3.1 firmware pioneer avh-p5900 head unit

Since upgrading to 3.1 my iphone will not work on my pioneer head unit giving me error 22 I connect in normal way using the ipod connector cable, if you use any lower firmware this works. Any clues how to get round this issue ?

You can get the Bluetooth Audio streaming working? I can't get that to sync up properly. sigh ...
I called Apple and they documented everything for me ... Case # 140385552
If you can do a test call for me that would be amazing! Just keep talking ... you should be able to hear the audio compression problem (and so should the person you're talking to) ...
Glad to hear there's someone out there who has the same deck as I do.
Also find out if your callers hear your alternator whine when you drive ---
I get that problem too but that's wiring / deck related. A ferrite core should solve it but I can't be bothered at the moment.
You using the usb cable at all or using bluetooth to stream?
I'm using the USB cable. I can get the audio to pause and play using USB cable.
Again, I'm unsuccessful with the BT Audio Streaming part.

Hi guys i have my bluetooth working for making/accpeting calls, but cannot figure out how to stream music from my iphoone to my headunit using the bluetooth, i wonder if any one can help me out

    Hello, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
At this current time iphone does not support stereo bluetooth. It supports a hands free profile. More information below.
You can however purchase a stereo bluetooth headset that is sold with a audio connector dongle that connects to the audio jack port on the iPhone. This will then allow you to listen to music via Stereo Bluetooth going through that dongle.

  • IPod Touch no longer compatible with Pioneer head unit?

Recently installed the newest iTouch software. Before the update I had no issues playing songs from my ipod through my car CD player via usb. Pioneer Premier DEH-P400UB is the model I am using.
Now that I have installed the update, when I plug the ipod in the CD player displays "NO MUSIC." The ipod reads "accessory attached," as it always has.
Anyone else have this issue with their head units? Any brand.

I am so frustrated. I have a Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD and my i-pod touch worked pretty much perfectly with it until I clicked to update the OS to 4.1. Now it is a disaster, slow screen changes, constantly cutting out music. What a joke. My stereo and i-pod are basically useless now thanks to that idiotic 4.1 "upgrade". What is Apple doing putting some buggy piece of crap update out there that basically ruins your i-pod touch? Geez.

  • TRANSFERRING PHONEBOOK TO PIONEER HEAD UNIT

Just purchased a new Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD automobile head unit, and I have synched the my iPhone 3G, but I'm having problems transferring my phone's "contact information" to the head unit. Without access to the iPhone's phonebook, it's really annoying (to say nothing of dangerous) to have to peck numbers into the screen while driving.
The Pioneer unit recognizes the iPhone and will receive calls, but it doesn't have a specific way to import the iPhone's stored numbers. In the "function menu," the Pioneer unit has an import phonebook option, but you push a button that says "start," (which puts the Pioneer unit on "standby"), and then you're instructed, "Perform phonebook transfer using the cellular phone -- refer to cellular phone for instructions."
I haven't been able to find iPhone instructions that tell me how to transfer my phone contact information.
    Any help would be appreciated!

I hope I have the facts correct here...Apparently, Pioneer's newer Premier DEH-P710BT head unit (May 2009 release) and a sister, consumer model, the DEH 7100BT, will support file transfers to the iPhone, according to a Pioneer support technician to whom I spoke. Pio's AVH models (with DVD players) don't have built-in Bluetooth -- instead they use an external BT adapter, the CD-BTB200 (which costs about $179). I think this is may be even older adapter that has been available since early 2008.
I was told the DEH-P710BT/7100BT models (or any models with built-in BT adapter) use the Bluetooth PBAP profile for file transfers and that this is the only file-transfer profile currently supported by the iPhone. Apparently, Pio's add-on CD-BTB200 only supports the Bluetooth OPP profile. To refresh our memories:
    Object Push Profile (OPP)
A basic profile for sending "objects" such as pictures, virtual business cards, or appointment details. It is called push because the transfers are always instigated by the sender (client), not the receiver (server). OPP uses the APIs of OBEX profile and the OBEX operations which are used in OPP are connect, disconnect, put, get and abort. By using these APIs the OPP layer will reside over OBEX and hence follow the specifications of the Bluetooth stack.
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP, PBA)
This profile allows exchange of Phone Book Objects between devices. It is likely to be used between a car kit and a mobile phone to allow the car kit to display the name of the incoming caller.
I tested the iPhone/Bluetooth connection on an older, Pio DEH-P700BT head unit still in the store and even it worked flawlessly (and sounded great) in a very limited, two-minute test. But the bigger issue I uncovered is this:
While these otherwise terrific, new Pioneer car head units have iPhone-compatible Bluetooth adapters (built-in or external), they only support the transfer of 400 contacts and 3600 phone numbers to the head unit...Here at our home office, our two laptops and iPhones each have Address Books with over 2,500 contact names, and perhaps 8,000 (or more) numbers. I think Pioneer's short-sighted, Bluetooth storage limitation creates a problem for business users with large Contact lists. With more contacts, I assume you have to constantly switch back and forth between head unit control and direct iPod control to place calls through their Bluetooth system, though admittedly, I don't really know. It's a bit difficult to foresee how this silly limitation manifests itself in daily use.
At worst, it could make for a quirky dialing flow when using Pioneer's Bluetooth, especially if you have to disconnect from the head unit to manually dial any contact of above number 401 on the list to dial directly from the phone interface. At best, it introduces unpredictable operational questions when considering these devices.
Ideally, Pioneer, and all Bluetooth manufacturers, need to use user-upgradable Bluetooth Flash storage cards or provide sufficient storage so that this isn't a problem for advanced users. A limit of 400 mobile contacts is so last century. Then again, I've also heard the Bluetooth 2.0 file-transfer process is still very slow with these (and other) head units (which is why Bluetooth 3.0 will become important).
I would appreciate hearing thoughts from others on this issue. I'm trying to ascertain if it's better to purchase a had unit with an more expensive external Bluetooth. At least you could (theoretically) upgrade it in a year, if Pioneer ever introduce a Bluetooth module with greater storage capacity. This probably isn't the case with the built-in Bluetooth modules in the new 7100BT/710BT models.

  • 4.1 update on 3GS causes music to jump/skip on Pioneer head unit

    Hi.
Regrettably I updated to iOS 4.1 before leaving on a 4 week trip.
Not good as now when it's plugged into my Pioneer head unit using USB the iPod feature is unusable.
It skips and pauses in about 5sec bursts of music.
I'm staring down the barrel of 8000 km & 4 weeks with no music!
Not good Apple. You need to fix this asap!
Now my phone is just a phone. Not good enough at all.
    Dave

I too am suffering greatly with my beloved ipod 64. It has always had minor skipping that seems to come and go when connected to my Pioneer avh-4100dvd. I never thought to blame updates for the problem as I use the travel van just once or twice a month the Pioneer is in. Recently I told my Audio installer the Pioneer needs fixing or I'm ready to junk it but if it's a os bug what are we supposed to do?

  • In need of help badly (Pioneer Head Unit)

    Hi All,
Recently got an AVIC-D3 head unit and a CD-I200 ipod cable with a 160 GB Ipod classic. I've been experiencing something weird - when listening to music it will eventually freeze the track title and duration display - ie :50/3:00 or whatever the time is, the song title and the bar all freeze. I can hit next/previous track and it changes the title, but the time still stays at the last song. This happens without fail each time I use after about 5 minutes of use. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Pioneer says it's Apple, Apple says it's Pioneer, Stereo dealer say's it's my ipod... I love fingerpointing

I also have found the same problem as most of you have reported. I just got a new Nano and the video does not work with my AVIC D3 either. I have a friend at Apple tech support and he tracked down some info on the problem. Apparently the new generation of ipods have a different video out cable that is available from Apple, they have gone to a composite output so the IP200 cable will not work for video. I guess unless Pioneer redesigns their cable to work with composite video we are out of luck!

  • Will iTunes Match sync iTunes tags from car head units?

I have a pioneer avh-x8500 bhs.. It does iTunes tagging from hd radio and from siriusxm.. Supposedly creates a "tagged playlist folder" but I can't see it.. Is this because I use match?

You should check with the head unit manufacturer; they can most likely answer your question.

  • Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD Compatibility Issue with iPhone 5

I have a Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD double-din receiver in my truck, that I've had for 2+ years now and shortly after I purchased it, T-Mobile finally started selling iPhones on their network, so I bought an iPhone 5. Well as many know, they're said to be compatible, and I can say, for at least a year and a half I never had any compatibility issues until recently.
After the iPhone 6 & 6 plus, as well as the iOS 8 launching, about 2 months later I realized that the constant unnecessary updates started taking away the compatibility between my head unit in my truck and my iPhone 5. Also, before the updates, I had no problem using a 3rd party 8-pin lightening charger/sync cable in my truck, which was much more durable than the lightening cable that Apple overcharges for, because it was double in thickness. Although the 3rd party cable I was using cost as much as the Apple 2ml cable, it wasn't too long and wasn't nearly as flimsy as the Apple 1ml.
I've researched a solution to my problem and haven't come up with anything, so my question is:
Does anybody know what the **** to do about the compatibility issues we're having? I, as well as many others, have spent entirely too much money for something that is said to work, something that did work, but now does work efficiently. For as expensive as these **** phones are and as expensive as the head units or any other electronic that is "compatible", there should be no reason for any change to the products after the initial purchase in regards to features of any sort.
    WHAT IS THE FIX????????

    Please read this :

Well I copyed it to you here.
Re: Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?
created by mpa9366 in Using iPad - View the full discussion
Having done a lot of reading today and having found a very good online tablet magazine (will post link tomorrow) there seems to be a few tech bods onto the problem.
The magazine I was reading identified wifi problems within hours of the ios 6 release and have been analysing since then with almost daily updates - the story seems to be:
The apple authenthication transmission is normal, it should slip through event prior to a full handshake with the host network being completed - however if not authenthicated then apple will not permit the device to connect (kills the connection) this is designed to protect apple from counterfeiting. So thats problem 1 if you dont receive a token from apple.
Problem 2 is that ios 6 only supports ipv6 (the new ip protocol) whereas outside silicon valley a large proportion of routers modems etc are still ipv4 protocol.
So youre locked into ipv6 in a world where ipv4 devices are everywhere and apple have not allowed for the ability to handle both protocols. This is like GM telling you your car requires an upgrade, everything will improve etc and as part of the upgrade fits a fuel cell motor and stays silent when their upgraded vehicles are simply parked up because they cannot get fuel.
A very basic expectation would have been dual protocol handling - we know the HW supports ipv4 as all wad fine on ios5.
So its going to be hit and miss with networks - more hit than miss in techy areas like silicon valley, but more miss in places like where I am - a small town in rural Switzerland.
Only apple can fix this with a patch to enable ipv4 protocol handling.
There you go. you just need to buy a new router, I'm sure Apple has one for sale, cause it's not there fault for sure.
Wonder why people start to migrate to other devices ?

  • Connection errors with Pioneer AVH P3100DVD Car Stereo after iOS4.1 Update

I just upgraded to iOS 4.1 and now my Pioneer AVH P3100DVD car stereo has a "skipping" problem like a record or CD with a scratch in it when connected to my iPhone 4.
I've tried disconnecting the USB cable, restarting both my iPhone 4 as well as my car stereo - nothing seems to work. Think of it as watching a streaming video having buffering issues, you hear about a half second of audio, then it drops out, then another half second of audio, drop out, etc.
Plugged in my Classic iPod which still works fine so I know it's not the stereo unit or the cable connection. Has to be something caused by the new software upgrade?
Worked flawlessly with my iPhone 4 up until installing the upgrade yesterday and now haven't been able to find a remedy to the problem. It's as if the stereo keeps dropping the connection every half second.
Anyone out there with the same problem and found a remedy?

LOL...I am happy that I am not the only person to have this problem.
    Here is my thread.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2574519&tstart=0
I too have the same problem with the same Stereo. Except...I have had this problem once before on iOS 4.0.1 When I received my phone new from the factory, it had 4.0.1 on it. It had this problem with my 3100DVD radio too. However when I did a restore on my phone, it fixed it up to a point. I could listen to Pandora without any skips. My ipod would only work without skips if I setup the radio to give the IPOD controls.
Ever since I "Upgraded" to 4.1 it skips on my stereo no matter what I do. I haven't had a chance to do a restore yet. When I do one, I hope that it will work again.

  • Alpine CDE-103Bt Head Unit and Problem with 160 Gig Ipod Classic

    Hi,
2 weeks agao I brought a new Alpine CDE-103BT Head unit for my car. I have owned one of the old 160 gig classics for the last year and a half and at the time I brough the unit I was told this should all work sweet. Indeed all of the documentation from Alpine, and the Sales person, said this would not be a problem.
Unfortunately from Day one, most times after I received a phone call, while playing my ipod, the Head Unit would givesme an "Error-03" message and stop playing my music. I would then have to unplug my ipod, reset it, and plug it back in. Extremely frustrating.
The people I brought the Head Unit from are trying to say its an Ipod problem, yet I never had any problems with it and after I contacted the Australian Ipod help line they said it all appears to be working correctly. The firmware version I was on when I first tried the ipod on the head unit was 1.1.2. The Alpine manual said it should be 1.1.1 (then again you would expect them to be able to cope with updates) so as a last ditch attempt I downgraded the firmware on my ipod to 1.1.1, but it did not make a difference.
The only other thing I have noticed is that I switch the repeat and shuffle settings off when I plug in the unit, but after I unplug it after an Error-03 the Repaet function has been swtiched to all - I am not sure if this is what is causing the problem.
I am getting pretty frustrated with everything and I was wondering if anyone else has come accross this issue and even me helpful had they found a way to fix it.
If not has anyone had any postive expereinces with Alpine head units?
    Thanks

does bestbuy still do this? i usually check up on the ads every week and before, there would be a deal where if you buy the head unit from bestbuy, they would include installation for no charge? ive been wanting to install a doubledin head unit in my car recently, and have just been waiting for that deal to pop up again. does anyone know if they stopped running this deal?

  • N73 Trying to connect to Pioneer DEH-85BT Head Uni...

    Right,
Got a replacement N73 from Orange as mine was broken! My old one connected fine to my headunit (Had a little car next to the bluetooth symbol)
My new one will connect but Can I get a car symbol, can i Hell! Tried for an hour still no joy!
It connects but wont transfer the call to the headunit! The headunit recognises there is a call but wont play it through the speakers!
Any Ideas before I throw the N73 against a wall????

Good news boys and girls. I had the exact same problem with my 6110.
Here is the fix. Update software for your head unit. Works perfectly. I hate Nokia.
Thank God for pioneer doing the right thing and stepping up to clean up Nokia's mess. I won't be getting another Nokia after all the problems I have had with them, just thankful that my hands free works again... for now..
    http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/content/support/support/update/deh_bt_update.html
I did find that pioneer tell you to delete the phone from the Head unit connection list as step 4 AFTER updating it whereas I found that it would only update if I deleted the phone from the Head unit and the Head unit from the phone first. You will find that after the update the phone will connect as both a phone and a BT audio device at the same time which is a nice improvement. Still doesnt let you have voice navigation at the same time as listening to music from USB but an improvement none the less.
