3.01: iPhone import stuck on "Loading assets"

I'm trying to import pics and movies from my 3GS iPhone. When I try to import them, there are no thumbnails visible and Aperture shows the message "loading assets" in the activity window, but that's it. Am I the only one experiencing this? If not, is there a solution? Of course I could import them through photo loader (or whatever it's called in English) but I'd rather not...

This is becoming a bit of a solo thread, but never mind.
Turns out that the import setting "RAW+JPEG Pairs" isn't only about RAW/JPEG pairs but about all files. My setting was "Import RAW files only", which I construed as "If the camera is set to save both RAW and JPEG files, import only the RAW files" but which actually seems to be "Do not import JPEGs, only RAWs".

  • SD card fails to import - generates endless "Loading Assets" routine.

I seem to have a dodgy 8GB SD card, although it functions in the camera (Canon SX30), and I can manually transfer the photos into Aperture 3.2.1. Attempting to use the Import functions in Aperture result in zero activity apart from at lower left of the Aperture window, where the spinning paddlewheel endlessly spins while Aperture is equally endlessly "Loading Assets".
On the first occasion this happened, after a day or two elapsed the message popped up telling me "not to be a naughty boy and properly eject the media" (although I rarely lapse in that regard). After ackowledging same, Aperture appeared to have resumed normal operations.
At the second probing attempt to import from this card, the malfunction resumed, and I have reformatted the card in the camera.
My quetion is: "Is the any way I can break the loop?"
As I view the situation, force quitting is not required because both iMac and Aperture are otherwise working fine.

It's been a while since you posted this question. I read in another post that it had to do with photos deleted on the SD-card. Once you 'Empty Trash' for the SD-card, the problem should disappear. At least that was what happened in my case.

  • Aperture 3.3.1 stuck on loading assets

Trying to import photos to Aperture 3.3.1 on iMac.  It just sticks on 'Loading Assets" and after a few seconds, it shows TWO SD cards in the Import field! Neither loads any photos to Aperture.  Up till to today, the same equipement has allowed me to import with no problems.  And yet on my MBA 11", the same SD card and reader work perfectly!!
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks,

Well you might try moving your aperture cache to the desktop along with the preferences. First read   http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805     Remove the Aperture preference located in     ~/Library/Preferences...   where ~ is your home lib.  look for (com.apple.Aperture.plist)  You might want some parts of the preference back so the desktop is better than the trash.

  • Iphone 5 stuck on loading screen after update. Need help!

So I lacked space on my phone to update to iOS8 via WiFi so I attempted to via desktop.
Seemed to be working well until I got to a loading screen on iTunes saying "Restoring iPhone Software".
Phone is also on loading screen and has reached roughly 1/10 of the way then stopped.
Tried unplugging it multiple times and it ends up doing the same thing.
I just want my phone to work without having to take it in to an Apple Store.
Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Probably should have left it alone.  Sometimes it will act as though it is frozen but it is still updating.  May have to do a DFU restore.  Hope you have a backup.

  • Downloaded app to iTunes, attempted to sync to iPhone.  Stuck saying loading for past 24 hrs now.

I have downloaded Amazon: Hidden Expedition app successfully to my iTunes account. I have sync'd my iPhone several times now to my iTunes in hopes of transferring the app to my phone.  The sync completes through my phone and iTunes, the app appears on my phone and says "Loading"  but does not load.  I have removed a bunch of music files to free up room on the phone in case this was the issue, says I have 13 GB free space available.  The cord connection is fine, don't know what the problem is!!!!
    Please help!

Try resetting the phone by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15seconds to reboot.

  • Iphone is stuck on loading screen

Out of the blue my iphone 3gs just shut off. i tried rebooting it but it just stays on the apple logo screen and it appears to be loading and then it shuts off but cuts back on, on its own!

I tried that as well. And restoring it from iTunes and the charging idea from above. It still shuts off and then if and when it does power up, it has the apple screen like it's resetting. If and when I get to the home screen, it shows my battery low and shuts off again - even though I just fully charged it. What is the next step - a repair shop? Or hopefully someone has some more tips? Thanks for the original posting of the issues - this is exactly why I came here today!

  • TomTom europe v 1.9 iPhone 4 stuck at loading screen

I bought TomTom europe 1.9 on the AppStore for 90 dollars but after starting it, I only see the loading screen ( for about 49 min now!) i use an iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1
    Thanks in advance!

It is a huge amount of data.  If it's the "Western Europe" that I have, it is 1.8GB after loading, and the load will probably need at least 3GB to do the job.  I suggest a visit to a pub, or do some shopping.

