3 prefPanes not working!

HI guys.
I have re-installed the bundled software after installing the 1.5.2 update and now a few of my preferences are unavailable.
I get the error
"Preferences Error"
"Unable to load xXX preference pane"
I cannot load Energy, Desktop and Screensaver, and Spotlight peferences.
I looked at the versions of the .prefPane files..all are newer Universal late 2007.
PLEASE if anyone knows anytihng..help?

Hi have another idea.
Go to your Hard Disc Utility and Check it.
Repair it.
And Repair the Autorisation of the Hard Disc.

Custom shortcuts addee via Keyboard.prefPane does not work..

Hi,
I read several sites that all refer to a way to create a shortcut for a menu command without one, ref.: <http://www.apple.com/pro/tips/keyboard.html>
However, that does not work at all for me. Never has. So what I am doing wrong? In particular, I would like to add a shortcut to open the main window of Address Book, after closing the window leaving the app running.
Anyonw could do me a run through? Cause the above mentioned procedure does not work.

The issue is typically a matter of focus. Particularly in Firefox. In IE, when the page loads and is presented, the Flash object (your Captivate movie) is given focus. So the keyboard shortcuts work. But that doesn't happen in Firefox. In Firefox, you must first click somewhere on the Flash object to give it focus. From there forward, shortcuts work because the Flash object is now listening for them.
In every class I facilitate I demonstrated this and advise that it's a good idea to have a button on the first slide. This serves two purposes.
It forces the user to click to proceed
It keeps the first slide paused until the user is ready
Yeah, before someone comes along and says: (in an annoyingly nasal tone) Mr. Man, you KNOW there is an option in Captivate to keep it paused at the start... I'm well aware that Captivate offers this option without adding a button, but I prefer it for the reasons above.

ISight not working after screen repair

My iSight is not working after a screen repair (which was damaged during Apple fixing the topboard!). Could it be possible that the camera is damaged in some way during a screen being replaced? I am a bit annoyed that they did not check the machine after all of teh repairs were made as I have a number of adverse issues with it now.
Has anyone else experience this after a screen replacement? I get the message that there is no camera attached, or that it is in use. I have followed threads regarding checking login items etc, to no avail.
The iSight is important to me as I am a long way from home. It is annoying that something seems to go wrong with the MacBook, when I most need it.

When an iSight isn't working, there are a variety of simple things you can try (see further below), but one thing few people think of, is to connect a Firewire or USB drive that contains a bootable system, which has previously been tested on a known-good Mac to make sure the iSight works when booted from that drive, and see if the problem still occurs with the Mac that's under test. That's a quick way of testing whether the problem is hardware or software.
Other things to try:
- Reset PRAM, NVRAM, and Open Firmware.
- Reset your Mac's SMU--see documentation for your Mac for specifics.
- Repair permissions.
- Make a new user account, and see if it happens there.
- Check Login Items in the Accounts prefpane for anything that might be causing the trouble, like printer or scanner items.
- Try what's suggested at www.eriymati.com.ar/isight/
- Reset the printing system in Printer Setup Utility, since some printer/scanner drivers can stop the iSight from working--if that helps, see if your printer/scanner can work with OS X's built-in drivers; if it can't, download the latest driver for your printer/scanner from its manufacturer's web site, and see if that allows the printer/scanner to work, without interfering with the iSight, but some manufacturers, including HP, Epson, etc. are still dragging their feet about making such drivers. If the printer/scanner driver still causes trouble, uninstall it, then replace the printer/scanner with one whose manufacturer has enough brains to write a driver that doesn't interfere with the iSight (some specifically state now, in their System Requirements, that they don't work with Macs that contain built-in iSights, so check this before you buy another printer/scanner).
Sometimes a non-working iSight is caused by something wrong at a "deep" System level (meaning, it might be caused by a single bad or missing file, but it might take days to find it)--if you find that to be the case, the quickest fix if you find the steps above (and others described here and elsewhere), is to reinstall OS X, either by doing an Archive and Install, or by making a bootable backup of the drive, erasing it, then using Migration Assistant to copy the data from the backup.

Keys Not Working - Weird?!

Hi Guys
I have a 6 month old black Macbook. Absolutely love it after being a Windows user for many years.
However, over the last month or so, a strange problem has appeared.
Sometimes (not always) when I log in, for the first 10-20 minutes, the delete, tab, space and right arrow key do not work.
Then, all of a sudden, they start working again.
I have upgraded to Leopard in the hope that it was a software bug, and am up to date with all my software updates. The guy in the shop where I bought it reckoned it was software rather than hardware related, but the Leopard upgrade hasn't fixed it.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this or how to go about fixing it?

