3 videos' names are enclosed in single quotes which I can't get rid of

These videos weren't from iTunes. Two came from AOL video, and I'm not sure where I got the third one. This is what I mean: http://matt.kinabrew.com/images/png/itunesannoyingsinglequotes.png
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the single quotes?
I've tried three things:
First, I tried removing the quotes from within iTunes. But playing any file put them right back.
Next, I tried removing the quotes from within iTunes, quitting iTunes, and renaming the files, but when I would play a file, the quotes would come back.
Then, I tried quitting iTunes, editing the quotes out of the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file, deleting the "iTunes Library" file, renaming the files in the Finder and re-importing the edited "iTunes Music Library.xml" file into iTunes. Again, playing any song put the quotes right around that file's name.
I thought this was just an issue with a single (corrupt) file until tonight, when I added two more videos to iTunes and saw the quotes around those, too. Now I think none of the files are corrupt and that it's a bug with iTunes.
This happens on both a Power Mac G5 and a MacBook Pro, both with all available updates installed.

Not a glitch. That is the way this works. Once you tap that cloud symbol to start downloading a movie, it sort of remains in limbo until you totally download it and then you can delete it as you found out.
Why it works this way is beyond me, but that's how it works on my iPad and that is exactly how it wrks on any iPad - at least as far as I know. I have seen many users describe this very same behavior that you did and once their videos were completely downloaded, they could then be deleted.

I try to get as many items as I can in the bookmarks menu toolbar (typically using 3 letter names). F4 adds an icon next to each name - taking up valuable space. How, please, can I get rid of the icons in the bookmarks toolbar so I have space for more bookmark names? Thank you.

If you remove the names then you may have a problem with organizing or searching for bookmarks. 
If you do not want to use the extension then you can achieve the same effect with code in userChrome.css 
That is what I would do.
Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Files are backed-up. Can I get rid of them on my computer?

Good afternoon. I recently purchased a OWC Mercury Elite Pro external hard drive. My intention is to store all video, music and photo files on this drive and keep only applications on my Powerbook G4. I understand that this will allow my Powerbook to run faster and more efficiently especially with video editting.
I have made a complete back-up already of the hard drive on my computer and it is on the external drive. Can I now go about removing all the music, video and photo files from my computer's hard drive? If so, what is the best way to go about this? Shall I just drag everything to the trash? Are there certain folders I don't want to get rid of? For example, in the Photos folder there is the iPhoto library. Can I just drag this into the trash? Will this effect any slide shows I have created?

Open the NetInfo Manager in your /Applications/Utilities/ folder and change the location of your account's home folder so that it points to the external drive; the new location will look like /Volumes/external/path/to/folder/ with the second item being the name of the external drive. Don't delete or alter any other accounts, groups, or properties. Once you've moved your home folder, log out and back in, and verify that everything is working properly; if it continues to work properly for a few days, delete the original home folder. You will need to connect that external drive whenever you want to log in to your account.

Download and install OmniDiskSweeper. It will tell you the names of the folders and files taking the most disk space.
If you are not absolutely sure about something please ask here before deleting it.

How can I get rid of directory path in front of my folder names in Folder listing in Library mode???

Im using the most recent version of Lightroom 5.3 (updated through CC - even though this has shown up on previous version) on Windows 7 and all the folders in my library are showing up with the directory path in front of my folder names. How can I get rid of this? I do not see any options in preferences to turn this off. I have also turned off preferences in Windows > Folder Options Control Panel "Display full Path in Title bar" option.
I have Lightroom on several computers and have set up preferences the same on each workstation, and this only shows up on one workstation.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can't get rid of items that are making hard drive sleepless

I have an Intel iMac with a dead internal drive. I'm now booting and running it off its backup clone drive, an external La Cie Firewire drive. But the drive is constantly cycling, spinning down and spinning up, even when all apps are closed and the iMac seems (and should be) asleep (if the internal drive was doing this and i couldn't hear it, no wonder it died).
I looked in Activity Monitor to see what it's up to when it's supposed to be asleep, and see some repeated entries from outdated stuff- Lexmark Network Services (from a printer i no longer have) and Palm Desktop Background, from a Palm program i haven't used since 2006 and thought was de-installed.
The thing is, i can't seem to get rid of them. It's difficult to pinpoint their exact source thru Spotlight (or Inspect in Activity Monitor), and when i throw what i can trace of them in the trash, i can't empty it, i get a message that says "USB Transport rsrc is in use".
How can i get rid of these items, which are obsolete and might be what is keeping the drive cycling?
I removed a bunch of unneeded items from Login Items, but Lexmark one isn't there. And what is "Transport Monitor" (shows in both Startup Items and Activity Monitor)? Can i delete it from Login items?
Energy Saver settings seem fine- it's set to sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity. It's just not going inactive.
Suggestions?
I'm having to shut the iMac down whenever i walk away from it to keep from hearing all that cycling from the drive (and wondering what it's doing to the drive).

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for action in Safe Mode, like if it still changes in 5-10 minutes...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it maybe some 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed. It also may be Video Card or Airport going bad.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

thanks. somehow after restoring it, ipod on my phone had another option to download them onto my phone (even though they would play so no idea) but then it allowed me to swipe the songs to delete them so they are finally gone from my phone!!!

There are several login keychain items I'd like to get rid of. I've deleted them but they come back after several hours. How can I get rid of them for good.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
          Change Settings for Keychain "login"
In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
          Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked
          Keep login keychain unlocked
is not checked, check it.
Select
          Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

Backup do not contaiuns music or apps, you will either need to resync them from your itunes computer, or you can go to purchase history in itunes or app store app and go to purchase history and redownload them.
