3.5.2/463 clients will join 3.5.1/461p1 cluster.

I just noticed accidentally that 3.5.2/463 clients will join my 3.5.1/461p1 cluster. Is that the correct behavior? I thought in the past I got an error when I used mismatched versions.
-Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Coherence development tries very, very hard not to make protocol level changes between "minor" releases so that customers can do rolling upgrades. By "minor" I mean the second number, the "4" in 3.4 and the the "5" in 3.5. The last break in protocol was between 3.3 and 3.4 but we will try very hard not to do that again until a major release (i.e. 4.0). We try not to change existing APIs between service packs, where a service pack is the third number, such as "1" in 3.5.1. We will make exceptions only if it is critical. For example, we deliberately changed the PofExtractor API between 3.5.1 and 3.5.2. We will not change existing APIs between patches.
In brief, the behavior you are seeing is normal.
Regards,
David

Why two primary that is 'coz geographically based server support and workstation. You can think it as a data center to data center split.
That doesn't make sense and aren't valid reasons for 2012 (not that you can necessarily change it now).
This line jumps out at me in the log file though: "An MP exists on this machine".
That looks like the system you are installing on previously had an MP on it. I would delete the ccm namespace in WMI, cleanup all reference to ccm and Configuratin Manager from the registry, and then try again.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 Clients Will Not Download Anything Using BITS, error 0x801901F4

I built a new SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 suite on Server 2012 R2. Clients will not download anything that require BITS transfers. The root of the problem seems to be in the DataTransferService.log. These lines keep appearing over and over:
CDTSJob::HandleErrors DTS Job '(a GUID)' BITS Job '(a GUID)' under user '(SID)' OldErrorCount: 11 NewErrorCount: 12 ErrorCode 0x801901F4 (of course, error counts increment)
CDTSJob:Handlerrors DTS Job = '(GUID matching one above)' URL='http://dpname and package path' ProtType=1
    Any input appreciated.
    Ben JohnsonWY

Well, I found a problem. LOCAL SERVICE was running the Distribution Points Pool in IIS and Local Service didn't have rights to c:\windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework64\V4.0.30319 on the DP server. Once it did that it cleared up some IIS problems but not this
    problem.
0x80070003 seems to mean "path not found". In DataTransferService.log the path it's trying to get to is
http://fullservername:80/sms_dp_smspkg$/abc00012. When I enter that path into a browser URL bar, it displays this info:
    date time 50449456
http://fullservername:80/sms_dp_smspkg$/abc0012.2/exe file of patch it's trying to pull.
The clients seem unable to find the path to the patches.

  • Common reason for Mirage Server Failure in Clustered Environment and how clients will be switched to other server in a cluster

    Hi,
Can Anybody share me the information regarding Common reason for Mirage Server Failure in Clustered Environment.
And how clients will be switched to other server in a cluster to continue their operations from the failed server.
    Regards,
    Bathesha C

    Hello,
if you have more than one mirage server configured with Load balancing (LB or MSFTNLB) the client would disconnect from the faulting server and then reconnect to an other server to progress with the action as before.
All Mirage server are stateless and share the same SIS (single instance store) so any server can update or create CVD file set for an client.
    Hope that helps.

  • In AIR 3.x, a socket write()+flush() on a client will hang app if peer adverts TCP ZERO WINDOW

In AIR 3.x, a socket write() + flush() on a client will hang (and freeze the entire app) if the socket peer advertises a ZERO TCP Window, i.e. no space available in peer receiver's socket buffer.
AIR on Windows insists that the developer flush() the socket in order to write (any data at all).  When the peer (receiver) advertises a 0 byte tcp window, the client flush() call can sometimes take 10 seconds (i.e. 10000 milliseconds), whereas normally it should take 10 to 50 milliseconds.
Additionally, AIR stayed in hung position.  Since the socket had TCP KEEPALIVE option enabled (at the server), the socket stayed open.  I let it stay hung overnight.  The next day when I rebooted the server, the socket got closed and finally the AIR program "RETURNED FROM the sock.flush()" call.  A timestamp before and after the call to flush() showed that the flush() call was in hung state for 56472475 milliseconds, i.e. 15.7 hours!  After it returned from the flush() call the AIR app was responsive and seemed to work properly.  Thus proving that it was indeed stuck (or blocked) on the flush() call for 15 hours trying to drain the data to a socket with zero tcp window condition.
A tcp zero window condition on 1 socket hanging an entire app sounds concerning.
    Solution Suggestions:
    (1) What is needed is for the OutputProgress event to include a field for 'bytes that can be written safely without blocking on the socket', i.e. 'space available in underlying platform socket buffer' which would account for the socket send buffer size.
    (2) An alternative solution would be for AIR to provide a write-timeout setsockopt (or a writeTimeout() method on the socket), and return flush with an error (or EWOULDBLOCK), and call the OUTPUTPROG event only when there is enough space available.
If there are any other workarounds, please let me know.
    Thank you.

