3 days of edited photos all of a sudden gone
I created a catalog for a wedding over a week ago, i edited 3 photos and then went to finish other work. On Monday i started editing this wedding catalog, I was about 70% done when this morning I opened up the catalog and there is no edited or picked photos in the catalog execpt for the 3 photos I edited a week ago.
All the photos are there but they are not edited anymore.
Its not backed up!!!
How do I get my edited work back ? and how on earth did this happen ?
I am using Lightroom 5 on a PC
Here's my guess ... you accidentally created/opened a new or different catalog.
Look under File->Open Recent and try opening all of the catalogs listed there to see if your work appears.

Faces, Location and Edit Photos all at once?
Is there anyway to label Faces, assign the location to a photo and use the photo editing features all at once?
When I import new photos, I want to sort through, edit and organize them once. But there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. Any tips for ways to speed this clumsy workflow up?No

Why is iphoto having trouble with rotating photos all of a sudden?
i've been using iphoto for a few years. suddenly it un-rotated all of my auto-rotated photos (which screwed up all of my face tags) and now when i upload new photos, if they auto-rotate during the upload they appear in the preview of a whole event, but if i double-click to see a vertical photo, or try to do a slideshow, i get the triangle with an exclamation point in it, indicating that something's wrong with the file. is anyone else having this trouble? or have any idea what to do?
thanks...I've never used the Flickr feature so don't know if that as any bearing on the problem. if you're satisfied with the newly "fixed" library you can delete the copy of the original library that you made.
However, since you're having problems with rotated photos you might try this and see if the new library has the rotated photos displayed correctly:
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
2. Open the library package like this.

3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4. Drag the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
If the rotated photos display correctly in this new library then the problem lies with the orther libraries being damages somehow. You may want to stay with the new library even though the projects, i.e. books, etc. and keywords are lost.
If you have a lot of keywords in your current library and want to move them to the new library you can by doing this:
1 - open the old library and select one photo.
2 - type Command+K to brinb up the keyword pane.
3 - click on all of the keywords that are not blue so that all of the keywords are blue.
4 - export that photo to the Desktop via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option. Select Kind=JPEG and check the two check boxes regarding keywords, locations, etc.
5 - open the new library with iPhoto and import the exported photo from the Desktop. That will bring in all of the keywords so that you don't have to recereate them one by one in the new library. -

Descriptions in Podcast library all of a sudden gone
I've been uploading podcasts for the past few months. The Revolving Door. (http://revolvingdoorpodcast.wordpress.com/). When I uploaded my latest podcast, all of the descriptions went away. If I go to my podcast page in the iTunes store, the descriptions are all there. However, the description does not show up in the Podcast Library. I'm not talk about the most recent descriptions aren't showing up. None of the descriptions are showing up. This has never happened before. I have tried unsubscribing and subscribing again. I've also checked the RSS feed the podcast comes from, but the problem doesn't appear to be there. Please help.
Something odd is going on: it looks like Feedburner strikes again - other people have had problems with it. The iTunes Store page found by searching or using the link has the first episode at the bottom and shows the summaries. The feed is said to be at http://feeds.feedburner.com/RevolvingDoorsPodcast - submitting this to FeedValidator shows the summaries but has the first episode at the top: it also highlights a few oddities:

So what is going on between Wordpress and Feedburner I don't know: it looks as if there are two versions of the feed floating about, one in reverse order: Feedburner may be serving up different versions dependent on what is calling it. If they have a help line you might get an answer there. -
Please help! I installed the iTunes update Wednesday night and Thursday night, everything was going fine. Then on Friday, I opened up iTunes and ALL of my music and my playlists were gone! I know I didn't do anything out of the blue to accidentally delete it all. And now, when I plug my iPod in, iTunes says that it is synced with another library. All the files still exist on my computer and I am properly logged in to the iTunes store and my computer is authorized.
Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what's going on? Is there a way I can transfer EVERYTHING from my iPod to iTunes (I am desperate to keep my playlists)? I would greatly appreciate any help.See if this link helps.

I pulled up itunes today and everything was gone, blank, and like I have never used it before. I haven't done anything to it. I was on yesterday, downloading some songs and everything worked great. I didn't delete anything or do anything out the ordinary. What the heck happened? Please help!
Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\. Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

Move edited photos between computers
I often edit photos on my Mac Air using aperture while on road. Once home, I need to move those edited photos to my IMAC. How can i move the photos from the Mac Air to the IMAC - retaining the original photos and edited versions?
If you're using Aperture in both locations, then typically you would export the project containing the new files from your MacBook Air and copy it to your iMac, where you would then import it.
Aperure supports this, but you need some sense of sanity about how you do it. If you're editing photos all the time in libraries that started the same on both machines, you won't be able to merge/reconcile the effort. -
Several days of edited photos disappeared after a force quit of iphoto, events are there but empty but when I try to reload from sd card it shows adited duplicates, but I can't find them on the mac. I have originals but would prefer not to have to edit again.
Back up your iPhoto library, depress and hold the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your database

My MBP is about a month old and it usually runs around 120 F for normal use. It of course goes up when I am using photoshop and dreamweaver, or I am video editing, but all of a sudden its getting really hot when doing nothing.
Today I came home from school, opened the lid up and it just jumped all the way up to 175 F. It then just dropped to 165 and then back up to 175. The fans where going like crazy and then it would cool to about 130 but in a few minutes it would shoot right back up again. Let me say now that I have it unplugged and its at a nice 113 F. It has never got that hot before though even when plugged in. I guess my computer always gets a little warm when I have my computer plugged in or charging, but never ever 175 plus degrees.
Any ideas what I can do to not let this happen again or keep it from doing it or why it is doing that.
Just to let you know, I had nothing running at all really, adium and safari. I used smc fan control to see the temperature and also a temperature thing that I downloaded for the menu bar.

Software quits all of the sudden
Hi. Many times (at least twice a day) my Illustrator closes all of the sudden. I use a mac with OSX 10.9.5 Sometimes, it shows an error, sometimes it doesn't. Any idea? This is the error:

I have just had jb Atlanta's problem while adjusting the contrast on a photo. I was creating a slideshow at the time. After a lot of reading up I was about to give up when I tried restoring the file to its original settings as you suggested. Bingo!
However, that would only work for me, if I restored the settings while in the slideshow. All data had 'disappeared' when I attempted to open the photo in its original project folder.

How to export all edited photos in a project
Once I finish editing photos in a project I often wish to export all of those photos, in their fnal edited form, to a folder which I then burn to a CD and give to someone. I have been using File-Export-Versions thinking that this would do the trick. However, it seems that this process exports the photo without all of my nifty editing. I've looke at the manual, but must be too dense to find the answer. Thanks for any help you can give.
What you are doing should work.
Here is a recipe -- try it and report back.
Select the Project.
Clear all filters.
Filter using the Rule "Adjustments" with the setting "are applied".
Add other Rules as desired (e.g.: Rating is 4★ or better).
Select all Images.
"File→Export→Version", and choose an Export Preset that meets your needs.
Masters are the un-changed (and never changed by Aperture) original files that you imported. Versions are Images that you have made by changing these in some way. Exporting a Version should always include any Adjustments present in the Version.
