3 Airport Utility Apps - Only 1 Working Now

Last night I (1) installed a Time Capsule (TC); (2) installed the new MacOS X Leopard; and (3) as recommended by TC's installation guide, upgraded "Airport Utility.app" to v. 5.3.
Before last night, I was running my iBook and a printer wirelessly using an Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS), and the utility I used most often was "Airport Management Utility.app".
Now, when I try to open "Airport Management Utility.app" or "Airport Client Monitor.app" (the 2 Airport utility apps which were NOT upgraded last night), I get an error window saying that "the application quit unexpectedly," with options to Ignore, Report or Relaunch. (Relaunching does no good.)
All 3 of these utility apps were installed together when I first connected the my iBook to the AEBS 4 years ago. I can see needing to upgrade to more recent versions of the utilities, it's been a few years, but I can't seem to find upgrades for Airport Management Utility.app or Airport Client Monitor.app. Are they no longer being used? Is Airport Utility.app alone supposed to replace the other two? I'm not sure, because I was pretty wiped when I finally went to bed at 3 am, but plain-old Airport Utility.app doesn't seem to be as functional as Airport Management Utility.app was.
So is this a TC problem? A Leopard problem? Or an Airport upgrading problem? (That'll teach me to do three major things at once!)

Recently bought a Mac Mini Intel, and MacBook Intel....
Now my wireless internet downloads wil just drop down to nothing and stall for 5-10 minutes. I have to turn off my Airport card and reconnect on both my Mac Mini and MacBook. I also noticed I am having MAJOR Loss Packets with the Intel machines and NOT A SINGLE PACKET LOSS with my PowerPC's.
(Intel's stink by the way)
I have tried changing encryption from WPA to WEP and now I am trying it with no ecnryption. I am downloading Second Life at 60kbps per second. (My iBook would download and nearly 250kBps).
I am going to revert and report back here.

Resetting the password you will need to do for each device... the utility cannot even see those old units.
So you will have to do it for each one.. think it through.. because as you change passwords the others will lose connection.. so start from the express which are wireless extending .. change those first.. and go back up the chain.. as each one changes it will drop off the network.. until you reach extreme and change that. Then you might need to reboot the whole network to get everything talking again. If something goes wrong.. just pluck that one out of the mix and plug in ethernet.. reset and redo the setup. That is my preferred method anyway.. do everything in isolation one by one. By ethernet and then nothing goes wrong.

You cannot partition a network disk. And apple provided no tools for it in the TC itself. You can pull the disk out and partition it but that voids your warranty. (although done with care who is to know).

Mixing TM and data on the TC is worth planning carefully. They don't necessarily sit happily together.

I don't see my iPhone in the AirPort utility App

simple english, your iphone does NOT backup to the time machine, only Mac computers backup to the TM
but, if you backup your phone to your Mac (either via wire or wifi), then indirectly your iphone is backed up to TM each time your Mac gets backed up to TM

Leopard 10.5.2 - airport utility app doesn't detact anything

I'v got an airport extreme, by which I'm connected to the internet (wireless or ethernet, no problem here). But my MacBook can't find find any airport (airport utility app). So I can't configure my airport (ethernet or wireless). I can't use airdisk nor my printer. I rebooted both devices, have got all the latest updates, ...
any ideas?

Thanks for the help and sorry for the delay, been too busy and WIFI still worked, but now I really want to use airdisk and my printer. I resetted multiple times. When I reset, airport utility app detects the airport extreme, but hangs on reading the configuration.
So I switched to a windows laptop and Windows had no trouble finding the airport extreme, nor configuring the airport. I set the channel to 9, but no use. Pretty desperate right now, maybe I should switch to Windows to use apple hardware? Another strange thing is that I have the same problem from Windows on my macbook (running VMWare Fusion). Maybe this is an hardware issue, but I have no problems with WIFI, just with the configuration of my airport extreme.

Airport Extreme security concern with Airport Utility App

Just bought the new Airport Extreme (802.11ac) last night. BY FAR the easiest wireless setup I have ever done (< 5 minutes). Hats off to the Apple developers on this one - they crushed it! One of the things that makes this device so easy to setup though is the iPad/iPhone Airport Utility app. I used the iPad version.
My concern - When I startup this app it goes straight to the main config screen. Just tap on the Airport Extreme image, then tap Edit and I'm into my wireless settings (id's, passwords, etc.). And that's my concern. It didn't ask me for any kind of password to get into the utility, or the settings. What's to stop someone else from using my iPad to get into the wireless settings, or from someone else installing the app on their iPad and getting into my wireless settings.
It feels like this is a huge security hole. Am I missing something?

Only way I can think of is uninstall the app, and install it again only when I need it. Isn't there a better way?
If it were me, I would not install or use AirPort Utility for the iPad, iPhone etc. Use only AirPort Utility on your Mac, and do not enable the option to have KeyChain Access remember the password.
Then, anyone who wants to access the settings in AirPort Utility on the Mac will have to enter the Base Station password to be able to make any changes in AirPort Utility.

Cannot Get AirPort Utility to Update/Work

I cannot get the AirPort Utility Version 6.0 to update on my machine. Worse, I can't get the AirPort Utility to work at all now because of the failed update. Any advice on how to fix the problem? I've tried to install the earlier update (5.6) but that doesn't work either...

This is a Lion issue....AirPort Utility 6.0 is now part of the operating system.....that has been discussed in a number of threads in the OS X Lion support area. Suggest that try over there.
I have not checked recently, but the "fix" mentioned in a number of thrreads (suggested by Apple) was to re-install Lion again. Things may have changed, so you would want to get full details and probably work with Apple directly on this.

Sounds like you are a bit confused with version numbers.
Latest AirPort Utility version for the iPhone / iPad is 1.3.3. There is no option or capability to export/import settings on the iOS version(s) of AirPort Utility.....although you could take a series of screen shots and save them for future reference.
AirPort Utility 6.3.x is found on a Mac.....not on iPhone / iPad. Export and Import options are found under the File menu in 6.3.x.

My faceook app only works when I am connected to wifi all other apps work on 3g except facebook

I have updated my phone with all the recent updates including the newest facebook version. All was working fine until one day the facebook app quit working. I can use all my other apps without fail on 3g or wifi but my facebook app only works while im on a wifi network. The minute it switches to 3g it fails to load. I have tried deleting the facebook app and reloading it several times with no success. Any suggestions?

**** little info about your equipment.
If you just replaced the router with an Airport Extreme or Express:
disconnect the modem from power, disconnect the new router from power, connect the modem to power and wait till it os fully started up, then connect the new router to power. After a while the amber light will turn to flashing, then after a while it will turn to green. Then with AirportUtility (in Aplications/Utilities) it should be configured with the password.

Has anyone download the Airport Utility app on their iPod Touch or iPhone?

Just was wondering if anyone downloaded the Airport Utility app from the app store onto their iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone? You can see a picture of your Time Capsule's nework and a picture of your Time Capsule right on your iOS device (iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad) and it's quite nice that you can actually see a picture of your network. It shows current status and a diagram/picture of your network. You can also make changes to your network right from your iOS device. This is a nice feature to have on your portable device.
I was just wondering how anyone else liked this feature?

No Disk utility app or System information app or AirPort Utility app

since upgrading to Maverick these System apps (Disk utility app, Activity Monitor app, Systems Information app and Airport Utility app) are all in shadow with a cross through them. why? at first i waited becourse i thought apple would update but it seems to be just me.

When you upgraded, were they in their default locations or did you move them to a different folder? Updates don't go looking around the computer for the Apps. If they are not in the default location they are skipped.
You could try installing the 10.9.2 combo update. That might update them.

New to Time Capsule and Airport Utility App not current...

I just received a Time Capsule for Christmas with the main purpose being to back up photos from my Mac and iPhone. When trying to install the Time Capsule I get this message:
"This version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this AirPort wireless device and might improperly configure the device if you continue to use it. Check www.apple.com/support/airport for the latest version of AirPort Utility."
My Airport Utility app is version is 5.6.1
I've looked for a more recent update but it doesn't appear there is one.
Is there a more recent update? Do I need it to proceed?

You must use a Mac with Lion at least, and the latest v6 airport utility available for it.. You cannot use Snow Leopard. You cannot use windows.
The alternative is to use iOS version of the utility which you can download to iphone ipad.

That should work on the iPad. Basic app troubleshooting from Apples support site. Items 1, 2 & 3 should not apply to your situation, but I posted the link at the end if you want to read them.
4. Restart the application
If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app:
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
Double-tap the Home button to display recent apps.
Tap and hold the affected app until the red minus appears.
Tap the red minus to quit the app.
Press the Home button, then restart the app.

Hold the Sleep/Wake button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.
6. Reinstall the affected application
Remove the application from your device and reinstall it.
Touch and hold any application icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the application you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the application and all of its data from your device.
Press the Home button.
Go to the App Store.
Search for the application and then download it again.

Updated airport utility will not work on older Airport Extreme

I have a mid-2011 Macbook Air with OS 10.9.4. So that's up-to-date. I recently updated my Airport Utility to version 6.2. I have an old Airport Extreme. The new Airport utility will not work with the old Airport Extreme. Apple will not let me download the older Airport Utility, because I have a newer one installed: classic Catch-22. Any ideas? I need to find out my SSID to connect with a new Denon AVR receiver. Is there any way to find out my SSID with Airport Utility?

You must first uninstall AU 6.2 before you can install an older version. This may be removed by the mods so get it while you can:
