3 libraries/devices, one apple id, sync help?

My iPod touch was connected to an itunes library on a desktop computer which crashed several years ago, my iPhone's library was synced with my dell laptop's itunes which also crashed, but when I replaced the hard drive I my new iTunes was just some of my old iPhone's library. Now, my new mac pro's library has the partial library from my dell (which I no longer have), plus a bunch of CDs I have imported. I am trying to consolodate all of the music on my MacPro so I can get rid of the iTouch and just put current songs I like on my iPhone. I know I've created a mess but how can I fix it??? Thank you!!

I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for them using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

  • ITunes Match with 2 iTunes-libraries and one Apple-ID

    Hello.
I am using iTunes on a Mac, iPhone and iPad.
I have two iTunes-libraries with one Apple-ID, one local on my MacBookPro an one with my HomeServer.
The change between the libraries is realised with a program named "Libra".
Now i have iTunes Match and the sync with the local library was pefect.
But what happened if i change at home the library when i want using the library with my HomeServer?
Is it possible or make it problems?
I hope you can help me.
    Thank you.
    Thomas

I'm not familar with Libra, but if it gives you a way for iTunes to be associated with another library at launch, meaning it looks and behaves the same way your original iTunes library does, then when you launch and link to that library, initially iTunes Match will be turned off.  You will have to turn it back on (if prompted to "add this computer, just do it, and if asked for your Apple I.D. just do it).
Once iTunes Match is turned on, it will scan your library and the results will be added to the initial match.  Providing everything in your second library is determined to be eligible (low-bitrate songs won't be, neither will audiobooks, videos, etc.) you will have a merged library available in the cloud

  • Multiple Devices, One Apple ID, iMessage Chaos

    Hi all,
Wanted to bring up a new "feature" of iOS 6 - probably already has been discussed here a few times, but this is a real pain and something that I think Apple has backwards.
My wife, daughter and I each have an iPhone 4, and son has an iPod Touch.  All of us have upgraded to iOS 6, and we all share one Apple ID.
Everyone is able to turn iMessage on without any issue, but - every OTHER device is given the option of accepting messages sent to the newly activated device.  They can either accept or deny the ability to do so, but then going into the iMessage settings they can reactivate this "feature."
Shouldn't the setup be that when activating iMessage from a device, it gives THAT device and only that device the option of whether the other devices have the ability to send / receive messages?
We were all wondering why on earth we were all receiving iMessages from friends of my wife, friends of my daughter, people I work with, etc.  It's a huge hassle - so much so that we have all turned iMessage off.
Big disappointment in this implementation - the option to share should be owned by the device that is turned on, not the other devices that are already on the account.
    Thanks,
    Scott

OK, I think I'm getting it.
Example:  dad, mom, son.   (we need 4 AppleID accounts)
    Dad's iPhone:
    iTunes AppleID = family@ me.com
    iMessage AppleID = dad@ me.com
    Dad's iPad
    iTunes AppleID = family@ me.com
    iMessage AppleID = dad@ me.com
    Mom's iPhone
    iTunes AppleID = family@ me.com
    iMessage AppleID = mom@ me.com
    Son's iPod
    iTunes AppleID = family@ me.com
    iMessage AppleID = son@ me.com
Family Computer -- each person has their own User Login.  So just like individual devices, we use the shared (family@ me.com) for AppleID on iTunes, but use our personal (dad@ me.com) appleID for Messages.
When Mom finally buy's an iPad and powers it up for the first time, it prompts her for an Apple ID.
From reading literature at Apple, I believe it initially applies this single AppleID to everything on your new device.  It's up to the user to go in and change iMessage (within iMessage, sign-out of current AppleID and sign-in with a different one)
    Is this correct?

  • Multiple devices, one apple id, many problems :)

    We have several apple devices:
    Me: iphone 5s, ipad mini
    daughter: iphone 6, ipad 3
    son: iphone 4, ipad 3
For years we have been sharing the same apple id, and the kids use their own email addresses for imessage.
Now, I'm trying to set up family sharing, and they would like to use the same addresses for imessaging.  But even after deleting the email from our apple account, it will not allow me to add to family sharing.
If I create new apple id's for the kids, will they lose any of the apps they currently use?  My son is very concerned about losing his "worlds" on Minecraft! LOL
Also, can I use their email addresses for new apple id's?
    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thank you

No. iDevices are single user devices. You cannot have two users with two IDs using the same device. Either they use one Apple ID or you buy one their own device.
Yes, Family Sharing will do that now.

  • How do you find out what apps have been downloaded to what phone with 5 lines under one apple ID?  HELP Nobody from the stores know how to do it.

How can you get a list of apps that were downloaded from each indivudal phone?  The are under one Apple ID.  Ex:  Phone #1234 has downloaded Facebook and Twitter.  Phone # 4567 downloaded Angry Birds and Temple Run.  Etc.    Even the people at ATT and Apple don't know how to retrieve it.

There is no such list of what is downloaded to each phone except in the backup. So if you have a recent backup of each phone you should be able to find an app that reads the backup files and would tell you what list is saved of the content on each phone.

  • Two iphone 4 Devices, One Apple ID - Help me Change

My wife and my son both have iPhone 4 devices.  At the current time they both use the same Apple id. My wife uses iCloud with her phone and iMac for business.   Last night my son update to iOS6 and in the process iCloud got turned on.  Now all of his Apps and Contact have migrated to my wifes device as well.  I need sons phone to have different id now without killing his or her data, How do I do this on his phone while restoring her world back to normal?
    She's not happy....Help

You will need to create a new Apple ID for your son.
The problem is that all the apps downloaded on the shared ID will still ask for that password when updating and they will update on the other devices. You will have to manually remove the apps you don't want from the devices.
It's issues like this that show why you shouldn't share ID's

  • Having issues setting up the use of two iTunes libraries on one Apple TV.  I can set up my iTunes library as I can turn home sharing on from my own computer, however, my fiance only has an iPad with home sharing turned on and it does not find his account?

I have a new Apple TV which I am struggling to set up with both mine and my fiances music.  I have a laptop, but my fiance only has an ipad and it only seems to sync my music library from my iTunes account.  He has homesharing turned on on his iPad but the Apple TV does not recognise his iPad.  It seems from the help that I have read online that homesharing works when you use the same itunes account, is not possible to be able to use two different itunes libraries with two different accounts (and only one computer)?
    Thanks

Both libraries would need to have been setup to use home sharing with the same Apple ID in order for that to work.

  • ICloud with multiple devices - one Apple ID

2 ipads - one for me and one for my children
1 apple ID - mine (kids aren't technically old enough)
2 - emails - .mac and .me (currently the kids have aliases under the .me which are collected in a folder
Somehow in the set up my original ipad was set up with my email ending in .me and the kids was set up with .mac
As the dust has settled somewhat in configuring both to have seperate imessage and facetime capablities which I have managed to do, I would like to switch the e-mail accounts so that the .mac account is listed on mine and the .me listed on the kids.
Is anyone aware of this situation and can help.
My secondary issue would be to find a way to use mail where my e-mail can be hidden from the kids.  I don't think this is possible but I thought I would ask?
    I appeciate your responses.

What, exactly, are you trying to do? You can use the same iCloud account on as many devices as you want, as long as you don't turn on iTunes Match. Once you turn on Match, you're limited to 10 devices total.
Is this what you want to do...same iCloud account, but different iTunes/App store accounts on each device? If so, you can do that also.

  • Multiple devices, one Apple ID

    Hi-
My husband and I share an Apple ID (multiple email addresses).  He often plugs in his iPhone to sync it to our iMac.  If I plug in my iPhone, will it delete my contacts and sync with what is uploaded to the computer (his contacts)?

There is that risk, but there are ways to avoid problems. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495 for advice on how to use multiple devices with the same computer.

  • Multiple devices one itunes account - need help!

We have one computer, 2 iphones & one ipad, all on the same itunes account and now I can't update my iphone because all of my husbands crap is on my phone and there's not enough storage even after purchasing more storage.
how can I set up my iphone on just MY account?  I don't want all of his apps & stuff on my phone, and now I can't update my phone, buy apps I want, ect...storage is FULL, but only on my phone.  His is fine....of course.
    Thanks for any help.

I have ipod touch, When you register the ipod Touch give it a unique name. I have also connected all three at same time unless there is an issue I have missed I have had no problem. YOu can also set an option so that when you connect the device itunes will not start and then you can manually start it and choose the device you want to upgrade..etc.

  • Different devices, one Apple ID - do not want to share apps!

My daughter has an  ipod touch, and I have an iphone.  We share an Apple ID, so that I can monitor her use.  I don't want every app that she downloads to also be installed on my iphone.  I am new to Apple products.  How do I keep the apps we download separate?

On the the devices go Settings > iTunes and App Store > Automatic Downloads > Apps > Off
In iTunes with the device connected to your computer select the device and navigate to the Apps Tab. At the bottom of the list uncheck the Automatically sync new apps option. This will stop iTunes from putting the apps on your device when you backup.
    Hope that helps

  • 3 different iTunes libraries on one Apple TV

Is there any way possible that I can be signed in to ONE iTunes store account on my 2nd generation Apple TV to rent movies and tv shows, then see my family's mac's and pc's? I have a mac. Then there are two other computers in my house all with different iTunes accounts. I was looking at other posts and I really cannot understand this setup. My apple TV is only showing one library at a time unless I sign someone else in my family out, then type all my credentials in. And back and forth seeing all my mac's and pc's with my iTunes account. This is really tedious. How can I see everyone's computer's all under the "computer" tab in the Atv?

Both libraries would need to have been setup to use home sharing with the same Apple ID in order for that to work.

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts on the computer which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
