3 Instnaces with same Oracle SID, How I do?

Plase look and your concern about follow scenario:
Server A is production, oracle sid = uno
Server B will be a stand by database from Server A, oracle sid = ??? "uno"
Server B will be QA database from Server A, oracle sid = ?? (uno)
- Product 8.1.7 on unix backup box
- I want to have one standby database with one unix user ora8i1 and sid="db1".
- I want to have a QA instance in same box with other unix user ora8i2 and sid="db2".
- Can I have it these?
- What about the listener, Do I need configurate it manually?
My Idea is:
1. Produccion rdbms sid='db1'
2. Backup server with stand by database sid=???
3. To have a QA instance from db1 on the backup server where the analyst can test their programs, before Produccion, sid=????.
4. Point 2 and 3 with Ora8i 8.1.7.1 on same unix hp box.
In the other words, I want to have on same hp unix box two instances from main production instance 'db1'. One instance have a stand by database and other instance have a QA test database, both instances have a dentical copy from 'db1' inicially.
What you suggest me?

Thanks - that helped. But when I tried to sync all my photo folders to the I pad 2, I tunes would add some but not all of the ones that were marked to sync, end the sync, then the I pad 2 would hang with the wheel turning, saying it was still syncing photos, and it would not end and the remaining folders of photos never appeared. I finally had to sync and re-sync over and over by adding one folder of photos at a time, then another and another.

Static Files with same name. How does apex determine which files to serve?

Hello, I'm using apex 4.2.1.00.08 and I cannot figure out how apex manages the static files and cannot find any help in the docs (other that some high level UI description).
The application is serving some file and I cannot find which one it is in any easy way.
I have a workspace where there are several files that have the same name, and I cannot understand how apex figures out which one to serve, and also don't understand what is value of associating a file with an application.
There are files associated with application 0, which don't appear to show up in the "shared components", but can be seen as

WHERE flow_id = 0;
and can apparently only be deleted using "SQL Commands" inside apex.
the URL called is something like
wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=13498126233076320&p_fname=myfile.css
so apparently the only parameters that matter are the workspace and the file name. The associated application is irrelevant.
apparently files linked to flow_id 0 have precedence over all the other files ...

Files associated with an application are referenced using *#APP_IMAGES#*
Files not associated with an application are referenced using *#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#*I referenced with #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#, but now I see that if I use #APP_IMAGES# the URL generated will also contain the application ID. This would help to discriminate between different files with the same name but linked to different applications ...

Thanks, but the documentation doesn't give much details ... apparently files referenced with #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# can still resolve to files linked to specific applications ... I would like to understand the actual workflow for the various cases (file references with APP_IMAGES, referenced with WORKSPACE_IMAGES, file associated with the application, with another application, with no application, with application "0" ...).
Also, I find it somewhat misleading that you can have files associate with applications that don't exist anymore (e.g. have been deleted).

I've made a benchmark test of my msi gtx 770 in 3dmark 11, and it has showed 144000 score(248000 gpu score and 58000 cpu score).
I saw benchmark test's scores on 3dmark.com and I saw higher than my scores(300000+gpu score) with same hardware(GTX770 + i5 4670K)
Why there are such a big difference in scores with same hardware and how I can increase performance of my hardware?

GPU:MSI GTX770 gaming 2gb
SSD: A-DATA SP900
2x 4gb ram

your scores of 250000-260000 are typical OC values and people who have 300000+ will either have it at a stupid clock rate or have it water-cooled on the GPU to allow for much higher boosts off it as it will be much cooler......
alot of people who get massive results will have manually clocked the card to probably maximum speed and pushed the Voltage to the Maximum too (that's what they do to get impressive results but that's not sustainable as the GPU will give up if ran like that for more then a few test runs as it will start to burn out the silicon and be very unstable)

I know I can create a function but, I dont want to read the table everytime it is called. Knowing that Database sid is going to be constant for next couple of years.
The procedure in which I am going to use database sid is called for almost every transaction in the database. I am trying to avoid IO operation for a constant value. I cant declare a global constant as it is going to be different for each environment Dev, QA, Production etc..and we are looking to deploy same code for all the environments. We are anticipating to have multiple databases for production too.

Yes, it is possible. If one is CI (PAS) and the second one is an AS (AAS). In this case there will be only one database.
If you are talking about two separate SAP systems with separate databases (Eg: A BI and an ECC) with the same SID then the problem will be with the database (Eg: Oracle)
The database will be installed under /oracle/SID/112_64 (ORACLE_HOME) unless one database is running on 10 G and in that case the ORACLE_HOME will be /oracle/SID/102_64
The next issue will be with the SAP file systems like /sapmnt/SID
The most important problem will be with the switch to the sidadm and orasid users and the conflicts there. If there is a need to stop one of the SAP systems and if you do a switch to sidadm and issue a stopsap command which system will be stopped ?
These are few of the many problems I can think of.
So if we are talking about two separate systems with their own databases I would rule out the possibility of having two systems with the same SID.

Hi Ahmed,
it could be possible from the TREX perspective , however such configuration isn't supported . The reason for this is that the SAP applications create indexes using the ABAP system ID and client as a part of the index names (f.e. esh:e10002~e10002~acc_sid~sid). As it's not possible to create an index with the same name 2nd time, you will not be able to use the TREX instance with two systems with same SID.

I have quality system on HP-UX oracle platform which has been upgraded from 4.6C to ECC 5.0
and schema owner for the database is still SAPR3
I have installed new Test system with version ECC 5.0 with same SID and now i need to refresh its database with Data from QAS system ... owner at Test system is SAPC11 which is new installation ECC 5.0 and where SID is C11.
I need to know once i restore data what steps i need to carry out at Test system
i.e like change ENV settings from SAPC11 to SAPR3.
Please note SID is same on both hosts. and owner is different SAPR3 and SAPC11

target machine with schema owner as default SAPC11 (sid)
Is there any other way out ... instead of doing reinstallation with schema owner SAPR3 / instead of doing Export-Import system copy method which again is as good as reinstallation.

when i will restore database from source to taget
al tables in target machine will be having owner as SAPR3 ( which came from source ) ...but my DB owner at Target machine is SAPC11 ( as far as ENV and all profiles are concerned ) .... cant i use SAPR3 user which got restored with backup of source to target to start my instance at Target machine... may be by changing ENV settings.

In our project we are using this type. Since in this project server in UNIX(DEC) and client is running on windows. We have created a listener which always listen requests from client and doing the according to the request.
Step1. create a request table, where u are inserting ur request.
step2. create PRO*C proram, which is listening request on the table. If there is any request, call the imp (executable). This is happening on server side.
Benifit. U can make a request from cleint and ftp the file client sit.
