30 mins flight recording shows 1 hour 30 mins in published dashboard of Java mission control

Hi,
We are facing some issue during flight recording using Java Mission Control (version: 5.4.0 (M5.4.0-102, 162463)).We have set flight recording interval for 30 mins in java mission control. But after completion, it showed 1 hour 30 mins in published dashboard. Though the flight recording has been completed within 30 mins. The issue is happened for 15 mins,20 mins flight recording also.
In published dashboard, some extra time has been added before starting of actual test.
Because of this extra time, we are bemuse to find out the actual result.
Please help us.

Sorry for late reply.
We are doing flight recording for OSB performance testing.
We have followed below steps during testing
a. Disabled all the services.
b. Then we start flight recording.
c. After 20 seconds gap we are enabling the services to poll data.
but after completion of flight recording it is showing wrong time interval in dashboard.

I downloaded Glassfish 4.0 to try this, also following the setup instructions for adding the jvm flags.
I could however connect with the MBean Server.
Could you send us the full error message, and possible also start JMC with
jmc -consoleLog
(add "| more" on Windows)
Are you running JMC 5.2 or 5.3?

Events shows hour difference when published to .mac page

I upgraded to Leopard and suddenly the events I have in my iCal on my Macbook are published an hour later. An event scheduled for 10:00 on my Mac shows 9:00 on the .mac page. This is very inconvenient, since I use the iCalendar online to have all my collegues informed!
I tried unpublishing the calender, exporting it, deleting and re-importing, but that did not help. Many items are weekly repeating events that were made during daylight saving time. Could this be the cause?

go to system preferences>date&time> date&time and check if you have the correct settings as in automatic clock
go to system preferences>date&time>time zone and check if you have the correct time zone and city
go to ical>preferences>advanced and check if you have selected time zone support

Best mini-dvd recorder for Mac?

I have a Sony mini-dv recorder that uses mini tapes. I would like to purchase a new digital recorder that uses mini DVD's so I don't have to transfer from tape and can just pop the mini dvd into the mac dvd reader. Is this possible? I have a friend who tried with a Sony with no luck. what is the best brand compatible with Macs?

MiniDVDs and MiniDiscs have little or no support on the Mac platform. Best to steer clear of any device that uses them if your sole working platform is a Mac.
Keep in mind that any device that records to a DVD, such as a MiniDVD recorder, is compressing the content far more than if you just captured your footage on tape. The content is already being formatted for playback on a DVD player as you record it, thus it's like skipping the whole editing/formatting process altogether. In theory, all you have to do is plop the disc into a set-top DVD player and hit play.

How to output music from a Sharp mini-disc recorder (no output, just headphone output) with an Imic into a PB?

This is how I'd do it;
Connect the headphone output of the mini-disc recorder to an audio mixer (with the appropriate adapters) to control the gain and hopefully match the mini-disc's output impedence using the trim control of the mixer. Output from the mixer to DV/DVCam tape. Then capture the tape in FCP (audio only). The reason behind going to tape first is to have a timecoded source in case of a future need to recapture.

JMC flight recording code analysis

Hello,
I am having trouble understanding my flight recording of an ADF application. I have profiled an ADF app built in 11g R2 running on a stand alone server. The JMC recording returns everything it should.
I need to know how to analyze my ADF methods to address problem areas to increase performance. The majority of the code being recorded are java methods and not instances of my ADF app. How can I better understand what's going on so I can tweak the code for better performance results?

I'm working on trying to understand the mission control output a bit better with OP up there. We have watched the youtube series from Oracle called Java Mission Control and Flight Recorder Demo Series, among a couple other videos, blog entries, etc.
We originally tried to use VisualVM but had difficulty getting it running remotely, so we switched to JMC. When we ran VisualVM locally though, we were able to add filters to the output to get rid of certain classes, allowing us to concentrate on the packages that were directly related to our application's code. For example we did not profile these packages:
java.*, javax.*, sun.*, sunw.*, com.sun.*,org.*,groovy.*,groovyjarjarantlr.*,org.*,ice.*, kodo.*,netscape.*,shemacom_bea_xml.*,weblogic.*,commonj.*,oracle.*
I see that there is a filter field in some areas of mission control, but if we put in our package prefix and a wildcard we only get like 1 result.
Is there any output that we could provide that would help illuminate this further? Thanks!

Converting seconds to Days,Hours,mins and secs

Hi gurus,
I have a metric in seconds , which is a box uptime . I want to convert that into Days,hours , mins and secs .How can I do that ?
For example , If I have 433500 secs , I should show it as 5days 00:25:00 or in some meaningful format . Can anyone help me out ?

Enter run time in hours / mins / secs on the front pannel

I am trying to get a pop up VI to run alongside my main program. While the measurment parts of my software run I want a VI to pop up and display the run time in hours / mins / secs. Once the main VI ends its sequence, I want the timer VI to close down again. It sounds easy and maybe it is, but can I get it to work ........... HELP !!

I have created an example program for you (in LV 6.0). Basically a time window will popup at the start and show the runtime (calculated, so starts at 0 hours), and when you stop the Main vi the time window will close. The time is updated at every loop of the Main vi. All of this is achieved through VI server as you will see.

Rendering will take a very long time - I once needed 6 hours for a shorter high definition movie with plenty of effects.
What theme are you using and what settings?
The "places" theme needs a good network connection.
And the finished movie will need plenty of disk space.

What exactly happens when Aperture fails to render the movie? Are there any diagnostics, error messages in the console window, that relate to Aperture? Does Aperture alway stop at the same image or video clip?
if all fails, you could render your slideshow in two parts and combine the two videos on your DVD.

Can you use logic express on a mac mini for recording

Can i use logic exprees on a mac mini for recording? Ive seen alot of 8,12, and 16 track recorders with a cd burner and it seems like a logical and more productive gues for me to buy a macmini for the same thing of recording and then I can uses logic express, a far better program for recording. can the mac mini handle the load of processing tracks and how much ram should I uses? thanks tim

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

The latest version of iTunes on a 3-month old Mac Mini (8 gig RAM, OS 10.10.2) does not see any of the shared iTunes libraries on a MacBookPro (MBP) (OS 10.9.5) and a 14-month old Mac Mini (OS 10.9.5). And a network shared drive/media server does not appear as well. I have a Gigabite Ethernet G4 and on it, the MPB and the "old" mini I can see the various shared music libraries and NAS, but not on the new Mini.
The little house with a music note inside it that I see on the upper left corner of the iTunes 12.1 window on my MBP does not appear on iTunes 12.1 on the new Mac Mini. I have gone through all the iTunes preferences and can not find where I can turn on this feature. The new Mac Mini is on the local network and I can reach the internet successfully.
I have been using iTunes since its beginning (still have a PowerTower Pro with a working copy of SoundJam), so I am not a newbie, but this has me baffled.

May I add, that I gave full rights to the user at the Mac Mini to access and change data on the server drive for ITunes Media.

The speed may have been ok at that time and is too inconsistent/too slow overall. interference may have proven to be more of an issue since as well. If using public DNS that will provide Intermittant results
I'm sure using a hotspot would be fine but it depends on your viewing habits. An HD movie is around 4-5GB. It would also be subject to speed. requirements so best to test to see how it compares.
You would have to check with your Carrier if hotspot it's enabled then just to into your settings and toggle it ON
