I can't change the BPM [iTunes v12.0.1.26]

My problem is very simple: I want to assign a track the BPM, but if the track doesn't have any BPM in its tags, it is not possible to add them via iTunes. There is no field to enter the BPM in the information tab. If the track already has a BPM inserted, you can change it easily, but not if there are none.
I could add the BPM already before importing into iTunes, but it takes much longer than i would need via iTunes. Before this update this worked perfectly. Also doubleclicking the empty space in the BPM row won't let me change anything.

Right-click the track, Get Info and look at the Details tab. At the bottom, click on "Add Field," and BPM will be one of the choices.

Bug(?) with iCal - Can not change the event time

Hello all,
First of all, let me preface my question by admitting that I'm new to the Mac world, transitioning from MS environment. So please, be a bit patient
Now, on to my problem:
I have created events in iCal and I can not change the time for any event. The time that's always displayed is 15:54! I have checked the time zone setting to on/off to se if it makes a difference, but to no avail. I have also gone into preferences and under the General Tab, the Day starts at and the Day ends at: show three (3) selections; Noon, 15:54, Midnight !!???
I have changed the Show hours at a time, to see if that makes a difference, but it does not.
To add to the above mystery, I have created events with my mobile SonyEricsson K850i, with the correct time(s), date, etc., synchronized with iCal and the time changed to 15:54!!
This is a new MacBook Pro, with the latest patches! For some reason the iCal applet does not allow any changes to the time.
Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you change the value of a variable that is reset by a parameter?

Sorry if this is simple but I just crashed a package and can't do an autopsy. I suspect I sent it into an infinite loop. I know you can't change the value of any passed in parameters. What I tried to do was have the parameter set the value of a variable
and then I tried to change the value of the variable. Is that even allowed?
I was trying to do this:
MyCheckVariable = MyParameter (which equals true)
(some cool stuff happens)
MyCheckVariable = False
I hit F5 and my package turned into the Energizer Bunny. Is the way I try to reset the variable the culprit?

This is a prototype so I just created a project parameter and set it to true. In the real world the parameter will be used to control an optional part of the process because on a re-run after error that part doesn't have to be ran again.
So when I say MyCheckVariable = MyParameter (which equals true) in reality what I actually have is in the variables window I'm using an expression and it looks like this in the variables window
name = runDownload
Scope = Package
Data Type = Boolean
Value = True (but greyed out)
Expression = @[$Project::param_runDownload]

After You Drag an Icon Into the Dock, Can You Change the Way it Looks?

I work with files that are on a few Windows servers, so I can't change the icons of any files or folders that are on those servers. I've dragged each of the servers' icons into my dock so I can access them quickly, but all the icons in the dock look the same. Is there a way I can change the icons in the dock that represent those servers? There's no "Get Info" for them so you can't copy and paste the same way you can with folder/file icons that reside on your hard drive.
I created an alias (shortcut), copied it onto my desktop, changed that icon, then dragged that into my dock, and then deleted all the original aliases, but it doesn't hold the link, so I want to be able to drag the server icon into the dock and then access that icon and change it.
Any suggestions?

Anything on this yet? The whole "alias/shortcut" thing didn't work. I actually got it to work but after restarting the computer the icons in the dock show as question marks.
Isn't there a resource file or something I can dig into to change those icons in the dock?

How can I change the tempo and pitch of individual tracks on Garageband 10.0.3?

I just recently started using Garageband 10.0.3 and it's been updated completely, which is good in some ways. However, many things have been cleaned up and/or hidden and it's taken me a while to find certain tools or do certain things.
I've been trying to change the pitch of tracks in my project and it's taken me forever to find out how, but eventually I did. I think, though, that it changes the pitch of the whole project? (I changed the pitch by using one of the plugins, I think it's called AUPitch?) I have to double-check that, but that's how I've been changing the pitch of the tracks.
To the bigger problem... Tempo. I have searched for a good 2 hours trying to find out how to change the tempo of tracks individually and I'm really frustrated. I tried the BPM solution (changing the BPM at the very top), but that seems to change the whole project. I just want to change the tempo of individual tracks, not the whole thing. Is it even possible now?
I'm really considering using a different program. Hopefully this is just me being slightly clueless and not Garageband's fault.

The AuPitch filter will work on individual tracks, no problem.
But you can change the tempo only for the entire project with the global tempo setting or the Tempo Track.
As a work-around: To change the tempo of individual tracks solo each track, change the tempo, then bounce the track as an audio file and reimport that audio file with the changed tempo to an audio track.

OK I am sure that this is a common issue. Back when my daughter was about 9 or 10 years old, we bought her an iPod Touch. I have a similar situation however a bit more complicated! It seems that when I was setting the birthdate I forgot to change the year so now my seven years old daughter shows up as a two months old! There is no way to change the birthdate because it shows up in light grey when I login into my daughters account and doesn't allow a change! The birthdate can be changed only when the child turns 13 however according to this she will have to be 20 before she can change it to show property 13 and here is where this is getting completely out of hand! Now to make things more complicated I have twin daughters and they came up with their unique but similar Apple ID, so changing one will require to change both Apple IDs! After being on the phone with Apple's customer support for about one hour I talked to a supervisor and the supervisor of the supervisor and their only solution is to create a new Apple ID! Of course in my case I will have to create two new Apple IDs, and I'm considering doing it. However when I started reading it becomes more complicated because I already made their Apple IDs part of my family group. It seems like you're not able to just let go of family member that is less than 13 years of age. You can only transfer it to another family, so Apple is making sure there are no kids left behind It seems like the only option will be to "abandon" the family and then create a new family with the new Apple IDs. If all this sounds bizarre to you it sounds bizarre to me too! If I can just put the kids in the car and drive them to the nearest one hour away Apple Store and have them show their credentials confirming their birthdate I would rather do that than having to spend more and more time with this issue, but that was not an option pointed out by customer support. So folks keep in mind that if you make a mistake your children's age is set in stone until he or she turns 20 if they happen to be seven at the time you made the mistake and no one can change this, even Apple! Now on the positive side I'm glad I didn't do the mistake when she was 13 or she will have to wait until she's 26 Most likely I'll be calling customer support tomorrow again and I will let you know how it went!

You need to add that attribute using the config tool for your view configuration. Select the attribute All Day from the context node BTDATE in the available fields to your display field and then save it. It should now be visible in your UI and now you can select or uncheck it to make the time field enable. Check the below image