  • Iphone 3gs stuck at loading screen after reset all data

I bought my iphone 3gs about an hour ago and to have my privacy i reset first the network and next i reset all my data then it restart and now its still at the loading screen about 1hr. Thank u for the help!

    Hello KylaAquino,
It sounds like you are unable to boot your iPhone successfully after performing a Reset All content and Settings. I recommend first attempting to reset the device in this manner:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
From: Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not get you booted to the setup screen, I would next try putting the phone into recovery mode, and attempting a restore with iTunes. This article will help you with that:

  • Unlocked IPhone 4 stuck on loading bar with apple logo

Pretty much what it says on the tin, I downloaded the iOS 6 update today and after downloading and installing the phone told me to plug it into my laptop where it then downloaded another update of some description, after that my IPhone 4 just stayed on the apple logo with a loading bar underneath and constantly resetting itself from time to time! Oh and my laptop no longer detects my IPhone at all! y
Any help would be super awesome

Try a Hard Reset, hold together Home and Power buttons for about 15 seconds until iPhone restarts. If  does not work connect iPhone to wall charger and then try the Hard Reset again. If still does not work, leave iPhone on wall charger for some time, maybe 20 minutes and try Hard Reset again.

  • My iphone is stuck on loading circle after erasing iphone from find my iphone

So one night i was just playing on a app and it froze, i waited about 5 mins and it was still frozen, so i turned off my iphone and from their is where all my problems started.  After waiting a long time for it to start up again my pressing my home button since my lock button is broke, i decided to look up ways on how to solve my problem.  What i found was i had to erase my phone from find my iPhone so i could restore my iphone in itunes.  Well, after erasing my iphone,, it just stayed on a black screen with the loading circle in the middle of it.  It won't connect to itunes either so i can restore it and i don't know what to do.  If you have any advice on what i should do please reply.

is it possible if my phone runs out of batter, i could plug it in and maybe the loading screen will be gone or can i really just do nothing about it

  • Iphone 5s stuck on loading screen from icloud backup restore

Just bought my phone last night and went through the setup. I selected backup from icloud and it did its thing and then restarted... now it's stuck on the loading screen with the apple logo. The loading bar is barely loaded... I figured it was because I had a lot of data to load onto the new phone. It's been 10 hours because I left it alone for the night. Please help!

Had to have my new 5s replaced last night due to the hardware issue and had the same issue with 5s and iCloud restore, just stuck on the apple screen with a partial progress bar.   I was able to kill it and get into the phone but the restore would not finish.
I realized that my back-ups were from iOS 7.0.4 and the new phone was at 7.0.3 and becuase the restore was in the never ending progress I could not install the latest version.
I wiped the device,  settings -  general -  reset erase all..    and set it up a new device WITHOUT restoring from backup.    Updated the os to iOS 7.0.4 (settings - general - software update) and let it finish all the way.
After confirming the device was at the latest iOS version I then wiped the device again, settings -  general -  reset erase all...  and set up again and selected to restore from iCloud backup.
All is good.... restore finished and life is as it should be.

  • Aperture 3.5.1 Stuck "loading assets...."

I have 164,532 items in my main Aperture library (when I click on Photos under Projects, that is what it tells me). When I connect my iPad, or iPhone for that matter, to my Mac Pro 2009 Mavericks (20GB RAM at the moment, as one of the sticks went bad), After a while it looks like it is showing all the pictures/videos on the iPad (or iPhone), when I try to import, I can select the images/videos I want to import, but nothing happens when I click the import button. "loading assets..." never stops. I can leave the iPad connected all night, nothing will change by morning. So, with my iPhone, I created an empty library, and imported all of my pictures/videos from my iPhone without any issues. Both my iPad and my iPhone (had) have over 10,000 pictures+at least 100 videos on them. Is there a fix for this? Thanks.
    Doug

Do you have the option "Do not import Duplicates" enabled? If you already imported from the Photo Steam, this option will prevent downloading again. That you could import into a  new, empty library suggests that either the library needs repairing or you already are having imported these photos earlier, perhaps from the Photo Stream.
If yu cannot access the Import setting, try the following: Open the "Activity Viewer" before importing. When you are seeing Aperture stuck on "Loading Assets", try to select that line in the Activity window. If possible, press "Cancel task".
In any case, repair your Aperture library after the force quit.
Aperture 3 User Manual: Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library
Your Aperture library may have become corrupted, so that the Import dialog cannot access the database files inside.
