3 Attempts to Install Failed @ the 41 minute mark!

I have attempted to install SL since the release. It always restarts on its own, then at the 41 minute mark. it fails. Same place all three times. I have a 2GHz Imac, maybe 2 years old. This is the first time I have seen a failure since my 512 when upgrading systems. I have done the utility and checking the disk, everything is OK. I repaired the permissions! Most anyway, what is going on.

This may be a long shot, but I notice your signature says you are on OS10.5.1 - is that still correct?
Maybe you could try to upgrade that first using Software Update. That might either get you to a version that will upgrade to SL, or reveal a problem with your present setup.

I ran the install program, after a few seconds I get the following error message:   "Install Failed: The following install step failed: run preflight script for Adobe Photoshop CS2. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." (I did contact adobe, but they no longer support CS2) Originally, I had installed PS CS2 when I was using OS 10.4.X, then I upgraded to 10.5.x. PS CS2 was working fine on my system. Then I accidentally deleted the program, now I'm having trouble reinstalling. I'd appreciate any help that you can give me.

I encountered the exact same problem - I had upgraded to CS2 from a previous version of Photoshop, back
when I was using OSX 10.3.9. Later, I upgraded my OS from 10.3.9, to Leopard (10.5.8.)
CS2 always ran flawlessly, through all those systems.
Then I had occasion to reformat my HD and reinstall Leopard 10.5.8.
That's when the CS2 installer failed, with the same message mentioned above.
When I called in, they basically said, buzz off....we won't help you.
First, this shows that their software is flawed.
They managed to allow this problem to occur due to inept programming.
Now they are either incapable, or unwilling, to write a programming fix for this problem.
It reeks olf ineptitude, plus colossal, inexcusable arrogance and disrespect for their customer base.
Just my humble opinion of course...and I've been a Photoshop user since 1990.

If I boot to the "Recovery HD" I get a message "Installation Failed, Try re-intalling" Which would be a fine idea, but I can't because if I re-start installation from the hard drive I get the above errors.
I've burned the "InstallESD.img" to a DVD, but it also doesn't seem to work. Comes up as though I'm in the Reco

Here's what I did to get Lion installed:
Burn the installer to a DVD and install from there. It worked for me. Here's what you need to do:
First you need another computer running at least 10.6.8.
1. On the other computer go to 'App Store' (make sure you're logged in to the App Store with the AppleID you used on the troubled computer)
2. Click on 'Purchased' in the 'App Store' window's toolbar
3. If you are on 10.6.8, and haven't downloaded Lion on that computer just click "Install" to download the installation application.
3. a, if the other computer is already running Lion, you'll need to re-download the installer.
3. b. Hold down 'Option' when selecting 'Purchased' then you click "Install"
4. When the Lion Installer starts up, just quit it. You want to work with the Installer application.
5. Find the "Install Lion OS X" application in the 'Applications' folder.
6. Hold down 'Control' and click on the application and select 'Show Package Contents'
7. Find 'InstallESD.dmg' which is in the "Shared Support" folder and copy it to your desktop.
8. Burn 'InstallESD.dmg' to a DVD ('Disk Utility' is simplest to do this).
9. Put the new install DVD into the computer that has Lion partially installed and reboot holding down the "C" key.
10. run the installer as normal, selecting your harddrive as the target.
In my case, when it rebooted to the harddisk the Lion installer started AGAIN. If this happens, let it run. Then you should be done.

Back up all data.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.

Install Failed - The Disk is damaged [Please Help]

Hi, i am new to mac stuff i just got my macbook everything works fine but whenever i try to install .pkg files it opens installing and prepares for install and when i click continue it keep says "install failed The disc is damage". am trying to install ps2 emulator i downloaded it from psx official website, it has all the files that mac would need to install but it do not install.. i thought there might be something wrong with emulator so i downloaded another software and the problem remains same. it works fine with my another macbook so i guess there must be something wrong in OSX . Please help solving this issue.
i am running leopard 10.5.8 at 4GB RAM 160 HDD.

You need to try repairing the hard drive using Disk Utility. If that does not work, you could try another tool, like DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro, but my personal advice would be to just erase the hard drive. (Of course, you'll want to make sure your data is well backed-up first.) If that doesn't work, your drive has failed and will need to be replaced.