Question:  Does Adobe AIR expose the getsockopt() and setsockopt() calls on a socket?  It would be useful to apps to tune the io buffer sizes.
    Additional Details:
    RTT = 100+ milliseconds
    TCP Window Scaling enabled
    Secure Socket
Hard to reproduce with plain TCP socket, but occurs without fail with SecureSocket.  Not knowing the underlying code base, am wondering if it is because the SSL encryption overhead (bytes) throws off the buffer available size compution in secure_sock.flush() .
    Thanks.

    Harjeet,
The current implementation of java in either IE or NS are not
able to run the classes of Oracle developper...
You should install the Jinitiator that comes with the Dev6.
Look for the Object or Embed syntax in the release note or the
Online manual for the complete syntax.
    Here is a hint:

  • Is it possible to control what updates a client will install, but have them be downloaded from Microsoft?

We have many smaller sites that are connected to our MPLS network on low bandwidth links such as 2 - 4 Mbps. There is not enough infrastructure there to support a DP site server.  Is there a way to tell the client what Windows Updates to install, but
have that client download from Microsoft rather than a DP?
Part of the problem is that the DP for those clients will have the files, so most of the options I see on the specify download settings of this deployment page of the wizard, do not seem to work for me.  I see where I can tell the client to use Microsoft
Updates if the updates are not found on distribution point. But they will be found because they will be there for clients that use it with higher bandwidth.
Is branch cache ( or allow clients to share content I guess ) my only option?
    Thanks

Ok, keep in mind that this stuff is not tested, not documented, and not supported:
    Under "SELECT * FROM SMS_SCI_Component WHERE ComponentName = ' SMS_WSUS_CONFIGURATION_MANAGER ' AND SiteCode = 'CEN'"
    Property is:
    HostBinariesOnMicrosoftUpdate
Undocumented, untested, but normally untested stuff works well for ConfigMgr! Flag is propbably translated to this WSUS feature:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.updateservices.administration.iupdateserverconfiguration.hostbinariesonmicrosoftupdate(v=vs.85).aspx
So try setting it to 1 and have a go?

PS. After talking to Jason it's likely that this will not help you... so dont get your hopes up. :-/

  • My email client will open but the old emails will not.

My email client will open on my mac mini but the old emails will not. I have some as far back as 2009.
    What can I do?

Hmmm, sounds like they might not really be there!?
    Get Find Any File...
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
Hold Option or alt key when selecting Find to Find All.
    Search for Name> Ends in>.emlx
    (dot ee em el ex)
When done, sort by date, see if there are any from 2009, & if so what size they are, and if dragging one to Text Edit icon shows text.

  • Create Manageable Channel in JSDT and invite the clients to join It

I am developing a collaborative application using JSDT where I want to incorporate private messaging between two clients. When the Client chooses the private messaging option I am creating a New channel and inviting the other Client to join the Channel using channel.invite(client) method. It throws the permissionDenied exception. I am wondering if it is a client autentication problem. Since there isn't enough good reference on JSDT I am having hard time understanding this problem. I would greatly appreciate any help to solve this problem.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier
Have taken a look at this problem & have built a skeleton app that works
I think your problem is probably due to NOT building in a ChannelManager(???) & thus when your client tries to join the Channel within the Session - No Authentication occurs
Anyhow have a look at the code below (it needs some tidying up)
Run JSDTManager, then JSDTChatApp, then JSDTChatClient

  • Need to understand how clients will communicate with a remote DP if their local DP decides to go down (offline)

Will clients fallback to the Central Office DP if their local DP "goes down", or does this depend solely on if the Central Office site DP has been configured in a Content Location Boundary Group for that remote site and if it is NOT,
then will clients will NOT be able to search for any available DPs within the domain?

It depends on the configuration of the distribution point (tab Boundary Groups | checkbox
Allow fallback source location for content) and the configuration of the application (tab Content | checkbox
Allow clients to use a fallback source location for content).

  • How to configure the mac mini to allow the clients to access both partitions...the client will only see the one we are logged into at the server???

if possible??? how do we configure the mac mini to allow the clients to access both partitions...the client will only see the one we are logged into at the server???

You have to explicitly share directories on external/secondary volumes.
Use the Server admin app to configure file sharing, and select which directory/directories on the second drive you want to share, then they'll be available to clients.
