3.0 German Translation issues

Hello,
as said in other threads the German translation of "Export" is still "Unload"
also

4.1 Translation issue (german) in Home - Application Builder- Importieren

Hi there,
while looking a little bit around
I found a translation issue in Home -> Application Builder-> Importieren
In all cases the verb "exportieren" e.g in
"Datenbankanwendung, Seite oder Komponente exportieren"
rather must be the substantive "Export" (in fact the same as in English).
The usage of the verb is very misleading and says not what the the text is supposed to say.
(I think Patrick will see immediately what I mean.)
Also I would like to say, that the main page of APEX should be corrected
to indicate that 4.1 is running now.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll have a bug filed on this and this will have to be fixed in APEX 4.2.
Also, thanks for pointing that out about the home page of apex.oracle.com. We have not forgotten. It will be updated when Application Express 4.1 is released.

IProcurement-XLIFFExtractor german translation extraction issue.

When using XLIFFExtractor for the "Edit Lines" page within iProcurement not all German Translations are exported. None of the labels are extracted for the table in the DeliveryLinesRN region. I used the following command on the unix server:

The messages for the buttons on the page are exported but not the columns within the table. I also tried to export region DeliveryLinesRN but got the error: Error: "/oracle/apps/icx/por/req/webui/customizations/site/0/CheckoutLinesButton sRN" not found in repository.
Is there some other page or region I need to export to capture the translations in the table?

Check the page xml whether that region is coming from the extension of a standalone region or whether its components defined as the part of page itself. If it is standalone region, you should be able to see the path of that region.

Help needed in URM German translation override with XLF file translation

I have a problem in URM 11.1.1.3 German translation override through a custom component.
I have a OOTB German context localization ww_strings.xlf file present in <oracle middleware home>/ucm/idc/components/Localization/lang/de in URM with a translation entry as
<trans-unit id="wwWarehouse@002frm">
<source>Warehouse</source>
<target>Warehouse</target>
</trans-unit>
The Warehouse storage type name is referring to the key 'wwWarehouse' and so i see 'Warehouse' as name in the storage pages.
when i am overriding this entry key using a custom component with the following entry it does not work and the original translation is shown in the page.
<@de.wwWarehouse=Archiv@>
I have checked that the loadOrder is not the issue here and issue is the presence of @002frm keyword.The entry <@de.wwWarehouse@002frm=Archiv@> also does not work
Any Idea how can i override the translation key.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to translate a BI report, or the string in the web interface?
I have to ask first:
- Have you enabled the German locale for Content Server?
- In your user profile, have you selected German?
Assuming both answers are yes...
I wouldn't worry about the XLF/XLIFF file if you are changing the caption in a report - provided the caption can even be translated in the report. URM does some black-magic translation for "certain" select strings in reports. Not sure "Warehouse" is one of them, though.
I'd avoid trying the <@lang_code.string@> route -- sometimes it works, sometimes not. In your custom component, create a folder structure like "resources/lang/de/ww_strings.htm", and put <@wwWarehouse=Archiv@> in that file.

OBIEE 11g Action Link translation issue

Hi All,
I have a translation issue with the Action links in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 version.
The pop-up which is displayed on clicking the column having action link is not getting translated. This seems to be the issue with all the action links.
All other catalog objects, captions etc are translated properly.
Has anyone faced similar issues ? Is there a workaround for this ?

Action links are not getting translated. I faced a similar problem in OBIEE 11.1.1.6 version.
What you can do is replace that action link with a 'link or image' option in dashboard objects.
'Link or Image' types of object get translated in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 as well as OBIEE 11.1.1.6 version.

German translation with ß renders website unusable

Hi,
I just wanted to report an ugly problem with the German translation for the language strings in Aperture 3. When I recently exported my photographs to a website it produced links that were completely unusable.
The problem: For detail view Aperture exports html pages that were in English named large-xxx.html. The German translation for "large" ist "groß" – but groß contains the letter ß. Thus all details pages produce 404 errors on a web server – a desaster!
I found the solution on the web: You habe to open Aperture package and have to manually change the German language strings (to "gross" or something alike).
But this is certainly not a solution which is feasible for everybody.
So please: Could somebody make it happen to remove this stupid bug from the next release?

Are you using the latest Aperture version 3.5.1, Reinhard?
Then, if you have a Developer Account, use "Bug Reporter" to file a Bug Report.
If you don't have access to Bug Reporter, fill out the Feedback form:
Apple - Aperture - Feedback
Describe the bug there, then the Developer Team will also see it.
I'll try to reproduce the bug, and if I can, I'll also file a bug report.

Bug UIX 2.2.8: wrong German translation for "next n" rows

Hi, there is a minor bug in the German translation of the table paging feature (previos n / next n rows) in UIX 2.2.8.
In German the text "next <n>" sould be translated to "weitere <n>" and not to "weiter <n>".