I have had a very similar problem with my late-2006 MacBook. Delete, Space Bar, Tab, Up Arrown, and Left Arrow stopped working after a wake from sleep. I tried reboots, power downs, DiskWarrior, Repair Privileges, and SMC reset. Then I did a Safe Boot and the keys started working, and continued working after a normal restart. I suspect the PrefPane "Double Command", which I use to disable Caps Lock and provide a forward-delete function. I love those functions but the utility has always seemed just a bit flaky.

Back Forward arrows not working properly Safari 5.1.2

After upgrading to Safari 5.1.2 on Snow Leopard, I have run into a bug with the back and forward arrows. Most of the time they are greyed out and not working. I have to move back and forward with either the keyboard shortcut or the menu. Sometimes one or the other starts to work, but it is not clear why. I have not seen both working yet.

Here is what comes up (a lot!). I feel like the days of "Conflict Catcher" with MacOS 9 and before! Anyway, it is late here, maybe where you are, too. Thanks for all the quick replies. I need to get some sleep and will come back to this in the morning.

HT3669 SCanner for HP 4680 still not working after download of new siftware

The Scanner is scanning the document but the dicument does not appear in the computer. I have unloaded and reloaded the software using the intructions but it still does not work.

Pioneer Blue ray burner does not work in a Mavericks.

MY Pioneer Blu Ray burner BRD-RW 206D does not work and I get this message (The disc can’t be used because the disc drive is not supported (error code 0x80020025). I have the last firm ware update in it. It worked fine in Mountain Lion but not in Mavericks.

Hi, everyone
just wanted to report I've been successfully using my Pioneer BDR-208D for a couple of days now with no further problems.
I power-cycled and put to sleep the MacPro a few times, and burned a few DVDs and a couple of BD-RE disks.
So, to summarize my experience:
Pioneer BDR-208DBK in second (lower) bay
Mavericks on Mac Pro (early 2008)
Superdrive in upper bay
Drive not appearing in eject menu button, alt-eject on keyboard
dialog pop-up: "The disc can’t be used because the disc drive is not supported (error code 0x80020025)".
What I did:
Booted back into Lion
Inserted non-blank media in the BD drive (a CD in my case)
Rebooted into Mavericks with the CD still inside the drive
System found the drive and enable eject both on keyboard and menu
Disabled "Put hard disks to sleep..." in Energy Saver prefpane - this is what I believe stopped the seemingly random disappearing of the drive

Toast widget not working

The widget that comes with Toast 7 does not activate itself. In the manage widgets section it has a 'no entry red circle' symbol next to it. It appears on screen though, but does not allow for changes to be made on the reverse. A tick appears. Any help appreciated,

How to install the CD Spin Doctor dashboard widget:
Launch CD Spin Doctor 3.
Choose New Recording or Open Audio file.
Record some audio and click OK or open an existing AIFF file.
Select “Install Dashboard Widget” from the CD Spin Doctor menu.
The CDSD Recorder Widget is now installed and can be accessed by pressing Function-F12 or by clicking the Dashboard manager.
Note that the CDSD Recorder Widget can only be installed on Mac OS 10.4.1 and higher.
PS if that does not work try uninstalling the whole program and then following the instructions for installing the widget. Instructions for uninstalling Toast 7 are listed below:
Delete the Toast 7 Titanium software folder located in the Applications folder.
Press Command-F and enter "Roxio" into the search field. Delete the "Roxio" folder from these two locations:

After installing lion, my screen saver does not work

I installed lion, now my screen saver does not work. I have tried all the hot corners, nothing. Dashboard and mission control work fine but cannot start screen saver.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong.

Not work tablet UI on Prestigio 5080 PRO tablet

I read that browser.ui.layout.tablet = "1" can fix this problem. But it not works. I can work only in pnone interface that is not good for my 8'' tablet.

Why self-defined access sequences of free goods can not work?

Hi gurus,
I have maintained access sequences of free goods self-defined.but when i creat the SO it does not work!
when i used the standard access sequences ,it is OK .
Can anybody tell me why?

Dear Sandy,
Go to V/N1 transaction select your self defined access sequence then go in to the accesses and fields and check all fields are activated.
Make sure that these fields are flowing in your sales order.

I was under the impression that photoshop cc would not even install on windows vista.
What version of camera raw do you have?
In photoshop under Help>About Plugin does it list Camera Raw and if so which version is it?
(click on the words Camera Raw to see the version)
Camera raw doesn't work if it's a camera raw file or some other file type such as jpeg or tif?
What camera are the camera raw files from?
Officially camera raw 8.3 is the latest version of camera raw that will work on windows vista.

Adobe Bridge CS5 in windows 7 not working. I was using bridge perfectly for last 2 years. It stops working since 3 days. I tried to install updates. Showing some error to install.
Tried to install creative cloud..again some error. Error code : 82
Could you please advice how I can fix my adobe bridge.