There is definitely more amusing endeavours in this world, than trying to understand why an SQL Server install failed. The log files are verbose - but somehow the real information about what went wrong seems to be hiding. Never have proverb about not being

What account? I supposed you have already asked yourself that and just shaken your head.
But there is another error code 2203, NET HELPMSG 2203 says "The password parameter is invalid." And I note that the source is apparently on a share.
So where is my guess: the MSI installer - which runs as a service, somehow does not have permissions to read the installation from the share. Or is trying to log on to the share with your username/password? No, I don't know, I am just speculating widely.
But my advice would be to copy the installation directory from the share to a local disk.
Maybe that CryptAcquireContext is significant as well - I don't know.
Oh, wait, here is something just before the section above in the log:

Exactly what that means, I have no clue, but it could be a Windows problem.

The installer runs but stops half way through (during "running scripts") and gives the error message in the pic below

When I clicked the link you provided, it LOOKS like your school has created custom install packages... so check there

How to fix the last mac update? Every attempt to install fails

The last mac update does not install in my desktop, and actually corrupted my iTunes. Any body knows waht to do?

I have in the iMac MacOS X Version 10.6.8 My iTunes was version 10.6. The software update I am trying to install include three things:
- iTunes 10.6 (last release)
- Remote Desktop Client Update 3.5.2
- Security Update 1.1
After several attempts the sale occurs each time:
1. A message during instalation stating that there was an error and the update could not be installed
2. After restaring iTunes does not work any longer, the following message appears:
"This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes"
Trying to install iTunes directly from the download page og Apple produces also an error message and does not install the program

DPM 2012 Install Fails, The Database was not Created ID 811

Hi.
I've tried installing DPM on a Standalone Server (SQL + DPM), and get the "Database was not Created" error. I initially tried DPM 2012 R2, and found that there is an issue with Disjoint Namespaces, so went to DPM 2012 SP1, but still getting
the same error.
The Install Account has full access rights (sysadmin) to the DPM SQL Instance, however cannot seem to get it right. The account using to do the install has full Enterprise admin, Domain Admin, Backup Operators & Administrators rights.
When opeining SQL Managemet studio, I can see the database has been created but the setup fails and requires me to revert.Here is the last few lines of the Install Log File, please help I always mark as answer.

I just tried to install VS2013 update 1 ("Run As Administrator") from the ISO image and the installation finishes with a lot of messages like these:
"JavaScript Tooling: The form specified for the subject is not one supported or known by the specified trust provider."
"Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 IntelliTrace core x86: The form specified for the subject is not one supported or known by the specified trust provider"
I have 19 of these messages.
I had a quick look at the log file and I see this block of messages repeated quite a lot (for different files, not just "PerfTools_CORE_x86.msi"):

Most of the same error as far as I see are due to corrupt installer. Please try use fciv.ext tool from this site:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290/en-us
Then use sha-1 number to compare it with the one listed here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=41650
SHA-1: 51403CAF8E5E9799ACF1F3A0DA0E46390CD2FB16
If it is not the same, you have to redownload your ISO, it is corrupt.

Mac Office 2011 Install Failed: The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.

Here is what I've tried (from the Microsoft support pages):
Safe install mode
Custom Install (deleting norweigan and other languages)
New User "test" account install
free trial download (also failed)
I've installed this three pack home and student software on my Mac Book pro at home running OS Lion.
I need it for my work computer, the 10.6.8 too. (student use)

The problem is commonly associated with expired signatures.
To fix the problem set the clock to a date prior to March 23 and try installing the software packages again.

From the exception help link, we notice that, the issue could be due to that an attempt fails to install SQL Server Native Client on a computer where SQL Server Native Client is already installed.
I recommend you to check if there is already an existing SQL Server Native Client on your computer. If there is an existing one, you could uninstall it and install SQL Server again.

Stay away from Kaspersky - it's known to cause problems on Macs.
If you feel as if you must have some sort of AV software on your machine, try Sophos for Mac - it's free and I tested it for about 7 months and found that it worked just fine with interfering with my machine. But PLEASE NOTE that I had a number of kernel panics using it running Mavericks (10.9).

Installing from a new retail disc. I get all the way through the steps, but as soon as the actual installation process begins, I get an error message:
