3.1.3 software update has made my iPod stop working correctly

I have a 2nd generation 16 GB iPod touch. I purchased the 3.1 update when it came out. I had some problems with my iPod after that update, but these problems were resolved when the next update came out (3.1.2 I think). Last week I did the next iPod update-3.1.3. Now my iPod is worse than before. My movies and podcasts won't download from my iTunes library, sometimes when I sync my iPod, it appears there is no music or anything on it (which was what happened after the first update). However when I go into "Settings", it says it has no songs, but all the capacity is all used up. I have to go back in to sync again, but i might have to do this 3 or 4 times before it puts my songs back on my iPod. I'd like to know how to uninstall the last update i did and just go back to the 3.1.2 version. Or if anyone knows what I should do please let me know. Please.....this is so aggravating. I wish I had never done this last update!

Just plug it into your computer and restore it through iTunes. You can try restore from backup first and, if the problems go away, then you are done. If not, restore again and select restore as new. You can resync all of your content when done.

                 I'm not sure I have the answers to all your questions. Although I use Photoshop and Lightroom extensively, I'm not a 'techy'.
    My system;
    Packard bell imedia S2885
    1TB hard drive
    500G RAM
    Windows 8.1   64- bit
    Intel core i5 4440
    If I open Photoshop cc14 without opening any image, I still get an error message that reads: 'Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware'.
    There is also a link to the Adobe help site, but I'm not sure exactly what I should be downloading from there.

    I have a powerbook G4 - DVI running 10.3.9. After I have installed Software Update 2007-003, when my computer goes to sleep and then wakes up, airport card stops working. I had to open the back of the computer, unplug and plug the airport card, then it starts working again. But next time the computer goes to sleep, it stops working again.
    Does anyone have a similar problem? Any work arounds?

    Installing the Security update 1.0.1 from 5/01/2007 helped others. Reapplying the Combo Update again helped a couple of people.

  • Mac 10.5.7 update has made golive 9 stop rendering css in layout view

    Has any one else on Mac with the mac 10.5.7 update have new issues with golive 9 not rendering css in layout view. It works still in pdf preview and if I boot to 10.5.6 all is normal again. Also in the live rendering engine it works as well...just not in layout view- its very disconcerting. Any workarounds? anyone else with this issue?

    Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. You mean it shows your text in the default and *then* renders it correctly using the CSS after a delay?
    I tried torching the prefs...perhaps I did the wrong file...what file is to be deleted?

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.Adobe.GoLive.plist
    Move them out to, say, the Desktop. If they are not the cause of the problem, put them back replacing the newly-created versions.
    I cloned my os prior to the update and all was fine. Rebooting to clone
    css renders normal...but in 10.5.7 its not rendering in layout view.
    I'm not seeing the same thing here with GL9/OS X 10.5.7, so it may be its something specific to your particular update. You might also want to consider doing a re-import of the site to recreate the site file and see if that helps.

    It will not download if you already have it.
    Just to be 100% clear …
    Look in /Applications for "Install OS X Mavericks"
    Use the Finders Go menu > Applications. To open it.
    You may have an Applications folder in your Home directory too, it shouldn't be in there but it is possible.
    Also try Spotlight to see if it can find that filename.
    Can you also tell us what system you have?
    Apple menu > About this Mac > more info button… What is the Model (under the Overview tab).
    10.9 doesn't install on all systems, so it could explain why you can't get it, however it usually displays a dialog stating that fact.

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

    Software Update has broken my system so that I can no longer restart or shutdown normally. All attempts to restart or shutdown hang the system with a grey screen and a Software Update menu on the menu bar. The menus can be pulled down, but the menu items, like "restart", are not functional. I have to use the control/command/power keys to force a restart, and then command-R after the chime to get to a screen where I can shutdown.
    I have just done a complete reinstall of the operating system (10.7.5), with no change in this behavior. I have also tried to do a manual installation of the latest security update, but after hitting the restart button, the same Software Update screen appears whether I have actually used Software Update or not. How do I go about nudging my system out of this behavior?

    The startup disk may need repairing.
    Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
    Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
    Click:  Verify Disk
    If repairs are necessary, restart while holding down the Command + R keys so you can access ML recovery / Disk Utility. OS X: About OS X Recovery
    If the startup disk does not need repairing, start up in Safe Mode
    Keep in mind a Safe Mode boot takes longer than a normal boot so be patient. When you're in Safe Mode you should see Safe Mode in red top right side of the desktop.
    From there click the Apple menu icon top left in the screen. Select Restart from the drop down menu.

    Update2: There is something very wrong with wireless on mountain lion recovery. I don't know what the problem is, but this link may explain:

    Wireless recovery would start out with over 25 hours estimated and kept on failing. It turns out to be a two step process of downloading a few Mbytes then a 4Gbyte .dmg file, but I couldn't even download the Mbyte file. I bought the thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet adapter, plugged it in, restarted recovery and download of a little more than 4Gbytes took less than an hour. My limiting factor was probably comcast home internet rate of 12Mbps. The wi-fi wireless connection should be able to do over 100Mbps, so wireless shouldn't be much slower than wired, except wi-fi wireless is broken. Now that ML is installed and updated, wi-fi seems fine now, as I am using it right now, but I haven't tried downloading a big file yet.
    Don't use wi-fi wireless for Mountain Lion recovery.

    The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 on your iPad then you can only update via your computer's iTunes, as described half-way down the page that you posted from.
    To update via a computer, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes and selecting 'Backup' (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC)

    Hopefully it's been resolved by now - I have no idea how large each one of those files are. The progress bar tells you; FWIW, I only download one at a time - makes it easier and faster and you can choose to do the next one when you have time.

    This has been going on for a couple of months now. The FAQ suggests deleting the Temp directory, but I can't do that because there's a file in there which I can't delete - FXSAPIDebugLogFile.txt.

    There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
    One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes.  You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
    Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update.  I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
    Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.
