3 days ago Flash Player quit working in IE 64-bit, still works in Firefox ???

Hello........
As of approximately June 16th or so, I've not been able to see most videos in IE 9 64-bit.
I have no problems with videos / Flash Player in Firefox.
On the New York Times webpage, for example, there is a video area that now says
However, I DO have Flash Player installed!  I've even uninstalled it and reinstalled it.
I've got the latest version of Flash Player.
I've also done a System Restore, thinking that might help.....but it had no impact on this issue.
Any thoughts?
thanks much -
Richard

Here is solution I used for IE10, Window 7 64 bit:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie10-windows_7/ie10-says-adobe-flash-player-is nt-installed/d3c1eda6-cabc-4ca5-b4d9-dcba0c3aaad5
1. Internet Explorer> Tools (or Alt + t)>Internet Options>Programs>Manage add-ons (Show: All add-ons) verify that the Shockwave Flash Objects are enabled.
2. From Safety on the IE Command Bar (you may have to right-click the IE menu or IE toolbar and enable the Command Bar) uncheck ActiveX Filtering.
If that helps, it would be safer to re-enable ActiveX Filtering and make an exception for the affected sites. See this article:
How to use Tracking Protection and ActiveX Filtering:

  • Adobe Flash Player Quit Working

I am running Windows Pro 7 (64-bit) and MSIE 9.
For some unknown reason, my flash player quit working. No big deal, as I went to Adobe's download page and first obtained their uninstall executable. I used it to completely rid my machine of it's original Adobe Flash Player.
Next, I went to download the latest version (and have done so probably 7 or 8 times now). I have tried two methods.
One, installing it onsite (the app reaches 7% and completely stops).
Secondly, I download the installer to my machine and double-click it. Same thing, the installer stops at 7% and it's done.
I have researched this problem since yesterday, trying to solve it, to no avail. I have turned off my anti-virus, my anti-malware, I've turned off just about everything except my computer but nother works. I have switched between ActiveX filtering and back again, yet the same results.
I cannot get past the 7% download of Flash Player from the site.
Can you recommend a third party exe that may work without having to download from Adobe's exe?
    Thank you.

Mike, again, thanks for the assist.
Now, as a result, on the below page....
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
I can now see the Flash 'test graphic' on that page (I couldn't before).
However, regardless of which site I go to that host FLV's or flash videos, including YouTube, they won't play. What does tkae place, is the timer on the bottom of the video appears, as does the 'loading spiral' but the video never materializes.
Do you know if this has something to do with ActiveX now being turned off or is there something I may be missing here?
    Thank you.

  • IMAC Flash Player Quit Unexpectedly

Previously working fine and a couple days ago I get the message that Flash player quit unexpectedly

This is usually a permissions issue.
Either repair them using Disk Utility or go deeper and use AppleJack.
One way or another, once they're repaired, if it still quits unexpectedly, get back here and we'll look at other things.

  • Adobe Flash Player Installer / uninstaller 10.1 R85 has stopped working

I cannot get Flash player to install on my desktop.
This is the message i get whenever I try to install latest Flash player:
"Adobe Flash player installer / uninstaller 10.1 R85 has stopped working"
And it just quits, cannot continue. I've tried uninstalling...but nothing.
    Running IE8 with Vista 32 - Home Premium SP2.
    Thank you

NO, just a windows pop-up with the message:
         "Microsoft Windows
         Adobe Flash player Installer/Uninstaller 10.1
         r85 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
         available."
And then just the option to "close program". This happens at the point of me trying to install the
program from the saved download on my desktop, directly through a website or any other method I've tried.
    Thanks

    Hi Zaffar,
It sounds like you might not have the newest version of Flash installed. Firefox will stop some older versions of Flash from running in order to protect your security.
To install the latest version of flash:
    # Go to this page on the Adobe website: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
    # About three quarters on the way down the page is a section titled ''Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives''
    # Tap the first link in that list to download Flash 11.1.115.81
    # Once the download is completed, install Flash by swiping down from the top of your screen to show your notifications. Tap the ''Download Complete'' notification to start the installation.
    # When the installation is finished, quit Firefox and then relaunch it.
    # Enjoy your newly-working Flash! :D
I hope this helps. Reply to let us know if the problem is fixed!

  • Getting "the application install adobe flash player quit unexpectedly' error message when trying to

When trying to install flash player update on my mac running osx 10.5.8.   I get error message "the application install adobe flash player quit unexpectedly"  I've tried uninstalling the application and restarting my computer. But when I click the install icon  it quits unexceptionally every time.
    Please help!

    Hello,
Flash Player is no longer supported on OS X 10.5.8.  The last version to support OS X 10.5.8 is Flash Player 10.3.  Flash Player 10.3 is available for download from this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html.

  • After Flash Player 10.1 update, BitmapData copying no longer works?

    Hi,
I recently updated to the 10.1 flash player. However, after the update - none of the application within which I'm using the BitmapData class (AS 2.0) work anymore. The source graphic loads fine, but the .draw procedure that used to work fine no longer works at all.
I'm definately not alone on this issue, as a number of my colleagues in the office have reported the same behaviour. Once I uninstalled the 10.1 update and reinstalled an older version 9.x update, the BitmapData copying works fine again.
Bit stumped on this one. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
An example of one of the SWFs that use this facility is shown at the top of the page here (in the grey box area):
    http://www.southeastfarmmachinery.net/
Here's a screengrab of the issue in question:
I'm running Windows 7 (32bit), this issue seems to affect Flash Player in all browsers (tested in IE 7, IE 8, Firefox, I haven't got around to testing it in Chrome, Safari or Opera etc..).
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
    Andy

Thanks for the reply, but I think the problem isn't as simple as you suggest.
Firstly, I'm not sure why I would need to update my video drivers to the latest version, when clearly this functionality was working 100% correctly before the Flash Player update. And on this same note - what about the many devices that run OEM hardware (i.e. laptops) that have pre-baked drivers that are never updated? (Thanks, nVidia!)
Secondly, I'm pretty surprised that the suggestion was made to disable hardware acceleration. Why would this be necessary? I  understand that Flash Player ties into the GPU for some tasks - but as far as I'm aware, the visuals we working in one version (presumably with the default hardware acceleration enabled), and now - they are not. Does this imply specific changes to the hardware acceleration code used in Flash? Or is it, as I suspect, a more serious problem with a fixed-bug that has unravelled another part of the player.
The main issue I have here is that we now have many clients complaining that their flash clips we've made (that use similar functionality as that linked to above) no longer work - and they see the same white screen.
I appreciate your insights here - but you must appreciate that we can't just start emailing all our clients saying, "Oh, by the way - can you go into 'x' control panel and disable your flash hardware acceleration, oh and whilst you're at it - download and install the latest video drivers for your machine.". They'd have a conniption - and we can't expect our clients to just do all of that for the sake of a mistake made by Adobe.
You mentioned that this isn't the right forum for raising these specific issues - although I can see that mostly all bug issues seem to end up here. Would you be so kind as to point out where I should be posting this issue, so that I can bring it to the attention of the right people?
I was hoping more people would notice this, but I appreciate that it's more of a developer-specific problem.
    Andy

  • Install Adobe Flash Player quits unexpectedly

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player v. 17 on my  mid 2011 iMac with 3.4 GHz Core i7 running 10.10.2.  Every time I double click on the Install Adobe Flash Player.app, I get a crash notification saying that Install Adobe Flash Player quit unexpectedly.  I have downloaded the file several times with the same result. I close Safari and turn off my virus protection software while trying to run the install.
