'3' and My N70

Hi guy's,
I have posted previously asking about the browsing capabilities of this handset and was told that it isn't the phone that is limited to WAP only sites rather my network (3) holding me back.
Sorry that I haven't posted this as a follow on but I didn't want this question to get lost down the list but is there any way around my networks limitations?
Can I do anything to my phone that will allow me to bypass 3's restrictions?
I also realise this might not be the right place to ask this question if so could you point me to a forum that may be able to help.

There is nothing you can do on/to the phone. The only way to bypass that restriction is to switch from '3' to another operator (unless you can persuade '3' to open up their network).Message Edited by petrib on 09-Jan-2006

I am a Nokia user from India. I have Nokia N70. I have no vouchers or unlimited subscription. I do not want to change my phone as it work really well. There is some Pay Credit feature which I can't see how to activate. Does that mean I can't use Nokia's OVI Music store.

Connection to Jabra SP5050 and N70 ?

Hi
Just bought my wife the Jabra SP5050 Bluetooth handsfree.
She has 2 phones, the Motorola Razr V3 and the N70 both of which cant find the SP5050 when searching via Bluetooth.
I have the N95 and that finds it straight away.
Any ideas what is going on here ?
I am guessing a need for updated software version on the N70 ??
Any help would be great

Hello. I write from Italy. I have read your message. I have a car kit like yours (CARK-91)and Nokia N70.
if I buy the CA-55 cable (or clone) and the car holder CR-27 can I use the older car kit? Works fine? To charge the phone, what I do?
Can I use this holder with CA-55 cable?

you can use the ca55 cable and cr27 holder with the n70 and it will charge the phone you will have to pad the holder to get the phone to be firm as the ck27 is a bit big as its designed for the 6680 have fitted up my mates phone with the same kit hope this helps

No contacs after firmware upgrade on N70

Hi
I did a firmware upgrade yesterday on my N70 using NSU. Of course I did a backup using the uptodate Nokia PC suite. After the firmware upgrade I saved the data back to the phone aagin using the Nokia PC suite. Everything looks good except that no contacts are there.
I did the upgrade again just to make sure that everything went OK with the same result.
Can some help or has the same problem?

not sure about your PC Suite version but this has been well documented in these forums and I had the same problem and with N70. I think it was mentioned as a PC Suite issue, or a combined PC Suite issue N70 issue with many people reporting it. Anyway nothing you can do but enter your contacts or transfer from another phone

How to send a fax by using laptop pc + N70

Dear friends, can you give me any advise for this practise: edit a fax file on laptop, following, setup a connection between pc and my N70 with bluetooth device, then send the fax out via my N70. I have heard some people did this succesfully, but I failed to do it. I do not know what's wrong or N70 can not. Can you give me some advise ? many thanks

N70 Contacts cannot sort by first name

My contacts are currently displayed in a Last Name sort, which is driving me up the wall!
I'm from Singapore and my N70 was purchased about a month ago from SingTel, one of three local telcos.
I've had the firmware flashed (via Nokia's website) to the latest version: 5.0638.3.0.1 dated 18-09-06
For some strange reason, my Contacts doesn't have a Settings option. Hitting Options while in Contacts brings up the following:
Open
Voice Call
Video Call
Create Message
New Contact
Open Conversation
Edit
Delete
Duplicate
Mark/Unmark
Copy
SIM contacts
Send
Memory details
Synchr. Contacts
Help
Exit
That's it. Some other forums have mentioned that a Settings option should be available just before Help.. but it's non-existent on mine. Even the manual has no mention of a Settings option. Anyone have any ideas?

I had no idea the phone only supported up to 1GB. I had bought the phone at a local computer show (Singapore, SITEX 2006): there was a good price offer by a telco at the time (SIN$68 + 2 year plan at SIN$89/mth). Right after I picked uo the phone, I went and got the 2GB RS-MMC card (SIN$57). The guys selling the card said that an N70 could use it.
Upon reaching home, I checked the manual (in fact I just looked it up again) and there's no mention about the capacities supported.
Going to MENU > TOOLS > MEMORY right now, it reads the following:
Name Kingston
Capacity 1991 MB
Used 68 MB
Free 1923 MB
(Incidentally, for some reason, the card cannot be renamed.. I've already tried it twice)
The card works fine. No issues with it whatsoever. In fact, because I'm on a Mac, I can't run PC Suite and other Windoze programmes, I have a personal workaround to "manually" update and modiy the vCards stored on the card using a card reader connected to my MacBook Pro.
Since the phone only supports USB 1.1, I will likely use the card reader to transfer music to my phone for use during my commute. But then I already have a 60GB iPod...
Currently, my N70 is configured to store all incoming messages on the card, along with all my personal stuff AND backups. Had to do a hard reset once (green + 3 + *) and restored from my card in less than 5 minutes. Took another 10 minutes to reassign speed dials, default numbers and BT authorisations.

