3.1.2 Has Ruined my Wifi
When i first got my 3GS i had a problem with wifi where after about 10mins it would need to be reset (either renew lease or disconnect and reconnect) That was with OS 3.0.1
Then when 3.1 was released this appeared to have been fixed and i didn't have any problems with it, at all, ever!
Now i have had 3.1.2 since the release and the problem is back, worse than originally.
If anyone could let me know if they are suffering from the same fault, please don't respond with 'update your routers firmware' this is not clearly issue, i have tested this on numerous routers
I'm kind of skeptical that an iPhone can "ruin" your WiFi base station. Are you saying that when you turn on your iPhone and connect, it breaks all other WiFi connections with other devices? Or are you saying that just the iPhone cannot maintain a stable connection with any WiFi station?
If it's the former, then it really is your router, and it needs to be upgraded or fixed. If it's the latter, then there is some other issue with your phone. You might want to go to an Apple Store and see what can be done. You might have some odd hardware problem that is keeping it from staying connected.

I have also experienced issues with my iphone5 since updating to ios 7.1.2, prior to this update my phone was working perfectly fine and I know I didnt cause any damage to the phone because I baby my iphone as if it was my child. Ever since I updated to 7.1.2 my phone shutts itself down while I am using it, it can be while using whatsapp, browsing the internet or using apps, more than anything it fails while using the internet. The screen will either start to flicker or vertical lines will pop up and then the phone will fade to black, after this happens the phone will get really hot and to turn it back on I have to wait 5-10 minutes and hold down the power and home keys at the same time for about 15 seconds for it to turn back on, I have to wait 5-10 minutes because if I dont when I boot it back up it immediately shutts down again. This is a constant all day thing and for now i get by just making phone calls and sending regular text but I try to keep the action down to a minimum to prevent missing a phone call. I tried clearing the phone and rebooting it to original setting but this didnt fix it. After reading and speaking with several techs they tell me that ios 7.1.2 rolled out some performance adjustments one particular that affects the amp levels that the battery works at and supposedly the iphone 5 cant handle it, they explained that the phone for certain activities is asking for more or less power and the phone panics into safe mode and shutts itself down. My battery life is fine so I havent changed the battery like someone had suggested. In the diagnostic data it gives a panic.ips error. Id really like to know if there is any possible way to roll back to 7.1.1 through jailbreak or any other way, I was perfectly happy with this phone and didnt plan on buying another one for atleast 1-2 more years. If anyone can help me out this would be greatly appreciated, if not I hope apple is working to fix this.

I have exclamation marks at the beginning of the titles which has ruined my playlist as it doesn't function as it should. I was downloading music when a scan started which I then cancelled as it was slowing down my download. Ever since then I've had these exclamation marks and now these tunes are not transferrable and I've lost them in my music file on the ipod nano and so cannot reload them again. Anyone know how to remove the !!!'s or clean my files?
You get exclamation marks or dead tracks because iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed..
Usually the actual music files are still there, so you need to check to see if you can find them.
If they are there, open iTunes and select a problem track, right click and select Get Info.
Answer NO when asked if you want to locate the track.
Now you should see where iTunes thinks the tack is located on the summary tab, how does this compare with where the track actually is.
This info should help work out what has gone wrong. -

I had to download firefox in order to access school resources. I opted to perform the advanced setup as there are a few features I didnt want. I specified in the setup that i didnt want any toolbars. basically, i opted out of everything except for the installation itself. Now that firefox has been installed, I not only have toolbars, even in other browsers, which i specifically unchecked during the installation, but they are impossible to remove. I have tried toolbar options. The option to remove doesnt exist. I have tried to uninstall the toolbar. Again, not possible. In addition, I now have popups every time I do ANYTHING on the internet. Even when not using firefox. And in addition to THAT, my computer has slowed to a dead crawl. Even when i uninstall firefox, all the terrible features remain! This browser has ruined my computer. And ironically, the toolbar I never wanted ALWAYS has an advertisement for "clean up your computer" or "Repair CP issues" or "speed up your computer" and etc. So, what now?
Looks like your computer was infected by a virus, and unless it targeted an security gap in the browser, that has nothing to do with firefox.
Your best bet would be to run some malware scans. Malwarebytes is great. -
Finally got round to buying an iPhone 4, really excellent to start with. The sharing of music from my Mac Mini was excellent. ios6 update has ruined all that! The artist view miss's out most of my music and the sharing sometimes doesn't work at all!
How do I get this feature working again? I am reluctant to move to iTunes 10.7 because I don't trust Apple at the moment.My suggestion:
1) Always using MAC AIR with the power plug in.
2)Don' let the power level of battory fall under 30% percentage.
3)If the MAC can't be recharged now, just let it be with power plugged, WAIT... -

Download of update in Mountain Lion has disabled my Wifi. Why
For at least the third time, I have downloaded an update to Mountain Lion and it has disabled my wifi! Why? Can anyone help?
The pop up saying there were updates to my OS (Mountain Lion) available and I chose the Update button which restarted my MacBook. When it restarted, it would no longer connect to the Wifi. When I went to Network Preferences, the Wifi is turned off and will not allow me to turn back on. Additionally, the device does not recognize any networks and just continues to "search" for them.
This is the 3rd time this has happened to me when downloading updates to the OS! Every other time has required support to get involved. I am wondering how many other people this has happened to? -

Kinda wish I hadn't upgraded to this software as I need my pad working for uni.

I've noticed that lots of people are having problems with the latest version of Quicktime. I too installed this via the Software Update option only yesterday and since then it has ruined any sites that I view with Safari, my prefered browser, but strangely not with Mozilla. I seem to get a lot of that irritating "Q" logo with a question mark super-imposed over it. Can anybody help please?
Please use the "Search Discussions" feature (upper right of this page) to learn how to fix your install of QuickTime.
Since QuickTime works as it should in a different browser proves nothing is wrong with it. Only your settings need some adjustments. -
Has anyone had WiFi connectivity issues at home with their iPhone 5 after accepting the recent IOS 8.0.2 update?
Yes, despite being it an iPhone5 (8.0.2) attempting to connect to an Airport Express.
In my case the iPhone "connects" to Airport Express 2nd generation, but no Internet packages are available; Airport Utility shows the Airport Express as not connected to the Internet; but the iMac, MBP, Motorola phone, Samsung Smart TV and HP printer connect without any trouble.
The actual issue is the DHCP :
sometimes the iPhone gets none, and
when an address is assigned it just doesn't work,
even renewing the address won't work all the times,
switching off and on the WiFi won't work all the times neither,
going on Airplane mode, then back won't work all the times.
Solutions attempted and failed:
Reseting and reconfiguring Airport Express;
Reseting iPhone;
Switching off and on the iPhone;
Setup the DHCP renewal for every 5 days;
Meditation and stark visualisation;
Other possible patch not yet attempted : setting fixed IP addresses
All suggestions received resemble Windows' "Plug & Pray"
I gave up after reading several notes around the WWW complaining about it.
Last credible suggestion : wait for 8.0.3 or 8.1, whichever fixes the issue first. -