Bug UIX 2.2.8: German translation for paging drop down

Hi, there is a minor bug in the german translation of the paging drop down ("1-8 of 30") of a table.
In German there is a missing space: "1-8 von30" instead of "1-8 von 30".
Bug is new in 2.2.8. Was ok in 2.1.21.

Bug 3852688 has been filed and is being tracked.
If you want a patch, you can request for it through your support contract or wait for the next upgrade.
The next upgrade you can probably get would be 10.1.2 JDEV

Export a Final Cut Pro XML file problem about translation issue

When I export the final cut pro xml file, there is always translation issue like that 'Transition <....> not translated, Cross Dissolve used instead.'
Most of the transition type can cause the translation issues except the wipe and cross dissolve.
Is there any body knowing the reason? Is that OK?
By the way , I am using the trial version of cs5

I've been working with Adobe products for a long time and typically when you come across an error that has anything to do with a XML file export problem its due to things such as effects you may have added in, color corrections, cross fades or any type of video transitions between clips. Remember your work flow should be
Import your footage into Premiere Pro
Name your clips (helps find things later on)
Place clips on time line in the order you wish (ONLY MAKE CUTS don't add anything, transitions color effects nothing)
Then once your clips are all placed on the timeline in your correct order you then EXPORT> Final Cut Pro XML
Now you can bring this into other programs for color grading or whatever else your going to do. You will notice you have no errors on the export.
Once your done doing what your doing to the clips in another program (for example: Divinci Resolve color grading) you can then export them back to your main project then add your effects and transitions.

Trouble exporting 11-min film as XML because of audio translation issue

Hi, I am trying to export a short film XML file of approximately 11 minutes for a sound engineer and it's coming up with a ton of audio translation issues.
Can I attach the report and someone help me? Most of the issues are audio tracks from ADR but I recorded them with the same H4Zoom I used for the original, and some were the original production audio to which I applied the DeNoiser effect. They're all stereo files with the exception of a few mp3s which were special effect sounds. Why are they not being translated? What can I do to get this into an .xml?? It looks like somewhere between 100-150 audio files were not translated.

are you using merged clips? premiere merged clip XML issue
if the sound engineer will take another format, premiere can export OMF or if you have audition you can open the OMF in audition and export it as a fcp xml.

Wrong german translation in IOS 7.0

I found some wrong german translations in IOS 7.0
make a new contact add a new Number there comes a line calles "Radio" ?????
normaly it should be something llike "Mobil" or something else
What the **** is a Radio Number ??

PFCG Role Menus Translations issues

I have an issue, which i cant seem to fix or understand why it may have occured:
my issue is as follows:
The problem which I am having is that we have a number of custom Transaction CODES that we just translated into the German. However in the role menus they are still displayed in English language even when you change the login language to German.
I thought the reason this issue might be occuring, is because they may have been entered into the role menu prior to the translation ever existed
But if I create a new role with the same TRANSACTION CODE they are correctly displayed.

I have executed the program "Utility for adding texts to roles", and put in one of the ROLES which is a Z ROLE
what must it show?
what i can see is the following
I put in the role name and than I select the Language DE
What i see is the TRANSACTION CODEs LIKE.
KDH3...
and i also see 2 Z transactions too, against the 2 Z transactions i see the language as DE, but the transaction text is states "NO TEXT". all the other transactions inthe role arent Z transactions and they are shoing the GERMAN Transaction text.
Correct me if im wrong Jurjen, the 2 Z transactions with the language DE is showing "NO TEXTS" i take it its these 2 that need the texts adding? but how do i add the text?
Now the other interesting point is that if I select the Language EN, and execute the report I see the english transaction text showing up, which means the german transaction text is missing.
but why arent i seeing the german equivalent text for those 2 Z transactions?

Scenario:
1) Loaded LC YTD Trial balance for 2011.NOV
2) Run Fx Translations (it worked well as expected)
3) Run Carry forward to 2011.DEC with LC and USD
4) Loaded LC YTD Trial Balance for 2011.NOV
5) Run Validation report with local currency (my balance sheet looks good for openingbalance, current period activities and closing balance)
6) Run Validation report in USD for Opening balance, Still it balances for opening balance as its carry forwarded from previous period.
7) Run Fx translation package for DEC.2011
8) after FX translation my balance sheet is out of balance.
Error:
My Balancesheet is out of balance after running Currency translations when we have opening balances. it is out of balance with the amount for the same for the opening balance. I mean before running currency translation for opening balance total for balancesheet items is zero but after running currency translations the opening balance is out of balance and CLosing balance sheet is also out with same dollar number.
I am assuming the force close option is not working correctly. When we are on SP05 I remember it was working without any issue.
I appreciate if any comments on this issue.

Hi. On #1, try force translating these entities on their own. If that works, then I would call support about the all entities process not working. On #2, most people don't bother clearing the data after translating - just update it as needed. If you really want to clear it, you'll need an if/then in your calculate subroutine that runs the clear when at the reporting currency.
