3.6.3 Does not appear to cache pages.

I upgraded to 3.6.3 from 3.5.1. I don't think EITHER cache web pages. To test I use a 56k modem, go to Ebay, search a product, display 198 items, let it FINISH loading the page, go to the SECOND page, then hit the BACK arrow.
Reloading the first page takes the SAME time that it took initially. If images are cached this is not possible.

I suspected a problem with a fast connection, and took it down to dial up (56k) to confirm. Also if I view an image, say 100k in size and select SAVE IMAGE AS the saving time is the same as the initial load time.

* Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode
* You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Edit > Preferences] > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
* To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Edit > Preferences > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
* Uncheck: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"

Hi there!
I'm new at SAP Portals.
I've created a role and assigned it to an user, but the corresponding tab does not appear in home page.
I've already changed permitions to a group that is assigned to the user.
I've seen in some posts that the role's property "Entry point" should have value "Yes", but mine is set to "No". Meanwhile, I can't change it. When I open the role and press button "Properties" nothing happens. The only way I can check role's properties is through "Delta Link tracer", but there I can't change them.
Can you help me, make the new tab (corresponding to role) happear in home page menu?

to track down you problem, you click on "properties", but you can't see the properties? They won't get loaded and therefor, you can't edit the property?
What's your portal version + SPS, which browser are you using + version (IE, FF) and how do you access the portal? IP, FQDN? Are you getting any error message in the browser?
What profile is assigned to your user? What kind of roles are you trying to modify? A new one, or a SAP pre-delivered portal role?

Navigation bar does not appear on published page, Replaced by a "bullet"

Navigation bar does not appear on the published page, but is replaced by a "bullet".
"Include page in Navigation menu" is checked on every page.
Therefore unable to navigate to other pages.
If other pages are moved to the first position, the same thing occurs - ie unable to navigate to any other page.

One frequent reason for that is the fact that not all the files in the Scripts folder for the site are getting uploaded. While viewing the site bring up the Activity Window (Command+Option+A) and see if any of the files are listed as missing. If there are you'll need to upload the Scripts folder to the server.
If you're using iWeb the only option there is to try the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option.
Or, you can publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck to upload just the Scripts folder to the server.

Cursor does not appear on Facebook page load. Spacebar shifts page down.

Cursor does not appear anywhere on Facebook page load. It used to land in the first text box, and as I was used to this I would open an FB page and start typing. Nothing was entered into the text box, and when I hit Spacebar it shifts the page down.
Couple of things:
It acts this way both in normal and in "safe mode".
It acts correctly on Google - it is my home page and when I open it the cursor is always in the search box. It also acts correctly on YouTube.
The cursor DOES NOT appear in the URL bar (thankfully)
The cursor DOES NOT appear in any text boxes on any other pages I open >> The Weather Channel, TED.com, Amazon.com
The Spacebar scrolls the screen down one frame at a time.
It has the same behavior with the "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages
I am using FF 18.0.1 on Windows XP
I have tried a lot of the weird tips and tricks suggested on this support forum, but none of them address specifically this issue.

If I'm not logged on then the cursor is in the login form at the top. 
Once logged in the main body has focus and not a specific element, so you have to click in an input filed to set focus to it.
If it worked before then they have changed the code of that page recently and it is just a coincidence that it happened around the time that Firefox updated.

Logout link does not appeared in exception page

When exception is thrown , the logout link is not appeared in the exception page. By default , we select error page in themes as two level tabs.
Where can I get the error page for the themes. Is can i see the code for error page , if possible.

New Region does not appear in standard page (Please Your Help).

Hi Experts,
I tried to create in javadeveloper a region to have descriptive flexfields shown in standard page with the following structure :
Region (stacklayout)
Region (messageComponentLayout)
Item (messageLayout)
Item (flex)
Then I used import command to move XML file to the sever .
Afterthat in self service I created an item of stacklayout type with specifying the required fields like Application module and extend field but I am not able to
see the region in standard page , is there any anything missing please your help?

Please try this > Make the AM property of your new region to be blank . Also check if your custom controller of your region has correct logic.
Repeat the deployements steps and bounce the server.

