: The rmi server exits after about 15 minutes when using my own socket factories. The reason seems to be, that only daemon threads are left in the servers VM.
If I add code like:

to the main method, the server continues to run as desired, the main thread is not a daemon thread.
I checked the accept method of my factory, it runs in a daemon thread.
Is there any configuration property to specify that the server should run forever?
BTW: the server does not exit when using no own socket factories.

adobe reader x (10.1.2 ) will exit after about 10 seconds. I have xp (sp3), almost g gigs of ram, pent 4, 2.8 ghz, I have totaly erased and reloaded reader, flash, no luck.
I load it independently and as soon as I get to a document it counts out the 10 seconds and exits. no trace of any spy ware or virus.

IPhoto doesn't recognize Aperture 3-tagged Faces

Help - I just spent a week tagging faces and places in slides I scanned for someone. I export Versions, but when I import them into iPhoto ('09), it brings in the places but not the faces. Any ideas?

Make sure that Aperture is in your Applications folder (not a subfolder) and is simply named Aperture. Software update will not be able to see it if you moved or re-named it.

Premiere Pro CS3 now exits after loading

After using premiere pro cs3 for quite a while, all of a sudden it exits after loading. I'm not sure if this is an Adobe problem or a Norton problem or a machine problem. It happened after a power failure, and while I was running premiere at the time, my power backup let me close the file and shut down premiere before it too died.
The computer is working fine with all other programs, including Encore & Photoshop. I just can't run Premiere. The other strange thing is that I can no longer access the Adobe site from that computer. The site starts to load then hangs forever.
I tried re-installing Premiere, no-luck. Then I downloaded the last update to CS3 (on another machine because the Premiere machine won't connect to the site) and tried to install it. No dice. The install hangs forever with "installing" on the screen.
I thought maybe there was an "installer" or "updater" problem, but can't figure it out.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply.   I'll try that too.
A suggestion I got over at the DV board was to create a new admin account in XP and try opening premiere under that.   That worked!   Unfortunately, since I created my projects under the old admin file, I don't have access to them under the new one.   I'm copying files to a different folder at this point, but I know Premiere doesn't like that.
If deleting the preference file works, it'd be a lot simpler.

By-the-way, how did you get your screen name to not be your email address?   I can't seem to do it.   I went into my account and changed things, but the forum seems to insist that my screen name is my ID which seems to have to be my email address.

My Ipod classic stopped suddenly while playing on the dock. On checking it said connect to iTunes to restore and the battery had also exhausted itself. On connecting to iTunes it kept displaying the message Do Not Disconnect. It never worked after that.

BlackBerry Travel app ver 3.1.1.2 auto-exits after a refresh

The app randomly auto-exits after I refresh (via drag down and release) the Upcoming Trips page.
In my usage scenario, after I drag down and release, the app displays "loading..." and then it either redisplays the Upcoming Trips page or it closes the page.
