3 CCD vs HD

I know this is a bit off topic, but what the heck. We're in the process of buying a new video camera. My question is: Do we go with a 3CCD or a HD camera? Since our projects will not (or rarely) be shown on HD TVs, is there a point of shooting with a HD camera? In other words, what is closest to broadcast, HD or 3CCD cameras?

Strictly for comparison,
I will use two prominent panasonic cameras.
1. the 3ccd dvx100
2. the HD HVX
The first question to ask yourself is cost. What is your budget? If you have less than $5,000 I would just get the dvx, a great audio set up and some nice lens adapters, etc.
If your budget is more in the $10,000 range, go for the HD camera!
Even if you are only going to be viewing your work on a television screen, the truth is that more lines of resolution look MUCH BETTER!
For a good juxtaposition, look at the local news (Standard Def) versus 24 (shot on HD).
However, another element that is a necesity is SPECTACULAR LIGHTING! No matter what video camera you use, your final product will only be as good as you light and expose for the final look that you wish to achieve.
One last thing- post production workflow. Does your mac have the capacity (ram storage, processing...) to handle an HD workflow? If you do not know, do a search on this forum.
You'll find some great answers.
also, check out http://www.dvxuser.com/
they have great comparisons of DV versus HD.
Good luck.

  • Limit break of my CCD ???!!!

I've used PCI-1409 IMAQ card,Sony XC-75 CCD(RS-170) and 5411 function generate card to build up my image acquire system. When I trigger the IMAQ card,at the same time,5411 send a waveform to the sample which I want to observe.I download the "IMAQ AVI read write example" from NI website and modify it to fit my need.
Because my experiment is time-critical,so I record the time when each loop performed in the avi acquisition part.I define the time when i=0 performed is "T0",i=1 is "T1",and so forth.By the result of my program ,T1=114 ms,T2=118 ms,T3=136 ms,T4=169 ms,T5=202 ms. What a weird result ?! The highest frame rate of my CCD is 30fps.Time interval between T0 and T1 is too long(114ms),and between T1 and T2 is too short(only 4 ms !! ) Tim
e interval between T2 and T3 is not normal(18ms),too. after T3,the time interval between each frame is 33ms,on coincidence to 30fps.I don't know where the problem is. Is the first delay between Frame 0 and Frame 1(114ms) caused by the initiation of 5411 ?? And I can't explain the "4ms" between Frame 1 and Frame 2 .Thanks for any help.

In your program, you are timing the loop, not the acquisition. The timer value is probably read at the start of each loop (never can be sure with parallel processes). The acquisition takes a few loops before it synchronizes with the timer value.
If you want to time your acquisition more accurately, put the timer read in a sequence with the acquisition. Immediately after completing the acquisition, the timer will be read.
Another option would require counter-timers, so the timing could be done completely in hardware and would be more accurate.
Even accounting for the timing irregularities, it looks like you may be missing the first frame. I would probably set up a continuous buffer instead of using grab to make sure no frames are missed.

  • Connect camcorder drivers for a Sony CCD-TRV608 Hi8 Camcorder for Windows 8.1. How do I SOLVE? New camcorder?

There are no drivers for a Sony CCD-TRV608 Hi8 Camcorder for Windows 8.1.  How can I solve this problem?  Do I need to buy a newer or different model that plays video8 and videoHi8 tapes that IS compatible?  Its a shame because I searched for months for the power cord and bought connecting cords for USB and the old fashion three RCA plugs for a VHS VCR and now I cant use them.

Dear Comrade VideoGeek, Yes, I am extremely frustrated, and you have my sincere apology if I was rude to you.  I should have known better than to say unwise and unkind things to you.  My bad entirely.  Sorry!! The things you don't know are that Windows 8.1 does not under ANY circumstances acceps USB video streaming.  Not from my camera and not from Dazzle or ANY other device or cable.  That is written into STONE by Microsoft.  Can't do nothing about it.  That's a barrier that cannot be broken or worked around. The other thiing you don't know is that I do not have RCA outlets on my camera.  I bought it assuming it must have as most devices until then did and got it home in 2001 or whenever and found to my great dismay that it ONLY has a USB output.  Not multicolored RCA jacks of any kind.  That is also a barrier that I cannot break unless I buy a used camera that takes my tapes and DOES have RCA outputs.  My bad.  I should have returned it immediately at the time, unfortunately I was too ill at the time to do so. I know you were only trying to help.  I'm sorry if I was snippy with you.  You were extremely kind to try to help.  And I appreciate you.  Hopefully other people will see your answers and they will help them. Meanwhile, I'm banging my head against the Apple walls trying to find out which product of theirs MAY be able to work for me and which is the best solution for me all around and that too is a nightmare. Thank YOU for being so kind!!  And for respoding  with kindness.

  • How to change ACH File ID Modifier in ACH CCD File in SAP SAPFPAYM program?

    Hi,
We are using ACH CCD File transmission using PMW to send ACH file to get incoming customer payment to the bank. In one F110 run, we have multiple house banks in a single company code, so we will have three different files to send. Here our issue is since these three files are generated through a single payment run, the date and time stamp on the three files will be same so we will have the same File ID Modifier in the Header record of the ACH file. But bank is not able to identify these three files as unique files because the File ID Modifier is same for all three files. In SAP unless these files are generated at different time, they all will have same File ID Modifier. Now we need to change this as per banks requirement. Can any one please help me on how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
Agree with your last comments about File ID of DMEE file.
But if bank is same but has different accounts in different branches, to distinguish them we have SWIFT code or IBAN.
The same file means the same DMEE generated file, probably with different tags with different data. As long as the final bank is same for ex. ICICI, it may have branches in different states but usually the format will be same for a bank , but the value of the tags may differ for different branches.
    Cheers,

  • Does USD NACHA CCD Plus Format support one single payment with one vendor?

    Hi,
We are implementing USD NACHA CCD Plus Format file for my customer.
    Have the following query:
Does USD NACHA CCD Plus Format support one single payment with one vendor and another single payment with
different vendor in single file or will it generate two files for two payments or will it support single payment only.
Can anyone help us in this regard.
    Thanks,Venkat.

I have created one invoice1 with one vendor and another invoice 2 with
different vendor processed the PPR using USD NACHA CCD Plus Format .
Both two payments came single file.
But we know that USD NACHA CCD Plus Format support Single Payment only.
Can anyone help us in this regard.
    Thanks,Venkat

  • Issue with ADDENDA for ACH CCD

    Hi All,
We need to display the addenda record for each vendor (Example invoice details). However, the file that we are able to generate shows this data only if there is one invoice per vendor in the payment run (REGUH-RPOST = 1).
We need to know if there is any setting which can control this? We are running the classical payment run report RFFOUS_T and cannot think of moving to PMW at this moment.
    Regards
    Neelav

    Hi Neelav,
For ACH you need to perform couple of steps:
    1.     Assign “RFFOUS_T” program in FBZP under Payment Methods in Country Tab for ACH relevant payment method   (APXY).
    2.     Create ACH Variant in OBPM4
SPRO-- SAP Customizing impl Guide-- Financial Accounting ( New) -- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable-- Business                                    Transactions- - Outgoing Payments -- Automatic outgoing Payments-- Payment Media --Make settings for Payment Medium Formats from                  Payment Medium Workbench -- Create and Assign Selection Variant)
    3.     If you are looking for customize 7th Record then Implement USER Exit “RFFOX104”
And in F110 variant select Additional record check box.
    4.     Assign company number in house bank configuration.
If you don't want 7th customize record then you can use CCD and PPD payment method  format, instead of RFFOUS_T program in FBZP you need to Assign Format as ACH and Format Supplement as CCD and PPD.
In this case you need to configure(SPRO--SAP Customizing impl Guide-- Financial Accounting ( New) -- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable-- Business Transactions-- Outgoing Payments -- Automatic outgoing Payments-- Payment Media --Make settings for Payment Medium Formats from Payment Medium Workbench -- Create and Assign Selection Variant) OBPM1, OBPM2, OBPM3 and OBPM4. No Need to change any configuration in OBPM1, OBPM2, OBPM3, just need to assign ACH Batch Header and company identification as company number(Whatever you assigned in House bank configuration)
Create and Assign APP(F110) Variant under Program “RFFOAVIS_FPAYM”
System will create automatically Header record, batch header, detail record, batch control record, header control record.
         Thanks & Regards

  • Doubt in ACH CCD Format

    Hi
We are using ACH - CCD format and for Line 6, we need the foll input:
Individual identification number: Company's identification number for the receiving company. When I checked it, this is stored in
    DTAUSCCD7 - CCD7 - Identification Number
Where to maintain this field to be picked into the file format?
    Regards
    Srini

    > But , heard, one cannot place a multiline data as a single message in the JMS Queue.
That is wrong. You can put anything in the JMS queue, even binary.

  • How do I make a labVIEW program for a linear CCD camera?

Hi, I'm pretty new at LabVIEW and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to connect my linear CCD image sensor (Toshiba TCD1304AP) with my computer. I know I need a DAQ device, what would work best for this particular CCD? After I got that connected, I need to create a LabVIEW program that displays the light detected by my CCD. Does anyone have a similar program or template I can use as a model? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello,
I'm not sure the type of signal that is generated as an input to a DAQ device. This could either be an analog or digital input. The signal type will determine how you make your program in LabVIEW. You will also need to correlate the signal level to the light detected. That will be determined by your sensor. I don't have any programs or templates for this, but if you look at the basic analog or digital input examples, you might get a good starting point for DAQ device programming.

  • Nokia Lumia 1020 with three hot pixels on the CCD....

Okay, i have a two weeks old brand new Lumia 1020 and noticed that whenever i took a photo or record a video, i get an L-shape of three hot/bright pixels somewhere in the middle of the photos or videos themselves, which could mean these hot pixels are burned on the camera's CCD directly. I can also see them live on the Lumia's screen, though if i zoom in on the live view passed a certain level towards the maximum zoom, they vanish. But, on most zoom levels and of course when no zoom is used, i can see them clearly, unfortunately...
The attached image shows these three L-positioned bright pixels...
Also, check the video below for better understanding; i'm just shooting the black plastic frames in-between my two monitors, to get a dark area for easily spotting the three bright pixels. When i zoom in and out, you can see that passed a certain zoom point, they dissapear and reappear. Also, when i move the camera around, they follow along the movement. The video is a cropped-down version of the 1:1 1920x1080 original version, just to get a smaller file size: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g9zfcy3vivb1nku/HotPixels.mov
    So, i'm wondering...
Is this serious hardware mulfanction problem valid for a phone replacement, or this is something that warranty may not cover ?!
    Thanks...

It's hardly deep hacking. The repair facility opens the phone, takes out the camera module and puts a new one in.
Your warranty does not entitle you to a full replacement unless the phone is not repairable (in genral) and this should be a painless and easy fix.
While in some countries you would be entitled to a new phone if a fault is detected shortly after buying the device you said you bought it a week ago which would generally be too much time gone by for that so I anm pretty sure it's a repair.

  • CONNECTING SONY CCD-TRV25 CAMCORDER TO A MACBOOK

What connection device do I need to connect a Sony CCD-TRV25 Camcorder to my Macbook

You need a device to convert the analog signal to a digital one. Many digital camcorders have this capability, so you could get a new camcorder and use it to pass through the analog signal and digitize it. Or you could get a single-purpose device like this:
    http://www.avalive.com/Grass-Valley-Formerly-Canopus/ADVC-300/35331/productDetai l.php?utmsource=googleBase&utm_medium=feed&utmcontent=ADVC-300
You plug the AV cables from your camcorder into it, and run a firewire cable from the box to your computer.
HOWEVER: which MacBook do you have? Newer ones do not have a firewire port. In that case, you are better off having someone else digitize the video for you and putting it on a hard drive.

  • 16:9 CCD

I have a Panasonic PV-GS500 and it shoots in true 16:9 SD on miniDV, not anamorphic because it has a 16:9 CCD. Is there a setting or can I create one that will allow me to edit/export in true widescreen, not 4:3 with letterboxing? So far I can't find an "easy setting" to do this that isn't HD, and my camera isn't HD!
iMovie '08 does this for me automatically, but I hate the new setup and I don't want to use it.

But I don't think its anamorphic. The camera didn't do any cropping or squeezing of the pixels as they were being recorded. My main problem is that I can't export to iDVD without it playing back on my dvd player as a 4:3 presentation with letterboxing. But if I make the same video in iMovie 08 it will automatically burn and play in full widescreen....Help!

  • ACH CCD vs CTX

If an ACH payment file is created for 1 vendor and it has 2 or more
invoices paid within that payment, NO addenda (record type 7) records
are produced. If there is only 1 invoice, then the addenda record is
    produced.
How do I get multiple addenda records (record type 7) for each record
    type 6?
    SAP has responded:
"with a single payment the system does not create the addenda record.
It will only create it only if you pay a single invoice per payment.
    As per the development team,
"Addenda record must be created only for one invoice but not for
multiple invoices and this conforms to the ACH rules issued by NACHA.
So reported query is not the problem but is the standard behaviour as
    per ACH regulations".
Hence please be informed that the ACH CCD only allows one addenda recordper payment. As an alternative to this you may consider using CTX instead"
My question is:  How do I use/configure CTX??

    Helo SAP Gurus,
Can some one help in configuring CCD/CTX/PPD, incase already using payment medium RFFOEDI1, the IDOC is being sent to bank through EDI file
What are the additional configuration required for ACH through IDOC?
    appreciate your help

  • PMW to create ACH  CCD+ TXP Addenda format for remitting withholding taxes

Hello, I am looking for documentation for creating the ACH CCD+  with the TXP Addenda format for tax payment remittance using Payment Medium Workbench (PMW).  Is there a standard payment method and format that can be used?

    Hi Rick,
You might need to tweak standard DMEE formats 'ACH_CTX_FG' or 'ACH_FG_BULK' to include TXP addenda information. You can do this through transaction DMEE. Use these DME formats in Payment method/Country settings (Transaction OBVCU). SAP provided payment methods 'D' or 'T' for US in standard system with above formats and format supplements 'CCD' and 'CTX'.
You can configure formats 'ACH_CTX_FG' or 'ACH_FG_BULK' in transaction OBPM3; user exits available.
Use transaction OBPM4 to set up the variants for formats.
You can execute program SAPFPAYM to create DME files after completing the payment run through F110.
Please award points if you find above information is useful.

  • CCD+ Limitations

Is anyone sending ACH payments in CCD+ format? If so, how are you controlling the 80 character description limit?
    Thanks for any input,
    Jennifer

    Hello,
As far as I know, for one single payment you have 80 character space for description.
This 80 characters are not enough for you/your client?
Otherwise use CTX (CCD was the old format before CTX)
Here you can add 9.999 agenda records, I thinks this will be enough
Difference between ACH CCD and ACH CTX
3 formats: PPD, CCD and CTX
