3 Restores in One week!!!

I have had to restore my touch 3 times this week! I havent had any problems with it since I've had it but once I started adding applications it's been on the fritz. This is ridiculous..has this happened to anyone else? I don't know if it's the latest update or apple is not mandating these developers?

You guys are lucky. I've had to do a complete restore every day this week having had no problems in the past 10 months. It started with the Touch hanging when updating some apps from the App Store, but the latest crash was just watching a video downloaded from the iTunes store. When I try to restart it just sits there with the Apple logo (for hours) and the only way out of it is to go to recovery mode - nothing else works. Apple, if you're listening, please help.

Then I send it to the suppler where purchased this phone they told me there is no way to fix this unless I give them the Id and password .know I don’t know where I can go because in my Location nobody know how to fix this problem.
At less I don’t know what I can do to fix this problem because I use this phone for my work and All my data and phone number in side this phone
Notes :- I have all the document ( invoice and box for this phone )which say that I phone for me .
I hope to get any answer from your good site other whys this phone will be useless for me

If you can't remember your apple id or password then sadly that phone has been bricked, without that infomation te activation lock cannot be removed by apple or anyone else.

Takes one week just to restore service???

Why does it take a week just to have some to come restore my phone/internet service when Verizon broke it in the first place? So I get no service from Verizon for one week and still paying them? For what? I feel I am being ripped off and Verizon should refund me one week of Phone/Internet service.

How to restore table data to one week old status

I have a table vu_med_reimburse and some of columns are VMR_MM, VMR_YYYY, VMR_ACTUAL_AMT the insert process to this table is done through another program but update of three columns are done throgh another program, by mistake all the values of above mentioned columns are updated to 0 about one week ago, is there any way to recover actual data without backup. the data samples are

Imac 27" quad core. screen dead in one week

This is the second 27" iMac I have purchased and both have died within one week. The first one was diagnosed with a bad component that regulates heat and caused the machine to shut off and the screen to have banding/flickering issues.
This new machine is literally one week old, and after spending one full day installing software and restoring time machine it wasn't touched for 5 days due to a busy work schedule. On the first real day of work at home (5 hrs) the screen went completely black. This time the harddrive is still working and I was able to launch in target drive mode via my laptop (hold t will firing up iMac) and get the necessary files off of it. Now I get the fun of wiping the drive so I can return yet another 27"imac. What has happened to Apple reliability, I still have a blue and white g3 that will run.
Frustrated is an understatement since now I am behind in my work and have to cart this heavy machine back down to an inconveniently located apple store.
The Apple support guy was nice enough, yet once again they deny this is a common issue (there are over 300 pages related to this- which has now been archived to prevent more responses, hence my new one) and he ran me through the normal nonsense: 1) unplug machine and wait a minute (what!? I thought that was a windows fix!!) and 2) hold command and option while also holding p and r as you turn on the machine -- even the support guy knew this wouldn't do anything. Apple needs to stand up and take responsibility for a machine that has serious issues!

Millions of folks have purchased that Mac with no issues whatsoever. The machine is a great design. Occasionally Apple's supplier's part may fail. That is to be expected when one deals with the millions of parts that make the various supply streams for Apple's products. This is why Apple has a manufacturer's limited warranty, plus gives you the option to extend that warranty. Unfortunately you have experienced two failures on new machines. But you are reporting that in fact they are completely different failures.

Restore iPhone with current iTunes on computer. See if better. If still problem, make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send to Apple for resolution. Of if easier for you, take receipt and iPhone, box and everything and return to where you bought it.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps, like resetting you iPhone, for example? Or restoring it?
If not by all means do so because your problem could be caused by software glitches that could be solved resetting or restoring.
Warranty is for one year from date of purchase and two years if you bought Apple Care at the time of purchase. If your iPhone has a hardware issue within warranty, it would be replaced by Apple. If it is already out of warranty, you might be eligible for an out of warranty replacement where you pay a much lower amount but this varies according to the country and currency, so it is better to check with Apple or with an authorized reseller.

I've returned 3 iPads in one week that completely quit working

The first one was activated and worked for 2 minutes until I selected maps. It then showed 25 lines horizontally and froze. Wouldn't allow rebooting per directions.
I returned it to a different Apple store and it was replaced. The second one froze in the Apple store. Employees couldn't restore it.
The third one lasted once week and then froze in Safari. Took it to the Apple store and it was replaced.
Now I'm on my fourth iPad in one week. What has happened to Apple? Been buying products since 1989 and never have I seen such poor quality.
Last store tried to blame me for the problems. Even when it refused rebooting in the store just out of the box.

The only thing I can tell you is that my iPad is working perfectly since day 1...

Rman restore from last week backup

Hi guys
i need to restore last week rman backup from .. we are not using catalog database.
i need to restore it on same machine with diff mount point ..
i know i can use tag option of restore specifically last week backup but its production restore so thought if anybody can give me list of steps i need to follow .. anybody who has done this before.
do i have to fire resetlogs at the end as its incomplete recovery .. i need last saturday backup .. don't want monday backup on top of it.
please help me in this.

You have to ensure that your controlfile, redo log file and database file locations are different from your production database.
Ensure that your instance parameter file specifies a different location for control_files
Use db_file_name_convert -- however, I prefer to explicitly name a new location for each datafile, in case your database files are spread across multiple directories and you miss one or more in db_file_name_convert. (you don't want RMAN to restore datafiles from the backup to the current locations and overwrite your production database files !)

When you went back to the place where you purchased this phone, & asked them, what did they say?
No one here can help you with this, nor can/will Apple. You need to take this up with whoever you purchased this phone from.

Can I restore just One Application through time machine? (vs. Migration)

Instead of Migration Assistant
I want to restore just ONE application (Microsoft Office)
1. I've plugged in my Time Machine
2. Time Machine is Not Configured
3. I Browse Other Time Machine Disks
4. I Use Selected Disk
5. I go to my latest Restore pane
6. I click around until I find the Application Folder
7. I click on Microsoft Office, and I press Restore
Am I doing it correctly? Or am I simply just Drag and Dropping into my Application Folder on my newly reformatted Mac?

That's probably not going to work. When you installed Office, it almost certainly installed other files in other places, and perhaps some "helper" apps, in addition to the main app. Unless you know what and where all those things are, and restore them, too, it's not likely to work well, if at all.

Your best bet is to reinstall it from the original disc.

ICal and Calendar sync one week apart for Repeating events

Hi,
First Post here. Look forward to sticking around. I have been reading the forum avidly since I received my iphone 3g on July 11th.
So here is the issue: It is in regards to events that I created on my iphone that are scheduled to repeat each week, but then end on a certain day. This works perfectly fine in the iphone so far, but when it syncs with iCal it always ends one week earlier than on the iphone. The iphone will remain the proper date, whereas iCal ends one week early.
I won't go on longer, but has anyone else had this issue? Maybe you should double check your dates if you have any repeated events scheduled in your phone, and compare them with iCal to double check they are right.
Any help appreciated.

One of my calendars in the list has vanished. It is not simply unchecked, but gone. It was all my own personal appointments, the calendars for other family are all still there. How do I restore that one calendar. I use iCloud and calendars is on.

One of my calendars (one of several) has vanished. It is not simply unchecked, but is totally gone. I have a MacBook Pro, iPad mini, iPhone 5c - this calendar is gone from all devices. I do have and use iCloud and calendars is turned on. I have turned off calendars and back on as well as turned off iCloud and then the device itself. Nothing has worked and this has all my own personal appointments on it. Any ideas of how to restore this one calendar and make it available in my list of the other calendars again?

There are a few applications out now that may be able to help you out. 1Password and LastPass are both password vault or lockers. They allow you to save passwords for applications and websites. That way you have a single password you use to keep the vault/locker secure and then all of your other passwords are stored for you so you don't have to write them down or try to remember them all.

One week of my iCal is frozen.

One week in my iCal is completely frozen (I cannot add any event in that week), and all the events I had in that week disappeared.
The events I had in that week still appears in my iPhone or iPad, but on iCal they do not appear.
What can I do to solve this problem?

Might just be a bad cache / preference file.
Troubleshooting:
1.) Backup all your data:
Backup your iPhone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Backup your computer Addressbook: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
Backup your computer iCal: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2966
2.) Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical and / or "ical"
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