Can't get my N70 to sync with Outlook 2003

Hi I'm running Windows XP with SP2 on Dell D420 Laptop and the N70 is connected via USB. There's no problem there. I can't install application through this connection.
But when I run PC Suite(V6.83.14.1) Sync, I cannot edit the sync settings and nothing happens when I press sync button.
I really want to get my contacts from outlook on the the N70. I'm using the most recent pc suite version.
Any advice would be appreciated.

you can export outlook's contacts into vCard files. then copy them to the phone via PC Suite.

Nokia n90 and pc suite 6.70.22

another question.
I am trying to connect my n90 to my pc to get some images off it and send sms.
i can install pc suite 6.70.22 with no problems but i get a message saying the connected phone is not recognised. i have tried this with a 6680 and an n70 and this works fine on the machine i installed pc suite to.
i have also tried this on a seperate machine, again i get the message from pc suite saying that the phone is not recognised - but the 6680 works fine.
both machines run windows xp home with sp2 and pc suite 6.70.22. i am connecting with a ca-53, one machine has laspersky antivirus and the other has no antivirus or security software.
i am able to use the get connected wizard but it does not complete untill i disconnect the phone from the pc.
the firmware on my phone is: 3.0545.5.1 and has previously worked with pc suite 6.6 and pc suite 6.70.21
has anyone else seen this problem, or been able to fix it?

Ups, I mixed this phone with 6230i, which has the mode selection, sorry to confuse you, the phone screen should not ask any questions. Anyways, there should be at least an indicator that USB is connected.
I reread the post once again and if I understand right, your 6680 and N70 work OK, but with N90 you donät even get the USB drivers installed ? What does it say in device manager/hardware when you connect the phone and follow up from there what happens ?Message Edited by manta on 27-Dec-2005

N70 compatability with 610 Car kit

Can anyone help me to pair N70 with 610 car kit. I have installed the download programe onto the phone and that seems to be running Ok, but the 610 cannot see the phone. all BT settings have been double checked,

I also found out that N70 does not support SAP - unfortunately after I bought it - which is a shame to my opinion for a state of the art phone. I actually got pretty **bleep** of with Nokia because I bought the Nokia 616 and the N70 together as a thought so "Business Combination".
I cannot understand why there is no update available to solve that problem. Or did anybody hear something new?

Not all contacts in "To..." field in Nokia Text Me...

I noticed, that in the field "To..." in Nokia Text Message Editor all contacts are not showed.
After the small investigation I came to this it happened because I've set default tel. numbers for voice connections in my Nokia N70. When I switch off them and refresh the contact list in Nokia Text Message all contacts are appear.
In the the previous version of the PC Suite 6.82 wasn't this problem.
In Contacts list on Nokia Phone Browser everything is all right.
I Have Win XP SP2, PC Suite 6.83.14.1 and Nokia N70.
All in Polish language.
Could Nokia fix it?

Have you tried resetting the sync history on what I assume to be a Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder?
If not, quit iTunes, the Address Book, and iCal.
Launch the iSync application and after selecting reset sync history via iSync preferences, restart your Mac followed by syncing your iPhone again to check if this resolves the problem.

How can I play windows media aduio files?Need help...

Oh ,I bought a N70 in China.It is not all the same as the product which sold in Euro.It doesn't have the anterior camera .And my N70 can't play the windows media aduio files from my classical music CDs,I tried several software but all failed.What's the matter?

WMAPlus! says it plays Windows Media Audio on phones like the N70 (based on S60 2nd Ed.):

I believe it does not handle DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected WMA files, though.
Also, there's no S60 3rd Edition version (but then there are S60 3rd Edition based models with WMA support built-in, such as the N91).

Yep, I have the same issues with my TTG 700 and my N70. What software version are you running on the TomTom? I'm currently using v5.201 & this doesn't support any N series phone, so I had to choose the 6680 from the list.
TomTom have released a recent software update, v5.420 which is meant to be compatible with more models but I am sure I have read that this version supports the N90 but not the N70 as of yet.

Actually I am still running v5.201 as I use the PocketWorld GPS speed camera database and I have read that upgrading to v5.420 can cause issues.
I can make and receive calls using the TTG with the N70 and I can also access the internet if using the traffic update functions for example, that's about it.

This is not a flash lite question but still content related.
I have been researching about device customization but I am
having a
hard time trying to distinguish between the content that can
be
personalized by a device (independently from the carrier) and
the ones
that are operator implemented.
For example, I have the N70 with Vodafone in Australia.With
my N70 I can
change:
- wallpaper
- contact image
- welcome image
- themes
- "go to" image
From this list, the first 4 should be pretty much universal
where the
'go to" image (the background within the vodafone
application) I believe
is a Vodafone content only but I wonder if the same image
could be
changed if your operator was Cingular somewhere else in the
world.
Also I cannot change the image of my screensaver.. I have a
feeling this
was a vodafone implementation and other N70 users with a
different
operator and location might be able to change it.
If you have a N70, could you confirm this please?
