3-way call trouble - "merge calls" grayed out

I'm having trouble merging calls when I try to do a 3-way call. I can make the two separate calls but the "merge" button is always grayed out. I have the service through my provider and an iPhone 4s. Thanks for any help!

Thanks, diesel vdub...I actually did contact the carrier and everything was a-ok on their end. Any other suggestions?

No need to post something more than once.
The first thing I would do is to uninstall and reinstall. If you have any products from Norton/Symantec, disable those before reinstalling. You can turn them back on again afterwards.

Mail merge sources grayed out

I'm doing a mail merge for the first time on Pages. trying to link a Numbers spreadsheet to the Pages letter.
I tried with iCloud documents, but after inserting mail merge fields into the Pages doc I tried to link to Numbers doc, but the Numbers doc was grayed out (as were all documents).
i assumed it was iCloud being flaky, so i changed the documents to local. Stil no luck.
The fields have the same names as the spreadsheet headers.
Everything appears to be fine until I try to select a mail merge source. I select "Numbers document" and every file that I can find is grayed out.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be gratefully accepted - I'm running against a deadline
And by the way, does iCloud mail merge work?

It probalby wouldn't hurt to delete the plist files for Pages and Numbers in your old user account. In your old account, Close the apps and switch to Finder. Hold down the Option key while you click the Go menu item and (sitll holding the Option key) select Library. Then navigate to Preferences and delete:
com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
com.apple.iWork.Numbers.plist
com.apple.iWork09.plist
When you restart the apps, new plist files will be created. Any preference you altered will now be reset to their defaults.

Problems with 3-way calls, merge calls?

loving my iPhone but having problems with 3-way calling and merging calls. tried to be on one call and have another person call (from a regular land line) and it went straight to voicemail for them. in addition, was on a regular call and tried to add another call AND tried to merge, none of the above has worked. i know this is included in the calling plan.
anyone having similar problems?

Per the Apple note in the link below, "Note: While iPhone is actively transferring data over EDGE—downloading a webpage, for example—you may not be able to receive calls. Incoming calls may go to voicemail."

CS4 grayed out panels

On the Mac OS after I return to any creative suite app using the application changer (Command-Tab) I often notice that one or more of my panels are grayed out, like this:
If I click on them they return to normal but this is very frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem? how can I fix it?

It's an intel core 2 duo iMac running Leopard. I wouldn't call clicking on a grayed out panel a solution, it's more of a work-around. I want to fix the bug. Surely this isn't typical behaviour for CS4?

"event titles" grayed out

Hi all,
Yesterday I was teaching an iPhoto class to teachers and had a gal who could not check "event titles" in order to organize that way as that feature was grayed out.
I didn't get to spend a lot of time in front of her laptop, but she has all of the current iPhoto updates.
I've searched around and didn't find any answers - any suggestions?

in the iPhoto window the source pane is on the left - it contains many different way to view your hotos - by event or by photos - or by album or smart album or folder of albms - or by project (book, card, etc) - or by slide show
Are you saying that none of those view are in the source pane - only the last event and that "event" view is grayed out?

Volume slider in track info grays out with audio interface

I'm using a Presonus Inspire interface for mic and guitar. But in new tracks, the volume slider in track info grays out when I plug it in. Prefs recognizes the interface and I set audio in and out on Inspire. Signal comes through the headphones, but no signal in GB because the volume slider in track info is all the way to the left and grayed out.
Ideas?

Thanks for your response, I forgot to add that the five 3uk sims we have in use, I have tried all of them none of them are recongnised non of them have pin codes, I even purchased four more sims Tmobile (original carrier) Vodaphone, 3 and giffgaff.

Bluetooth MAP SMS works in my vehicle but "reply" & "call" options grayed out

I have an iPhone 4S updated to the IOS 6. I have a 2012 Honda CRV that supports bluetooth SMS. The phone paired with the vehicle and phone calls work, streaming audio works and even SMS works. The vehicle does read the SMS messages well, but the options to "reply" or "call" are grayed out so it's not an option. But, I've noticed that when I get a text message from someone not in my contact list the vehicle system will read the text like normal but now the option for "reply" and "call" IS available. So when I get a text from someone in my contacts the vehicle can only read it but when I get a text message from someone not in my contacts the vehicle can read, reply, or call. Is this something with the bluetooth profile? It seems like something that can be fixed with a software update. Anyone have some insight?

My question doesn't not need to be taken as a question about the vehicle specifically. Yes I have this question up in Acura forums as well. I am looking to see if others with an iPhone 5 or iOS 6 have tried their MAP protocol on anything basically and wondering the results of their tries.
To recall my question: Does iOS 6 have MAP Protocol for SMS read back and reply in my vehicle? & On iOS 5 this was not supported but I have read that now it is. Has anyone tried this function?

Problems with conference calls(adding and merging calls) after upgrade to ios 8.1.2 on iphone 5s

I am having weird problem intermittently with adding calls or merging them or swapping them. The issue happens 8 out of 10 times whenever I try to do a conference call. This issue came up after I upgraded to 8,1.2. Never experienced this in 8.1.1 or previous version.
Some of the scenarios that I have experienced is:
1. While on the call, when I try to add a new contact, it just doesn't dial the second number.
2. Sometimes the second number gets dialed, cannot merge the calls.
3. After talking to the second person, cannot go back to the first call.
I am very sure that this is not a carrier issue as it worked flawlessly before upgrade.
Anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the above infromation. I did a complete restore of my iphone through iTunes connecting it to my computer via cable. iOS8.1.3 was re-installed. I then added back my settings and data which were backed up prior to restoring the phone. I still have the same issue with conferencing and adding a third caller. When I hit the [+] box, the existing caller is not put on hold. The phone appears to be making a call but it is not dialing to the 3rd party. Shortly thereafter, the Merge icon appears but there is no active call to merge with. I have tried this several times using my wife's iPhone and our home phone to set up a 3-way call. I know it is not working because the 3rd phone (our home phone) does not ring. Is this a hardware problem? My wife's iPhone 6 works with no problem and was purchased the same time I purchased my iPhone 6. Probably time for a visit to the Apple Store unless there is another solution.

Group call trouble

My friends and I are attempting to initiate group calls as we have done countless times before (Not video calls) and all of a sudden, today, whenever we attempt to add somebody to the call, everybody is ejected. I uninstalled and Reinstalled Skype, and that did not fix the problem. I have tried adding people to the group and then starting the call, but when I add even one person more than the original amount of myself and the initial friend, the Call button becomes grayed out and unable to be clicked. I cannot start the call in any other ways. Help?

No "End + Answer" or "Merge" calls options on Verizon iPhone???

Hello,
I had the iPhone 4 on AT&T, but recently switched to the Verizon version. There are several major problems that I have noticed:
1) When on a call, there is no "End + Answer" button when a new call comes through. The only buttons are "Ignore" and "Hold + Answer". This is a MAJOR problem for me right now
2) When on a call and I use the "Hold + Answer" button, there is no "Merge" calls option. How can this be possible?
3) On the Phone settings, there is no easy way to forward calls like on the AT&T version.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated as I am ready to switch back.

This is obvsiously a response to and old post, but I just compared the difference between the call functions on the Verizon iPhone 4S and the AT&T iPhone 4. For Verizon, when someone is talking on the phone, and another person calls, your only options are to Ignore, Hold Call and Answer, or End. The first two operate the same on both each type of phone. The "End" function on the Verizon ends the current conversation, and waits for the new call to be rereceived. That's not exactly a technical term, but what happens is that all phone calls end (the screen actually goes back to the phone app recent call screen or keypad), and the 2nd call that was received rerings the phone. The person calling the phone hears a normal ringing tone with the intermittent beeps that signals the other person is on the other line. I hope this makes sense to you. When someone calls the AT&T phone, the options are Ignore, Hold Call and Answer, and End Call and Answer. If you select the End Call and Answer, the phone immediately ends the current call and changes to the new call. Interesting difference, particularly when compared side-by-side, or when an AT&T iPhone user tries to help a Verizon iPhone user. Have fun figuring out why this exists and who is to blame!

Is there a way to programatically call the LabVIEW "find" function?

My situation is this. I've inherited a LabVIEW program with about 375 vi's. Now when I build this into an executable, for memory reasons, I only want the "remove panel" feature set to no for vi's that are dynamically loaded. But I don't know exactly which vi's are dynamically laoded. But if I have all of the vi's in memory, I can search text for the vi name and if I find it, then that is where the vi is being dynamically loaded. That works okay, but you still have to search for each vi. I would like to run the find command through a for loop with an array of vi names as the indexed input and get some type of reply out. Is this possible or is there a better way to determine w

Well, that's covered in my suggestion of having a program first build a list
of all VIs in memory, and then start logging from then and only giving you
the VIs opened since the logger started. You load the application into
memory with all statically linked VIs then start the logger. The logger then
notes all the VIs in memory and ignores them. You then start the
application, and the logger notes all the VIs that are loaded in from that
point on, excluding itself, your application and your statically linked VIs.
All my suggestion does is gives you a list of the VIs in memory that you
then use to see if the panel is open using the relevant property node of the
VI- I recall you originally mentioned wanting to just type in an array of VI
names. There's
nothing stopping you doing this instead and having the
program periodically see if a reference can be opened to each VI in the
array and, if so, seeing if the panel is open. It's just that having a
program that does as I describe will save you having to identify and type in
all the names in such an array.
