I tried to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1. The upgrade (apexins.sql) went fine. With the post-install tasks I ran into problems. when running apxldimg.sql I got the following error/ Any thoughts?

  • ML upgrade went smooth but I can't access icloud document library from pages or any other app?

The upgrade went OK but I can't access the icloud document library as described in the Apple features section.  I can't get the dialog option in either Pages or Numbers Open boxes and it is not an option in Finder either.

    1. Switch to Finder bt clicking on your desktop
    2. On the Menu bar is the Go menu
    3. Click on it holding down the option key and you should see the system library listed (exact wording escapes me I am not in Lion)

  • Android 5 upgrade went smoothly

Last saterday I got the message that version 5.0.2 was ready to be installed. I used Sony PC Companion, followed exactly what was listed on the screen and started the upgrade.Within 30 minutes I had a proper working Android version 5.0.2 with all the personal settings intact. Now, some days later, I haven't noticed anything which is not ok. Perfect job Sony !!

The wording is confusing? Between all the negative posts about Sony I wanted to tell the opposite. The upgrade is done as described and went 99,999% OK. So it is not all drama !!

  • I upgraded to Mavericks.  Everything went smoothly.  But now Excel is giving all of its warnings in what I believe is Chinese.  As an example I update a file, close it, and the warning message about saving is in Chinese.  Anybody else encounter this?

  • Have Macbook Pro & 4th gen iPod Touch. Downloaded & installed iOS 4.3.2 yesterday. Upgrade went without a hitch, but now iTunes on My Macbook Pro will not open. I get an error that says "iTunes" Data too new to be used with this version of iTunes.

Have a Macbook Pro and a 4th gen iPod Touch. Downloaded and install iOS 4.3.2 yesterday. Upgrade went without a hitch, but now iTunes on My Macbook Pro will not open. I get an error that says --The file "iTunes Library" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes--. I am running iTunes 10.1.  I searched for Updates to my MacBook Pro (running 10.6.7), but comes back saying no updates available. WHAT IS GOING ON??

Is your computer still authorized in the Store menu in iTunes?

When I changed to my new MacBookPro I had to authorize it although I used TimeMachine to transfer my settings and data.
Did you try to deselect Wi-Fi syncing and enable it again after that?

  • I downloaded ios 6 for my iPad 2 and some of the upgrades went through but not all. It sounds like I need to reinstall ios 6. How do you do that? Everytime I try to upgrade it says I'm already updated

If you mean Siri then that is only on the iPad 3, it is not on the iPad 2 in iOS 6 (possibly because the iPad 2 doesn't have the Audience chip which the iPad 3 does). If there are other things that you think are missing (YouTube has been removed, and Passbooks is iPhone and iPod Touch only) ?

  • I just upgraded to FF 4.o, had 3.X running just fine, the upgrade went fine, but now it won't open Firefox at all.

I just upgraded to FF 4.o, had 3.X running just fine, Windows 7, the upgrade went fine, but now it won't open Firefox at all, it just loads and sits there and stops, but my task manager shows FF running in the background, I have tried reinstalling twice, no change, what is causing this?
Processes is the only place it shows Firefox running, programs won't show it in Task Manager.

Reinstall 10.6 again, but this time hold c boot off the 10.6 and erase the ENTIRE internal drive.
You do this by selecting the drive makers name and size on the left hand side, not the slightly indented partition underneath it.
If you erase and install 10.6 only into a parittion, say Macintosh HD, the you still have the hidden Lion Recovery Partition on the drive and it appears you already have 10.7
In the MAS, hold option and click Purchases to redownload Lion
FYI, you don't need to install 10.6 to reinstall 10.7, 10.7 can be reinstalled via the Lion Recovery, Command r boot.

  • Upgrade went perfectly

    Hi all,
I recently posted that I was not willing to upgrade to iTunes 5 because I was afraid to due to all the issues I have read on this and other boards. Well, I could not resist long, so today I upgraded. It went perfectly. Maybe it is because I was upgradign from 4.9, but the entire upgrade was fine, and my iPod snynched with not problems. I really don't see a whole lot of difference in 4.9 and 5.0 though. I suppose now I need Outlook 2003 in order to sync that? At least I have read that somewhere. Good luck to everyone on the upgrade.

go to an apple store hopefully you have one near by

  • Best upgrades for smooth HD video editing?