Photo Gallery & Vimeo & YouTube Widgets does not appear

Hello Forum,
I created a new homepage. www.pengpalast.de - If you click on "the holycoaster s(hit) circus" at the front and then on photo, you will see, that there is no gallerx. But i created one in I Web, also a Trailer (with the embeddes function of vimeo) on the front page, directly under the links (the hole between links and facebook). Why does this happen? Is it because i have a picture for the Page background? All Vimeo, You Tube, Photo widges does not appear on my page.
And it is a beta version.. there a lot of formation faults on the page, please don`t mention, i just wanna clearify the big ones.

It appears that not all of the files are getting uploaded. Particularly the Scripts folder. So if you're using iWeb to upload to the server change that and publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and use an FTP client like the free Cyberduck to upload the site folder to your server.

Banner does not appear in web preview

I have a banner image that I put at the top of my webpage it looks great in DW. However when I go to web preview in Firefox or IE it does not appear on the page in the browser, just the title bayshore. Can someone please let me know how to fix this.

This is a strange way to show the site. Can't you just upload the page?
In addition, I tried running that piece of code through the validator and you do have issues with the HTML that could cause some display issues. I would recommend fixing those first to see if that helps:

Integration Process does not appear in ID or Runtime Cache

I created an Integration process and it has not appeared as an available service in the Integration Directory when createing a receiver determination. It also does not appear in the runtime cache.
Last week I created a different IP and that exists in both places. Between that time and now we migrated the SLD from one machine to another; I don't know if this will have an affect, but all messages interfaces created today appear in the Integration Directory, so there is a communication path at least.
Can anybody advise how to proceed?

You should import the IP from IR to ID.
In ID Goto Objects tab, here expand Service without party, you got the IP, from here you right click mouse>new>give some name and import your created IP in the IR.
Then you get the IP in the ID.

Album artwork does not appear in album list or grid

I added album artwork (did get info then copy and paste) and it shows up fine in cover flow but does not appear in album list or grid view.
What am I doing wrong? Artwork files were scanned from album covers that I have.

Your album artwork cache may be corrupt. Provided most, if not all, of your artwork is embedded you can simply delete the Album Artwork folder that you will find inside your main iTunes folder and then scroll slowly through the library in Grid/Albums mode to rebuild it. Any images that were "downloaded" rather than embedded will need to be reacquired.
Threre are separate folders for the downloaded and cached images, but I've always gone for a complete rebuild so I don't know it would work to delete just the cached folder.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I tried updating Firefox and that didn't work. All I could find was that it could be a proxy thing, but I'm set to "no proxy" in my network settings so I'm stumped.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

Why local file destype does not appear in the parameter form ?

Hi,
There is a Destype option Local File but it does not appear in the list for Destype in the Parameter form.Why?
Even file is not working & the reports server is getting hanged if i specify the destype as file & a valid file name & format is given.
Print option from the app server is also not working, i mean remote printing.
My App server machine can see my local printer, but when i give the print share name or literally five\\machine name..printername then too print option is not working.

I'am using 9iDS & the reports documentation says that Local File DesType Option is valid for rwclient & rwservlet.
When your specify in the command line option it works, no issues but in web reports where i get the parameter form Destype list does not contain Local File Option.
For web reports i use rwservlet.
i mean to say my url is something like this
http://oracle.guru:8888/reports/rwservlet?report=abc.rdf&userid=a/b@c&destype=cache&paramform=yes&server=myserver
one more peculiar thing, i have reported it on Metalink.
As you can see in the above URL i have given an argument of destype=cache, if i do not give this then my parameter for will not come up!!!, why should i give a destype for the parameter form to be displayed?
Ok coming to my current problem..
in 9iDS Reports is Local File supported? i.e. when i give a URL like above(My parameter form has system & user parameters including DesType,DesName & DesFormat).
coming to the file option in DesType.
In my parameter form if i select Destype as File & give a valid file name & a valid Desformat the report server hangs i mean there is no activity on the client & after this any report requests from any other clients is not responded by the Reports Server.
When i check in the performance monitor of my Reports Server the CPU Utilization will be constant at 100%
