3,0ghz to 3,81ghz and no diference

I have oc't my 3ghz P4 to 3.8gghz and I notice no diference in gaming and 3dmark.
The task manager also shows the same amount of cpu used when I'm doing diferent things.
My temps are also the same as not oc't:

  • Same application and deploy diferents versions

    Sirs;
    What i'm trying to do , i'm quite sure most of you have passed some hours on it;
    We have here an application what we want to separate it in 2 versions, lets say enterprise and standard;
As expected all components (uix files , bc4j modules views and entities ) that standard version must contain are part of enterprise version.
There are some way to not duplicate commons files and classes and just creating deployment specific files for both of then, like web.xml and struts-config.xml.
What about application's module data model ? there are some chances to reduce it to serve standard version and increase it to enterprise ?
    Thanks
    Marcos Ortega

Alternatively, why not actually reference Oracle official documentation or post in their forums (because as Torsten said, this really has nothing to do with ConfigMgr or Microsoft even).
http://java.com/en/download/help/msi_install.xml looks to be a great place to start.

  • Problem MacBook and BenQ Projector

    Hi everyone.
Hopefully someone can help me with this. I just bought a MacBook 2.0Ghz 2 Gig RAM and I tried to have it work with a BENQ PB2140 projector that I have. I used a mini-DVI to S-Video adapter (from Apple) to connect both, uisng the S-video port of the projector. Unfortunately, the screen always flicker, sometimes just a few lines at a times, sometimes much worst. I tried all resolutions and scan rates (50 and 60), etc. I just managed to make it work once, after much trial and error. Of course, upon restart (to make sure that I could duplicate my success) the problem came back and I was never able to fix it. As I wanted to use the MacBook (otherwise a stellar machine: my best notebook ever) to make presentations to clients on the road, I am a bit frustrated and could use some help here guys...Thanks in advance.
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2.0 Ghz, 2 G RAM
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2.0 Ghz, 2 G RAM

If you have used this projector with another computer
before, is there any clue from those settings?
I have used the Apple adapter to run S-video into a
high definition TV. As I recall, I bumped the
resolution up from whatever it initially defaulted to
    (800 x 600?) to the highest it would allow (1024 x
    768).
Is NTSC versus PAL an issue? That's on the Color tab
    in Display settings.
Thanks for the reply. I know the BENQ works great with the S-Video port of a Toshiba Satellite A70 that I would like to sell to keep only the MacBook I will check into the NTSC and PAL thing but I think I already fiddled with that. Ans yes I believe that the highest resolution the BENQ takes is 1024 by 768.

  • Poor performance and overheat

    Story
I've been using arch for the past four months, dual booting with my old Windows XP. As I'm very fond of Flash games and make my own programs with a cross-platform language, I've found few problems with the migration. One of them was the Adobe Flash Player performance, which was stunningly bad. But everyone was saying that was normal, so I left it as is.
However, one special error always worried me: a seemingly randomly started siren sound coming from the motherboard speaker. Thinking it was a alarm about some fatal kernel error, I had been solving it mostly with reboots.
But then it happened. While playing a graphics intensive game on Windows quickly after rebooting from Arch, the same siren sound started. It felt like a slap across the face: it was not a kernel error, it was an motherboard overheat alarm.
    The Problem
Since the computer was giving overheat signs, I started looking at things from another angle. I noticed that some tasks take unusually long times in Arch (i.e.: building things from source; Firefox / OpenOffice startup; any graphics intensive program), specially from the Flash Player.
A great example is the game Penguinz, that runs flawlessly in Windows but is unbearably slow in Arch. So slow that it alone caused said overheat twice. And trying to record another flash game's record using XVidCap things went so bad that the game halved the FPS and started ignoring key presses.
    Tech Info
    Dual Core 3.2 processor
    1 gb RAM
256 mb Geforce FX 5500 video card
    Running Openbox
    Using proprietary NVIDIA driver
TL;DR: poor performance on some tasks. Flash Player is so slow that overheats CPU and makes me cry. It's fine on Windows.
Off the top of my head I can think up some reasons: bad video driver, unwanted background application messing up, known Flash Player performance problems and Actionscript Linux/Arch-only bug.
Where do you think is the problem?

jwcxz wrote:Have you looked at your process table for any program with abnormal CPU usage?  That seems like the logical place to start.  You shouldn't be getting poor performance in anything with that system.  I have a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo and an Intel GMA 965 and I've never had any problems with Flash.  It's much better than it used to be.
Pidgin scared me for a while because it froze for no apparent reason. After fixing this, the table contains this two guys here:
    %CPU
    Firefox: 80%~100%
    X: 0~20%
Graphic intensive test, so I think the X usage is normal. It might be some oddity at the Firefox+Linux+Flash sum, maybe a conflict. I'll try another browser.
    EDIT:
Did a Javascript benchmark to test both systems and browsers.
    Windows XP + Firefox = 4361.4ms
    Arch + Firefox = 5146.0ms
So, it's actually a lot slower without even taking Flash into account. If someone knows a platform-independent benchmark to test both systems completely, and not only the browser, feel free to point out.
I think that something is already wrong here and the lack of power saving systems only aggravated the problem, causing overheat.
    EDIT2:
Browser performance fixed: migrated to Midori. Flash stills slower than on Windows, but now it's bearable. Pretty neat browser too, goes better with the Arch Way. It shouldn't fix the temperature, however.
Applied B's idea, but didn't test yet. I'm not into the mood of playing flash games for two straight hours today.

  • Poor performance and voltage fluctuation.

I'm running two 280x in crossfire which I upgraded from two 6970's.   When I'm playing DayZ my FPS never go above 30 FPS.  With my 6970's I was well into the 70's.  I never changed my video settings when I went from the 6970's to the 280X's.   For the most part I have a lot of the graphics low or disabled.   Borderlands 2 is a nightmare on the 280X.  I drop down into 10 fps area and this has never happened with on my 6970's.
During games my core voltage fluctuates between 500mhz and 1020mhz during game play.  I have ULPS disable as well.
My power supply is an Antec HCG-900.
Happened on all these drivers 14.4, 14.6 Beta, and 14.6 RC (currently installed).

  • Aperture won't run on my new 2.0GHz MacBook Pro

I'd been using Aperture on a Powerbook G4 1.25GHz with 1Gb RAM. It did some things slowly, but otherwise it worked very well.
Imagine my surprise when I loaded it onto my new MacBook Pro 2.0GHz with 1Gb RAM, and tried to open it and got a message that this computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run Aperture!
Do I need to do something special when installing it?
Other apps that run under Rosetta, like Illustrator CS2, start up pretty slowly on the MBP, but at least they run.
    Thanks for any help.

Out of interest - how do intend to cope with storage with this type of machine? There are currently no new card slot SATA or Firewire 800 adapters available and given that backup operations are going to be slow (minimum impact) or in the event of big library you will be hampered by the lack of fast external disk support (far more serious) to actually use your library!
I have found running different libraries on portable and desktop far too complicated and I wonder apart from the hardware considerations how people handle this situation.

I bought a new macbook pro 15 inch i7 2.0GHz 2 month ago and I installed Windows x64 on Bootcamp. I have no DVD driver from Apple because my Macbook is refurbished. I hope you have found drivers for wifi, sound and bluetooth. I have installed a driver for wifi found on Broadcom BCM43xx but no results, no connection was found.
I hop you can help me
Sorry for my english, I'm french

Please read the BootCamp Install Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/fr_FR/boot_camp_install-setup_10.7_f.pdf
With OSX 10.7 Lion there are no longer any OSX DVDs but instead the BootCamp Assistant allows the download of the "Windows Support Software" which are in fact the needed Windows drivers.

  • MSI p7n Platinum and E2160 Overclock

This is my first build and I'm trying to get my CPU overclocked to 3.0ghz.
I've read that the e2160 is capable of 3.0Ghz with stock cooling and voltages. I cannot get mine higher then 2.4 Ghz. I am new so haven't tried anything other then changing the FSB to 1066/1200/1333. 1066 Seems stable, but I could not get a boot with either 1200 or 1333. I tried raising the voltage 1 notch but still no boot at either of the higher speeds. I've read that lowering the multiplier may help, or increasing the voltage more may help, but I dont want to screw anything up so I thought I would come here for some advice before proceeding.
Ive disabled Spread Spectrum, EIST, I cannot find an option to disable C1E (maybe its the old version of EIST??) I'm not sure what other Bios settings need to be enabled or disabled.
The board never read my RAM correctly, I had to change the speeds and timing manually to get it to 1066, I copied someone elses settings to get it to 1125 (5-5-5-15 2t) as they claimed it to be Rock solid stable. Which appears to be correct, although I havent used anything except 4hours of COD4 maxxed out at 1440x900 to test it....(no issues). CPU-Z reads my timings at 533.4Mhz, FSB:DRAM 1:2, 5-5-5-15, tRc:22, 2t@ 2.10v(have no idea if that is fast but I dont think so). The SPD tab reads the memory as PC2-5300, but populates with a part number of OCZ2N10661G. Im not sure if this is a problem, but I thought Id put it out there, just in case.
I'm totally noob about the power supply, which is why I posted all the specs from the label in my sig. I realize it is probably worthless for a Q6600 with 2 8800GT 512 in SLI, but it came with my XION DAZL case and the price was the key to keeping my current system in the budget. I thought it would be good enough to run at least 1 8800 with an  e2160 and I could upgrade later (when I finish my system) if need be. I may have not connected the PSU properly as I just matched up the plugs, and stuck the fans in line with the dvd drive, so I wouldnt have to connect anything to the plugs for the graphic card, except the graphics card itself. Do I need to change my connections, and will this power supply work with 8800GT's in SLI with a Q6600?

So to get 3.0Ghz?? 333x9 = 1333mhz in bios with my OCZ1066 platinum running at 667mhz.
I load default settings in bios, then disable EIST, DOT and spread spectrum (still cant find C1E) enable smartfan to (im guessing here) 45C and 85% fan?
I manually set the ram to 667 then select linked in bios, and take 50 mhz jumps from the CPU stock speed.
Test it for stability by booting to windows, run Prime 95? for 30 minutes, and then repeat until I hopefully hit the target speed.
If i run into stability problems then I raise VTT voltage 1-2 notches and test, Then NB 1 notch and test, Then mem voltage 1-2 notches and test. If still unstable then Im at a wall/hole and should set voltages to last known stable voltages and jump 10 mhz at a time to see if it gets stable at higher speeds?? When I max out then I can tighten up my ram timings and try to lower voltages to reduce heat and increase performance. CPU-Z SPD tab reads JEDEC#3 @ 333mhz 5-5-5-19 @1.8v, is this the timings I need to start with for that setup?
I need to watch my core temps during all of this, Im unsure of what my max temps are with this CPU, there are 2 E2160's listed on intel's sight. CPU-Z says I have the M0 version (knowing my luck this is the inferior one) Intel lists max temps at 73c and 61C Im not sure which is mine, but no smoke came out at 65C under COD4 load, although it was only there about 5 minutes before I noticed and backed it down.
    What I need to know:
What else if anything needs to be enabled/disabled in bios ver. 1.1?
Do I manually set the ram in bios to 667 to attempt a 1:1 ratio at 3.0ghz with this hardware? (I have ram set at 1066 now with a CPU speed of 2700.)
What is a good target for smartfan?
Are 50 mhz jumps OK when overclocking?
What stability test should I run while overclocking and how long, before I increase my clock again?
How do I detect a hole vs a wall while overclocking?
When raising voltages is there an order that needs to be followed ex. CPU, Nb, mem to achieve stability?
What target temps should I look for with stock cooling on this CPU 40/60?
I realize I am asking a lot, that is why I posted what i thought was correct and really just need someone to look it over and make sure Im on the right track and point out any flaws in my thinking.

  • ODS and cube data

    Hi All,
Please let me know the difference between ODS and Cube practically with a simple example.  I red and know diferences but I did't get the concept.
    1. What detail level reporting. How ODS supports this and not in Cube?
2 .When we go for ODS(daily/latest info)  and Cube(monthly/ aggreated info )?

  • WLC with 2 WLANs, 1 voice @ 2.4GHz and 1 data @ 5GHz 802.11n

I have a WLC 4400 series and am using 1142n APs.  Am planning on adding Wireless IP Phones such as 7921/7925 as well as a couple 9971's.  Is it possible to have 2 WLANs, one to connect the voice endpoints to running @ 2.4GHz and another WLAN with a different SSID for data clients @ 5GHz?  All data clients have 802.11n NICs and can operate @ 5GHz.  I have enough APs so that the lessened range of 5GHz won't pose any issues.  Ideally I'd like to see connection rates in the 240mbps-300mbps range on the data clients with data throughput rates of 100mbps+ (I don't think this ought to be an issue, I'm aware that wireless is half-duplex and that connection rates do not necessarily indicate actual throughput rates).  I am also NOT a wireless expert.  I'm still fairly new to working with the WLC and the managed APs as such.
The reason for 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously is that the voice endpoints are all 2.4GHz radios, I believe 802.11b/g.  I also want to keep voice clients separate.  This way, I believe I can optimize one WLAN for data clients without having them "suffer" so to speak by having to operate at a lower level as the voice clients.  Also, I want the voice separate for quality there (separate voice VLAN).  If I am correct, 802.11n data rates can also be achieved @ 2.4GHz, but only using the 20MHz as opposed to 40MHz width.  So I'd like one WLAN to be 2.4GHz, 20MHz (voice) and the other WLAN 5GHz, 40MHz (data).
I'd like to hav both WLANs broadcasted from all the APs simultaneously.  Am I correct that such a configuration is possible with the WLC 4400 series and Aironet 1142n APs?  WLC is running 7.0.240 btw, current stable.  I'm also starting with a clean config on the WLC.  All DHCP will be handled by an external DHCP server also.  Thank you very much for any suggestions/guidance on this.  Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!
I'll be happ to supply any config information to assist with this, just let me know what is desired/useful.

Thank you for your prompt response.  I only have 1 WLC, it is a 4402-50.  I believe that 7.0.240 is the most current release for that model.  I think anything higher I need to go to the WLC5508 (or vWLC?)
Also, I wasn't aware that the 7921/25 were 5GHz, since they are both 802.11g.  Thank you for the information.
If I understand you correctly, I'm best creating 2 WLANs, but both at 5.0GHz for both data and voice?
Also, sorry to confuse the issue further, but I was thinking about this after writing the original post, I'd like to also have a "guest" WLAN that supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz for maximum client compatibility (as I have no way of knowing what tpye of WLAN NIC would be in guest devices).  Am I correct in assuming that I would create a separate WLAN for all these, including a separate SSID.
The part that is confusing me some now is the "AP Groups".  Do I leave a single "Default-group" and create multiple WLANs with that.  If I'm correct, this way I can push the WLANs and SSIDs out through all the WAPs in that group.  I want these WLANs to be available from any AP in the organization, not have some APs for one WLAN, other APs for another WLAN, etc.

  • ICal and Address Book not launching after OS? X Lion Install

I am running a late 2008 MacBook 2.0GHZ Dual Core Mac and have just upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard.
Everything is working fine except when I try to open either iCal or Address Book it is telling me that their is an error and asks me to report it to Apple.
Apparently these are 2 of the most changed core apps on Lion, yet I cant even open them yet
    What can I do?

If you're trying to start the applications from the Dock, try starting them from the Applications folder.
Sometimes folks have relocated the previous applications outside of the Applications folder where they will not be replaced by the Lion install.

  • Anyone get the 2.0Ghz Macbook?

Everyone seems to be talking about the higher spec 2.4Ghz Macbook - did anyone get the 2.0Ghz version and are they happy with it? Is the lack of backlit keyboard and .4Ghz an issue for anyone?
    Nick

    Hello,
I purchased the 2.0GHz MacBook on Tuesday and after getting it home and the lighting conditions I am in; I found it extremely difficult to see the keys on the keyboard. I decided to get the 2.0 because I did not want to spend the extra money on the lighted keyboard but after exchanging it today for the $1599 model, I am much happier now then ever!
I have noticed no performance upgrades going from 2.0 to 2.4 but the lighted keyboard for my situation is awesome!
This is an upgrade from the previous white MacBook and I never thought in a million years I would need the lighted keyboard but it is difficult with the black keys.
Personally, I would see where you are going to be using the new computer. If you are like me and like to have it on when you are watching a movie, I would get the lighted keyboard model but if you are going to have it on a desk and will pretty much always have lights available, I would get the 2.0GHz version.
Much to my surprise, The manager at the Apple store was very nice and waived the restocking fee for me.

  • Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz enough for HD

I'm somewhat banging my head against a wall here...
I have a media PC hooked up to my HT, it's a Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAM, and a GeForce GT 220 in it.
My laptop has a i3, 2.13GHz, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and onboard graphics.
Both are wired to my main PC with all my files.
I can stream a 20GB mkv file to the laptop without any problems, but the media PC lags to all heck and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.
Transfer speeds are approx the same at about 40MB/s.
    Ideas?

Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

Well, now a new interesting issue has crept up.
Just so you know what I'm dealing with, here's my specs:
    ASUS P6TDelux vs mobo
    Intel Core i7-930 2.8GHz
    12GB GSkill DDR3 1333MHz RAM
    PNY GeForce GTX 470
    OS : OCZ 60GB SSD
    Data : 2x1TB in RAID 0
Now, with all that beef, this is a weird issue. Even SD movies are.... not buffering wrong, just, the framerate seems low. As if.... the HDD can't keep up or something. It's not having issues buffering. I have the brand new drivers from nVidia.
I'm kinda pulling out hairs on this.