I love video editing and plan on making the jump to HD.
I intended on upgrading to a Quad Core...
but I read somewhere that processors for Late 2008 Unibodies are not upgradeable, bummer!
So, will an upgrade to 240GB SSD and 8GB RAM suffice?
All I want is smooth editing and exporting,
while regularly making the most of Adobe Premiere CS6 and inputing video from a Canon T3i DSLR.
Anyone else using the 2008 unibody for editing HD video?
What adjustments have you given your laptop?
Will a SSD and RAM upgrade suffice?
    Your advice is well appreciated
(p.s. I will probably be uprading to Mountain Lion, as well)

I have two late 2008 Macbook Unibody.
    A 2GHz with a 120GB OCZ SSD and a 2.4GHz with a 128GB Kingston SSD.  Both have 8GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM installed.
These are the two Macbooks I use at work - I use Photoshop and Premiere with no issues.
Because of the speed of the SSD and the 8GB RAM upgrade - these Macbooks can keep up with my Late 2011 with 16GB of RAM and 240GB SSD.
So your upgrade plan will have a significant performance boost to what you'll be using it for.

  • Upgrade went well

After the horror stories I read on this forum, I'm pleased to report that my upgrade to iWeb '08 went beautifully. My site is intact, all the menus and links work. Hooray!
Thanks to everyone who let me know what to back up before installing the upgrade. It was great to know I had a safety net!

    Thanks for the post!

  • Install went smooth, "first run" applet didn't seem to run

I upgraded to SL and my mac seems very happy. However I have a concern... After the install, the system rebooted, and the welcome screen came up, all the welcomes, and hellos in the different languages, and then a configuration utility came up. I remember seeing icons for configuring iMail, network, etc. however that app quit, and I can't seem to find it to run again. Is there a way to launch this 'first run startup configuration thingie'?

It's an upgrade/update that used your previous information, so no need for the setup assistant. Just a simpler way to install stuff by Apple. If you really want to run the setup assistant, launch the Terminal.app, type in this command, hit the return key, enter your password, hit the return key, quit Terminal, and restart:
    *sudo rm /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone*
    Use at your own risk.

  • Download went smoothly, but install is hung up on quitting open applications. Won't allow this to happen. What can I do? I can't quit the Mt Lion install to shut down and start again. I'm stuck.

Earlier, I downloaded Mt. Lion (currently using Snow Leopard). Download went fine but to Install, something seems to have hung up with quitting open applications. Keeps telling me to do that, but each time I hit the blue button to quit open applications, won't do that. I've tried quitting anything open in the dock, still says I need to quit open applications. Tried quitting Install for Mt. Lion so I could restart and try again. Can't do that either. What to do now? Any help appreciated.

CMD+OPT+esc should bring up the Force Quit Application. Select the Install ML app, and click Force Quit. That should do the trick. Then, save yourself some grief and copy it to a safe place because the ill-designed installer deletes itself during the installation process, necessitating wasting resources DLing it again if you need to reinstall or recover it.

  • Leopard to Snow Leopard upgrade went flawless

Probably 95% of the topics here are problems and horror stories. So here's one from the good side:
Upgrading from Leopard 10.5.8 to SL 10.6.2 was relatively painless. The whole thing took about 2 hours on my 2.16Ghz iMac. I took the standard precautions... backup and repair permissions, install, repair permissions, System Update, repair permissions again.
So far, everything is working fine. I've tested Pages '09, Numbers '09, Word and Excel 2008, Photoshop Elements 8, printing, scanning, and faxing through the Officejet 6500, and reinstalled Cisco 4.9.01.0180.
Now I'm going to upgrade my 13" Macbook.

You probably aren't going to be able to use your Snow Leopard Discs in your MacBook as they were for a MacBook Pro, and they made these discs where they aren't able to be used in other computers.  You can try it, but I'm pretty sure it isn't going to work.  If it doesn't work, then call Apple and order a set of discs for the computer to upgrade to Snow Leopard.  They will sell it to you for $19.99 but if you want to try it, it wouldn't hurt.
As far as getting two partitions into one, when you get into the setup wizard, you can click on the menu in the corner, go to Disk Utilities, and you can delete both of the partitions and then create one large one.

  • My 3g updated with 4.0 went smoothly and works perfectly.

With all the problems out there related to latest firmware updates I hope that most of us went through it without a hitch. Just follow some simple rules as usual with updates. Don't skip steps. Back up first. Get latest Itunes update. Sync again as usual. Then download 4.0 and do the update for your phone.
Note: If using windows, be sure to have all the latest windows updates for your system.
Treat your Iphone like it's not a phone. It's a hand held computer that can also make and receive phone calls.

Many people have been having reception/connection issues after the 4.0.1 update. Just search these forums and you will see. In the update Apple in their ultimate wisdom used a new algorithm to display the way the bars are displayed on the iPhone, mainly for the new iPhone 4, but it seems to be having a drastic effect on 3G and 3GS users. They say it should have no effect on actual reception as what you see now is what it actually was the whole time but only displayed differently but many are having serious issues. My friend updated and where she used to have 1 to 2 bars in her house and had no problem making calls she now has No Service.
I myself didn't update to 4.0.1 and won't until they get this sorted out.
Not sure why your having a problem only with internet connection, but like I said search these forums and you will hopefully find an answer.
    Good Luck
