3 year old iphone 3G recently just started turning off by itself. After a full battery charge.. I use an app and 1 min after it turns off.

I deleted all the apps, restored the phone twice and the problem persists. I just want the phone to last a couple of months until I can get the new iphone. Any suggestions as to what else can be done??

They sent it to the South African distributors Core. They report LCD screen defect and charged me R7500-00 to replace the screen and sent it back after 4 weeks.
It does not go to sleep anymore; but when switch on; there appears a flickering band of lines on the screen which last for about 20 seconds before the machines starts to work normally.
It seems there is still a screen problem!
We had to send it back again.
The other problem is that you just get no communication out of the Core workshop and you cannot communicate with the technician.
They had still not provide a technical report in spite of repeated discussion with the manager of Incredible Connections.

Sounds like the graphics card might be the problem. Run the Hardware Test in extended mode. If you get an error it can be trusted, but getting a negative may not be all that meaningful. Bring it back to them and let them check out the machine again.

One + year old Audigy 2 ZS just started Crackl

I have a /2 year old Audigy 2 ZS card I got from the Creative Store online and it has never given me a problem (once I figured out exactly how to plug in my 5. speaker system :^p)?Recently I reinstalled Windows and again the card installed fine all the updates installed fine and had no problem for weeks. Today I tirned it on and my rears are crackling constantly. Went through all the wires, checked all the drivers and software, reinstalled the drivers etc.. Still no luck. I specifically allow the sound card it's own IRQ in DM and always have. It is installed as farr away from other components as it can get as well. Where can I start to troubleshoot this without going through all that I have already?Thanks,?~dev~

I'm having the same exact problem. Really wish creative would help us with technical issues like this... but you'll notice other "static in audio" posts don't have any creative response. Hmmm? wonder why. I'm extremely close to leaving creative and making sure to tell everyone I know to never use this crap.

My MacBook is 5 years old. Until recently, I had no problems. I had a CD that got stuck in the drive and I was able to remove it. But now there is a grey screen with a file folder and question mark in the middle. How do I fix this?

I have tried rebooting the MacBook several times as well as resetting it. If I turn it off and then turn it back on while holding "option" a mouse appears on the screen but nothing else. This started earlier today when the screen froze and I had to restart the computer (with the CD still in it). I have not been able to get back to the computer since.

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the operating system files on the hard drive are somehow corrupted or damaged.
If you don't have your install disks you can get the 10.4 gray disks by calling AppleCare. 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need. With the original disks you also get the iLife that was current when your MacBook was bought included on the #2 disk.
Or if you don't have any files you want to recover from your hard drive you can get Snow Leopard for $29 if you have at least 1gb of RAM and a working DVD drive. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY You would then erase and reformat your hard drive and install Snow Leopard. You won't need the box set unless you want the latest iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps you can get them from the App Store in 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote and Numbers for $20 each.
If you have files you want to recover you can get a larger hard drive and put your old hard drive in an external case. After you install the Mac OS on the new hard drive you can plug in the old hard drive in the external case by the USB connection and try to access it that way.

Try the old two stand-by's first:
Reset PRAM, and;
Reset SMC.

It is important to understand that Mail uses TWO servers, a Receiving Server and a Sending Server.
When you create a new mail message, or reply to a message, the Sender server is shown in the message composition window like this:
That drop-down window allows you to select which of the Sending Servers you previously set up should be used.
In general, once you choose a Sending server, its choice will "stick" for all future replies to messages from that Receiving mailbox.

I am having the exact same problem with my iphone 5.
I took it back to the Apple store 2 days ago and they gave me a new one, but they told me not to restore it from backup cos if something (an app) is corrupted it will happen again. The only thing they could keep was my contacts cos they did something there that allowed them to transfer them to the new phone. I went home, and downloaded only ONE app (facebook), and guess what - THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURING ON THE BRAND NEW PHONE! It is driving me insane as I cant get through the day without my phone.

Thanks for the replies. It took a while not hearing anything so thought I was alone. I have done many of the suggestions already. The key here is that it occurs on both phones with apps, and phones still packaged in a box.
A Genius Bar supervisor also checked his Verizon data usage log and found the same 6 hour incremental use. Suprisingly, he did not express much intrigue over that. Maybe he did, but did not show it.
I think the 6 hour incremental usage is the main issue here. I spoke with Verizon (again) and they confirmed that all they do is log exactly when the phone connected to the tower and used data. The time it records is when the usage started. I also found out that the time recorded is GMT.
What is using data, unsolicited, every 6 hours?
Why does it change?
Why does it only happen on the iPhone 5 series and not the 4?
Since no one from Apple seems to be chiming in on this, and I have not received the promised calls from Apple tech support that the Genius Bar staff said I was suppose to receive, it is starting to feel like something is being swept under the rug.

I noted that the smallest data usage is during the night when nothing is going on, then it peaks during the day. One common cause of this is interference...try searching for other WiFi networks near you, see what channels they are using. Most folks just turn on their routers & the default channel is usually channel 1. You can try changing channels, with 1, 6 or 11 being the best, but find a channel that no network near you is using. See if that fixes things.

If it is a 5-year old iPod, there is the possibility that the receiver simply won't work with the older software (there hasn't been an iPod Classic software update in years). You might try contacting Yamaha support (or doing a google search) to see if it is a known issue. One solution (probably the easiest) is to get a cable that connects a min jack (i.e., a headphone jack) to stereo cables, and just connect the iPod up that way. You eliminate the risk of corrupting the iPod, and it is a solution that should always work. Just use a wall charger to power the iPod.

my one year old iphone 5 shuts on and off at random moments(probably a tech fault) can i get a new one/ get this one fixed?
it just suddently happend, i plugged it into the computer (right after a norton security check) and suddently my phone just dies. and now it won't stop turning on and off constantly every 3minutes, i know it sound wierd but it is true. I have changed batteryes before(sort off the same problem) at a different time off the year. it was during winter last time i got these issues.

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

iMessages. I have gone into settings and turned off iMessages for one minute then reactivated it. Then I turned off network settings and then back on again. Today I'll try and restore the phone again to see if that works. Frustrating!

All of a sudden today my battery life just started dropping off on my iphone 4s. I charge it every night. I double clicked the circle button on the bottom to see what was running and there was minimal running but i turned them off anyway. I checked back in a little bit, the same, turned the couple things off again which were like phone and messages... nothing major running. Battery percentage still plummeted til it just turned off.

Are there apps on your phone right now?
I think one of your apps is causing this.
The only way to find out is to delete them all and then add them one by one to see what app maybe causing this.
Especially if you've gone thru 3 iphones already.
When you restored as new - did you sync back your stuff - apps/music or did you restore from backup?
